OK, my gym bag is in the car!  Yes, I will go, haven't been in nearly two weeks, inexcusable.  Not getting my 10k steps in either most days, though yesterday DH and I went for a nice walk in a new to us nature preserve, it is beautiful there, we will be back and explore some other trails.  Oh, and Saturday I did some much needed shopping therapy - found a nice Land's End boiled wool jacket that will be a nicer dressier substitute for my big blue parka I wear all winter!  Then I hit my favorite thrift store, and scored big with some new to me winter clothes.  Had my annual GP visit this morning - good news is I'm 10 lbs lighter than last year, and nearly 20 since 2011.  Not so good news is I'm do for my colonoscopy Singing

Good work, Pat on the weight loss, and a walk in nature is more fun than the gym.    I'm doing my first colonoscopy next month.  That's really not how I want to spend my PTO!

Ann, every time you post I wonder what the Fitlinxx are?  Are they something new I haven't heard of?

Beautiful sunrise, Ginger.  I never see those exercising, only driving to work!

Good to see you, Patoo.  I wondered where you were.

Yesterday I walked 67 minutes with my husband (you don't hear that one too often).  We walked the same trail I walked last week and about 70% of the leaves have fallen, so our fall color is going fast.  Today I walked at lunch for 35 minutes and now my son is saying we're going for another walk, so here I go!

10/27- one hour personal training session with my trainer today. Two months into it, she showed me once again how far I have come again with my core work.

My goal this week is to ramp up my cardio to start burning more fat to loose the weight now that I am stronger. Progress!

Lovelikecrazy, you could try taking Immodium for a couple of days before your race. I also have been having similar trouble, when I gotta go, I gotta go! Recently I rowed in a race and knew I would be out on the water for at least an hour; I took Immodium for a few days before and I was okay. Not the same as running, though, if that is a chronic problem that runners get. I was wondering if my problem was related to being on Arimidex, but I have been off for a month and still have some issues (although not quite as bad so who knows).

    Good luck with your race!

i'm way behind on reading posts!!! Now trying to post from my Nexus notepad and it sure is a lot slower going for me.  Been working lots of extra hours because of a big project at work and haven't had much luck with getting back to my early morning gym class.  Have, however, had a couple of good days in a row. Lotsa yard work Saturday and a nice brisk walk with my mom yesterday. Weight is stable so that's good.....I've just gotten WAY more fluffy than I should be. Love you all and Cheryl I'm definitely up for playing in the mud next June. Sleep well my friends!

I had a dr appt today to remove a second cyst. This one was just below my ear on my jawline. I was smart this time and went out running before my appt. I got in a 5 mile run and hit 10,000 steps before 9am.

In the last year, I have lost and kept off 40 pounds. I have about 50 more to go so I stay tuned into the voices...

Subbed in my old room today (very fun) & went to Zumba tonight.

For colonoscopy ladies, here is a tip (which I think badger told me), instead of starting the liquid diet one day before, start two days before the prep....that way.....not much in, not much out. Makes it a lot easier.

I got a ton of exercise in on Saturday manning the silent auction, selling T-shirts and 50/50 raffle tickets at a benefit for the Trillium Centre (b/c center in Mississauga). I logged over 12,000 steps and finally at 2:45am walked into the house and fell into bed. We raised just over $4,000.00 for the center - I think we did a good job.

Odie thanks for the advice - I see my trainer tomorrow so I will tell her. I'm also going to ask for her to put her program for me down in writing so I can run it by my MO when I see her next week. I think it's just that she's young and fiesty - a little go-getter. My trainer not my MO. Well, actually I don't know that.Winking

Sunday was a lazy day for me. Slept until ten and only put 4,000 steps on all day. And had meatloaf, mashed potatoes and peas for dinner so I was in full out comfort mode. Today it was back to work and company when I got home so not so much exercising for me.

    Have a good sleep.

I made it on the treadmill today...only 20 minutes since I did it while my rice was cooking and I had to jump off to put the fish in the oven, but I'm at least happy I got on there at all!!

Ruth I've heard of doing liquid diet 3 days before - is 2 sufficient?  And does that mean the clear liquids or can I do yogurt and milkshakes?  I'll be working the two days before and I'm not sure how well my brain will function on broth and jello-o.

Did upper body and run/walk intervals at the gym.  That and a long phone conversation with my son while I paced the kitchen got me over my 10k steps for the day.  A little classical stretch this morning, and a nice walk at lunch on this beautiful day here in New England.  So already over 6600 steps, yeah!

I was on sparkpeople this morning and there is a challenge to work out at least 10 minutes every day for November (up to Thanksgiving).  My daughter and I are going to try it together.  10 minutes isn't much, but if you do something everyday it might just become a habit.

Did my cardio circuit class, followed by a pilates DVD at home. Well, the weather seems to have turned....it is really cold & really windy. Burrr......we are going to freeze to death tomorrow morning when we walk if that wind doesn't go down!!!!

Cheryl, I think you have sent me your cold. Shocked

It is soooo windy here.  I walked the dog a short walk before getting sick of the wind and I raked a few leaves in my hedge protected back yard.

Ruth I looked it up and they do recommend 2 days clear liquid, so I will go with that to the best of my ability!

Ok so I chickened out. I'm sorry to say that I cancelled my appointment with the trainer today, rather than deal with her. I was in a good mood and didn't want to talk about it. Besides I wanted to see my hubby and tell him what the doc said. Isn't normal a wonderful word? Hearing, MRI, blood tests all normal. A little low on the MOKA but he'll get me retested in 4 months. Arthritis up the ying yang, wants to shoot my knee up with the latest super lubricating oil (not cortizone) not sure about that, but i don't have to decide today. Now it's down to that pesky little lump and I'll find out more about that on the 6th. But I'm happy. Not exercised but happy. I will heed the voices tomorrow.

    Good night all.

Woohoooo Red, normal is such a beautiful word, congratulations. Sorry Ruth hope it passes quickly..

Tonight went to Body Jam, when I pulled into the parking lot the gym was in darkness because of a power outage so I drove back up the freeway and went to a Body Combat class at another gym, it was my first hard core workout since I came down with the cold and I did do a lot of coughing so I'm still not 100% but feel a whole lot better than I did a week ago.

Back from my NYC adventures which were great fun, but what I really noticed is how fit and strong I am compared to the other ladies I met with. Now, they all do work out, but don't do quite what I do. Was wonderful to learn that I have inspired one of my clients to get back on her bicycle and she is now doing cycling events. One of my other old friends and colleagues just needs to carve out some exercise time and was surprised at how I just work things into my schedule.

One fun thing I did was the iconic RUN around the NYC Reservoir. Now, you realize that all sorts of elite runners were passing me, but I did the run TWICE. Plus, a ton of walking and each subway ride is a minimum of 4 sets of stairs. Does shoving back when getting shoved count? One thing I am not accustomed to here in Seattle.

I got to church at St Thomas' which I was glad to do as wanted to hear their choir. That didn't happen as they were on mid term break, but I did hear the Choir from Liverpool Cathedral. Just wonderful music. I was able to honor Father John Andrew who died in the past week, and was thrilled to learn that his legacy from 30 years ago is very much alive. I also got to hear a sermon from the newly-installed Rector, who is witty and very to the point. And of course the magnificent building and organ, and what the new Rector referred to as "extravagant worship". Quite the experience, and what I needed to salve the spirit and offer up Thanksgiving for 5 wonderful years.

All is just fine on the mammogram front, so that is all done for another year.

Clothes I bought were two cashmere sweaters (resale of course) and a pair of leggings which I got at Bloomingdale's. I went to the back of the trendy designers section to the moderately priced labels and got a salesperson to help me. I walked away with a fabulous pair that were moderately-priced. Amazing what a good pair from a top label can cost. The Michael Kors tunic cashmere top is just perfect with these, and I will do ankle boots. I might as well show off those legs (and what an incentive to keep them fit and strong).

Other shopping was for ideas and closet-mining. No, I don't spend $2500 on a coat. But I will look at how it's all put together and recreate the look with items I own. Those ankle boots I snagged for $50 back in June were quite the find.

Enough for now. Work awaits, and I am behind on everything as had a small project I had to turn around immediately when I got home yesterday. And an early night. Loving how everyone here is listening to the voices. Have to say that doing weights/crunches again feels really great. As did my walk to see the colors and breathe in the fresh air last night.

Catch up more later. - Claire

Sounds like a great trip, Claire.

This Walking Wednesday's weather dawned a chilly 30 degrees but, thankfully, it wasn't windy.  Here is where we walked. The sun was just coming up and everything was a lovely lilac color. I subbed this afternoon, and will go to Zumba tonight. I have been downing Alka Seltzer Plus all day, so have been doing okay.

Great trip Claire.  Normal is a good thing Red. Congrats!

Cheryl and Ruth, hope you both continue to feel better with each day.

As for exercise, I went to bootcamp last night but did not get to the gym today as I had to work late. Will be going to bootcamp again tomorrow night.
