Maybe so Smaarty!!  But why in the world, if they run it, would they not include in the copy that I receive?

  • Hole in One, I always wanted to enter a sand competition.  I used to build my kids a giant sand sculpture for fun when at the beach. Until one year I spent hours making a giant alligator lying on the beach. People were stopping to get pictures with their kids and it was really fun to sit and watch. One couple stopped by with their son and all of them jumped on it and smashed it to bits! My son was so traumatized, he never wanted me do another one. It was too late to stop them. Why would people be so mean? They just laughed and walked away. My poor kid cried over that for days.

    Blessings, loved the fly mask!

Chevy, they do castrate roosters. They are sold as "capons".  The worst thing is rodeos. How do they get horses to buck and bulls to buck? They squeeze their testicles tight with a cinch strap! And the poor animals have it done over and over again. If people did that to dogs or cats it would be outlawed.  And we call this a "fun" "family" sport.

Susan, pretty feet and gorgeous family! I have a bi-racial niece and nephew and they are the best looking kids in my whole family. Grown now into beautiful adults. Both of them could be models.

Had a miserable weekend with both dogs having diarrhea. Ugh! The puppy shrieks bloody murder when he goes because he's a big baby shiba inu. Luckily both of them are back to normal today. Pumpkin and pepto to the rescue!

This is for Little Goats. I actually like Mondays. First day of peace and quiet for me!

FiercestBlue, how rude of those people. What a disgusting example they gave there son. I love the beach, used to body surf when I was a teenager. Now I walk and soak it all up. This sounds kinda childish, but 2 summers ago while at Rockaway Beach I collected over 100 sand dollars that were whole. I got up early every morning & spent a couple hours looking. I think I will leave 2 weeks from today and go back to that same spot. I am about 12 hours away, so it's a big trip.

Chevy, I have not had a smashagram since I was dx almost a year ago. The radiologists wants me to go in Aug., that will be 6 months post radiation. I still go to MO every 3 months for CBC. All this started right after the 4th of July last year.....Trauma/drama.....

Waving hello to all.....as always I need to get moving.....

Oh, my older sister is coming this Thurs. for a visit.

Nettie, Some MO's don't believe in doing tumor markers. They don't consider them accurate enough to be useful. I think they're more useful in stage IV, when they can be a measure of how well chemo is working. I haven't had any scans. One MRI before mx to see if I wanted to do both. Now just a regular mammo on the good side and physical exam on the bad.

wren, I don't think tumor markers are that accurate for any stage . I am stage iv and my tumor markers have never been over 8.     And when it works detecting cancer I have heard them to be in the 2 to 3 hundreds if not a lot higher.    I have cancer in c7, rib, lung, auxiliary both arms, I believe just about all my nodes in neck and clavicle, and when the cancer is active and moving and growing my tumor markers show nothing. Actually my blood work is always good too. Those have never been an indicator for me. For us, when the nodes in neck swell, we know it's growing again. Pet scan will show it, but none of those blood tests. What I have learned is that we are so unique in our symptoms and se's and our responses good or bad to treatment. I feel bad for the docs cause it is so hard for them since it is so different for all of us. That is my 2 cents worth....

    Happy Monday to all :)

OMG FBB, you are RIGHT?  Dang!  But now I remember tasting turkey balls....  Can you believe that?  I mean I know what Rocky Mountain Oysters are, but my DH brought home some Turkey parts, one time, and we breaded them, and I ate one....

There is a place not far from here where they serve breaded Rocky Mountain Oysters... It's called Bruce's, near Windsor/Severance, and they are supposed to be a delicacy....  Man, I just couldn't do it now....   They are sliced and breaded, and taste like chicken..... honest.  But nope.... couldn't do it now...

I'm glad you guys have talked about Tumor markers!!!!!  Now I won't push my PC for that blood-test...!  If it isn't that important, then I don't need it!

And Fierce.... I didn't know that about Rodeo's!  I had no idea...  I just don't like to see anything hurt.... can't even watch a bull-fight.... Or those stupid back-woods Alligator hunters...  Or any kind of hunting!  Even when my GS sends me short videos of his fishing trips, and he catches a Bass, I won't watch the movie.  DD says they have to throw them back....but STILL!

I love the little goat picture!

Well, I'm only 3 pages behind. Not bad for 2 1/2 days.

DD came Sat and we all went to party in FW. Now there is drinking but at least the drunks are nice drunks. The youngest kid in the bunch has to be prob. 22, mine's almost 27. Now some have grands but they weren't there. Went to bed at 2 am - remember it's an hour drive home - and thunderstorm bounced me out of bed about 6:30 yest. Same thing happened again this morning but at least I had gone to bed earlier. Loving the rain, but wish it wouldn't come at that hellish time of morning - but at least not severe. Then lovely nap on couch sitting straight up until junk phone call woke me up. Had bad, bad flooding just south like 6 inches of rain over 4 hours or so. More rain than they've had all year total. Been on Craigslist looking for some local hay to buy. No luck yet.

Snakes - DH killed copperhead in drive the other night. I was going out to lock goats up; he chopped it up with hoe. Now rat snakes or garter/grass snakes no prob. but not letting anything live that looks like copperhead.

FierceOne - sounds like an agreement was reached with DD. ThumbsUp Thanks for the goatie picture.

Wren - beautiful yard. Do you lend DH out? Mine thinks yard, grass, mow, couch. That's it. Maybe bit  of weedeating.

Chevy - I would assume steers would not be "in the mood" as much nor as fierce for it. Winking Oh yes, there is a place next town over that does Halal goat butchering so yes they have religion. No Chevster - nobody messes with Mr. Longhorn but itty bitty baby longhorn is a diff. story. I think they're supposed to be pretty gentle but I've never been in a pasture with a steer, bull or cow.

Sassy - can identify with shoe dropping after something nice. Water pressure way down yest. am and DD of course brought her laundry. DH checked our meter - not running so thank goodness not us. About that time water dept. truck with flashers cruised by looking for the leak.

Oh, chicken fried steak - mother's milk for Texans. I made some not too long ago, floured, let it sit, dipped in buttermilk, refloured. It was good. I never fry anything so we enjoyed the grease. I haven't fried a chicken in prob. 25 years. That's what Shake N Bake was made for.

2TA - I made chicken/dumplings not long ago. Annie's dumplings - frozen in sheets. It was very good. DH liked it which surprised me. Bet you can find it if I found it in my little grocery. No oven needed. We're having the tenderized steak that I used for the chick. fried but making a stroganoff. I have sour cream and tons of dried pasta to use up. I do love the Pioneer Woman. She has a recipe for "Marlboro Man" sandwiches that use the tenderized steak. I've been making bean/rice stuffed peppers too. Parboil peppers and stuff with cooked rice/canned bean mix jazzed up and bake not that long. I always forget how long because I don't nec. use a recipe for the stuffing. I have come to love the pureed herbs in tubes in the produce section. I keep the cilantro one to use in stuff.

I'm so far behind, I'm sorry.

OK I'll say it Chevy are  beautiful---really and thanks for explaining the pillow, cuz beauty doesn't always mean u can wear silly hats.

Eating thes things from animals sounds disgusting to me, but people do this so...

And markers, again all these letters and all of this mammo talk makes me cringe, even tho I don't know what they all are.

I;m still dragging from yesterday which was great, good weather, good food and 50 hiding in the kitchen and my sister and BIL were truly surprised and it was fun. I was one of the last to leave, then I worked today and I'm not seeing straight yet--but the party was worth it. so it takes me a while to feel decent again cuz everything hurts and swllen like crazy Just so u know OK????

Good Morning gals. I've been up for a while, but I took a shower and washed clothes and of course I smell like Pink sugar, so I smell good and I made my own coffee. So right now I have some energy. In 2 hrs. I will e taking a nap.

How is everyone this morning? I hope everyone's day starts really good and stays that way.

I talked to one of my nieces yesterday and talked over the party for her mom and everyone raved to them, so we had an old fashion Rave party, I guess. And so far I haven't taken any pain meds, which always makes me happy.

I had a wonderful alone time with Joey last night we discussed so many things, like DNA, Heritage--chit I have to start reading for our conversations. But they can get interesting. Why is my whole family crazy but me? Oh well.

Morning gals...  Everybody must have slept last night?

Yes, Susan, DOES go with my job...image

Nettie...  so loved you on your lovely John Deere tractor, or whatever you called it...    Post more pictures  so we can see what a REAL woman does... Ha!

So Cammi, you DON'T have to say it, but I'm feelin' so good that you did!  I already HAVE your picture, so I KNOW you are mostly fabulous also!

You are cringing?  Boy, doesn't take much, does it?   And glad you enjoyed yourself at party with fam!

Thank you Blessings...  So are you!

YOU guys are MY  Magical" friends...!  Smarty, that was good!  I feel so sorry for people I know, or family that never go out to lunch with a friend, or just want to be around anybody!   I have a couple SIL's that are like that... I guess they just revert to wanting to be around their own, or just don't want to have fun anymore...

So Cammi again?  Shower eh?  I can smell you from HERE!  You smell most lovely!

    Good morning, all  Nerdy

I haven't posted much but that's because after 5 years on Arimidex and one year off the drug, I am getting some energy back and have been gardening my little heart out.  I hope everyone is well rested and has a wonderful day.

  • HoleinOne, what a lovely image of you wandering the beach picking up sand dollars! Thanks for my mini vacation!  I love the beach after all the crowds go home and you can truly appreciate the crash of the waves and nature.

luvmygoats, you are making me hungry for dinner and it's only 10 am!  I just saw a snake the other day too. We were out walking and my husband yelled, "STOP" and I was annoyed because the mosquitoes were bad and I looked down and all I saw were mosquitoes trying to land on my leg. Three inches to the right of my foot was a snake that didn't move. Had to get a stick and shoo it away. It was a bit too dark to really see what kind. We occasionally get black widow spiders here and that makes me nuts! They are always in some dusty obscure place like an empty feed can. I try not to kill things but if you look like a black widow it's curtains for you. I don't even look for the hourglass anymore.

Cammi smells like pink sugar? How does pink sugar differ from white sugar? Or red or green sugar? Is it magical? It must be because beautiful Chevy with the bow on her head can smell her miles away. I want to smell like pink sugar! Right now I smell like dryer dust!  Does anyone remember Loves's Baby Soft?  I loved that smell when I was a teenager.

Susan, loved the foal picture! When I was a veterinary nurse I had to do foal sitting on occasion at University of Penn's New Bolton Large Animal hospital. The foals were so cute and peaceful. Of course occasionally a mom horse would try to stamp your brains out because she didn't like you hovering over her baby, but it came with the territory.

Just don't know what to say....just been feeling really rotten!  And of course, when that starts, the brain immediately derails to the "bad" place!!  Just can't seem to shake it, don't know what's up, but I do know I have GOT to find some way to get some relief for the hurting!  And please, I know everyone will probably say get some pain meds, but I can't take them!  I am taking Aleve and Advil and Tylenol, not all at once, but trying different ones at different times to see if I can get relief, but so far, no go!  I'm up and at it, I'm working everyday, with a smile on my face, and I put on the brave front for everyone, but when I'm alone, it's crying time because I feel so bad!

This is just ridiculous, I've got to pull myself out of this funk!  Got to find the cause behind the pains or I'm going to drive myself insane with worry!  Just never thought I'd have to insist on some test...usually the doctors are all to ready to order up test, but not for me, nope, they want me to take their word that all is fine!

    Oh, well..rant over!

sorry Nettie,  I don't remember, do you have an exact spot of pain or is it that all over yuck that when u bump into something it feels like the house just fell on you??

And sorry you can't take pain meds...I get so much relief from them. A tramadol Vicodin combo just once a day gets me throughout till the eve, and then I just moan until the next day. I am allergic to Advil and those kind of things so I have to do the narcs. And for me, they also give me energy. The doc just shakes his head and says....just like the football players.......

I wish i knew of some magic pill that could take your pain away. I cry to when I can't get control over it. Or I get really crabby, which puts everyone else in pain.

Prayers and hugs sent your way

Nettie, Is finding a new doc an option? I know someone from another thread who is getting relief from acupuncture after years of pain. She can't take pain meds either.

Thanks Susan and Wren!  Susan, I have tendonitis in my left arm that is just horrible!  and then I have the pain in my upper back and sciatica in my left hip and leg!  It's the sciatica that keeps me up at night just adding to the misery!  It's a train wreck!  No sleep = decrease in tolerance = makes pain more unbearable = makes me a grumpy nervous wreck!!

Wren, I've thought about acupuncture, but two things, I would have to travel in order to get it and I would first like to be sure the pain is not mets!  And I'm on my 3rd, PCP!!!  Makes me feel like a hypochondriac when they all say "your fine"!  When I know d**m well I'm hurting!
