Swelling

Hi, this is for anyone who has had abnormal swelling - and I’m not saying I think it’s cancer but I know a lot of you have had other breast abnormalities, too.

The area above my breast from my nipple to shoulder/clavicle has been swelling for the past year and I’ve had some clear discharge. I finally made an appointment and my gyno saw/felt the same thing, was concerned and ordered me for an u/s.

They found an (unrelated?) ill-defined hypoechoic mass at 9 o’clock under my aeriola, BIRADS 4… -which I know has more chance of being benign than malignant so I’m not really worried.

As for the swelling, it says No sonographic correlate for right upper outer quadrant palpable abnormality or for nipple discharge.

I have had enlarged axillary nodes that were removed in the past and thought maybe it was related to a blocked duct/lymphedema from scar tissue or something, but surely they would have seen extra fluid? Or if it were enlarged lymph nodes (I am prone to them).

I’m not asking for a diagnosis at all, but it’s hurting my skin where it’s stretching so I was wondering: Has anyone had this happen and either found out the cause or if you just live with it, did it get better eventually?

The skin isn’t red nor do I have any pitting, just a wrinkle next to the thickest part of it when I bend over.

I just expected them to say they just see some fluid, or it’s just extra breast tissue, enlarged nodes, or my chest muscles are just super buff 😂

Thanks!

i don’t have the exact symptoms you describe, but I do have swelling in my left armpit that sometimes goes into my upper back next to my arm and also sometimes feels like it’s in my upper chest as well. It’s also painful at times. I’ve had a negative mammogram, ultrasound, and MRI. Obviously something isn’t right but so far I haven’t been able to get any answers. It’s been over two years that I’ve suffered with this pain and discomfort. I’m m not sure what to do next so I’d be very curious to hear what you find out about your swelling. I hope it’s all benign.
