Saw a sigh today from a Harris-Walz supporter:
Dates to Remember:
December 7, 1941
September 11, 2001
January 6, 2021
Every one represents a day of infamy. Lest we forget.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Defeating Trump isn't enough. No Republicans deserves to win.
Former President Trump campaigns with steelworkers in Latrobe, Pa., on Oct. 19. ((Matt Rourke / Associated Press))
To the editor: Kudos to columnist Jackie Calmes for listing her top 10 reasons not to vote for Donald Trump. But it's not only the former president who doesn't deserve our votes; it's the whole Republican party.
By its cult-like blind allegiance to Trump, the Republican Party has forsaken its legitimacy. Voters can deliver a reckoning on this party’s irresponsibility by defeating its candidates soundly.
Many Republican policy positions — on healthcare, women's right to choose, foreign affairs, immigration, even the future of democracy — do not reflect the will of the American people. On the climate crisis alone (an unfortunate omission from Calmes' list), voting for Trump and other Republicans threatens a safe and healthy future for humanity. The disease, death and destruction caused by burning coal, oil and gas is becoming catastrophic and irreversible.
Until Republicans get serious about the critical issues that Americans care about, they don't deserve our votes.

This is exactly my thinking! My former school is in a fiscally sound district and we have a lot more than some other public schools but we still ask parents to donate glue sticks and tissues (district never supplies enough and they are the worst quality). Will we now have to ask for donations of surgical supplies? Only kidding, of course, but the notion that such a thing is actually happening in public schools is not only absurd but defies logic !

If you click on this it will take you to an article that explains why some states are so pro-abortion and it is not for the welfare of a woman or the child. Sad that we have been reduced to a "warm body".

I recently shared a meme on FB about mandating vasectomies for all men until they're ready to be a father. Vasectomies are reversible, after all, and it's easier to unload a gun than it is to buy kevlar vests. A friend of mine replied that vasectomy recovery is only around 60% (it's actually 60-95%, depending on the individual), and even after a successful reconstruction fertility can still remain at a mere 50% (actual rates are over 50% successful overall). He said he recognized that it was a reductio ad absurdum argument intended to highlight the importance of women's autonomy, but he still didn't like seeing the idea of mandated vasectomy tossed about so casually. When I replied that a family could still have IFV, and viable sperm can be harvested from the epididymis, he responded with the high cost of the procedure.
I declined to state that I really didn't care if some men experienced a drop in fertility after the procedure, especially when there were treatments in place to help alleviate it should they choose. I also didn't point out the irony of bemoaning that children might become a privilege of the wealthy; when historically, saddling a woman with multiple children was a means of keeping her in poverty or financially dependent on others.

miriandra, he needs to remove his head from his ass since his response fails to recognize the toll any pregnancy, especially an unwanted one, takes on a woman's body. Has he investigated the cost of maternal/child care, if available or affordable, for each pregnancy? So IVF would be more costly than a mandated pregnancy and child-rearing?
Sounds like a repugnican to me or a confirmed bachelor. Yes, IVF is expensive but so is the male population like Elon or Nick Cannon who continue to impregnate women and have nothing to do with the rearing of those children and I'm not sure of they offer financial support to the mothers.
I don't know why the repugnicans would assume that women forced to have children would raise them to become repugnicans. Seems to me, if someone forced me to have an unwanted child, forced me to be a single parent and live in poverty, I would be looking for a political party that would stem or change this tide, this means definitely not them.

Well, then maybe the far right shouldn't just so casually say, " Have the baby and give it up for adoption."

Notice what happens when you doubt, suppress, or act contrary to
your feelings. You will observe decreased energy, powerless or
helpless feelings, and physical or emotional pain. Now notice what
happens when you follow your intuitive feelings. Usually the result
is increased energy and power and a sense of natural flow. When
you're at one with yourself, the world feels peaceful, exciting, and magical.

Living fairly close to Tesla’s Fremont factory, Teslas are very popular here but… the cyber truck? I have seen very few and though I can generally acknowledge that something is attractive, even if not to my taste, I simply can’t find anything complimentary to say about a vehicle that looks like an explosion at a sheet metal plant. To add insult to injury, I saw one last week that looked like someone had blasted it with black paint from a paintball gun! I guess there’s something for everyone in this world.

Good memes. Some made me wish for grrrr button, which we don't have, so it just became LOL instead. Of course, we all I think all been at the if we don't laugh we are going to cry stage. So many lies which are endless and the total absurdity of the orange buffoon who should never, ever been a candidate and certainly never elected.
Mind blowing to be here almost nine yrs. later fighting the same insanity. No wonder people are frustrated, disgusted, and really a bit pissed (I am anyway) that anyone could even consider the life abomination known as the FG. I so hope that we are seeing and feeling mainly mirages or people who just aren't saying what they are REALLY going to do on election day. It is one of the best thoughts I can muster for myself since all indicators seem to point to people being more than upset that we are facing this choice once again. A convicted felon, rapist, fraud, con, loser to the nth. degree and now demented and the media won't say so. That many on the rt. are trying to hold up as a standard bearer for their party. Are we off our rocker or what?? So, when I'm not nearly in tears I feel some consolation that people may just walk into the voting booth and give us such a surprise. I do hope they are just not saying much right now.
All I have is hope that there is some sanity at work — that people all over, in every state, not just EC ones are fed up, disgusted, super tired of choices that aren't really choices, and that they will silently march to the polls and annihilate that FB (B**tard) off the face of this earth with their vote this time once and for all.
