ILC Er+Pr-Hers-
Hello ILC sisters. I am 66. I was high risk after an ALH was found and went on Tamoxifen which didn’t prevent the ILC from invading my right breast. Clean mammogram in Feb then a needle biopsy in May after my yearly breast MRI came up positive for ILC. Unfortunately, I also had 6 nodes positive, 4 with macro metastases 10mm, 7mm, 6mm and 3mm. My breast tumor was 9mm. WTF? Seriously! Anyone else with similar failing of Tamoxifen and imaging? I will be starting 4 rounds of TC chemo in a few weeks. Anyone else have a similar story? Also any TC chemo tips are welcome. I chose a DMX with expanders.

@pokegranny, we're so sorry to hear of this. Invasive lobular cancer can sometimes be harder to detect in imaging scans, especially certain types of mammograms. The following article provides explanation and recommendations on what kinds of imaging tests would be better for ILC:
One of our other community members posted a great discussion thread on tips that helped her through TC chemo. We hope the many comments within this discussion will provide you with a good starting point on how to prepare for your upcoming treatment. Please keep us posted, we're here to help you get through this!

Hi @pokegranny
Sorry that you have had to join us, but glad that you have found us.
Everyone has a story that is somewhat unique. Mine is different from yours. However, I was dxd the first time with ILC and I did have TC. ILC is a bit rarer than IDC, so there aren't as many on here posting. With my 2nd dx, I did have 4 rounds of TC chemo. It was a bit rough, but I got through it. Take each day as it comes. I think reading the TC thread the mods provided will help you gain some insight on what to expect.
There is also an older thread specifically about TC. Do know that everyone's experience is different, even on the same drugs, so don't let some people's experience make you think it will be the same for you. However, I think it is helpful to 'hear' from others:
Since it is a holiday weekend, the board is likely a bit less active than usual.
Feel free to post specific questions if you have them.
Take Care.
