Chris, I am sorry to hear the results of the MRI but with God all things are possible, we will be praying for you and your doctor as you navigate a new course. And also that the God of all comfort will encourage your heart every moment of every day. We love you Chris!
Love, Wheatfields

Oh Chris, I'm so sorry that you received disappointing MRI results. I pray for divine comfort, strength, and peace as you and your family face this new challenge. Please know that we all love you.

Thank you all for your thoughts, love, and prayers. Things are moving quickly. My MO's office called and I have an appointment to see my oncologist tomorrow morning, and a CT scan scheduled for Friday morning: this is quick for them! It also scares me… That means I had med appointments five days in a row this week…ughh! I went ahead and went to my PT appointment today even though I would have rather just crawled under a rock, but I am glad I did. I feel like if I quit pushing myself I will start to fall—kind of like a glass incline. If you don't keep going, you slip. Anyways, I have lots of questions for the oncologist. I will let you know what she says.
Know I continue to pray for you all as I read through your posts.
Love, Chris

I had an appointment with my oncologist today. We are going to do a liver biopsy to see if my HER status has changed (it has been eight years since we last checked.) She said there is a tumor near the surface that should work well. If it has changed, she said there were more oral options available for me. If it has not changed then I would need to go on IV chemo as I am already on my fifth line of treatment. At that time I will weigh the benefits to see if that is what I want. She also said that it would do no good to increase my current med (Verzenio) as progression means it has run its course and would not work at any strength. Good to know.
Thank you for keeping me in your prayers.

Chris, I have been praying for wisdom for both you and your doctor. I didn't know she would rule out Verzenio. I pray the best possible solution for you. God has allowed you to defy all odds for a reason I think. With things happening so quickly I pray that he will give you peace and strength for your next steps.
One step at a time.
Love,
Nancy

@bandwoman1234 Thank you for your prayers. My biopsy is scheduled for Thursday. The results will help direct my next treatment. I am thankful it is soon as I tend to worry about these procedures.

Chris, I pray that God will give you peace as you face your biopsy on Thursday. I have been praying for wisdom for your doctor and for you as you move forward after the biopsy results. We are expecting 6 in of snow on Wed with possible ice thrown into the mix. I sure hope that your weather will not get in the way of your procedure for Thursday.
Love,
Nancy

Chris we are praying for you today, a peace that passes all understanding and a calm assurance that the Lord has you in the hallow of His hand. Praying that the biopsy goes well and there is a clear path of treatment.
My brother in law has heart bypass surgery today, their boys are there and made the day special yesterday for my sister, with a new valentine sweater, flowers and cupcakes for the staff at memory care. She doesn't quite understand why she couldn't also be at the hospital at 5:30 this morning. Nancy, last night on the phone with my sister I was trying what you called "the art of distraction" and yes, that does work pretty well. I think she was thinking that the boys would go with him to the surgery today and then go home. But I was explaining that they would be here a few days and she would get to spend time with them again. One of the can stay until next Tuesday and the other one till the 25th.
I hope you are all staying warm, it was -13 here this morning and we hadn't had hardly any snow all winter until a couple days ago we had 5 inches, so it's here to stay until spring.
Praying for you all!
Love, Wheatfields

Chris, praying that today's procedure was successful and pain free. I hope you are comfortably resting at home and receive the biopsy results soon.
Wheatfields, praying that your brother-in-law's surgery goes well today. I'm thankful that your nephews are in Arizona to support and encourage your brother-in-law and sister.
Nancy, my hat and earmuffs are still missing in action but I did find a pair of my old ski gloves. Neon purple with hot pink accents! They'll do in a pinch! ☺️

I am currently in recovery and in a lot of pain. P

Oh Chris, I just now read your post. I am praying right now for you for pain relief. I hope by the time you see this that they have given you something for the pain. Lord I ask that you would help Chris now in this situation to aleviate her pain.
Wheatfields, I hope your BIL's surgery went well today. I pray for pain control and for rapid healing. I am glad his boys are there. It sounds like they are very thoughtful sons. I am glad they will be there for a little while to be with him and your sister too. I am glad "the are of distraction" worked. It is actually quite sucessful for Cammie as well!
Your weather sounds like us. We have hardly had any snow but we got quite a bit on Wed but not as much as we thought. We are getting hit again on Friday and Sat. It is very cold here too. I had a dr apt today and the wind just made it so cold just walking from the parking lot to the clinic and back. Those predictors that said earlier that we would possibly have a mild winter were only fooling us !!!
Hershey, I hope you are more faithful in wearing your ski gloves than I have in not wearing my new gloves. I don't usually wear them unless I have to scrape off my car or if I am out for a long time. I bet you will find your had and ear muffs on one of these upcoming days of 90 degrees!!!!
Take care everyone. Chris, I will continue to pray through out the evening for you.
Love,
Nancy

Chris, how are you feeling today? Praying your pain is under control and that you can rest in God's bubble of peace.
Wheatfields, how is your BIL doing after his surgery?
Teka, that little kitty looks so cute.
I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day. I had breakfast with some teacher friends from long ago. We had a good time.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Love,
Nancy

Hi Everyone. Thank you for all of your prayers. My pain has diminished but I am uncomfortable a bit still and am working on gaining my strength as I return to eating. I plan on eating lunch and then take a shower—that will be the real test. I finally got out of bed and am sitting in the recliner for a bit. I am thankful for a loving husband who has taken charge even getting up at 3:30 this morning to give me something to eat when I woke feeling dizzy and hungry. This has been a situation far exceeding what was expected, but I am getting over it. God is good.

Chris, so thankful to hear the pain has diminished and continue to pray that you will soon be feeling much better and as you lean on the everlasting arms.
Nancy, I smiled when I read that the art of distraction also works with Cammie. My BIL is doing well after the surgery and moved today from ICU to a regular room. Their two boys took my sister to see him yesterday and today. They also took her out to her favorite place for supper tonight (Taco Bell). Of course she wonders why they can go to the apartment but she can't.
Teka - that is a cute Valentine! Hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day !
Love and prayer,
Wheatfields

Chris, Happy Birthday to You! 🎶 Wishing you a day filled with much love and special blessings!

@teka Amazing! That is a long time to fight and a mixed celebration that none of us want to have to earn.
Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes. I had a wonderful day in spite of not feeling great. We went out for my favorite fish and chips last night. I may have paid for the fried food and Bday cake with discomfort last night. I realized at 3:30 this morning that I can minimize my pain if I don't lie flat. The problem is I don't sleep well if I don't lie flat. Arghh! I tossed and turned all night with pain in my liver until I realized this. And I still have a sharp pain running down my neck since my biopsy. I resist going to the ER at all costs but I may end up calling this morning if things don't let up.

Chris, so glad you had a good birthday and were able to do something enjoyable in spite of pain. Praying that subsides today and you feel and sleep better!
Teka - keep warm and so glad you are doing well in the north country. It was -16 here this morning but we have some better days coming on the weekend.
Praying for all of you.
Love, Wheatfields

Chris, I am glad you got to go out for your birthday. I'm sorry that you still have so much pain. Going the ER is a real pain but if you persist with a lot of pain you may want to do just that.
Teka, I am five years behind you. Does that make you a seasoned veteran or something like that. 😍
I am thinking about purposely ripping off a couple of sheets on my calendar. Will that make it almost summer!!! Wheatfields we were -14 windchill last night. I thank God for my heated home and my heated car and pray for all the homeless that they have had someplace to sleep during this frigid weather.
Take care everyone.
Love,
Nancy

Teka, thank you for being a part of our little family. I appreciate you and your sweet posts.
Wheatfields and Nancy, those temperatures are downright frigid! I hope you don't have to go out and about too much during the arctic blast.
Chris, I'm so glad that you enjoyed your birthday. Fish, chips, and cake sound like a yummy dinner to me! I do hope your body pain subsides soon and you sleep much better tonight.
I received a letter from Social Security over the weekend stating that I may qualify for benefits and to submit an application before June 1. Our tax accountant/financial advisor said, "Do it!" For each year past full retirement age that someone waits to apply, it takes 100 months to recoup those benefits. The letter lists an SSA counselor's name, phone number, and extension to call, so I plan to do that later this week.
Keep warm, everyone!

Hershey,
I was waiting to send my taxes to my guy thinking there would be a slim chance of regaining the losses from WEP but when I heard that SS said it may take up to a year to process then I will drive my taxes to my guy asap.
If I am remembering correctly you haven't filed for SS at all, right? I haven't checked their website but a few weeks ago they were just asking to verify address etc.
With the way things are happening with the WH and cutting agencies to the bone I am really not holding my breath about getting benefits period as I keep hearing they want to slash those benefits as well.
Yes, if you haven't filed at all I agree with your accountant to do so soon.
Take care.
Love,
Nancy

Wheatfields, how is your friend doing? I was scanning through past notes and realized I missed an update.
Nancy, how are you doing in this storm? I hope you are able to stay in and stay warm. Are you feeling okay? This thread has been a bit quiet lately.
I slept until 11:00 this morning which is unusual for me, but I am still catching up from the night before when I only slept for a couple of hours, so I needed it. I do feel somewhat better today and no longer want to just give up. My pain is minimal now. I don't remember whether I posted that my DGD won silver for the state of Colorado for her self-choreographed dance routine for the PTA competition this year. She is only nine! Only first place winners advance to nationals but still that is special. It is my motivation to improve so we can drive to Denver in March and attend her awards ceremony (a two-hour drive.) I would love to go and stop and see a good friend along the way. Something to strive for. We have to go up and back the same day since my DD has to work the next night but I will try. At least my family understands if I have any problems.
Praying you all stay safe in these frigid temperatures. It does look like another week and perhaps we will start to warm up—at least here.

Chris, I am so glad to hear that you slept and are feeling better. I am doing very well. I have been walking every single day since Jan. and I have been adding a little antihistamine at night and I am sleeping well and feeling really good. I think it is all helping my immune system to ward off any germs out there because there are a lot of them. CONGRATULATIONS to your granddaughter. That is a huge accomplishment. I hope you will feel good so you can attend her Denver awards ceremony. If she is this creative at nine who knows what will be in her future. Great things I bet!
I am seeing Wicked tomorrow at the theater. I watched it two times when I rented the movie to see at home. It was so great I wanted to see it on a big screen so tomorrow is the day. I have an HOA meeting tonight so I need to get busy. I went out to mail some things earlier and even though the temp is a little improved it is still very cold. However there are some 40's in our ten day forecast so I am thrilled to see that coming.
Take care. Many prayers have been said for you.🌻🌻♥️

Nancy, how was "Wicked? My DH and I saw it in NYC the last time we were there visiting our son and we loved it. Great show and music.
I am doing better today although still sluggish. I have posted before how this disease makes me feel so useless sometimes. The Oswald Chambers devotional this morning responded to this thinking and reminded me:
We should quit asking ourselves, “Am I of any use?” and accept the truth that we really are not of much use to Him. The issue is never of being of use, but of being of value to God Himself. Once we are totally surrendered to God, He will work through us all the time.

Chris, I am glad you are feeling better. Oswald Chambers is always very deep and thought provoking. I hope you can rest in that truth you received today.
Wicked was FANTASTIC. The TV rental was good but there is no comparison to the big screen and the sound. Oh my gosh, the sound was surround sound and the scenery was just absolutely amazing. I may have mentioned this before but they planted 90 million tulip bulbs for this one scene that was so unbelievably amazing. All of the scenes were actually built as real structures. The whole thing was mind boggling hearing the behind the scenes interviews that I had the advantage of knowing going into this experience at the theater. So yes it was a great experience and a great diversion from all that is going on in our world.
I hope you can enjoy the weekend.
Love,
Nancy

How is everyone doing. Spring is definitey in the air. We hit over 50 yesterday and I think today as well. Snow has pretty much melted and hopefully for good for this season. Praying for each of you.

@teka , I love Winnie the Pooh. Thanks!
Nancy, thank you for the poster.
We hit 60 today although it will barely touch 40 tomorrow… My DH and I found a new Bar B Que place in the forest that is on our way home from PT. Great food for take-out. We bought pulled pork with potato salad but I wanted coleslaw for the leftovers so I made some today (thanks for grocery delivery.) I hope my stomach can take a little bit! I have more energy today thanks to my Physical Therapist. She massaged my neck and shoulders and we worked on stretching them and my back—definitely helped. I see my MO on Thursday for the update on my biopsy so I am a little nervous which perhaps explains my energy.

Thank you Teka for the winnie post. Your weather does not sound fun at all. I know spring wil eventually hit your area and all of ours soon.
Chris, I have been praying for you knowing that the waiting on results is so difficult. I have been praying for wisdom for your MO and for you and for some good solutions that will work for you.
Wheatfields, how is your BIL doing? Your sister? You? Your nurse friend?
Hershey, I hope you and your DH are doing well.
I just finished my Bible Study and need to sign off. Have a good night everyone.

Nancy
