Okay I have to come here and whine a bit. My bones and joints are so darn achey these days. If I sit more than 10 minutes, I am really stiff getting up and it takes a few steps to straighten up. Also, I have having horrendous pains in my left toes from the damn nerve damage. It is almost as if I am not taking amitriptyline. They hurt so bad last night I could not get to sleep. Right now I just want to cut them off - of course I wouldn't but ---you know what I mean. Tried Aleve but no relief. There is so much we can not take with this medication. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for letting me whine - I needed to get it out.

Wow this thread moves way to fast. I thought with all the drinking and partying you gals would be a little slower.
Well alas, I have new ribs which are hurting. Prelude to fracturing ribs again.
Not going to my ONC until after new year. Just want to get through Christmas and the New Year without Dr's/xrays/scans. Geez this cancer crap is never ending.
On a side note, just got bills from biopsies, scans, surgery. The health care costs are out of control. And I've got insurance. How the hell do people manage without insurance. Oh I know, they don't.
Sorry for the rant.
Jules

Jo so sorry you are feeling like crap. I too often have joint pain, but anytime I ever talk to my MO they make me feel like I am crazy, so I just shut up and bitch to hubby......Can't believe he puts up with me for so long, what a man.
Jules, I cannot believe you have ribs still fracturing. What gives? Radiation? So scary as you hear that and obviously some people never experience anything like you are going through.....wish I could just hug you right now!
Tink you are and I are in the same boat for sure.....downed my pills this morning so hopefully by tomorrow I will feel a little better.....wishing and hoping the same for you.
Love ya ladies and glad you are a part of my life.

So sorry for the crud so many of you are having!
I actually got good news at the doctors today! The pain in my back that I've been having for about 6 months is NOT due to the two herniated discs I have, but to a very severe muscle spasm. So, next week get to go BACK to St. George (35th trip this year - 90 minutes from home) to get a steroid shot to tell the muscle to RELAX! But - no physical therapy, it's not cancer, not a pinched nerve, just a muscle gone whackadoodle!
And my ob/gyn gave me the thumbs up to be friendly with my husband again after my ooph/hyst!
Purrs all,
Jenn

I GOT AN ALL CLEAR!!!!!!
It is fibrocystic cysts!! wow........she did a sonogram right there in the room! I am so so so so soooooooooooo relieved!!!!! My oldest son hugged me when I got home and I cried like a baby!!!!! It almost didn't seem real when I was in her office when she told me and I have had a horrible day at work, and in pain alot today, so it took awhile for it all to sink in and then it finally did!!
THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING IN MY POCKET!!!!!!
LOVE YOU LADIES!!!!!!!0 -
Hurray for good news Jenn!
Sorry for the SEs and infections others are experiencing. Hope you feel better. I have the joint aches from Tammi. My onc does say it causes them. She was going to give me something for it. I swear she is a pill pusher. She has a pill for everything. She also suggested acupuncture. I need to look into that. Tomorrow back to the cardiologist and then herceptin infusion. Oh joy.

June and Tink.......so sorry you two are sick (
Jules......Rant anytime sweety! Sorry you are having to tho

Dern......I want all of you to feel better.......and me too

Paula M & Jenn - Congrats on the good news. That is always good to hear.
June - We are not crazy - the pain is real. Somehow we need to convince them of this. If I have to, I will go back to the pain doctor. My MO has told me time and time again that no one should live in pain but does not listen when I tell him about this. He was surprised when I told him the "neuropathic pains" were from radiation damage. This really sucks. Miss you - kisses

Hi girlies! Been super duper busy in the shop today so I havent had a chance to check in.
June it was 100mg a dose and I was suppose to take it 3 x a day. Well I just cant do it. The SE are just way to much for me. I hope you feel better soon and I bet you still look beautiful the way you are! Feel better soon!
Tink I do hope you can get your wrist fixed right up. I really do need your help with the Junie whackn, lol! Love ya June!! Really I do!
Jo is the pain related to the Tammo or is this something that has been on going? I hope you can get some relief soon. I know its your busy season and feeling bad doesnt help. Feel better soon!
Jules rant away! Im right there with you. When I did chemo, I had to have a nuelasta shot after each one, well they put that in a copay all by itself. Not only did I have my regular 3500.00 to meet I had to meet a 1500 copay just on that. I did meet it but it still left me in the red big time.
Jenn Im so glad to hear its not cancer but still a bummer that you have to make a trip like that. But if it gives you some relief then Im sure it'll be worth the trip!
Love you all and see ya soon!!!
O and Im gettn an early Christmas present tomorrow, yea!!!!

Paula and Jenn woohoo what great news. Now you guys can relax and enjoy Christmas.
Jules sorry your ribs are hurting again. I hope no more broken ones. I hear you on the medical bills. This year alone between DH and me we have been out of pocket about 8K. I can't keep this up and I am like you I have insurance.
SAndee glad you had a good visit with your galpals
Jo sure wish those toes would behave themselves.
I am leaving tomorrow to head to West Texas to spend Christmas with my youngest son and family. Don't know if I will have much time to check in. If I don't I hope every has a Merry Christmas

Sherry I do hope you and hubby have a fantastic holiday with your son. You will be missed! Ya know what I hate? I have been paying little by little for the last 2 years and I think I still have under a thousand left to pay and all my family and friends don't understand how I still have that much left to pay...... Yes I do have insurance and pretty damn good insurance but with each and every freaking visit (co pay MO is $150.00) My husband and I have been stressing out so he told me to pay little by little so at least they are consistently getting something, so that is why it is taking me so long. In the beginning it was so hard as I couldn't tell one bill from the next, they just all started to meld together. But damn, I feel like I still need to live somewhat of a life and all, so I can't stress out anymore about it and do what I can when I can.....that is my MOTTO for now.
Hugs to you all and Sandee I missed you....kiss kiss Jo.... and Paula watch out, I will have to find another tammi lady to help me get you and Tink......oh yeah, but you know I LOVE YOU!!!! REALLY!

Happy to see the good news ladies! Keep it coming....I do hate that some of us are feeling under the weather or suffering with SE's....My newest seems to be severe cramping complete with back pain... Will be glad when it switches again.

Sweet dreams all.

Oh and on the insurance / bill issue, let me say DITTO!!! I too have good insurance but have racked up some serious bils from out of pocket & deductible portions. On payment plans for several.... I hate to whine about it as I am lucky enough to have insurance but like someone else mentioned, I have no idea how poeople without insurance do it.
June - may have to borrow your motto.. Love it~
Hugs to everyone....

Jo, it does SUCK!!!!! It took me months to make someone realize that the pain in my breast after all that time, and even still today was REAL!!!!
all they have to do is take my blood pressure and see when I am in pain, it goes sky high! After taking my meds, it goes done to normal again.! Gee.......why do drs. think they know it all ?? heheeYeah Sandee for getting away from it all

Sherry enjoy your trip and be safe, have FUN!!!!

Shipmom thank you!
About the insurance! I have awesome insurance, 35.00 co pay for drs. (specialists) and 20.00 copay for reg. med drs. But my pharmacy is something else! Unless I do mail order scripts I can only get a 21day supply!! Then if I have to have more, they make me pay for it! It sucks, Lke last night they weren't going to pay for my pain meds, cause I had to have more the last time from surgery......My dil went to bat for me and showed the pharmacist on my script that it was for a different dose.......the insurance paid for the majority of them, and I only wound up paying 26.00 instead of 42.00!! Thank goodness she noticed!!!!

Well off to get ready for work......have a great day ladies, and for the ones that I won't talk to before........... HAVE A MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!
(2 yrs ago today I had my lumpectomy......so glad nothing is happening this year now at this time, it is done for now!!! )
HUGS AND LOVE!!!!!!!

GREAT NEWS HERE TOO - B9!!!!!
Liver MRI results are in - I have 5 BENIGN enlarged blood vessels in my liver. I asked the nurse what could cause that and she said, "Who cares? It's not cancer!" We both laughed and cried together. I love my nurses! Probably from an old soccer/karate injury and we'll watch them with future scans, etc.
Paula (sunangel) Amen sister! Benign! We are on a roll this week!
Jo - vent away friend ... we all need to at times! Sorry you are in pain. My joint aches are better on arimidex, but the puffiness is worse ... trade offs I guess.
June and Tink - hope you are all better and ready to celebrate the holidays!
Jenn - back spasms suck! My hubby gets those and they can put him down for a week at a time! Good luck with the shot - hope it helps a lot!
Thanks again for being in my pocket ... I could feel your strength!
Vicky

Jo: I was having joint pains too and I asked my MO about taking a Glucosamine supplement and he said it would be OK. So rather than take yet another pill, I started drinking Elations. It's a fruit-flavored drink and you drink one bottle a day. One bottle contains 1500 mg of Glucosomine and 1200 mg of Chondroitin. I've been taking it for 2 months and I have to say, my joints do feel better. They are still somewhat sore, but nothing like they were. Before I started taking it, I'd get up in the morning with such ankle and knee pain that I'd be walking around hunched for about a half hour because of the pain and my knees just didn't want to straighten out. I felt like an 80-year-old woman
. But since taking this stuff, I don't wake up like that anymore and things do feel better. It does take about a week to start seeing any effects and the stuff isn't cheap. You can buy a 6-pack for about $9.00, but I usually get the powdered packets because there are 7 in the box and it's about $2.00 cheaper. Because of the expense, I may just break down and start taking a Glucosime supplement in pill form instead. But for the time being, I do feel better. Not sure if it would work for you as I know what works for one person doesn't always work for someone else, but I just wanted to let you know what seems to have worked for me

Vicky.. so glad to hear about your good results wahoo!!!!! hugs

Paula - The pains are not new. It is that darn nerve damage from rads acting up. I am pretty sure the Tammo is not helping either. I sit for any length of time and when I get up it is hard to get straightened up. I just work through the pain. I am seriously thinking of going back to the pain specialist after the 1st of the year.
Deb - Thanks for the info. I can not hurt - I will give it a try.
Claire - So glad you are getting your port out - that is a cause for celebration.
I'm sure I have missed some but am really busy this time of year and it is hard for me to keep up.
Hope everyone is having a great day.

Hello ladies.... looks like i missed all the fun:-) I 've just been so busy lately with work, home, kids etc etc never stops:-( I feel sooo tired today!! not sure if its the Tammi or just fatigue! I have the sleeping problem too.... am on ambien at the moment, dont take it every night, but even when i take it i still dont sleep through out the night uurrgghhhh I wish i could get even 6 hours of straight sleep!! I usually wake up 2-3 times:-( i think this is contributing to my feeling tired IDK!!
MamaV, sunangel- I am happy foryour good news!!
So, my boss just stopped by to tell me that next week thurs & fri I cannot work from home (my kids are off school next week and hubby is looking after them on tues & weds) because there is a new "policy" that corporate employees who do not work for commission (like me) cannot work from home if they have to take care of their kids!! I am smelling somehting here!! I feel like this policy is a made up one!! I work in a staffing/consulting company, and most of the employees are commission based, I am not! I really dont like my job / work!! the people are nice for the most part, but i jsut dont feel part of the team, i jsut dont feel i belong!! Anyway, sorry for venting:-( Thanks for listening!
Happy Thursday!
