Snoopy - If I did not know any better, it sounds like you are being singled out. For what reason, who knows. I would question that one especially if your boss knew you were taking care of the kids. Hope you are able to work things out and feel like you are part of the team.

Snoopy how awful to hear such news and know in your heart somethings not right about it and all before the freakin holidays.....drop your kids off my house, I will watch them for you.....
MamaV - so happy for you, I love when we hear good news for many weeks straight!
Tink How is the head? Mine is still killing me and as people keep telling me, I look tired and in other words I look like shit! Ha ha Only day 2 of meds so hopefully by xmas eve as I have 3 parties to go to and wouldn't mind looking somewhat normal.....
Time for cocktails everybody, who cares if it is only Thursday, who says it has to be a weekend night....
Love to you all.

Snoop - I am an HR Manager and that policy is CRAP! They cannot legally do that. They can have different rules for different classes of employees (ie commission/non-commissions) but they CANNOT make rules based on family status. That is blatant discrimination. Don't know how far you want to take it, but just so you know it's BS!

Vicki so glad it is B9 Merry Christmas
Snoopy smells bad to me, reall stinky!!!
Deb I also took glucosomine chondrotin with MSM. My MO had me taking the liquid. I took 2 oz in am and pm. I now it is more expensive than the pills but it may be cheaper than the Elation. You find it in the supplement section as well. the one I got was a berry flavor, very sweet usually wash it down with a little water to cut the sweetness of it. I found that it worked pretty well but then started having sever hip/joint pain so my pain dr put me on Celebrex and I quit taking it. I was thinking after the first of the year I may go back to taking it and try to cut down or out some of the Celebrex.

Paula M, Jenn and Vicky - great news. You all must be so relieved. I go to the doctor tomorrow for a weird bulge on my rib cage. I thought it was like a varicose vein so have been ignoring it for a few months even though I thought it was an odd place for a varicose vein. Decided it was time to see if it was something to worry about or not.
We are leaving for Chicago tomorrow evening to spend time with out daughter for Christmas. She is working a double the day before (also her birthday) and the day after so didn't want to make the drive home. Our son doesn't hav et work the 24th or 26th so we decided to go. Should be fun.

Peg OMG how scary to have something bulging from your rib cage. Please let us know as soon as possible and hope you have a fantastic time with your daughter.

June - miss you too!
Sherry - hope the visit with your son and his family goes well. enjoy!
Paula- yeah..galpals are the best
Came home to a very ill kitty though...not using the litter...at all..not eating..took her to the vet last nigth and was told only 10% kidney function, high blood cell count..they think itmight be cancer but not sure what kind exactly..would require more tests...giving her a laxative...water...ended up making an appointmnet to put her down tomorrow ..and then this afternoon the laxative kicked in and she pooped...and drank more water, and ate a bit and cleaned herself...and I cancelled the appointment and will likely end up cancelling my plane ticket for Christmas morning too...if the night goes sideways, I may end up calling and rebooking...but right now, I just can't....if the growling starts again...if she starts walking sideways again....but right now....at 9pm Friday night...she is drinking water and heading for the litter couch for cuddles....can't do it...

I went to the doctors today and he thinks that the lump on the side of my rib cage is a vein that has a small clot and became inflamed. Says it is not the kind of clot that will cause problems. Wants me to take Motrin twice a day and put moist heat on it. I am to go back if it doesn't go away in a couple of weeks.
Just got to Chicago to spend the holiday with our daughter. Son was able to come with us. It is her birthday tomorrow and she wasn't able to get home so we came to her.
Hope everyone has a great Christmas.

Sandee so sorry about the sick kitty.
I am at my son's and having a good time. Went into the city today saw an old friend who moved here last year. Had not seen her in a few years but we keep in touch. She just had surgery but doing well, somehow she missed that I had had BC we had a lot of catching up to do.0 -
Oh Sandee so sorry about kitty (name?) Praying she just needed a good poop. Love you Sandee and stay strong my friend.
I have much the buzz as I had my BFF over for dinner and martinis and I am now off to bed as tomorrow is party after party. If for some reason I cannot check in with you in the next few days, please have a wonderful holiday with lots of laughter and love.
Love you ladies and thank you for the constant friendship, you are all great!

Peg so sorry I didn't mean to ignore your post. Lets hope it goes away in a couple of weeks on its own. hugs to you!

Peg, I hope this is a simple thing that responds to moist heat and NSAIDs.
Sandee, my heart aches for you tonight. I have a very soft heart toward any animal, and have spent many holidays taking care of sick animals. We nursed a kitty with renal failure for nearly 5 years before we had her put down. She did well for the most part with extra fluids (we had to learn to give them subcutaneously in the loose part of skin on the neck), had a few infections off and on, but mostly was her loving self. When she quit grooming herself and quit eating, when it looked like she was miserable and not enjoying any part of life, we let her go. People kept telliing me I would know when it was time, and I did. If it is not time for your little kitty yet, just love her and hold her and enjoy her. Cats especially have a way of owning your home, allowing you to stay there and provide them with food to their liking, make demands on their own time regardless of whether it is convenient for their humans, but they also are the most wonderful creatures that can lower your blood pressure by watching them cavort or purr or just sit on your lap. Prayers for healing for you cat, prayers for peace for you. You are both loved.
Well, my energy level has continued to be abysmal, but I went out tonight with DH for dinner, then we went to the bookstore and I bougth gift certtificates for EVERYONE in my family. They are all great readers or enjoy music or at least the coffee and pastries there, so I am pretty sure they will all enjoy them. I just didn't have the energy or time to get each niece or nephew a more personalized gift, and they are all in the high school/college age, so can use books or music. SO, holiday shopping done. Check!
Hugs to all tonight!

Peg I guess we were posting at the same time. I sure hope the NSAIDs work for you

Hello ladies
Peg - I hope the heat & Motrin ease your discomfort and get rid of the offending clot.
Sandeeonherown - I am so sorry Kitty isn't feeling well and really hope she just needed a good cleanse. I once spent two weeks prior to Christmas hot packing a wound for my cat twice a day so I totally understand. Hugs
Sherry - Enjoy the time with your son.
June - You go girl. Nothing like some BFF time to lift some spirits. Enjoy your parties tomorrow.
TO Everyone, just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays. May we all find peace, love & joy in the season. Wanted to post it now since I will likely be sporadic about getting on over the next day or so due to fun times with the family.

571 pages?? I cannot possibly read this whole thread... so I will just pop in right here.
I started tamoxifen almost two weeks ago... so far no SE, although I may be a bit dehydrated and more tired. Any words of wisdom to keep feeling good? Anything I should be looking for?

Sandee: So sorry to hear that your kitty isn't feeling well. It is so hard when our furbabies are sick. I hope he starts feeling better soon.
Peg: Hopefully it responds well to the Motrin and the darn thing goes away soon!

Hi bdavis and welcome! I find that I do have to drink more liquids and more lotion. I still have a few issues with the dry skin, it does seem that I have to use lots more lotion then I used to. I do think thats normal from what I have read. I know some of the gals are have the oppisite effects and they are having troubles sleeping. Good Luck and hang in there.
Merry Christmas to all my Tammo gals. I dont know if I will be able to make it here in the next few days. Im so thankful for all you gals and for being who you are!!!!
Sandee I hope your kitty baby will be alright. Give her lots of loven!!!
peg cintinued healing for you!

Sandee, so sorry about your kitty. Hopefully she'll bounce back. Cats are tough, and even the ones with renal failure can live a long time with some simple at home treatment. My DH is a veterinarian ( and I'm a tech ) and we teach people how to give subcutaneous fluids at home. It can make a huge difference. Give her a hug for me!
Peg, hopefully the motrin and heat help so you don't have to go back to the doctor.
Welcome, bdavis! Drinking more water is helpful, tammi seems to be somewhat drying. I too have to use more lotion, as my skin is a lot drier then it was. I started having mild hot flashes about 2 weeks in, and I did notice some hair thinning. Pretty common SE's. Hopefully any SE's you have will be mild.
Happy holidays to all!
Love and hugs,
Sandi

Hi bdavis welcome to the train. I had lot's is SE but most have gone away with my body adjusting. I do have to drink more water and my skin is dry. I use pure coconut oil for that. Also my hair became dry and started to thin really badly so started taking 500mcg of biotin and that has really helped the hair thinning. Hope you'd SE's stay minimul0 -
Merry Christmas everyone and wanted to a special thank you for all of you being there for me this last year. I especially don't know how I could have kept it together throough this last scare and surgery without all of you. I am blessed to have found you all.

Bdavis, welcome! Nice to see you here, not nice that you are on the chronic meds thing, but hopefully you will do well with it. I had a rough time first time I was on it, quit taking it, MO persuaded me to start again (well, actually, the recurrence persuaded me!), so I started with half dose every other day, slowly worked up to full dose and had MINIMAL problems. Good luck!
To all the Tammi girls, have a good holiday, spend time with ones you love and treasure the moments. May we all have a blessed 2012!

bdavis - Welcome aboard the Tammi train. I can't really add anything to what has already been said. I have been on Tamox for almost a year and I find it is quite doeable. One thing Tammi has done for me is decreased the amount and intensity of my hot flashes.
