It can get pretty cold; we'll pull the plug when it's pitch dark at 8am, or it's gotten icy.

Ruth: 27 degrees already! Yikes. The haunted cemetery sounds spooky and fun!
TT: WTG on being able to go to the gym 3 times already this week!
Badger: I meant to tell you that your pie looks like perfection. And yes, I like the zoom class. It's just me in my living room and that works well for me.
Spend time this afternoon emptying my refrigerator to find what was smelling so bad in it. Found it, thank goodness. It's amazing how items "disappear" into the back of the ref until I have a major clean out of it.
Walked this afternoon. Nice and cool but nothing like Ruth's.

Well, it was 45 today when I went to school so I wore my lightweight down puffer for the first time…off to the gym after school so that will make 4 times this week. TT

WTG TT! Gym always makes me feel good. Endorphins. 🥰
Wonderland, good on you for hunting down the bad item. I remember a few years ago Ruth’s chest freezer died and hoo boy THAT was a stinky mess. 🤢
Found out today the guy who enrolled me in group fitness classes (that I paid extra for - basic membership is paid by my health ins) was either confused or mislead me. I thought I paid for three months but no, it was three weeks. Really? OMG that was an expensive error. Not a happy camper. May have to try some online classes cuz I’m not writing another check. 😡

Yikes, badger, maybe you should look for a new fitness center. At mine (which is a community center) our classes are part of our membership fee. We don't pay extra for them.
I went to HIT today & took a nice trail walk with the dog.

Ruth, I wish we had a nice community center. There are two fitness centers here. Both are franchises of national companies. I like where I’m at, nice clean multi-gen gym, with all body types & fitness levels. The other one is a boys club. The owners are guys who compete in bodybuilding events. They listen to loud death metal music with horrible violent lyrics. The clients are mostly young male power lifters who grunt & swear. Not for me. I downloaded the club’s app which has daily workouts and will try that. Gotta say I am not sad to stop getting up at zero dark 30 to get ready for a 7am class.

I went to mat pilates & on a dog walk this morning. This afternoon I went to the funeral of an elderly teacher friend who was an absolutely amazing person. It would take pages and page to describe all the positive ways he affected our community and the people in it. Anyway, it was a real celebration of life.

Yoga & dog walking.

Ruth, that’s a legacy of a life well-lived. We all should be so fondly remembered.
Walked at lunchtime yesterday. Today was a farmers market day, shopping, and garden clean-up. Made pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting for family dinner tomorrow.

Two dogs walks yesterday. I woke up this morning feeling like I am getting a cold. So, I am going to lie low, drink lots of water, and try to nip it in the bud.

TT: Hope you can go to the gym as many days this week as you did last week.
Badger: Good grief, 3 weeks is definitely different from 3 months. Curious what you have decided to do.
Ruth: Your friend sounds amazing and will be greatly missed.
Walked Friday with a friend and then met another friend in the afternoon to play Mah Jong. I'm slowly improving. Slowly lol.
Saturday was a huge festival in my city. This is the 41st year for it. I have sold many Pepsi's and parked many cars. Like last year, this year I got to actually enjoy the festival and leave when I wanted to leave. DD and I went together while dh helped park cars.
Yesterday dh and I visited a farm in our county bc I wanted a local pumpkin to carve for Halloween. They had some creative photo ops.
Today has been rainy and will continue for several days.

Fun pics, Wonderland!
Hope you are feeling better, Ruth.Went to the gym this afternoon. Appealed to the manager and got some “free” coaching sessions from a personal trainer. Will use them in the coming weeks.

Sounds, and looks, like fun times, Wonderland!
My cold is a light one so I feel 'okay'. I have my flu & Covid booster scheduled for this afternoon; so we'll see how I feel tomorrow!
I took the indoor walking option this morning (only 2 gals walked outside), so I guess it is officially 'late fall' here.

Love the pictures!
Got to Tai Chi at lunch which makes 3 this week so far and with tomorrow that will be 4 for the second week in a row. All good there, the crazy number is just 11 days in October, how! June is so much better for me as a teacher, I got to the gym 21 days in June…oh when I am retired! TT

Badger: Good for you for appealing to the manager. You were due something for being misled. A personal trainer sounds like a nice compromise.
Ruth: I missed where you wrote that you were getting a cold. Glad you stayed inside to walk. Always a wonderful picture of the WWW.
TT: 4 days this week is excellent!
Today is my granddaughter's birthday. 1 year old! We are going to her party this Saturday.
It's been raining here so no walking outside for me. Yesterday I had another zoom pilates class with dd's partner. I love it! I also painted a happy All Saints Day pumpkin.
Mr. Milk Bones (who is dressed up like a pirate for Halloween) has befriended my pumpkin.

Went to ds's home to visit with granddaughter for the day after her birthday. Ds's partner's mother, brother, and nephew are visiting from Chicago and Maine. We are going back on Saturday for a big party combined with the yard sale. Glad to get my items I'm contributing out of the house.
While visiting today I had another pilates session. This time it was live at the studio. It's crazy with all the tables and props that are used! I loved it and wish we lived closer so I can go every week.

TT, I retired then got sucked back in as a part-timer at two jobs by two ex-supervisors. We retirees are highly sought after for our work ethic & knowledge. Still working about 30 hours a week. I am looking forward to being done-done in spring.
Walked this morning then had a long work day finishing a project. Was “invited” to 7am group fitness class tomorrow and I’m going. Hope it’s a treat not a trick. Got an orange shirt & black yoga pants so I’ll be festive for Halloween. 🎃

Love Mr Milk Bones and his friend the pumpkin!
I have done full on pilates with a table and all the props…I really do like it, but it is very pricey so stick to the mat pilates that is offered at my gym as a regular course offering (read that as no additional expense other than my membership.
Yes Badger, my school does rehire retirees as well…but we have a rule that you have to be out of service for 6 months before coming back (a bureaucratic rule about benefits/health care)…I hope that once I'm retired for 6 months I will be so happy in that mode that I will resist the call to return. I had originally planned to retire early — the summer I was 59/60 — but will now retire regular, the summer I turn 65. So in many ways I feel like they got an extra 5 years already if that makes any sense. Coupling that with the sad news last night that a dear friend of 30 years died unexpectedly from an aneurysm, we need to live each day to the fullest.
Wow, that was a downer! Now everyone enjoy Halloween…I have my candy corn socks on! TT

TT sorry about your friend. Indeed, live each day to the fullest. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone.
The rule for WI civil service is a 75-day break. It used to be six months but they reduced it cuz there were so many unfilled positions. State service isn’t the draw it once was. The WI retirement system is fully funded and strong. Not many places offer a defined benefit pension plan anymore. Maybe the younger people don’t look that far down the road.
I did go to group fitness class this morning. It was a treat not a trick. The coach invited me in error but oh well. Great workout! Here’s the orange shirt I wore, front & back. I don’t have a pic of me in it. I leave my phone at home since the gym has cubbies instead of lockers & I’m afraid of theft.

So sorry about your friend, TT. Do the things you want to do now!
Sounds like you have a fun weekend ahead, Wonderland.
Love the shirt, Badger.
Last night was our Dance2fit Halloween party. Here I am with my good friend. She's a former kindergarten teacher & I always enjoy dress up!

Mat pilates this morning. Happy Halloween!

Here's my grandpuppies dressed as crayons!

How is it November already? OMG time flies.
Walked this morning then spent the day being domestic. Cleaned house, did laundry, and made pie for family dinner tomorrow. Glad to get an extra hour of sleep tonight.

Went to lunch with friends, did yard work, took a dog walk & am now watching the World Series.

TT and Badger, I keep putting off retiring. This was going to be my last year with youngest getting married and getting her degree in EE. But now, I’m thinking. The end of 2026 calendar year, so first semester of 26-27 school year. I’ll be 70 in May!!! This has been a hard start to the year as I’ve not had a regular assignment but starting this coming week, I’ve been asked to provide extra support at a school 2 days a week. I covered there last year for 5 months and the principal asked for me. The team is happy to have me back. I’m part of the districts central float team of school psychs and social workers. In all the years on the team, this year is the biggest and several of us have not had regular coverage. We’ve been doing legal or other evaluations as well as special assignments. I prefer being with the kiddos. Not sure what my other two days/week will be, but I’m getting slower at doing reports, so it will be nice to have some extra paper work time and I know soon enough we will be swamped with new leaves.
Ruth and Wonder - I had to take my MOB dress to the tailor as the zipper was not working well - plus I’ve put on a few pounds. The tailor is going to take the zipper off and then put it on again with a little more room between zipper and dress. The wedding is just under two months.
Disappointed as we didn’t have any kiddos last night - some neighbors did and others were like us with no one. I miss seeing the littles. The past several years, we’ve only had a dozen or so kids.
Glad to see that everyone is doing well.
Happy November.

Karen, glad you are getting the zipper taken care of. That would be a bad thing to discover at the last minute!
My niece is getting married this spring & I told a friend I was looking for a dress for its 'Garden Party' theme. She said, "What????". She thought I said 'Bargain Party'. 😆😆😆
I'm sure we'll do a dog walk & I'm signed up for yoga this afternoon.

Catching up. Love your Dance to Fit dress up from Halloween Ruth. Your friend is often in the WWW pictures and always has a cheerful smile…I can see her as a kindergarten teacher!
We have been overdosing on baseball this past month, it has been fun, but I'm ready to move on… but what a great season.
Happy you are getting the dress tailored and zipper fixed, Karen. You want No Worries on the day of the big event!
I didn't get to my regular Sunday evening gym class that I love (strength and core) as we had a pot luck at church as a kick-off for the Dining Together program for the year ahead. The food was only so good, but it is always a good time.
Have a good start to the week and new month friends. TT

Just a quick stop. But first, TT I'm so sorry about the unexpected death of your good friend. Yes, live life to your fullest. That is something I need to remember every day.
My granddaughter's 1st birthday party on Saturday was a huge hit. The weather cooperated and we were able to stay outside the entire day. She really likes my dh and has a huge smile for him. She wanted him to hold her hand and walk around. It was precious and I love her so much.

A dog walk & I am going to a 30 minute dance class & HIT tonight.

Wow so many lovely healthy 70-YO’s on this thread! I’ll be there in 4 years.
Ruth, I read about the Teddy Roosevelt presidential library being built in Medora ND. Is that close to you? I’m sure you will visit!
Wonderland, love the grand-daughter stories! I bet she melted everyone’s hearts.
Walked this morning then had a busy day at work. We are down 2 staff so I’m chipping in to help since I’m caught up on my task list and everyone else is drowning.
