I just can not bear to turn on the furnace yet (she said from under the blanket). I am going to have to wear a sleeping bag to the football game tomorrow night!

I always, always, always try to keep the furnace turned off until at least the 1st of October. That might be a little tough this year. Funny how it can be so hot and humid one day that I break down and turn the AC on (which I hate to do because I want my windows OPEN), then the very next day I actually consider turning the furnace on instead. Welcome to the upper mid-west......

Nature's furnace is still on here, expected to get hotter and hotter over the next few days and yes Sweet I would love your weather, as you can guess I'm not sleeping well in this heat..
I was a very naughty hostess last night as I sent my houseguest off to TJ Maxx, Dress Barn and Kohl's and I went to Body Jam class, hey a girl's gotta dance

Badger, had chats today with other running woman at the gym and seems I'm normal (well, sort of) and yes, I can try to switch off radio committee and tune into The Voices - thanks! Teacher, how is your sight and still using ultrasound?
Power step with hand weights and body balance at the gym this morning.
Tomorrow, off with son in the morning to attend a three hour yoga workshop.

My Insanity class was cancelled this morning, so I went to Yoga instead & then stayed and did the treadmill for 30 minutes (I figured I'd be out of the mood if I waited until I got home). I wasn't familiar with this particular treadmill & must of set it on 'the mountain climbing' setting because the incline kept going up, and up, and up!!!!
Burrr.....I am going to wear off more calories by shivering at the football game tonight!!!!!!

I've been off 3 days now- rain, sick, sick. I think it rained on those sick days too. Luckily I got in 210 minutes earlier this week and tomorrow says 0% chance of rain, so I plan on getting back in he saddle tomorrow.
Two days of colder and I already hate it. 68 in the house yesterday, and 65 today. I've been sitting here drinking coffee with my north face sweatshirt on and I'm still cold. I looked at the weather and the low tonight is supposed to be 40. Tomorrow is not supposed to be warm either so dang, I feel like a wimp but I just turned the heat on. Cheryl send a few degrees over this way. I'll split the difference with you and we'll both be perfect!

NJ is cold enough for me and we're still in the 70's during the day, 50-60 nights. Not expecting to turn on heat until mid-October. I've only used the AC about 3 times this summer so I've been a happy camper with my utility bill (since I also don't cook!). Cheryl, promise to let you be comfortable. I can turn on the AC or your room has 2 big windows, a ceiling fan and floor fan. We'll see what the weather is like.
Lazy tonight and Friday is normally my lazy/cheat night so only did 20 mins on the treadmill with some 1 min runs. Supposed to get lots of rain tomorrow so may try get out early to walk and then minor housework or maybe shop and sculpt. Oh wait, maybe better take badger's advice and wash windows again.
Night my sculpted friends.

Nothing for me today. My lame excuse to myself the past couple days has been that my fitbit wouldn't hold a charge. Checked their site and discovered this seems to be a very consistent problem with the Flex model. The battery will not seat properly in the charger receptacle unless you hold it firmly in place and rubberband it so it can't move.
Poor excuse, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Besides, it's been raining since I left work, and I HAVE been doing the usual 'housewife hustle'. Namely, have barely sat down since I got home because of going from room to room picking up and putting away, boxing stuff up to send to my DD in Maryland, washing dishes, doing laundry, grocery shopping, etc, etc.
Love to all!

Dearest Patoo do not wash the windows on my behalf, really the only time I ever wash the windows is when I'm having company, I do not consider myself company when I'm with you, we're family, there's a big difference
my excuse these days is we're in a drought, wouldn't want to waste water now would I, yours can be the rain
Sweet two weeks ago I lost my Fitbit, well not really I had it in a pocket and forgot to take it out when I put the dress into the washing basket, then I went around for a week looking for it, thank goodness I discovered it before it went into the washing machine. TH I wish I could send sunshine your way and in return I'd love some rain, hope you are feeling better. Odie my Bootcamp instructor has given up his Saturday class, I'm really going to miss him he is doing one on Thursday night but that's one of my dance nights, maybe I'll have to alternate, of course they'll get someone in to take his timeslot but I really liked him.Well nothing for me today as it is my rest day but I'm almost at 10,000 steps and I did have to haul big heavy mail trays around so I guess that could count as weightlifting!!!

Three hours of yoga that left me feeling like a wet noodle. Son had a 15 year old self esteem melt down in the car on the way home. Stopped at Papa John's Pizza and a pepperoni pizza put the world right for him. Have a 10 mile Rotary ramble tomorrow morning with friends for sponsored walk for Pink Ribbon Pilates. No rain today a hopefully none tomorrow.

Treadmill & some upper body this morning.

40 minute walk this afternoon and upper body weights. Lilac I had a bit of a teenage meltdown at my house too. Girl-related. Our food fix was mac and cheese at his favorite restaurant. I think now I feel more blue (for him) than he does.

No more exercise to report for the day, but did want to admit that I whimped out and turned on the furnace because the temperature in the house was 60 degrees and falling!

TwoHobbies, teens are so moody and I'm grateful that carbs can shift it. My guy got to his yoga class this morning and feels better about it all.
Got out early and did the 10 mile Rotary Ramble this morning. There were
four of us in our group and it was beautiful. It took us 3:55 to complete as we went
up the downs and back down. I saw some incredible views across Kent and
enjoyed the company. The Rotarians at the three check points were so
sweet, jolly and rooting us on. Got home to my darling husband pulling a
tray of freshly baked maple pecan baklava out of the oven. What a
delicious surprise!Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone!

Yum!
Did some pilates & am now putting the finishing touches on the house before my old girlfriends arrive for our reunion (DH has been banished from the house for the next two days. He really likes gambling and I don't; so he is happily off to a casino with my blessings). No exercise for me until Tuesday afternoon when they leave!

Don't envy those with teenage meltdowns but nice to know carbs still cure all!

What a nice surprise Lilacblue. You earned a few pieces after your run.
Ruth, enjoy your girlfriend reunion. Sounds like good fun.
Exercise for me today was laundry and bedding down one garden/flower bed for winter... Will likely close the pool next weekend if I have any energy left after the plane pull event. Decided to do this event with my bootcamp group and will just have to do a color run next year.

I did the women-only ride, but downsized from the 60 to 40 mile route. I was strong and energized, and finished up promptly. This is in support of help for victims of domestic violence who are all around us. And what a wonderful way to show that women can be strong and in charge of their lives.
I could have done the longer route, but would have started the week exhausted, and I just have too much going on not to be on my game. Also finished just before it got really hot here.
Things are still great with my new guy. Nicest was sitting out on the deck yesterday AM drinking tea and having a long chat. Not that we didn't do a few other things as well. Arimidex appears to have zero effect on me that way, I am happy to report. Interesting how not all men want younger. For him, conversation and common interests are much more important than youth. Although he did mention something about "feeling 25".
Going back to the WAVE (women against violence everywhere) I did reflect on how fortunate I am and the plight of so many women worldwide. Unspeakably hideous things that happen. However, one fourth of victims in the US are men. Most vulnerable age for women is 18-24. Interesting if you think of it. Young girls who want to please and don't have the instinct to GET OUT.
Busy week, with an event on Friday and the Brain Cancer Walk on Saturday. I am going to combine with a fun day in Seattle including a makeover and haircut. Then will meet my guy looking fresh for an afternoon of culture/museums. Probably will end up at the wine bar as sure they are saying "Claire who?" by now. Not sure about then into Sunday, but will drive to Eastern Washington (Lake Chelan) for an off-site meeting until Tuesday. The following weekend is the Wine Country Trek which I am doing solo.
Did I mention a spot of work along the way??? As in the rest of this afternoon once I get the hair color off my head.
Can't wait for cool, crisp autumn days. I should be ready for them by the time October comes. My absolutely favorite time of year, and wonderful cycling. Just wonderful. - Claire

Ran on Friday morning before school.
Walked all over Newport yesterday with a friend and got in lots of steps.
Did a road race today. It was a benefit for a youth organization that promotes wellness, nutrition and exercise. It was 3.9 miles and I ran it without stopping. I beat my previous time so I am very happy!

Walked this trail today up and down sand dunes. Beautiful perfect day,

hi all, checking in after a wonderful productive weekend. Glad we had the heat on Fri night but it got nice enough to not need it after that. Gorgeous classic Midwest fall days - bright blue sky, crisp cool air, warm sunshine. Posting two long walks and a round of Garden & Sculpt. Finished the Aug books and took a leisurely Sunday drive to get mom's birthday present. Lois (my GPS device) took me down some pretty back roads. Trees are just starting to change. Love this time of year! ♥

No exercise since Tuesday when I went to my Livestrong program but today went to the beach and enjoyed the breeze and sunshine, also walked from the parking lot to the beach using the walker which in the sand I have to lift and step to move but its better than the cane I can't use the cane on the sand, so a little effort and my calves felt it.

Odie - decided not to do back-to-back 5Ks this weekend, so I won't see you up at Dulles - we're doing the 5K Ovarian Cancer run in Annapolis on my co-worker's team - she's going on 5 years now with Stage IV ovarian cancer. Cheryl & Patoo - envious of your mini-reunion! LB - your run sounds wonderful, and what a sweetie of a DH you have!
It was cool and rainy Saturday, but beautiful Sunday and today. We were up at the cabin so I missed the running clinic group run Saturday scheduled for 4.5 miles, but we found an old trolley trail that's been redone as a fitness trail, so did our 4.5 miles in the cool drizzle Saturday morning on the trolley trail. It was very refreshing, at least till we got to the part of the trail that passes the wastewater treatment plant - the smell was NOT so refreshing.
Lots of yard work at the cabin Sunday morning, then we came home and spend the rest of the day scraping and wire-brushing the coping around the pool to remove the old peeling paint, so got quite an upper body workout yesterday. Yoga DVD this morning trying to work out the stiff shoulders and pecs! 0 -
45 minute walk/run Saturday including 3 running segments of 4, 5 and 6 minutes for a total of 15 minutes running, 30 walking. Nothing yesterday except working on chores list at home after church (just under 10,000 steps, so at least it kept me up and moving around much of the day). Will be rainy here this evening so not sure what my plans are for exercise yet.

Phooey, just lost my post. Suffice to say have logged almost 27,000 steps the last 3 days, some of it continuing my 1 minute runs which are getting easier (thanks Sweet).
Mary, feel free to ride up and hang with me and Cheryl. Plenty of room.
Cheryl, you will probably love the weather. Next few days will be in 70's and cool at night with no rain forecast at all.
Night my sculpted friends.

Nats, sorry that I won't see you there but applaud you for doing the 5k to support your co-worker. Wish you your best run time yet.
Hit the gym tonight for 35 minutes on the Elliptical plus weights.

Hi All! DS is home for a visit and walked/jogged with me this evening.

I got in a 4 mile walk with a friend after school today. First one since we used to walk together last spring and she commented that my pace has really picked up. I think all my exercise this summer is paying off.

Odie how exciting to do the plane pull it sounds such fun. Yes Nats drive up and hang with us btw how is Mikey doing? Wonderland how lovely to have your DS home enjoy the visit. Patoo I am sooooooo looking forward to our visit, the weather sounds perfect. I was going to DWTS tomorrow with 2ndtimearound but we just decided it's too danged hot to stand in the line for the couple of hours before you get to go in.
Went to Sh'bam this morning and did a Spin class tonight - thank goodness the gyms are air conditioned
