A name change — isn't really going to make the thing work. You broke it and it's a goner.

Divine, have you seen Oppenheimer? It is very historically accurate (which as a history nerd is something I very much enjoy). I don't want to give anything away, but it shows him as the very complicated man (which he was), dealing with very complicated issues (which they were). I would love to discuss it more once people who plan to go have had a chance to see it.

As for Cruz & Barbie, he is mad because there is a cartoon map of the world drawn in crayon which is bugging him. It is too stupid for me to explain, so here are his own words. "They’ve drawn what are called 'the nine dashes,' which is, this is Chinese communist propaganda, which the Chinese are
asserting sovereignty over the entirety of the South China Sea. And they
don’t have any right to it under international law. It’s blatantly false and it’s Chinese propaganda."

*Somehow I don't think most of the Barbie audiences are into geopolitics & there are apparently no other problems in the world which might need addressing.

Ruth, great description of everything and very much MTG.

So "X" marks the demise of the twitter bird? I thought it was used by the illiterate as their signature, by pirates to mark where the hidden treasure was located and as the unknown in math ratio equations. So now it becomes the grave marker for a blue bird, thanks to a moron posing as a genius.

I do not mourn this bird though, because I have yet to understand much of social media's need to "put it all out there" for others to read and comment on. This forum is as close to social media as I am willing to go.

Great memes and agree that MTG is subzero in IQ.

Ruth, I haven’t seen Oppenheimer yet. Ds and I made plans to go see it in early next month. Thanks for your review, I am happy to hear about the historic accuracy as that makes me happy, too. A couple other movies about complicated men that I really enjoyed were “A Beautiful Mind” about Nobel Prize mathematician John Nash (won numerous Oscars) and “The Imitation Game” about Alan Turing, another mathematician who broke Nazi secret codes during WWII, helping to win the war. No doubt you’ve seen both of movies.

I, too, always thought the X was used for and by people who were illiterate to sign their name on legal documents. Well, and what about X-mas? Somehow the X was supposed to stand for Christ tho I never understood that part. Maybe Musk thinks he’s God reincarnate?

I have one genealogy record found on line where the relative's name was listed as "Her X Mark" instead of her given name. Still shaking my head about that one.

The reason many Cajun last names end in "x" when the French equivalents don't is because of illiterate farmers, trappers, and laborers who came south from Canada. On papers, the clerk or clergyman wrote out their French name, and they would mark it with an x to make it their signature.

    Boudreau → Boudreaux
    Thibodeau → Thibodeaux
    Faucheau → Faucheaux

How interesting Miriandra about names ending in X. Count me as well as having thought it was used mainly by those who could not write their names. Well just let Twitter go down with no name. Betrayal, like you I never had nor wanted a Twittter account. I had at first to be dragged kicking and screaming almost to take to Facebook. I knew it was there long before I used it — and for the most part, even then I only put in a quote or sometimes a comment to a friend. I'm not a REAL user as such because I figure no one cares what I'm doing and I don't have a lot of time for cute little messages about going to Walmart or washing my hair.

I really don't see how they could, but if they managed in some way the Reps. party would be sure to end, I think. Also, the Senate would never go along.

Most would have to await a trial for what he has done in jail somewhere. I'm sure he has no appreciation at all for the fact his fat derriere isn't sitting in the clink right now.

Faith is not only daring to believe, it is also daring to act.  When I believe
in myself as a son of God, I attribute to all people the same quality. This
goes for people of every class, creed and color. The proof that I believe
this way will be measured by the way I act towards others. . . .  To me God
is all the goodness in the universe, available to me here and now, and it is
up to me to help convert that goodness into action.  "God is love," but He
is infinitely more than that. God is love, hope, courage, good will, peace--
He is all the eternal, everlasting, indestructible values of ongoing creative
life.  With God underneath my life I have the faith to build toward the stars.

Hi Ladies! I just wanted to share an update on our union. A local paper did an article on us and uncovered some interesting info on the owner. He is over a year in arrears for obtaining a massage business license, and has apparently just been issued a court date by the city. His negligence can only be seen as intentional and malicious. I hope the judge slams him hard.

I’ve been lurking, having problems signing in.

Saw where DuhSantis was in a car wreck in Tennessee yesterday. He’s ok, darn it.

DH was a good catholic boy, had the Latin masses. Seems like he said once the X stands for Christ in Latin. Or something to do with Latin.

As for me, I’m doing ok, waiting for labs to see where my tumor markers are going.

I thought Duhsantos only took luxury jets?

Oh, he was burning through so much $$ he had to cut his staff 40%. Those private jets are expensive. It was a 4 car caravan up to Chattanooga. Traffic had slowed and they didn’t.

And tomorrow is Thursday, some say Mr Smith will release the indictment. 🎶🎶Celebrate 🎶🎶 love that song. Wooohoooo
