Ruth, love the Pompeii meme. Indeed. This guy is hard to believe at times. I still wondering how these guys can get up with a straight face and let some of that un-adulterated drivel fall through their lips. Just amazes me no end.
If it were me, I'd be likely giggling hysterically before I got the first four words out of my mouth. In fact, I've done just that before and then I was only trying to repeat something to my family.

Compassion is both teacher and student.
When we show it, we teach it to others.
When we feel it, we learn how it heals.

Did anyone get a 'content not available' note pop up when they tried to log onto this thread last night? I did. Glad I can get in today…..BCO won't let me in on my phone anymore either (it keeps popping me over to a 'register as a new member page), which will be problematical when I travel. I don't think they have the 'report your technical issues' thread anymore & when I emailed the 'help people' they just said that was happening to them too……..frustrating.

I think another (intended or not) side effect of allowing unlimited dark money into campaigns is that it has become virtually impossible to dislodge elected officials; and so here we are with extremely elderly people who are clearly losing their capacity to serve (on both sides…..Feinstein, McConnel, Grassley to name a few who are having obvious problems). I didn't used to be in favor of term or age limits……but I think it is time for that conversation.

Ruth - I have challenges when using my iPhone and the site, often not able to find topics, but not the error message you mentioned.
IMHO, we really need age limits for our elected leaders. Sad to see Feinstein wheeled out and having to be coached to vote. McConnell looks frail.
On another note, Trump must not have watched the Watergate hearings. His version of the Plumbers look more like the Keystone Cops.0 -
IMHO, they will have to carry the cold, dead body of McConnell out of the Senate before he ever resigns.
The focus on ageism now is becoming quite an issue with the focus on the presidency but not other branches or offices like the Supreme Court, Congress, etc. We do need to have age limits and also limits on terms especially in the Supreme Court. The thought that the likes of Kavanagh, Barrett, and other recent appointees will serve beyond my lifespan is troublesome for the future of my grandchildren and their futures.
This Supreme Court is shamefully unethical, biased and has an agenda to destroy not only democracy, but every living creature, including humans, that so need protection from greed and the wiles of the rich. So the destructive path that the Loon has placed us on continues even though he is not in office; his acolytes perpetuate this slippery slope. It makes me physically ill to see them dismantle protections for women, voting rights, human rights and take advantage of the downtrodden.

To live is not merely to breathe, it is to act; it is to make use of our organs, senses, faculties, of all those parts of ourselves which give us the feeling of existence. The person who has lived the longest is not the one who has counted most years, but who has enjoyed life most. -Jean-Jacques Rousseau

I'm on board now for limits. It pains me that it has had to come to it since there are those who could handle, I think a nice really long run who have good ethics. Those who want to abuse use gerrymandering and other things to make their niche airtight and we keep on those who should retire because we need those with much experience for the balance — so we encourage more length then is healthy.
Being backed into a corner is not a way to do good politics, but here we are. I hope we can sort it out satisfactorily.
By the way, the Supreme Court is such a horrifying disaster of a Court. We need to win back the House and a few extra seats if possible, in the Senate and start working on massive repair of it — again hoping it is possible.

BREAKING: Ron DeSantis is delivered BAD news as the oldest Black intercollegiate fraternity in the country PULLS its 2025 convention out of Florida.
The Convention in Orlando was expected to generate several million dollars for the state.
The fraternity says it’s leaving for one simple reason:
Gov. Ron DeSantis' "harmful, racist, and insensitive policies against the Black Community."
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, which was founded in 1906 whose membership includes civil rights leaders Martin Luther King Jr. and Thurgood Marshall, announced the convention's relocation from Orlando on Wednesday.
"Although we are moving our convention from Florida, Alpha Phi Alpha will continue to support the strong advocacy of Alpha brothers and other advocates fighting against the continued assault on our communities in Florida by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the fraternity's General President Dr. Willis L. Lonzer III, said in a statement.
Florida continues to lose MILLIONS of dollars in canceled events and conventions.
At least SIX high profile events have been cancelled in recent months.
Looks like Ron DeSantis f*cked around and found out!1 -

How deranged!! Does he think he could have “rallies” in jail? Press conferences with tv cameras? Use his lap top for his useless platform? Snap his fingers and someone would bring him a Diet Coke? In Florida convicted felons can’t vote thanks to DuhSantis. So he couldn’t even vote for himself.

We can cultivate an inner solitude and silence that sets us free
from loneliness and fear. Loneliness is inner emptiness. Solitude
is inner fulfillment. Solitude is not first a place but a state of mind
and heart. There is a solitude of heart that can be maintained at
all times. Crowds or the lack of them have little to do with this inward
attentiveness. It is quite possible to be a desert hermit and never
experience solitude. But if we possess inward solitude we will not fear
being alone, for we know that we are not alone. Neither do we fear
being with others, for they do not control us. In the midst of noise
and confusion we are settled into a deep inner silence.

Well when the world revolves around you why not run from jail. The Loon is his own world where anything he wants st totally possible. I say watch out for that wall — it is a lot closer than you think. There is no jail in the world that cam make all your dreams come true and is a garden of delights and beautiful fantasyland.
I think it is the Loon's way to put a better face on things but he will find it the dame stark reality everyone has that has had to go there. God speed Loon.
