Ladies everything was good, she gave me the all clear and sent me on my way......now as for you girls, boy you should have seen the looks on all the women in the waiting room as my gown was rocking from all that partying going on......ha ha, but seriously, thanks for hanging out with me, you are all the best!!
RKD- did you try splitting the pill and do 1/2 in the morning and the other half at night? I know another girl on this thread had such a hard time that she worked her way up to a whole pill, but it took her many months to get there......good luck and keep us all posted!

Elizabeth37, Yay! Definitely a reason to celebrate!
June, hope it went well for you today!
RKD, hello neighbor! I can't say I had depression, but I did have hot flashes. They went away after a couple of months. Hopefully the depression is a temporary thing too, and maybe coming off tami for a while will help. Hope you feel better soon!
Hugs to all
Sandi

Gee gone for a few days and you ladies are busy. Seems I missed a couple of pocket parties. But sure glad things were good for Elizabeth and June. Shari when I had my hysterctomy the gas pains were the worst. Mine got stuck in my shoulder area for a couple of days and I could not get it to me and then suddently it was not there. Someone asked about weight loss and weight gain. I lost about 5lbs when I started taking tammi. I had lot's of SE at first but most have gone away. The ones have stayed with me but do come in go are hot flashes and insomnia. I still have my ovaries so I think they come and go according to my cycle and my hormones. Welcome to the newbies can't remember everything I read trying to catch up from being gone all weekend.

I went on my Casting For Recovery weekend and had a blast. I was one of 14 women that were chosen out of 126 applications. They randomly pick, there was a lady there that this was her fourth time to apply and was picked. I have made 14 new BC sister through this journey this weekend and learned to flyfish. The medical talks were awesome. We had two MO's on our team and only know them by first name don't even know what their last name was, will have to look at my paperwork. We also had a psychologist on our team and the rest had a passion for fly fishing and a love of wanting to do something positive for BC patients and survivors. WE learned to tie flys and we each were given an incredible box of flys that people had tied for us and lots that were made into pins for us to wear. Because we all had to have our fly fishing bling on. Love our group of women. We were the 10th group in Texas to go so our name is the TENatious fish'in chicks. It is completely free and all fishing gear is provided. You just have to get yourself there, your clothes and a one day fishing license. If you get picked you are pampered all weekend. Great food and lots of fun. I encourage any of you that if you like the outdoors at all to look into applying for it. It is a wonderful gift if you are picked. The website is http://castingforrecovery.org/
I'll try to post a few pics tonight or tomorrow.

It will be four years January 2012 that I have been on tamoxifen. I am now 59 and the most annoying problem I have is insomnia and hot flashes, once in a while leg cramps. I do go for a trans vag/pelvic ultrasound every 6 months to make sure my endometrium strip isn't getting to bid. Not sure what the doc is going to do after five years is up.

Sherry - Sounds like you had an awesome time. Good for you. You deserve to be pampered.

Sounds like a great time Sherry so glad

Doc called today and she said ultrasound showed some endometrial cysts and thickening on the high end of normal. Doesnt have a previous ultrasound to compare it too ( guess I should have insisted last year... hind sight once again 20/20 ) Said watch it and is bleeding keeps up every 2 weeks like that she will then do biopsy so wait and see mode. Basicaaly though it was all due to Tamoxifen... nooo???/ really???? that is what I was thinking too lol! arrggg!

Hey Ladies - Quick background and an unpdate. I started on Tammi in June, and started having such intense back pain that we switched over to Arimidex. Back pain continued, so had a spinal MRI. Got the results back yesterday - NOT cancer, BUT - 2 herniated disks! (discs?) Get to add another Dr. to the mix - yahoo! But such good news. Also had my right mammogram (well, the only one they CAN do! heehee) and everything came back fine.
Now we'll move on to see what we can do for my back!
Pretty relieved Purrs,
Jenn

Tink - Sorry to hear your news. The hurry up and wait mode is awful but hang in there - you can do it.
WE know Tammi can cause those kinds of issues but the ones who are supposed to know - well??? When I had my pap this year, I did insist on a transvag US so I did have a baseline. At that time I had been on Tammi for 5 months. So glad I had it done. I did have to have a hysteroscopy & D&C. Next year I am planning on insisting on another US and asking my gyn about doing a hysterectomy - I am 57 for gosh sakes and I certainly don't need the plumbing.

Thanks Jo... I am not a very good waiter lol!!.. but I guess thats what i am gonna do!
Jenn.. so relieved that it is not cancer !!!! best wishes with the discs! hugs

Count me as one without any hair to let down either. LOL. No offense taken, I really am laughing out loud at it. 3 days into it and all is well.

Tink, I missed that. Sorry for the trouble. Doesn't belong on this forum, but I have to see cardiologist on thursday for change on echo from herceptin, so I kind of know how you feel. Onc said not to worry but I am between low normal and mild heart failure, but they should be able to get it up. Don't worry after you said that, for real? Good luck Tink I hope it resolves itself.
