I am sure Moscow Mitch would have plenty of negative things to say about Mick's lifestyle. Nothing about Mick screams conservatism.

Immediate thought was Nut Job! TG not my neighbor who is more discreet about his preference for the Loon. Would not want to buy that truck second hand.

Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, the former chairman of the violent neo-fascist gang the Proud Boys, was sentenced to 22 years in prison for his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
*sending "thoughts & prayers" his way………

I had a bad experience today at the pool, adult swim till two pm. One guy plays music on his phone over a speaker for all to hear, a little mix of everything. Somehow, at almost closing time, with about twenty five people still there all scattered about, a rap song came on that was full of f-bombs. I knew the playing of the song was unintentional, so I called over to the guy’s wife who I’m acquainted with and said “hey, there’s some language there.” She went right over and changed it. But then her sister, who’s a few years older than me, walked over to where I was floating in the deep end of the pool with dh, looked down at us and sneered, “Yeah! We don’t wanna listen to that rap stuff, that’s music the (n word) listen to.” She blatantly said the n word. I held up my hand and said, “Your using that words offends me.” And she started screaming at me! “Too Bad! I don’t care if it offends you! You offend me!” and she got louder screaming and saying shit and damn and repeating the n word and her sister was trying to get her to shut up but she just got louder.
Dh and I just started swimming to the other end of the pool, got our stuff and left. The couple that runs the pool were absent today, and the guy who was left in charge is this woman’s brother in law. He was outside the pool area when this happened and didn’t hear any of it. But I saw him when we left and told him what happened. I still feel pretty upset about it. I did nothing to deserve that. She spewed out all that ugliness at the end of a beautiful day at the pool.

Ruth, reading your post about the 22 year sentence for the PB chairman made me feel a little better.

I will greet this day with love in my heart.
And how will I do this? Henceforth will I look on all things with love and
I will be born again. I will love the sun for it warms my bones; yet I will
love the rain for it cleanses my spirit. I will love the light for it shows me
the way; yet I will love the darkness for it shows me the stars. I will
welcome happiness for it enlarges my heart; yet I will endure sadness
for it opens my soul. I will acknowledge rewards for they are my due;
yet I will welcome obstacles for they are my challenge.

Divine, that lady sounds like a lunatic! She should get banned from the pool & I'd be really embarrassed if she were my relative!

Divine. I am sorry that happened. You didn't deserve that. I do hope though you will consider the source. This lady seems to be one of those who has no idea of the definition of tolerance. She also seems almost as in-secure as so many are these days. I'm assuming and I admit it, that she is likely to be Reps. They seem to lack a lot of tolerance for the black race.
She sounds like she really lost it, badly and while I do not condone the behavior in any way, shape, or form. I am thinking she may be upset because she just may have tuned into the wrong part of Fox News once or twice and got a little dose or two of some hard truths. There must be a few people who are able to figure out that we Democrats really don't have the abilities the other side in the Loon try to pin on us.
These people had four yrs. to gloat while their guy committed all sorts of sins and outright crimes. So to see him struggling now and getting actually held to account may be just a bit scary — as though we didn't and still don't go through fear and upset. I just think it is harder for them since they bought into the lies pretty early on. Facing the truth of the situation, that their 'savior' is helpless has got to be painful. I mean, they are looking at a guy who can't even help himself right now — that really leaves them out in the cold. If it turns out their guy really is a loser — then so are they.
You don't deserve how you were treated, but I think all things concerned you handled yourself in an adult, orderly manner and have nothing to feel bad about although I will admit it is hard to go through an experience where someone is being abusive and obnoxious.

I am glad for Tarrio's sentence as well. He deserves every minute of it. One of the others I think is upset about prison food and is yelling about it. What is wrong with these people. Did they all become so enamored watching the Loon get away with whatever he wanted to that they thought they could too.
I think some of those people have likely had some regret about what they did and see it a little more like those from our side see it. They took the law in their own hands and foolishly allowed themselves to be willing pawns for the Loon. Did no one ever delve into his background to see that he was a con and a failure his whole life long. Nothing about it magically changed when he was allowed to call himself a president. In this case, once a loser, always a loser.
The 1/6 people got over-enthused and saw the Loon as Eliot Ness and they were un-touchables. Even now I do think many of those people think the Loon will win in 2024 and pardon them. Well, everyone can have a dream I suppose.

BREAKING: Trump Sycophantic Senator Tommy Tuberville Slammed With Brutal Op-Ed From Secretaries of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, Demanding That The GOP Lawmaker End His “Dangerous Hold” On The Confirmation Of Hundreds Of U.S. Military Leaders
The Secretaries of the United States Army, Navy, and Air Force have released a collective op-ed taking aim at Trump-loving Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville, accusing the corrupt Republican lawmaker of “attacking” the “men and women” who give up their lives to serve and protect this country, causing our nation’s servicemembers hardships and anguish on both a personal and professional level, for no other reason than because “a single senator wants to politicize our armed forces.”
In the fiery Washington Post op-ed released last night, the military officials fumed:
“We know officers who have incurred significant unforeseen expenses and are facing genuine financial stress because they have had to relocate their families or unexpectedly maintain two residences.
Military spouses who have worked to build careers of their own are unable to look for jobs because they don't know when or if they will move. Children haven’t known where they will go to school, which is particularly hard given how frequently military children change schools already.
These military leaders are being forced to endure costly separations from their families — a painful experience they have come to know from nearly 20 years of deployments to places such as Iraq and Afghanistan.
All because of the actions of a single senator.
Rather than seeking a resolution to this impasse in that spirit, Tuberville has suggested he is going to further escalate this confrontation by launching baseless political attacks against these men and women."
Senator Tuberville is playing a game he cannot win and he’s soon to have the entire US military coming for him.0 -

Will not shed a tear for any of the 1/6 actors sentenced to long terms in prison for their participation and role in insurrection. My thoughts and prayers are along the lines of, "I hope they enjoy every second of their sentences " for the fear and uncertainty they caused those of us who believed in a peaceful transfer of power and a democracy.
As far as your experience today, Divine, I am sure this person thumps a Bible on Sundays and feels they speak for all "white" people in her circle but she is so wrong. She is a disgrace and should be banned from the pool even if her family has some standing in the membership or management. Good for you for speaking up about the language even if your intent was not to rap the "rapper". It was the language you were taking offense to, and not the singer, that was the issue. I like some songs by MM though I would not attend a concert, purchase an album or consider him close to the top of my favorite singer lists. I give him credit for being clever and some catchy songs.
She is a social misfit who needs to be called out by her family and boo to those who did not support you at the pool. Just goes to prove how we have become afraid of speaking our minds after 4 years of being beaten down, as Hillary phrased it, by the deplorables. She was a deplorable in the flesh and some people just don't have filters. Drop her from your Christmas card list! LOL.
