Mild here, so went out and snatched up some dandelion greens that I had spotted during my run earlier. They make the best salad, and last time I looked, very few people mind if you take all you want.
I think the run is helping clear out the cold. At least, that's my theory.
Otherwise, a quiet day at home. Reading a fascinating book on stem cells and their potential. Snagged a nice pair of ballet flats on eBay to replace the ones I am ready (overdue?) to retire.
Ready to kick it tomorrow. Nice to have freshly trimmed and colored hair. - Claire

Today no exercise aside from shoveling a little snow. Yesterday I survived the Stepped up Kickbox class - my first time back to workout class in quite some time
It wasn't pretty, but I made it through, lol. I am excited to share that I have been chosen to receive a 6wk small group training pkg from a trainer who is medically certified, and has chosen to give this pkg to a group of breast cancer survivors at no cost. I feel like I won the lottery! I begin with him on Tuesday morning. Thank you for the welcomes, I appreciate it. 0 -
2/22- been off a bit this week with my routines, but did do a 50 min resistance training work out at the gym tonight. Going to get back on track this week and see the personal trainer again on Friday for a check in!

Hey that is awesome, Longisland!

A couple of days off for me as last wednesday I jumped up to answer the phone in my warehouse and darn if I didn't run smack bam into a box which actually felt more like a rock and I think I broke my little toe, my foot is very bruised and still sore so I decided to give myself a few days off.
Beautiful picture Heidi I hope you are feeling better. Wow Badger 30,000 so glad you shared with us, and TH didn't you know that "what happens in Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas"
LARock congrats what fabulous progress. Raining here too Kathy although this morning I was cleaning out the garage and the sun was blazing. Sid goes home tomorrow, I shall miss being the seeing eye person for my little charge but I shan't miss the 3am treks up and down the street in my pyjamas so he can go potty.

Ouch, Cheryl!! Hope your toe heals quickly and the pain lessens!! You are a great caregiver to Sid!! Raining again here!!

Hey y'all!!!
Been off the wagon for way too long but have a new plan. Since I'm way outa the early morning habit and having a really, really, really hard time getting to the gym for my 6am class I'm gonna start slow. Instead of getting up at 5am or so 5 days a week I'm going to try getting up a little before 6am 2-3 days a week and try to at least get in 30 minutes of something at the gym. I'm hoping this will jump start my body (and my mind) back into a regular early morning routine again.
That being said, I got in a little less than 30 minutes on the treadmill today plus a little stretching. Plus, I'm going to try to stay more up to date on reading this thread for incentive. Love to all!

TwoHobbies, away on a cruise (lucky you) and was gold star good on daily walking..did son go with you? S&S, good to see you back and Cheryl, ouchie and please, look down more often. Heidi, lovely photo.

Yoga this morning & I will go to Zumba tonight. I think that will be the only night class I will get to this week because there is too much going on!

BE SURE TO READ THIS!

Even though the weather says no, the calendar says that it is, indeed, time think about SUMMER FUN!
Five years ago patoo, hbcheryl, badger, and I decided that we would like to meet up in real time; so we planned a long weekend in Minneapolis, had a blast, and since then have made it an annual tradition. We have been delighted to joined by fellow adventurers (and local ladies from each spot) along the way....Chicago, Washington DC, and last year we toured the California coast from LA to San Francisco. It is now time to start organizing for this summer's fun. We really, truly hope that YOU will consider joining us! Here is a very rough sketch. If you have more questions or are 'in' send me or one of the other gals a PM.
2015 BCO SUMMER ADVENTURE
Saturday June 13- ruthbru, patoo, sweetandspecial, hbcheryl, twohobbies, badger plan to be in San Diego by about noon. hbcheryl will be driving, and the rest of us flying in. We plan to stay downtown that night & Sunday night doing 'San Diego Tourist Things' ....what exactly that means is yet to be determined, but one of those days we would like to get together with 'The San Diego Ladies' for lunch or dinner (we could also do a lunch on Monday). Cheryl is the charge of setting up the details because she goes to some of the San Diego lunches. If you live in the area but don't go to the BCO lunches, and want to meet up with us, let us know and we will work something out.
* Monday June 15 at 4pm we can check into the Wyndham Oceanside Pier Resort, where we have reserved two two bedroom suites. The resort has a restaurant, library, pool, game room, lounge & is right across from the pier and ocean beaches. It looks like there is a restaurant at the end of the pier, lots of neat restaurants in the town of Oceanside, the historic Mission San Luis Rey, a Surf Museum, shopping, and the Oceanside Pier Plaza Amphitheatre (I don't know if they have any performances when we are there, nothing is up yet on their website). Anyway.....it sounds like a beautiful place to spend some time. We will have plenty of room, as long as you are flexible (in attitude) and don't mind sharing accommodations with people you don't even know.
We check out and head for home Friday June 19th. Badger's lovely mother has a time share with Wyndham and has offered to let us use her points for our rooms, so there will be no lodging cost for those nights (other than to chip in some money for a fabulous thank you gift!!!!!).We met a lots of California ladies on our trip last summer & several of them will be joining up with us at various points during the week. NisaVilla is hosting a barbecue, slowdeepbreaths is cooking Italian for us, whippetmom and kindergarten will catch up with us at Oceanside....and we are waiting to here from some more of last year's ladies as well. If you are from California and want to meet up with us at Oceanside, let us know & we'll let you know more details as we get things organized.
These trips have really been extraordinary and wonderful experiences. I hope you will consider joining us if you can!

Yesterday and today I walked on the treadmill for 35 minutes and have also done some gentle yoga/stretches. Over the past 3-4 days I have felt so much better and feel like I am emerging from my postop fog. I'm using this week to try and resume more of a routine as I will soon start back to work.
Ruthbru: the San Diego trip sounds wonderful. My summer vacation time will be very limited as my coworkers have been working overtime and definitely get first dibs on time off during warm weather. It will be fun to hear all about the group's adventures.

Next year, Homer!

after 5 snow days, our last day of school is 6/19. Sorry I won't make it to CA!

Today I added 10 min to my eliptical/treadmill jaunt. 20 min on each for a total of 3 1/3 miles. I feel for the first time since beginning treatment that I am finally back on my path. Excited about my first session with the personal trainer tomorrow morning. Ruth, I am going out to California in April to visit with my best friend. This trip is a dream come true. I haven't seen him in 3 years, and I am going alone to spend a week with him and his boys. My husband is amazing in understanding & approving of this trip. I already know it will be one of the best memories of my life and I am so grateful to be healthy and able to go!

Way to go LongIsland

LARock - congrats on the milestones!
Badger - that's right...I forgot it is getting close to Merlefest time! I hope you have a blast!
My exercise was doing lots of crazy chores and cleaning for my daughter's bday party on Saturday night. It wore me out, so I didn't do anything yesterday and then worked too much today, so I'm logging in a big fat goose egg. Argh!! I should have a short day tomorrow so I will be listening for the voices so I can do something active!
Goodnight all -

Last week was a light week since we had 5" of snow with sleet on top of it. Plowing is basically just the highways and some main roads, no neighborhood streets. It was pure ice for 5 days.
Got 2 days of exercise in this week. Yoga, TRX and kettle bells. Leaving tomorrow for AL, as our son is becoming a full fledged helicopter pilot for the Army. More snow on the way, but, I guess I don't have to worry about that!
Ruth, sounds like quite a trip! Too many irons in the fire for me, right now. Welcome to all those that have started with their exercise program.
I guess that bastard of a groundhog was correct, after all, with the prediction of 6 weeks more of winter!

Nothing for me this morning. Easing back into the early morning routine so I'm trying for MWF workouts with T/Th rest days for now. Getting groceries during my lunch hour today so that'll be some brisk walking while pushing a cart. Tonight will be household chores.
Have a great day everyone!

I'm in CA, and that gathering sounds amazing...
I walked about 1.2 miles yesterday.

Sounds like a nice gathering and hope all going have a blast.
In the gym all day and pretty tired.

A productive day: Cardio Sculpt this morning, got all the tax information to the tax guy this afternoon, will cheer on the high school basketball teams tonight.

One thing Ruth didn't tell you and it's probably because maybe I didn't tell her is that Oceanside is the gateway into Camp Pendleton so there should be a lot of nice young "eye candy" around town too
.Cassie if you'd like you could drive down to me and I'll drive down or you could take the train down and I'll pick you up. My foot is still sore as all heck but it's dance night so I'll put on my clunky old nice wide Easy Spirits and go to dance. LIL hope you enjoyed your time today with your trainer. Olaf have a wonderful time in AL you must be a very proud Momma. Mel housework certainly counts. My friend is here from the UK and one of his daughters is in Atlanta working this week, she is coming on Friday night to surprise him and her sister so I have to clean without anyone knowing and darn if we didn't have rain so at some point I need to clean at least one window.......

40 minutes aquatics aerobics 15 minutes sit down stepper 10 minutes arm cycle 5 minutes stretc

Go aurora! Cheryl ouch on the toe. Sounds like something I would do!
Olaf congrats to your son. I'm sure you're so proud of him.
Odie we went on Carnival out of Port Canaveral, Eastern Caribbean. The itinerary was Grand Turk, San Juan, and St. Maarten but bad weather cropped up and we had to skip San Juan, so that was too bad. What islands are you going to?
Yes, Lilac our son went with us and he really enjoyed the eating and 24 hour food. I enjoyed not having to feed him myself 24 hours a day!
I am ashamed to say I have no exercise to report today unless standing in line at the post office to pick up the mail counts. Now I have to pay bills. I hope by tomorrow I'll have caught up some on the "back to real life" tasks and can get some free time for exercise!

2/24-30 laps at the pool this afternoon! Followed by a soak in the hot tub and some time in the steam room. Ahhh....
Ruth- I won't be able to make this year either, but maybe some time and appreciate you telling us all about it in case we could come. I can't wait to hear about the fun you have and the pics you will share afterwards!

Hi everyone, I've been off the forum for a few days. Welcome to the newbies! Thanks for all the positive vibes re: my possible something under the right arm, as it turns out I did not get it checked-it seems to come and go. So perhaps related to activity. It occurred to me that there is a not a high likelihood that there would be anything there.......BS took all the lymph nodes from that side so it can't be lymph node involvement. Sometimes I think I obsess about it......
As for exercise, I did the rowing machine for 4K on Saturday and then taught CPR and first aid to some of the coaches at my rowing club, then on Sunday I did 6K on the machine. Got home late from work yesterday, so did some power-resting.....LOL. 30 minutes of yoga/pilates tonight before dinner. I have really come to love the effect of the yoga and pilates....it is so much easier to bend over to pick things up, etc. The only problem is that once I get down on the floor it's hard to get up......crappy knee!
Wish I could join you in California, we are trying to arrange a trip to Seattle in late April/early May to see our son, and then we have another trip to the beach in July. With all the snow pics, someone requested a beach pic, so here's one for y'all......

30 mins treadmill. Hope to soon pull out of this rut and get back to the gym and the pool. At least the voices make me hop on the treadmill (or is it the food I keep stuffing down my throat?)
Can't wait for our 'Summer Fun' trip. Since one sister is going to Dubai and Shanghai and the other is going (I think) to Ghana, this might be my biggest trip this year which is okay after 2 cruises plus CA in 2014. My wallet can use a break!
