Shoveled snow Friday. We didn’t get a lot but still needed to clear the sidewalk.

Sat was errand day. Went to the gym then shopped and cooked. Made meatballs and pulled pork for the freezer, and chicken salad to take to MIL’s. (So easy: 2c rotisserie chicken cut into 1” pieces, 1/2 c each halved grapes, dried cranberries & minced celery. Dressing is two parts mayo to one part sour cream, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, and S&P to taste.) It’s one of her favorites. DH not feeling well so I went to Sun Prairie myself on Sunday. Brought some of the frozen foods plus boxes of GS cookies. Cooked chicken dinner for the fam and got to meet my great-nephew who just turned one. What a cutie! 🥰

TT, here's a funny story; when it started being a 'thing' to get 10,000 steps a day, our middle school did a fitness challenge. We all got these counters & each House vied against each other to get the most points. A group of teachers were eating lunch together & talking about their progress when the plump little choir director (who did not work out at all), said that she didn't understand the fuss, she ALWAYS got more than 10,000 steps; in fact she had more than 10,000 steps & it was noon. On future review, it was all the waving her arms around when she was directing her choirs! 😄

I did not exercise yesterday (or direct any choirs either). Today will be Zumba & HIT.

Worked, got a haircut, then hit the gym. Pulled some homemade chicken soup out of the freezer for supper. DH ate two bowls after barely eating for the past couple days. Signed up for a St. Paddy’s Day 5K fun run/walk. ☘️

    Hi everyone,

I can’t believe my last post here was in 2023! I spent some time reading and catching up and it felt like reconnecting with old friends.

So good to see those who consistently kept the thread going and those who have checked in to update here and there.

Congratulations on new grandchildren and to those persevering through injuries and illness,

Sending peace to those who experienced a loss of loved ones.

Any news on Karen and how the wedding went?

    How about Natsfan?

Great to hear from you, Ginger!

Karen hasn't checked in since the wedding, but I hope she will. I would love to get an update!

I keep in touch with Natsfan. She & her DH are presently on a Mediterranean Cruise!

I went to LIFT this morning & will go back to CORE. Bruno got his nails trimmed & we went on a little walk after that; which was not fun because it's so icy!

HI Ginger, great to see you checking in.

I got to the gym Sun/Mon/Tuesday…woohoo.

I had forgotten about Karen's wedding, her dress was great, hope we get an update.

While I usually watch the SOTU, the forecasted 2hr speech is too much for me with the early start of school tomorrow morning…I'll get the cliff notes tomorrow.😀

Hi Ginger!! Good to hear from you!

I watched our Governor give the state of the state address so guess I will watch the Prez give the state of the union address.

Got to the gym this afternoon and got home before the sleet started. Ugh. Come on Spring!

I skipped the SOTU, did the dishes, cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed and folded laundry.

Here's the WWW picture. One of our founding members, a lovely lady, died at Christmas. One of her talents was to repurpose wool sweaters into unique mittens & gift them to friends. Her birthday was yesterday, so we wore her mittens in commemoration.

What a nice way to recycle sweaters…and for the group to remember her by.

I'll get to the gym after school which makes 4 times this week…but only 11 times for the month, ugh.

February is the cruelest month 😉

It's a beautiful day here! I went to HIT, did a bunch of errands, had lunch with a friend, found a baby gift for my niece (who is due any day), &:took a walk with Bruno & DH. I will go to Dance2fit tonight.

Helped my hubby try and get through the iced up mess the last couple of storms have left. Kind of helped that it got into the 40s here yesterday.

Love the mitten pic & story, Ruth!

I got the crud DH had last week so have stayed out of the gym. Don’t want to get others sick plus I’m all stuffed up. Did walk outside Friday as it was nearly 60 & too nice to stay inside. Today was stay warm and sleep a lot. Skipping MIL’s tomorrow.

Nice to see everyone! A Mediterranean cruise sounds lovely!
Ruth, I love the WW pic; such a nice tribute to your friend.

Aqua Fitness and swimming 5 days this past week and 2 outdoor walks as we got some warmer weather this weekend.

Yesterday was busy with fun activities. We went to a gluten free expo at a convention center (yummy samples and items for purchase) and after that we went to a Fire and Ice festival 5 minutes from our house. It was packed!

Last night we went to a yacht rock concert. All music from the 70’s and 80’s. It’s amazing how all the lyrics come right back to you.

Hope you are feeling better, badger!

You had a fun day yesterday, Ginger. I had fun yesterday too. I went to a very good historical presentation at a museum during the day. DS, DIL, and the grandpuppies came over for dinner & a visit.….which is always a fun, busy time!

Yoga & some utube dancing today.

Hi Ginger! So good to see you again!

Just a quick stop by. No formal exercise last week except for normal walking. We had a couple of cold rainy days and I've been catching up with things around the house. I did meet a friend earlier in the week to play Mah Jong. Yesterday the same friend I went to see Alicia Keys "Hell's Kitchen." It was amazing.

I plan to be better about exercise this week.

I went to LIFT this morning & took a dog walk. My niece had a baby boy yesterday. The poor little guy has some breathing problems and is spending some time in the NIC (hopefully home on Friday). They live in North Carolina so there is nothing I can do, but I still feel guilty about going on my vacation tomorrow.

TT: I'm sure you're looking forward to next week.

Ruth: Congratulations Auntie! But oh my, I hope little baby gets his breathing under control and he can go home. I'm so sorry he is having problems and pray for healing for the baby and comfort for his parents as I'm sure they are very stressed and worried.

    And…………Happy Birthday Ruth!!!

Today is also dd's birthday. She picked dh and me up for a coffee date with our grandson. We sat in the car (too many people in the coffee shop), drank coffee, and Face Timed with ds and our granddaughter. So we were all together without being physically together. DD drove us to our voting station so we could vote then on to her voting station so she could vote. We stayed in the car with gs who slept through most of it.

Walked this afternoon at the park.

Got to they gym today and got my steps! woohoo

    Happy Birthday Ruth!

Glad you got out to vote…in VA we have a special election in April…we always vote, and I get my mom to vote as well. Coming out of COVID they allowed you to be permanently on mail in ballots if you wanted and I put mom on that schedule. DH and I go to the polls, for us it is very social as we know so many poll workers.

I give exams on Thursday…countdown to spring break! TT

I'm in Atlanta on my way to West Palm Beach. Lots of beach walking in my near future!

The new baby is still in the NICU. If all goes well, they hope that he can come home Saturday. Scary time!

The baby comes home from the hospital today!

Now I can enjoy my beach vacation! I walked the beach several times yesterday & did a sunrise walk this morning. We are going to explore a couple museums later today.

I posted last night but I must not have clicked Post Comment. Ugh.

TT: Hope you're having a fun Spring Break.

Ruth: Beautiful pictures. So happy for you to be with your friends. And especially glad to hear that little baby has been able to go home!

Ds and granddaughter visited this weekend. Dd and family came over so the cousins got to meet each other. Grandson is only 3 months old but gd who is 16 months held his hand (unprompted by one of us) and my heart melted. So sweet!

We have had several days of mid 80 degrees weather and nights have been hot. Back to cooler weather this weekend and especially at the beginning of next week.

I've been walking but definitely could do better.
