    Thrilled to hear it, Ruth!

Pingpong, thanks for sharing the story about your sister. It was nice of her to reach out to salvage her relationship and great to hear that there are some Trumpers who change their minds about him. Oh, if only there was a magic incantation we could use to get more of them to see the light! My SIL fancies herself to be much more educated than others (has a four year degree and reads. Big deal). I think she tries to get into controversial discussions to show how knowledgeable she is, and she’s attention seeking as well. At first glance, she presents as normal, but she’s one of the oddest women I know.

Pingsong, that was refreshing to hear and makes one have a bit of hope that some can 'see the light' after all. Sure would be nice if my BIL's could. Trouble is I've never heard a one of them actually admit they were wrong about anything. I think they don't do humble, but I'll keep hoping.

Yay for being rid of the Pillow Guy. Did take a while but just more proof that getting too close to the Loon can really cost you. Most never seem to see it coming. Who knows, sounds like some of the Loon lawyers may end up on the same nowhere path.

What reason do I need to celebrate life? A birthday, a wedding anniversary,

or a holiday are all reminders that there is something to celebrate. Yet every day can be a celebration of life. I celebrate life by praising God. Praise can be a quiet time of communion with God or a joyous hymn of thanksgiving to God. I celebrate by recognizing the life of God within others. We are all unique expressions of God's creativity, and I treat others with all the honor that I would great masterpieces, for indeed we are. I rejoice in every expression of life I perceive. The song of a bird, the beauty of a mountain, the fragrance of a flower, the softness of a kitten's fur all give me reasons to celebrate life. Unattributed

The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more
    joy you can contain.
Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was
    burned in the potter's oven?
And is not the lute that soothes your spirit, the very wood
    that was hollowed with knives?
When you are joyous, look deep into your heart and you
shall find it is only that which has given you sorrow that
    is giving you joy.
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you
shall see that in truth you are weeping for that
    which has been your delight.

"If your parents ever measured you as a child, they had you stand against a wall, and made a little pencil mark on the wall to show your growth. They did not measure you against your brother, or the neighbor's kids, or kids on TV. When you measure your growth, make sure to only measure your today self by your past self. If you compare your relationships, your success, or your anything against anyone else, you are not being fair to you. Everyone has a different path, a different pace, and different challenges to face along the way."-- Doe Zantamata

Inner peace is certainly the ultimate resource for those dealing with suffering on a daily basis. But this isn't something achieved by distancing yourself from the suffering around you. Inner peace is more a question of cultivating perspective, meaning, and wisdom even as life touches you with its pain. It is more a spiritual quality than a mental quality. Rachel Naomi Remen

The Loon's usual — it is all him, even when he chooses to believe an ACT was set up just for him hence, Loon Presidential Records Act. If you have to kid someone, it might as well be yourself.

Their raises should be based on what they accomplish in aiding their constituents achieve a better life. Since they are unable to do so and keep creating "problems" (that no one else identifies as a problem) they deem to need fixing, the voters should be able to nix their ability to grant themselves raises. How many of us have received raises that were not based on productivity or positive outcomes? If I did not meet my annual goals, I was not getting a raise even if they were feeling benevolent.

Lack of productivity = zero raise.

Where else can you get a job (possible prestige) with pretty good pay and lots of time off and who can be for sure about under the table bennies.

Almost feel when they are found not working fruitfully or earnestly for their constituents (whether said constituents know it or not) they should lose some pay or automatically not allowed to run in the next election. If they are there to do a JOB for the people and they don't do it, there should be penalties.
