One year ago today I received a phone call that instantly changed my life and the lives of my family and friends. I call it my cancerversary. Looking back on this year I survived 3 surgeries, 16 chemo treatments, 36 radiation treatments and countless blood tests and scans. I lost my hair, some of my nails, and a lot of weight. Through it all, I learned  a lot about myself, my family and my friends. I cried a lot, prayed even more.  I laughed a little and got out of bed to fight for my life every single day! I made some new friends, watched a few old ones walk away because it was too much and more than anything I learned to love every minute of my blessed life with my family and friends!  I had cancer but cancer DID NOT have me!

Couldn't have gotten through it without you all!

MamaV  - beautifully said.  I have been away for the better part of a week and so much has gone by.  So sorry for your scare, but so relieved your doctor was not concerned.  Also good to hear that spots on livers can be B9 cysts.  What a relief!!!!!   but i know how scared you must have been.  Did i read it right that you have a follow up next week to make sure?  Count me in your pocket.

Paula hugs to you - sorry to hear you are in pain every day.  I hope the under arm turns out to be nothing. Count me in your pocket too.

Welcome to the newbies who have joined.

I so agree with you guys talking about every ache and pain making you wonder.  Me too.  Tink, you gave good advice.  To say ok if i still feel this way in a few days, then I'll call...

Interesting to learn that T is considered a chemo drug.  My MO had not called it that either.  I will ask in January, though I guess we know the answer.  I'm headed to the obgyn next week, hoping for some estrogen cream - hah.

I need to look into the Biotin too.

    Happy Saturday all......

Dauuuuummmmm Paula!!! I can hardly type now!!!!!!! heheeeeeee

I came back to tell MamaV..... had me go looking for the date I heard first last year, when I got that call......it was Dec. 14th.......it would have been my daddys birthday if he were alive......strange how I couldn't remember that one! What a way......probably that is why I didnt' remember......I didn't want to!! Anyway, I knew it was right around the same time you did MamaV.....  so we are close in this running game......I had my surgery on Dec.22nd last year.

2 years ago today was the day that changed my life.  I have been through a lot, and have met many wonderful friends on this journey and as much of a toll it has taken on me I still put my best foot forward.  I was reading an article today in Self magazine about a women who got an infection giving birth to her 2nd child and how she survived but lost a finger, her hand up to her elbow, both her feet to the shins and her eyesight.  So as I read and cry I think yes, I have been through hell and back but nothing compared to this poor woman who has an amazing husband and family and friends and the strength to move forward each and every day......A story that I had to share as when I complain it just doesn't seem justified compared to what a lot of other people go through daily...

Party in Jo's pocket next week, can't wait!

Happy Sunday ladies.....and Sandi what a little sneaky one you are....ha ha

I think Paula M summarized my reaction to Paula66! WOW!

Thinking of you all tonight.  Trying to do online shopping, but my mind is just not really functioning so well tonight.  Everything seems to take a gazillion times longer than it should to accomplish.  Still fatigued, still having lots of pains. See my MO this week, routine check, but still a lot of anxiety.  Wondering if I am even getting any benefit from the tamoxifen.  Has anyone had an endoxifen level or a genetic test for CYP2D6 done to see if you are metabolizing the tamoxifen to get a therapeutic level?  I am thinking of asking about that.

We had a wonderful musical service this morning, and I am so grateful to be able to sing with a very talented and commited choir.  That always helps get the week started off on a positive tone.

    Hugs to all.

Linda - from what I have read on any of the test they are inconclusive.  Controversy over rather they even tell if you are metabolizing or not.

    June,

Congrats on the two years as well as the reminder that no matter how long or hard the journey seems, you never have to look far to find someone worse off. I try very hard to remind myself of this as well as how blessed I have been whenever I have a "moment". But as previously said, one of the best blessings to come from this experience is having met you ladies..

Hugs to all my Tammi girls....

Ladies, thank you so much for the support.  I thought I'd gotten tough but people still amaze me with their insensitivity. So Jo I'm having a bon fire and throwing on a few pieces of dead wood.  All you tammy gals are going to see the smoke from all corners of the world.

    Night all zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Well I finally boke down and bought a bra, lol.  I was never much of a bra wearer when I had them.  I even got fluncked outa PE because I wouldnt wear one.  I told the teacher time and time again what did I need one for there is nothing there. She told me I could wear a training bra and I asked her what was I training for.  Well needless to say I spent alot of that time in suspention.  How stupid.  I didnt even get boobs until I was 15 and wow they were really big knockers for sure, lol.  So all those years I coulda been training for what a 32A, lol.  But I do have to say they are bigger now!

Get ready Jo jumping in those pockets today, good luck my sista!!!

I thought I was gonna fry my laptop from all the drool when I saw the pic and knew just where I had to share it.  The only thing that has me wondering is why does the one dude have his had where he does.  But heck he is still a hottie none the less!

Have a fab day all my Tammi sistas, love ya all!

Snoopy Im sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I was one who lost all desire when I started the Tammi.  I do know others have as well.  But there is one bad girl around here from what I remember would make even rabbits say danggg, you go girl.  But I did find after a few months I was able to get my freak back and well lets just say the rabbits are saying dang, you go girl!  It will come back trust me just cant give ya a time line on that, sorry.

OOOh Junie where are you, miss ya!  I even put the pillows and cold water away so you can come out come out whereever you are!  Love ya girlie

Paula are you calling me a bad girl.  My husband thought it was pretty nice.  although I have to say after months of being on tammi my sex drive has levelled out.  Still better than before but I'm not acting like a 25 year old anymore.
