Coming back from Dr today, saw a Michigan license plate, MAGA5. Almost ran into a tree.

and it was a good doctor visit. My tumor markers have gone down over 100 points.

Congrats on tumor marker decline. If it pays to advertise, that driver just told you he is an idiot and since he's 5 does that mean 4 before him have the same tags or is it the number of MAGA individuals in his family? Anyhow, glad you didn't run into the tree.

Watch out for that tree — but congrats to a nice marker difference — going down.

    That is wonderful, Spookie!

My son is getting married Saturday, so (probably thankfully) I am not having very much time to keep up with the news this week!

A friend's son was in the first grade of school, and his teacher asked the class, "What is the color of apples?"  Most of the children answered red.  A few said green.  Kevin, my friend's son, raised his hand and said white.  The teacher tried to explain that apples could be red, green, or sometimes golden, but never white.  Kevin was quite insistent, and finally said, "Look inside."  Perception without mindfulness keeps us on the surface of things, and we often miss other levels of reality.

BREAKING: A bipartisan bill has been introduced that would block members of Congress from getting paid if the U.S. enters debt default or if the government shuts down.

The No Pay for Congress During Default or Shutdown Act, introduced by Reps. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), would withhold lawmakers' pay for the duration of a debt limit breach or lapse in federal funding, an attempt to motivate legislators to prevent either situation.

The bill comes amid growing fears that Republicans will not agree to meet the June 1 deadline set by the Treasury Department to raise the debt limit and risk a catastrophic default on U.S. obligations.

“Lawmakers should not be rewarded with our salaries until we do our jobs," Spanberger said.

What are your thoughts? Should it pass?

    YES

Thanks for all the good wishes. DS is 34 & for awhile I thought he'd be a bachelor living in his little house with his 2 cats & 2 dogs. 3 years ago, he met a girl at the Dog Park and the rest is history! Since she also has 2 dogs & 2 cats, the 'blended family' is the opposite of quiet and peaceful (in a very good, fun way!). Being the Mother-of-the-Groom, all I have to do is wear beige and smile! 😁 Since it is in town, I am actually doing more, including hosting my family Thursday-Monday (this is a total of 7 people). So I am writing lists, buying groceries, and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning!

Great memes & articles, as always!

Trump's team is trying to explain away the gun store incident as, "Well, he didn't actually purchase the gun, he just said he wanted to buy it." But that doesn't matter - people on felony charges cannot RECEIVE a gun. That would put him in violation of his parole, and his bail would be forfeit.

There is some discussion in the courts on whether this interpretation will hold, though. One case recently decided that it was unconstitutional to prevent marijuana users from possessing guns, so they may try to apply that here. (That would also make Hunter Biden's prosecution a lot weaker, ironically.) But in the eyes of the law, Purchasing, Possessing, and Receiving are all different and distinct things.

Your right Spookie — it is a sad truth. While I do wish Biden were younger, I don't think there is anything wrong with his mind and I'm more concerned as he is somewhat klutzy it seems to me. I'm more afraid of his having a bad concussion or something of that ilk from a fall.

He has done marvels considering what he inherited from the Loon and all of that with the Reps. trying their best to wreck things for him. I also feel like Mrs. Biden (our very gracious and kind first lady deserves to enjoy the golden yrs. with Pres. Biden. Still, right now there isn't anyone else that for sure can best whomever ends up on the Reps. side.
