Would love to see you dancing around your house, Ruth!
Visited a friend this morning. Walked this afternoon.

We had a sub in Yoga yesterday & we did something I had never heard of before, Gravitational Yoga. It's a series of strengths, each which you hold for 2 to 5 minutes.......which is harder than it sounds. Today I will go to Flow Yoga & probably dance around the house some more

First day with two shoes. Went for a short walk - 20 minutes - and my foot is sore, but I don't think it is swollen. It is really now just the area around the second toe (top, bottom and the toe). The walk I did normally wouldn't take more than 15 minutes. It felt great to walk. I will take a couple walks tomorrow - but keep them to this distance. Anything longer will require the boot. Tomorrow morning, the plumber is supposed to come - time frame is 9am - 12noon. Our bathroom sink is clogged and even with a snake, DH could not get it unclogged. This plumber also does our main drain to make sure the old clay pipes don't break from tree branches as that is quite an expense to repair. A problem many, many houses in my neighborhood have to deal with.
Finally got my mother's china out of the cabinet - lots in bubble wrap and some in china containers. Going to wash it all and start using it. It's Mikasa - white with a silver ring around it. Quite plain yet classic.
Happy to have the long week-end.

Glad you are bootless, Karen! We just had a plumber at our house last week too. I love having and using things with a family history/connection......which would be most of my furniture, pictures, and some of my dishes. You will enjoy using your mom's china, both for the beauty and the connection.

Went to yoga last night...I was distracted the whole time...not what you are looking for in yoga! Woke up this morning with a sore ankle, like I twisted it, but don't remember doing so, so will take it slow and easy walking around today. We don't get the holiday off, so am at school. Happy Monday! TT

Zumba & snow shoveling for me this morning. We are in an 'active system'......which is bad, on Wednesday I am hoping to fly off to Florida to meet up with some old friends.

TT: Hope your ankle feels better tomorrow!
Ruth: If you can't make it to Florida, visit your sister. It's going to be in the lower 80s on Thursday.
Walked/ran this afternoon. Didn't need my sweatshirt, just a tee shirt.

Ruth - hope you make it to FL.
It was gorgeous in Denver today - low 60s and plenty of sun. I managed a walk during the work day. When I left work at 3:40 it was still nice out. When I got home about 30 minutes later I went for a walk and it was much colder and windy. Watching the news and it's now 43F, the wind picked up. 3-6" predicted for Denver. Even colder on Thursday with below zero Thursday morning. Snow will be off and all day - both morning and afternoon commute.
I have lab draw at 7:45 tomorrow morning so I'll get to work about an hour late. I usually greet and work with a student at 7:30 when she gets to school. Today was a professional development day, but this school had no school, so I was not able to let the kiddo know. I just emailed the team to see who can greet the student and let them know I'll be late. Sure hope someone reads email tonight or early tomorrow morning!
Stay safe and stay warm

Looks like Thursday's weather will be very strange across the US depending on where you live. We will be breaking high temperatures on Thursday with temps getting into the lower 80s. The weatherpeople are going nuts talking about it. Like TT, our temp today was 72 and the same for tomorrow. Then on Saturday it's in the 40s and rainy.
I walked earlier today than I normally do. The wind was picking up throughout the day and I don't like to walk in windy weather.

Yikes, I hope all your tests come out okay, Karen.
We did make it to Florida, getting out just in the nick of time, as I think the whole state shut down behind us. It was a LONG travel day but all went well. We stopped and ate dinner the way back from airport, got settled in, and have been visiting the night away. Since we have been up since 3:30 am, we will sleep in but tomorrow I'll send some pictures of the walk on the beach that I will take no matter what else we do!

Two hour delay for school this morning due to severe weather. So I won't miss too much with my appointment this morning. Glad I scheduled the appointment for morning rather than afternoon. -10F or -23C now at 5:45am ( with windchill advisery) High will be 19F/-7C. 40s Friday and 50s by Saturday through Tuesday then cooling again and maybe more snow.
The hydration is protocol when calcium numbers increase. After looking at Dr. Google and my last labs, I'm thinking they are the same as the fall which were more specific calcium and tests related to parathyroid. High calcium is related to hyperparathyroid as well as kidney disease which I have both. Endocrinologist is watching parathyroid as numbers weren't too bad rather than surgery. It will be interesting to see what she decides now. I guess till she has more numbers. I get my next Prolia mid April - don't think I was to see her as well. Was stressed last night but as I read Dr. Google, I wasn't worried. Only change is higher calcium numbers. Still waiting on rest of labs from yesterday. They aren't posted on patient portal yet.
Have a great Thursday

Karen: Glad Dr. Google was able to ease your mind. Hope all went well this morning for you.
Ruth: Great picture! Amazing that you're wearing shorts. Enjoy the sun and warmth.
No formal exercise today. Did a little shopping.

Brought my car to be serviced this morning. Had lunch with a friend. She ordered triple chocolate cheesecake which we shared. Now all I want is something sweet to eat.
Walked/ran late this afternoon.

Walked on the beach this morning and then toured the 75 room mansion of the guy who started the tourism industry in Florida. One of the industrialists of the Gilded Age, Henry Flagler. Very opulent!

Love the pictures you've been sharing Ruth.
Wonder, I love chocolate but could not eat triple chocolate cheese cake - it would be too rich for me.
Can't remember what I wrote the other day so forgive me if I'm repeating myself. Hematologist is going to repeat labs on Monday before my appointment based on results last week with Calcium being too high. PTH was elevated but a little lower than 4 months ago. I'm curious what other labs were drawn on Thursday as there were 4 vials, but I think I have all my results in the patient portal. They are all over the place, but I'm sure some are not concerning. It seems like everything that is wonky is related to kidney disease and parathyroid disease which I have both. Not sure how to read the light chain (related to MGUS) scores so will wait till Monday when he tells me. Two of 3 are similar to last year, but one is elevated higher than before. It's always something. I hope that DH goes with me. He gets home late from a 6 day whirlwind trip in Italy with DD#2. We'll have to take 2 cars so I can go onto work as soon as appointment is done. We are only 4 miles from the clinic but work is in the other direction than home.
Gorgeous weather today. I went for 2 walks - I think the second one sent me over the edge and it was the shorter one - I think I pulled my hamstring on the side I had the stress fracture, but it felt so good to be outside. First real walks in 6 weeks. Sat in the back year a little too. Weather is supposed to be nice through Tuesday and Wednesday snow is in the forecast. We have had snow almost every Wednesday since the start of the year. But they say only a couple inches for Denver.
Going to bake Hamentashen tonight. I like baking them before Purim (which is March 6th at night and March 7th) so we are done once Purim is here. Making poppy seed, apricot and choc chip fillings. Need son to come by this week and get some as well as some of the cake in the freezer. He forgot when he came by last week to borrow DH's car while his tire was being fixed. I know DD#1 would love me to mail some, but I don't know if I want to hassle with the foreign mailing as well as the cost.

We went to a Botanical Garden and a Farmers Market, plus I got my beach walk in; it was a great day to be outside, 82 degrees with a nice breeze (Florida is usually too humid for me, but today it was perfect!).

Baked 4 1/2 dozen hamentashen. Texted my son to tell him I had a dozen apricot for him and he was so excited. I also have a few dozen poppy seed and about a dozen chocolate. Decided to mail DD#1 and SIL a small package. I knew I would change my mind.
DD#2 has landed back in Israel from the whirlwind trip to Italy. DH is in flight to ATL then 3 hour layover till flight to DEN. He went to the airport early as DD's flight was 2+ hours earlier than his. It was a jammed pack trip - he said 25K was a low step day, some days 35K steps. He never walks that much. They were exhausted and just relaxed on Saturday. I think his flight arrives home around 10:30, so I'll go in my jammy pants as I won't be getting out of the car. I hope the ATL to DEN flight is not delayed.
Well, it turns out all the labs weren't back when I last posted. Got the last of my labs last night. SO now that accounts for all 4 vials on Thursday. One was another PTH test and the last another calcium that was even higher. These tests were also run in October by my medical oncologist. I guess they are going to run them again tomorrow. The PTH is okay, still elevated but no higher, so what do I make of all this. I told DH last night, I'm tired of the roller coaster - it seems that there is always something now when I have labs. For someone "healthy", I sure do have a lot going on and I'm not old (yet). Well, I feel old now that I've been on Medicare.
Meeting a gf this morning for coffee - somehow we always gab for over 2 hours She is a retired teacher who subbed in my building after she retired. She taught kdg for 50 years then subbed for another 25 years (all elementary grades). She was a master teacher!!! This afternoon I have an "unveiling" - it is where the tombstone is formally uncovered for a dear friend and her son who passed away last year, less than 2 weeks apart. He was only 66 and had just been diagnosed and started treatment for cancer. His mother was going on 91. I had visited her every Saturday for 7 years and know here for many more years. I think her son died of a broken heart more than from the cancer treatment.
Going to try a walk before I meet my girlfriend so there is a longer period of time between taking 2 walks.
Ruth - gorgeous photo. When do head back to the deep freeze? Glad you had good weather in FL. Remind me where you were.
Have a great Sunday.

Hope they can get all your tests sorted out, Karen. It's mentally tiring to be on that roller-coaster.
We are on the east coast of Florida; about an hour north of Palm Beach. Today was a beach & pool day. When I walk, if I go to the left I end up at the Dog Beach....which I enjoy very much!

Ruth - love the picture of the wet dog on the towel. DD#2 loves watching the dogs on the dog beach.
Well, news was not good at the hematologist. He is worried about my calcium being high and quite annoyed with the endocrinologist who put me on calcium. He is also worried about multiple myeloma as one of the light chains has risen significantly. He's also concerned because of the stress fracture in my foot (which is not healed yet). So I am scheduled for a bone marrow biopsy Wednesday morning and see the endocrinologist in the afternoon. Also need to schedule appointment with PCP sooner than later. The hematologist was going to call the endocrinologist and give the you know what!!! He must have called as someone from the practice called after I made the appointments saying the endocrinologist wanted me to come in for labs this week!!! I told her I had just made an appointment for Wednesday afternoon. Hematologist moved my appointment from the Wednesday the 1st to today as he is concerned about the labs. He feels that I need xray of my bones and he is considering putting me on Xgeva - it is the same a Prolia but given monthly. He doesn't think I have hyperparathyroidism as my PTH is not so elevated. My head was spinning when I left. His nurse was in for the appointment and as we were done, I asked her what my next steps were and she said, I'm taking you to schedule the bone marrow biopsy. Thankfully DH was with me. He figured it would be another boring appointment. Well, it was far from boring.
I was numb by the time I got to work - couldn't think straight. Needed to help deal with some behaviors and didn't get to look at my calendar so forgot something but no one was upset or concerned about it. I spoke with the principal and she is so understanding. She asked how she and the rest of the wellness team could support me, then gave me a big hug. This is only my third week covering and she told me that I fit right in and she is glad that I'm there covering. I'm supposed to have my mid year conversation with my evaluator tomorrow but I might have to reschedule it as it is when I have recess/lunch duty. I was going to have the intern cover it for me, but she tested positive for Covid and will be out tomorrow. I told the principal I might come in Wednesday before my appointment 7:30 - 9:00 and she looked at me like I was crazy. I told her I would text her Wednesday morning depending how I was feeling and if I needed the distraction. I have to be at the hospital at 10 for the bone marrow biopsy at 11. It will be done with conscious sedation - no eating 8 hours before the procedure.
Sorry for rambling - I guess it tells you the state of my mind. My DH is so amazing. He has been through so much with me. I go back to the hematologist on the 13th to get results of the bone marrow biopsy. Just need to know what I'm facing, if I'm facing anything serious as once I know what the game plan is, I can deal with it.
Sweet dreams.

Oh gosh, Karen, I am so sorry you have to deal with all of this! Sending a big hug your way!.
I walked on the beach and we went to a safari where you stayed in the car and the animals roamed about freely. Pretty cool!

Oh my goodness, Karen. Thankful your dh is home from Italy so he can be by your side. And thankful for your supportive principal. Please know that I am holding you in my prayers. Hope you get some answers this week.

Didn't sleep well last night. Went to be at 10:30, woke up at 1 and layed down on the sofa till 2 then got back into bed and awake at 4 - out of bed at 4:45. i'm a wreck this morning, so hoping I'll be more clear minded at work today. DH commented that he didn't think I was on my game yesterday. I decided that I'm not going to go into work before the test tomorrow. It really won't be a distraction and all I'll do is worry. Still waiting on lab results from yesterday.
Thanks everyone for your caring.

Oh no Karen, sending love and hugs. It is such a whirlwind. TT

Thinking of you, Karen. 💓

Thanks everyone. Hematologist's office called to tell me that Calcium level came down, though still elevated and kidney function was better. So that is good news. Still lots of questions for the Endocrinologist. Scared and worried about the bone marrow biopsy. I know that I will face and run with whatever is put in front of me. My DH has said a few times in the past couple days that there is so much going on with me. Yup, he's right and he has been there every step of the way. We are approaching his 3rd anniversary of his open heart surgery. We are so lucky that it was caught when it was and how great he is doing. Hopefully, we can grow old together.
I'm not going into work tomorrow before the bone marrow biopsy. I actually think it would be worse for me. I need to get a birthday card for DD#2 who is turning 25 on the 19th. I want to get a happy 25 card. Will go get one tomorrow morning so we can get it in the mail. DD#1 has been texting me asking what I'm getting DD#2 for her b'day. I told DD#1 that the trip was her birthday present. I know she will celebrate with her friends as they do for everyone's b'day.
I've been taking it easy with walking - only one walk/day after dinner with DH. I've got a knot on my toe and my foot still hurts, but not ready to go back to the Podiatrist. Don't want anymore of the boot.
Snow is back in the forecast for tomorrow/Thursday but at least it won't be as brutally cold as last week and only a couple inches predicted.

Karen: Sending a Big North Carolina (((HUG))) to you. Hope today went as good as it could.
Ruth: Did you make it home?
Walked/ran late this afternoon.
