We did get a foot of snow. Fall was unusually mild then winter came all at once BAM. Lots of exercise shoveling this weekend!

That's crazy Badger!
Strength and Core last night…with a substitute teacher who was showing off her stuff! After class I whispered to a friend…well we got our exercise tonight! This class is my peak class and it was extra, not sore today, so guess it was extra but okay.
Went to the gym at lunch for a regular class. Cold here but no snow. I go up to NYC on Thursday were the weather/snow may be dicey. TT

We are missing out on this storm. It's too cold to snow. Zumba, HIT, finished putting the decorations up & cleaned the house.

Got to the gym Sun/Mon/Tuesday, but now won't be back until Sun Dec 14th! How is that possible?
I go to NYC tomorrow through Tuesday, so lots of walking there…but very cold temps! I have a Lands End maxi-length down coat that I rarely wear, but I think it is coming out of the closet! TT

I love Lands End coats! I have several for various degrees of cold! Enjoy NYC, TT!
I went to Core & Yoga yesterday. Here's the Wednesday Walking Women checking out the new coffee shop at the local college after our indoor walk this morning.

Was referred here by the mods. Feeling lost since my body is not performing as it once did. Posted about it and then got up and lifted some weights. Not very much. Joints are aching terribly.

Welcome lovesbts7! None of us will judge, just encourage you to do whatever you can. It gets better with time. There were days during active treatment when it was all I could do to walk to the mailbox and back to the couch. I found a yoga for breast cancer survivors class very helpful. Breathe, stretch & relax into your body. Good teachers/ trainers will adapt the workouts for you.
I did nothing Monday after all that shoveling. Hit the gym Tuesday. Should have gone today but it’s SO cold outside and SO cozy inside.

Welcome lovesbts7! We all know how discouraging it is when you finish treatment and realize you have a long way to go to get back to normal. I once read that however long you were in treatment, expect that it will take that long again to back to where you want to be. My experience was that it took twice as long (I had a lumpectomy, chemo, rads & was on AIs for 5 years). My advice is to start where you are, set small, reachable goals & slowly work up from there. Being consistent is the key. It will take longer than you want, but you really can get back to where you want to be.

Gym today. Started on the treadmill to warm up, but stayed on it for 45 mins listening to side A of my Disco Classics mix tape. Walkman Sport still works after all these years. 🎶

Welcome lovesbts7! Please keep coming back. We are here to listen. ❤️
Badger: I can't believe how much snow you had!
TT: Safe travel and time in NYC.
Ruth: Another fabulous picture of the WWW.
I haven't been actively active (if that makes sense lol) other than normal activity. DS is having stress with a part of his life so that makes me have stress. He has gotten answers and is relieved so that means I'm relieved. DD had her appointment with morning and her BP is up. Her due date is January 1. Doctor told her to monitor it 3x/day. Pretty sure it's related to her job but it's still worrisome.
We picked out our Christmas tree today. Of course it's a NC mountain tree. It's supposed to rain/freeze/maybe snow during the night so dh got it in the house to keep it from getting wet. Tomorrow I will decorate the tree. Christmas trees and lights are relaxing and calming to me and I'm ready for it.
I heard "The Little Drummer Boy" on the radio today. I love the song, especially the line "the ox and lamb kept time" - that part is the sweetest. In 2006 I heard the song on my way to meet my oncologist for the first time. I was a nervous ball of nerves driving over for my appointment but once I heard the song, a peace came over me. I knew I would be okay. Whenever I hear it now I stop what I'm doing so I can feel the calm it creates in me.

Wonderland, when kids are stressed (no matter the age of the kid), the momma is equally stressed (if not more!). Glad DS has gotten the answers he needed. Thank goodness we live in an age when pregnancy concerns can be closely monitored! DD is far enough along that the baby should be okay even if it's a little early. My BP went way up at the end of my pregnancy & DS was born 2 weeks early. Since he grew up to be 6'2", it didn't seem to hurt him a bit! I put up my tree already. I love, love, love the lights and happy memories my decorations bring!
I survived my annual physical with no surprises this morning. I did the eye doctor in October & have a dentist appointment next week. After that, I should be good for another 100, 000 miles. 😀
A short dog walk this afternoon. Dance2fit & Yoga tonight.

This is lovely!

Mat pilates & bundled up for a dog walk.

Ruth, that IS a lovely thought! Good for another 100,000 miles LOL.
TT, hope you are having a pleasant stay in NYC.
Wonderland, I heard about potential snow in NC and thought how Christmas-y that would be for you. Of course, everything would come to a halt!
Thinking of you lovesbts7. How are you doing?
Got to the gym yesterday and did 45 mins treadmill listening to Disco Classics side B. I will get back to strength exercises next week.

I went to yoga this morning, out to lunch with friends, to a Christmas Open House, visited my 100 year old friend in the nursing home, and just got done with 30 minutes of weights & 30 of dancing to routines I found on UTube. I also shoveled snow because we got some more last night.

We got more snow, too. Did two 30-minute rounds of shoveling with a coffee/warm-up break in between.

Gym today: treadmill and weights.

Love the saying, Ruth. I would like to add how a Christmas tree is very peaceful for me.
Badger: We didn't get any snow. But just the threat of it causes school closings.
Ds and granddaughter were here this weekend. It was really cold but we were able to go to the playground and take a short stroll. She loves to swing.
Today I ran a bunch of errands. I was true to myself by carrying out my plan to get rid of decorations I have saved throughout the years but don't use or display. Brought the decorations to Goodwill. I had recently cleaned out my little linen closet and brought the towels, sheets, etc. to the animal shelter. DD added her items so it was a nice haul for our animals. I did a little Christmas shopping and ended the day by volunteering at our church's clothing closet. DD and her dh had some winter clothes to donate. I haven't been there since last summer when the roof flooded the rooms and a lot of the clothes were damaged. They got most of the clothes dry cleaned and recently reopened. I was able to get their clothes out on racks plus go through other donated bags to process.

I love all the lights of Christmas. I plug in my tree & turn on my other decorations (thank goodness for battery operated candles) and leave them on until I go to bed at night. So peaceful & cheery.
I shoveled snow & went to the dentist this morning. Walked a dog & had two long phone calls this afternoon (my sister & a good friend who has moved away), HIT tonight.
Karen, if you're reading, I've been thinking about you. I imagine you are now counting the days until the wedding! Hope everything is going as planned!

We woke up to a coating of ice. School was canceled & the fitness center didn't open until noon. So, I had the morning off. It warmed up enough to chip ice off the sidewalks, driveway, steps, deck etc. . Then we took Bruno for a short walk (it's his birthday), & I went to Core and Zumba. More bad weather is apparently coming in tonight, 'tis the season!

Here's a picture of the Christmas Party party of the Wednesday Walking Women's morning. The roads here are glare ice, so I'm staying home the rest of the day!

Happy Birthday (yesterday) Bruno! Yikes about the ice. I've never heard the expression glare ice. Had to look it up. Love your WWW picture and all the ladies in Santa hats.
Yesterday I met a friend to play Maj Jong. Today dh and went for a walk. Nice and cool and luckily no glare ice (my new favorite expression) or any other kind of ice. Tomorrow I start the process of getting a crown. I'm lucky I'm not totally losing the tooth.

Great picture…stay safe with the weather. My exercise has been walking, walking, walking since my last day at the gym a week ago. Don't get back to the gym until Tuesday, yikes!
Our weather here has been weird with school delayed starts or early release due to snow/icy conditions.
So looking forward to our holiday recess❄️

Here's me in cold NYC…note the maxi length down parka, haven't worn that one in years but it was THAT COLD…

Love the pics, TT and Ruth!
Wonderland, I have a couple of crowns on back teeth that were weak due to being more filling than enamel. The process isn’t too bad but it’s not cheap. Worth it to save the tooth.
We had a snow/ice/snow event Tues PM into Weds AM. Schools were canceled Weds. We shoveled the first layer of snow then put down some sidewalk salt. That helped mitigate the layer of ice and second layer of snow. Luckily, it was not too cold or the ice melt would not have worked. Arctic air coming Sat & Sun. Wind chills down to minus 30 ugh.
Got to the gym today. Treadmill & weights. Came home and made soup.

Sounds like the same weather we are having, badger. Except I think the frigid air arrives here tomorrow,
Cute picture, TT. I would like to borrow your coat for the foreseeable future!
My exercise classes are in the Holiday Mode. My HIT class has turned into "Merry Hitmas"….same exercises but to Christmas songs, and my Dance2fit class was all holiday songs too. Fun!

TT: Such an absolutely beautiful picture of you ♥️
Badger: I had an implant and crown last year that was fine for a month but then the post started to move and cause pain. Everything was removed and the ENTIRE process repeated. I was so happy my dentist was able to save my tooth with a crown. Yes, it's expensive but worth it.
Ruth: Cute ideas for exercise classes.
My temporary crown is in and all went well. After my numbing lessened, dh and I walked.
DD called with some news. She has developed prenatal hypertension and has been closely watched by her doctor. As long as her BP stayed below 140/90, he wanted to get her to 37 weeks before following protocol to have her be induced to reduce the chance for preeclampsia. This is week 37 and her admission date is scheduled for next Wednesday unless there is a cancellation or she goes into labor without being induced. So, the wait is on!

A Christmas Baby! That's a pretty good present!!!

Sending warm thoughts your way Ruth and Badger! …and prayers and blessings to you Wonderland on the arrival of your grandbaby, Christmas Baby indeed!

Badger: I can't imagine wind chills at minus 30 degrees. Scary! We will be getting the Arctic air on Monday. It will be freezing but nothing like what you will be experiencing.
Ruth and TT: Yes, a Christmas Baby is the best present!
Went grocery shopping and later walked.
