OMG Juliet...sorta makes that saying true (ya know what they say about certain people) *wink,wink*. Thats FUNNEEEEEEEEE though.
Shoot, having big probs with our windows. The huge set for the LR (6 window unit) was ordered wrong on 2 counts, so now has to be remade. Then the 3 Dr windows (separate but like bay) have rot behind them to the structure....now have to have ins come out and get someone skilled in replacing support beams...yikes. The ins prolly will not cover it, but might as well find out. Only 1 window will get put in today.....kitchen sink. Sheesh. Now theres no telling how much this will cost....and may have similar probs when they take the huge LR ones out. Right now have to cover the DR ones with plastic, since the wood siding and trim boards have been removed. DID NOT think it would be this big a project. Waited almost 7 wks for these, hoping they put a rush on the LR ones they reorder.
Last night was quite the experience. About 40+ people signed up, then 8 guides. SO lotsa kayaks. We had a tandem, which I didn't think about how hard it would be to maneuver, etc. Was BEAUTIFUL on the river while daylight..had just had storms, but was ok when we took off. RIver was maybe 30' wide or so in places (some areas were narrow), and tall trees on ea side, almost joined in a canopy. Parts of it moved quickly, then there were calm areas. So cloudy and when it got dark, could NOT see anything...just maybe a few ft in front of you. We got stuck on rocks so many times (as did others), almost capsized because of low tree branches, DID NOT enjoy it in the dark, at all. Could not even see where we were supposed to go, and sometimes you couldn't see other kayaks either, so it was like being blind. Several people capsized, and I think he said all the other tandems capsized, so I was glad we didn't. There were lots of young teens in indiv kayaks, and I worried about them. And remember I had that massocist (sp?) masseuse the day before, well by the end of the night (3-4 hrs of paddling) I had so much shoulder pain! SO lesson learned....do this again but only during daylight!! OR have some strong lights. AND not after a rough massage!
I need some strong drinks....it IS 5 o'clock somewhere right? Oh yeah, I forgot, the clocks at the HTL always say 5 o'clock!

YAY, finally joining you loungettes at the HTL. Beeen a stressful day, so will dive in *kersplash* and swim to the swim-up bar. Soooooo refreshing!!! We gave the window guys a Blue Moon, AFTER they finished for the day! Hoping it won't take too long for repair guys to be able to do all of this, etc. Looks funny with plastic draped over the front windows! Sooooo glad we didn't try to do ALL the windows at once, what a nightmare. Don't know how you lived thru all that Dorkie, when you had all your windows done. Just moving everything and taking down window treatments is hard enuf~!

My parents invited us over for steaks tonight, but took a rain-check for tomorrow. Actually I think rain IS in the forecast for tomorrow...lol. Hi girls, been working except for a short break since 8:30. I have over 30 hours OT in for the pay period. I only planned on doing another hour tonight but it turned into nearly three hours. But as I worked, STella waters my purdy flowers and did some laundrey for me.

Well I got up wheally early. I so dumb, had to hab soda for breakfast yesturdey cuz my creamer was coydurled. So mese bought new but foygot to trow de old coydurled stuff away and used it in mese coffee dis aye em so I had to make more coffee. but mese going fast, dis coffee like rocket fuel cuz mese jest planted more flowers around mese deck. dag, it is august. better late den nebber. I am on a roll baby, a kaiser roll. I realized how much I enjoy jest watering de flowers, it relaxing. ahhh, i be relaxed and dat will last a few hours. work is usually good until 11 ay em or so den as de day goes by, tings blow up. so much to do but always feel best in de aye em. well not always but used to always before de rat bastard came into mese life.starting to feel normal. tinking must reschedule soygery, not ready in a monf and 3 deys. oh hail no. but sometimes i jest wanna get ge phuck outta work and get cut just so mese do not have to werk. hmm, dat crazy.l

It was just so beautiful, huge river and you really didn't have to oar much, just went with the flow and DRANK! Loved the cheer....NO red rears! Cyn, the sauce came out great and like I said, gonna make more. It's still a lot of work, just like canning, but I don't have the stuff to can anymore, left it all behind in MI. This is all the fresh veggies, from the garden, that are going into the sauce.

Oh your pics of makings for your spagetti sauce were neat too....the "Blue Willow" saucer brought back memories for me. Grew up with those dishes, and every night we would play "Come G, Come" where 1 person thinks of a word (has to be on the table), and others have to ask questions for clues as you only get the first letter. THOSE dishes were HARD as we could find sooooo many little things to use for our word. So, nice memories of playing that game in the kitchen!

The Snow Cream
Ingredients:
Servings: 3-4
2 cups
milk
1/2-3/4 cup
sugar
(depending on how sweet you like it)
1 teaspoon
vanilla
extract full tray ice cubeDirections:
Pour milk into blender and add all remaining
ingredients. Blend on high until all ice chunks are gone.Pour into glasses and enjoy!
*Can also use heavy cream, evaporated milk, or half & half
for creamier taste (but higher fat content).Note: ADD Rum to Taste (should be LOTS!)

Lori...your pics are beautimous!!!!!! Especially the one with you in it!! Were you two the only ones up there? Seems very peaceful. I could almost feel the chill in the air and feel the wind. Terrible about the fires destroying all that land. I remember seeing fire damage driving from Sedona into Phoenix thru the mountains years ago and thinking what a shame. Where you are tho it is much much greener than I can remember AZ to be...just beautiful.
