I appreciate you all taking the time to read about the incident at the pool and offering support and your perspectives on the matter. It truly helps! What a shame that in 2023, so much racism still abounds! The thing is, the woman’s initial comment was totally and completely unnecessary. Yet due to DT, people like her feel emboldened to lash out like that. Well, wish me luck. Dh and I are heading back to the pool today for a couple hours. It is the last week they’re open for the season and the temps are in the 90s. We enjoyed the water all summer and I don’t want to end on a bad note. The thing is, the woman won’t get kicked out because the people in charge weren’t there so nothing will happen. I think that’s another reason the woman went off like she did, because management wasn’t there. Geeeeze.

Divine, what is sad is that others who witnessed this will not address the matter with management which means they lack backbone or they think it is not my problem or they are in silent agreement with what was said. Hopefully she stays away today. Will management be there today or are they done for the season? Would have been nice if someone had used their phone to record the tirade.
Just know that some of us felt she was out of order and admire you for not backing down but handling like a respectable person. People like this need to be told their behavior is offensive as are their words. We need a return to civility after 4 years of incivility.

I wish you love, and strength, and faith, and wisdom, goods, gold enough to help some needy one. I wish you songs, but also blessed silence, and God’s sweet peace when every day is done. -Dorothy Nell McDonald

Quote for all but especially for you today Divine. Such a good idea if someone had been able to record on cell phone the incident. I do feel for the most part those on the left generally are much more able to act respectful to others they don't necessarily agree with which is amazing after all we have put up with from the rt. and still do.
I hope someday we can get back to a lot more civility, but it will take time. We have all waited so long to feel some vindication for all the suffering that showed so strongly with a lunatic as president. Marvelous that we can still be so reasonable.

Divine, maybe management heard the story and will be there to keep an eye on things today. If she tries anything again, I hope she gets busted and bounced for it.

I think the fact that I have been able to share memes like this while reading those others find, has helped me stay a lot more even than I otherwise might have if there were not these buffers.

BREAKING: E. Jean Carroll scores another crushing victory against her sexual abuser Donald Trump as a federal judge rules that she has already proven that he defamed her and so her upcoming civil claims trial against him will just focus on what money he owes her.
In other words, she's already won the case.
This is terrible news for the financially embattled Trump and could make it even more difficult for him to pay his mounting legal fees as he's buried beneath indictments.
In his 25-page ruling, U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Kaplan stated that the core substance of Caroll's pending defamation case is actually the same as the insults that a jury ruled defamatory earlier this year.
That jury found that Trump had sexually abused Carroll in a department store dressing room and subsequently defamed her. She was awarded $5 million in damages.
The upcoming case focuses on other, similar comments from Trump.
"The truth or falsity of Mr. Trump's 2019 statements therefore depends — like the truth or falsity of his 2022 statement — on whether Ms. Carroll lied about Mr. Trump sexually assaulting her. The jury's finding that she did not therefore is binding in this case and precludes Mr. Trump from contesting the falsity of his 2019 statements," Kaplan wrote.
The cherry on top is that Kaplan also denied a desperate attempt from Trump's shady attorneys to reduce any damages Carroll might get because of the earlier $5 million ruling. He will have to pay the full cost. And I'm laughing my butt off even more.

I have always been VERY fond of Senator Whitehouse and I hope he has huge success with any complaint he brings or letters and other attempts to bring light to subjects that have great affect on people. He has always appeared to me to be sincerely interested in working for the people and not against them.

Devine - sorry you experienced the ugly side of racism at your pool. That women’s brand of stupid shouldn’t be permitted in public.

· BREAKING: Georgia judge rules in favor of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, DENIES Kenneth Cesebro and Sydney Powell’s request to sever their cases from each other.
This is devastating news for every single one of Trump’s co-defendants, because they are terrified that being tried alongside Trump and every co-conspirator will make them more likely to all be found guilty of the serious racketeering(RICO) charges that carry lengthy prison sentences.
This swift ruling sets a VERY dangerous precedent for Trump and the rest of his codefendants. Proving that a conspiracy took place with all of them sitting in the same room — live on national television — will be a breeze for District Attorney Fani Willis once she lays out all of the evidence against every defendant, including Trump, for all of America to see.
Willis is on fire. At this pace, Trump and his fellow insurrectionists stand little chance against her — especially given the preponderance of evidence against them.0 -
Sure glad to read that the Chsebro and Powell cases won't be separated. These people were all part and parcel of the same thing — defrauding the American people which GA's Rico charges cover. It is actually not even conceivable to me that something like all the machinations of 1/6 could have taken place w/o many, many people being involved in the different aspects and parts. The 18 people in GA. are it sounds going to stand together for it. What one did, they all did and I'm sure they all wanted the same results from what they did.
