I think 'Update your records, idiots' would be very appropriate.
I took a long walk this morning & spent several hours reading a book outside this afternoon. We fly back tomorrow into what sounds like messy weather. Yikes!

Badger: "Got no mammies to gram." Priceless!!!
Ruth: Enjoy your last day of being outside without wearing 3 layers of clothes, a hat (toboggan lol) , scarf, gloves and boots.
Well, Wonderland is in a winter wonderland as it's been snowing all day. Beautiful white fluffy snow but too cold and windy to go outside and play around in it. An hour ago I measured the amount in the yard. It was right at a foot of snow and it's still coming down. A true winter wonderland.
No walking in the house today. Instead I've enjoyed looking outside and watching the special about Mel Brooks.

My N.C. sister sent me some videos of your snow, Wonderland. Wow! It looks more like Colorado! Stay safely indoors. I'm pretty sure nobody out there knows how to drive in that much snow!
We are home from our delightful vacation. All of N.D. is in Winter Weather Advisory, so it wasn't the most enjoyable ride home (100 miles from the airport to our house). Luckily it was in the middle of the day. I'm at 7,000 steps so might march around the house for awhile to get up to 10,000.

Well, I didn't get my last 3000 steps yesterday & was lazy all day today too. Back in the saddle tomorrow.

Ruth: You needed a rest from all you fun in the sun.
We ended up getting 12 inches of snow. The town 20 minutes away got 16 inches. Walked in the house and then shoveled the sidewalk and part of the driveway. It's been many many years since I shoveled 12 inches of snow! Dh also helped shovel the driveway. It still has ice on it from last weekend. It's been so cold all week and nothing is melting.
My kitty and I are keeping each other warm.

The powdery snow melted enough to make snowballs and snowmen. I made a Snölykta, a Swedish snow light using a solar powered string light. It's hard to take a picture bc I have the lights set on a flashing pattern. Imagine what it looks like if this were a video.
I also made a small snowman. I think he looks like Angus Young of AC/DC when he wears a school uniform while performing lol.
I miss hearing from several of you. Hope everyone is safe and warm.

The lights are very mysterious looking.
This morning, we took a cold dog walk…..it was much more fun walking in Arizona! Dance2fit & HIT tonight.

I went to LIFT this morning. Both of the classes I could have gone to tonight were canceled (teachers sick? have sick kids? on vacation?). I did a 30 minute dance video on utube instead.

Wow, love the lights and now I have a new word as well,
Snölykta
love it!
The weather has continued to be horrible in SE Virginia, but we didn't get the foot that NC got. All this cold is reminding me how much I hate the cold and making me question our trip to Alaska in May/June — not the trip as a whole as it will be fairly temperate, but the glacier hike stuff. Seems much less exciting after what feels like two weeks of trying not to fall on the sheer ice…and what is a glacier except sheer ice!
Got to the gym on Monday, but it has been a lot not hit or miss, but simply miss…as in missing going or the gym is closed. We have so little back up plans for bad weather, that things just close. But when we reopen we still need to get all the work done, so then we jam three weeks of work into two and that just fills the day, ugh!
Glad you are home safe, but so glad you got to go on your trip! TT

Here's the one creature in the Carolinas that loves the weather you're having. My sister's Husky!
This is one happy dog!

Great pics everyone!
My gym has an app with workouts so, now that I have a smart phone, I gave it a try this week. Monday was "lower body" (lunges, squats & use of resistance band) and Weds was "upper body" (dumbbell rows & curls, pushups & pullups on the TRX). Tomorrow, I'll see what the "core" workout is. I hope I can hold a plank for at least a minute! Tues & Thurs = treadmill for cardio. I would like to lose 20 pounds by Spring but also gain muscle.
Here's a 1970's-inspired meme for everyone in the ice & snow:

The toning you are doing, badger, will give you the muscles you want. And remember, muscle weighs more than fat, so you can look better and be able to weigh smaller sizes, even if the scale doesn't go down that much.
Yesterday, I went to HIT in the morning, Dance2fit & Yoga in the evening. My class today is canceled, so I will have to do something on my own.

Dog walked yesterday & today, and did some toning from some utube videos.

Dog walked & went to Yoga. Now I'm watching the Super Bowl. If you see a Budweiser commercial about a baby Eagle who grows up with a baby Clydesdale; the farmer is from North Dakota. He's a real farmer whose family grows hops for their beer!

Hi Everyone!
Ruth: I LOVE that ad! So cool that the farmer is from ND.
It's been so cold here that I mainly have been staying home with an occasional outing. I've been doing some house walking but really miss walking outside. DD and grandson came over for several hours on Friday. First time he has come to the house and I loved every minute of it.
I felt inspired to paint so I painted a few things while watching the Olympics and Superbowl. This is a rock that I've had. To me, it's naturally shaped like an owl so I painted it for my friend who is owl crazy.

Cute. I've been watching our Mixed Doubles Curling team as much as possible. They are from Duluth, MN. The local news here had been all abuzz over their Olympic journey!

Cute owl, Wonderland!
Even the sports I don't usually watch are interesting at the Olympics because the commentators do such a nice job explaining them & giving the back story of the contestants!
I'm off to Zumba in a few minutes & HIT tonight. We are having a week of mild weather, so are very much enjoying that!!

M0mmy: I will have to watch curling to see if the Mixed Doubles Curling team wins.
Ruth: Tomorrow our temperature will be in the 60s. Looking forward to it.
I decided to repaint this winter snow globe I painted 5 years ago. There is so much about it that I don't like. The snowman and blood moon are okay but that's about it. I decided to invert the jar and paint it as a lightening bug lantern. Now I'm looking forward to summer.

Love the arts and crafts Wonderland, you are so talented!
Got to the gym yesterday, Monday, first time since last Monday…pathetic.
This weeks looks better as I am on track to get to the gym Wed - Fri…in part aided by the fact that our high will hit 50 today, woo hoo…we have been dripping faucets for two weeks, my water bill will be sky high, plus I feel bad for the waste…TT

I love your lantern, Wonderland!
I just had a plumber at my house too, TT…..for TWO sinks. I am afraid to get the bill!
Mommy, I watched the Curling finals in your honor. Pretty cool to have medalists from the state right next door! The other thing I've been watching a lot is the ice dancing & figure skating. Athleticism plus Art equals amazing!
I had a hair appointment this morning & my Book Club meets tonight; so I did a long dog walk & 15 very boring minutes of core work on my own.

Thanks ya'll. Arts and crafts keep my mind engaged and it's fun to just sit down and see what the results will be.
Sorry about the plumbing problems! We've had our share but currently things are not leaking, etc.
Beautiful day. High was almost 70 degrees. I met my friend to play Mahjong. Afterwards dh and I met DD and grandson to walk. First time he was in his stroller and he slept through most of it. A deer came out of no where and ran past us a few feet from dh. Thought the deer was going to run into him!

Hi everyone
Wonderland, thanks for the digital photo tips. I was thinking of making one for DH for his 70th but it got too overwhelming.
Ruth, cruise weather, sea and sun will do wonders for your neck, at least I hope it does.
Dog walked, zumba danced and stretched yesterday, which might have been my 18th anniversary of finding out I was NED.

Tai Chi at lunch today. Another day in the 50's but we are still holding on to a lot of dirty ice in the corners of parking lots and on sidewalks…but hopefully we have turned to corner on the extreme cold. TT

Hi heidihill!! Great to hear from you! Congratulations on your last 18 years!! Definitely a cause for celebration!
My cruise was lovely & my neck is fine! Here's a Wednesday Women's Valentines Week Walk picture.

I've been watching a lot of the Olympics. Was disappointed that we didn't take gold in yesterday's match but now I have the team curling to look forward to. Been watching the women's hockey and other events.

Heidihill: So good to hear from you. A photo book can be a challenge but I watched tutorials that made it all make sense.
TT: We were at 65 degrees today but it became breezy in the afternoon which made it feel cooler.
Ruth: Love the WWW picture. Cute sweater!
M0mmy: I now understand curling!
Went over to DD house to stay with my grandson while she got some work for her job done on her computer. Dh and I will be taking care of him when she returns to work next month so I need to learn his routine. This will be a big change for both of us but I'm happy to get the chance to do it.
Walked this afternoon.

we hit 61 degrees today…woohoo
I finally was able to drive our 2001 F150. It is not four wheel drive…just a basic truck with an 8’ bed…our boat/beach vehicle. Bought new with 25 years and less than 65,000 miles. I usually drive it once a week to keep the battery charged but this weather has made it be two plus weeks. So grateful it started.
Loving all the Olympics especially the skating

TT: You certainly don't hear of trucks that are 25 years old with less than 65,000 miles. That's impressive!
Ruth: Unbelievable
It's been a busy day and originally I planned to walk outside. Then evening arrived so I walked in the house. I'll also be watching the Olympics until I go to bed.
