GOOD NEWS FOR ME!!! I was caught in a traffic jam on the Paratransit and turns out I do not need to even go tocourt. The officer called me on the way home, makes me happy. Called SIL and let her know as well.

Hi folks. I hope this evening finds better news and scans! @micmel I am so sorry for your loss. So very young, indeed. I hope his memory is a blessing for all that knew him. So good to hear Gabby is doing well.
@shanagirl You are on my mind so much today. Praying for a new treatment plan that works well. Much love to you sweetheart.
@mara51506 Oh good news on the NO COURT situation. Wish they could have put your mind at ease earlier. Hope the crispy lentils turned out good. I promise I'm going to try lentils one of these days.
@intolight You are on my mind and in my thoughts and prayers, too. Hope you really enjoy your family's visit.
Tomorrow pet scan day for me. My gosh I'm struggling with stress. So much pain that I'm hard pressed to believe it's not cancer related. But if by chance I am still in NEAD territory, I am absolutely asking for a treatment break. We have our 47th anniversary on 4th of July and DH's birthday Sept. 01. I'd like to take the time to go visit our DGD, who is in Charlotte for the summer. Miss her so much.
In your pockets for scans and life in general.

@mara51506 Great news! Now you can put that behind you and relax for the summer.
@irishlove Sorry you are in so much pain and stress. I'm praying your scan tomorrow shows no progression and that you are still NEAD.
I haven't been feeling well lately—very sluggish with stomach issues. I keep hoping to wake to a good morning so I can get some things done before my DS gets here on Friday. I can do little things, but I am thankful I know they will understand. I got my laundry done and did get my oven cleaned today thanks to self-cleaning ovens, so there's that. I am ordering groceries to be delivered tomorrow and I need to make one more bed. Apparently my DGS does not want to sleep in the same bed as his brother so we brought out the good air mattress. Now I just need to get out the extra sheets and blankets. I do love having a house that's big enough they can all stay here instead of staying in an Air BNB although you would think three extra bedrooms would be enough!. Makes it worth it though.
Irish, I thought about taking a break but decided I could be okay because I usually feel pretty good during my off week. I hope I still can. I am seriously thinking about stopping it all if I can't feel any better than this.

thinking of everyone tonight scanning , waiting on results. Not feeling good. Side effects getting on your nerves. Just here to say I care very much for everyone and think of you all often. Hugs to all of you. Candy. 🍬 shout out to you!

Mel- Thanks for the shout out. I read on here every day. I am on the upswing now - next treatment next week so that is how it goes. I am taking advantage of feeling better and going out to lunch with a friend today. Our church has Homecoming Services this Sunday, so I am planning on going to that. I dread getting the next treatment and being down for a couple of weeks again. I don't know if I can do this long term. My next PET scan is June 24th so we will see what that shows. Saying HI to all.

@candy-678 Glad you have a couple of fun things to enjoy this week. Enhertu does sound like a really tough treatment. Regardless of what the PET scan shows, could you talk to your oncologist about finding another treatment that might be more tolerable for you? It seems like you still have a lot of options. Or maybe Enhertu will get easier as your body adjusts. The first 3 months of a treatment are hardest for me. Wishing you well.

@mara51506 yipee… so happy and relieved for you!
@intolight Sending strength your way.
@irishlove In your pocket for pain relief and a good PET scan🤞🏻
@candy-678 Glad you feel well enough to get out of the house and socialize a bit, enjoy!
Monthly MO visit and labs today, typically uneventful. Maybe an errand or two on the way home. Wishing all a peaceful day💕💐

Good early morning everyone. It's a perfect night here. The skies were stunningly beautiful. The temperature is perfect. I hope to feel well enough tomorrow to finish planting and mulching the front gardens. Not much happens in the back as two dogs that I live with (lol) shred the lawn.
Everyday, or so it seems, we keep receiving promo mail for cremations. Some even offer free meals at Carabas. I was about 15 minutes from entering the petscan machine when my phone rang. In a very gentle tone, a gentleman said he was from Gospel Gardens. I'm wondering if this a sign?? I had to inquire twice what the call was for, his answer was he received the Passion Flower vine that had been backordered. I think I laughed a little too loudly. Picked my prize up today and can't wait to see her bloom. Much better then a cremation promotion. LOL
In pockets for all good news on scans and life, in general.

Chicagoan- I had talked to my MO about the PATINA trial… using Verzenio with Elecestrant with Herceptin (I am triple positive). So I think he would consider that, depending on the next PET results. And I asked if we moved from Enhertu not due to progression could we go back to it and he said yes. I want to give Enhertu a chance, but it is a hard treatment. And I don't want to feel like this month after month.

@irishlove Hoping for continued NEAD for you and less pain. I hope it is still NEAD and you get your treatment holiday for sure.
@candy-678 Enjoy your lunch with friends for sure.
@intolight I am sorry stomach issues have knocked you back in your energy, in your pocket as you ponder stopping treatment, either for a while or whatever you decide.
Had the Herceptin, cut close on the pickup time at the hospital, was unhooked by 5 to 4pm and just made it for my ride. I had an almost 2 hour wait for the Herceptin. That was fine, a few people asked me where different places in the cancer clinic were, not sure how they decided I could help but was glad to.
Not sure what I want to have today. Had Mcdonalds after Herceptin which I always feel hungry after even eating the cheese and digestive cookies given to me. Just a mcdouble meal dressed up in big mac sauce.
Today am thinking of microwaving eggs with ham, lentils as well for maybe 4 mins. Once cooled, gets put through the chopper with shredded cheese and dumped into the air fryer, pre heated and only 2 mins or so, enough to melt the cheese. Later have meat pie with rice and dried lentils on the side. 3rd option just a regular english muffin buttered and little garlic and cheese and put an egg with it. In that case when not chopping up a cooked egg, like them in the mini griddle. I will decide later what I want to have.

We are on today, last post was the 4th and forgot to hit post comment.
Slept pretty good, weird dreams but I resolved them in my sleep. Getting some peanut butter from Amazon, no delivery fees, same price as Walmart. Woke up to extra funds in bank, a top up from the government which is good, got another benefit coming as well. That will help quite a bit with future bills. That is for sure. I am better at staying off Amazon except for needs, not wants. Cat food, litter, my digestive enzymes and immodium are about it. Save money from games if want to buy snacks I think. I will see. I debating a trip to another grocery store in which I have a store credit from paying bills of `13.00 and almost another 15.00 coming soon, looking forward to it as I can get a few things extra, I will see.
Other than that, started laundry this morning, I still love to do it. Washing clothes in cold water as well so when I hang up on the hanger dryer and use the regular for the cloths and towels and blankets. If need to use both at once, will get extension cords and plug the hanging dryer to the kitchen power. I will see.
Going through my canned lentils super fast so will get some soon but debating sticking with the dry lentils and perhaps some dried yellow split peas. I still have some red dried lentils but do not see why I could not put lentils, rice and whatever seasoning I want to use, would be healthy. protein as well. Cheaper than even the canned as well. I am thinking of making up dry lentils, rice, bit of quinoa and chia seeds. If I do that, probably adding some Kraft dinner cheese, taco seasoning, mild and cheesy flavour and cook it down, stir constantly for fear of burning.
I did wind up taking 1/4 value of each except the chia seeds but red lentils, rice and quinoa. About a teaspoon of the chia seeds as well. Tore up a piece of ham, added a bunch of chopped garlic, then garlic seasoning as well as the taco. Added twice the amount of water than each ingredient. Heated up on burner and at first it was spitting hot water on me then turned heat down, continually stirred to avoid stuff sticking. Once it was almost done, put some shredded cheese and turned heat up once more to melt the cheese and dumped into bowl. Added some chipotle and cheddar veggie crisps, just crumbled them down, add sour cream and aueso, not huge amounts though. All in all it was very good. Not too much work but even with the small amounts there was enjoyable amount of different flavours.
Hope people are having a good day and in pockets for everyone.

remission doesn’t mean anything other than stable. I’ve been waiting for this wonderful grand transformation to occur and it just isn’t. No difference at all. Just holding the course. I had a violent stomach bug. Hit me hard. Could not keep anything down for five days. It was nasty . 🤮 I hated stomach bugs. This one wa a doosey. Wash your hands people. There are some bugs 🐛 out there waiting for us to catch. Ugh! I’ve lost 30 lbs over the course of a few months. I don’t know if that’s good or bad. My love to all. I know chemo sucks. I remember, I’m sending my strength in your pockets.
7 -
@micmel I am so sorry you were so ill. In your pocket you are feeling better now.
5 -
@micmel - Oh Mel, you just can't get a break. My sympathies re your stomach bug.
I understand what you mean about "remission" just being stable. I started Xeloda in January and my bone mets are "healed" and they can no longer see the 10 lesions that were on my liver, but I remain fairly miserable. I still have to take this drug that makes me totally wiped out with side effects, I had a month of not being well at all due to RSV, and I still have to go to all the appointments and be monitored, etc. The reality is that there is just no cure, and all we can hope to get is a longer break from time to time. Don't get me wrong, I'll take this over progression any day, but to think that it's some big beautiful thing is not realistic. Again, I'll take it for sure, and I am really happy to have this situation over what could be, but it is just more "stable" until who knows when.
That's sounds like a real nasty bug that you had. I read that something is going around, particularly on the east coast. Maybe that's what you had? Just so very glad that you are over it now. Wishing you continued improved health!

Slept alright last night, window AC keeps it cool in the apartment but do have living room window open as it helps keep the living room fresh smelling. Ordered more canned lentils, 4 cans since they go with everything. I still like the dry ones but the canned variety are easy to use with everything. Got a box of old el paso mexican rice, more canned lentils as mentioned, chicken dogs, sour cream and the sour cream and lime crema, beef mini pot pies. Was going to go below the 35 but thought that was stupid so deleted and spent the 35 minimum. Got chips as well as even if I do not eat from the bag, they make a good chopping ingredient besides the cheese. I can just get delivery less frequently, got lots of food
I got the express delivery, apparently 47 to 97 mins, that is fine by me. It did arrive shortly after ordering. Figure chicken dogs can be the major protein beyond lentils or beans. I did skip the dried lentils, cans cheap enough and really unnecessary to cook them up when open a can, rinse and use as needed. Before the groceries, just heated up one of many bean and beef burritos.
Got laundry on the go, need to clear out sink between chores and want to budget boost as well. Still have ads playing while I watch TV, there are a few games to play as well. Paypal has a 15 dollar minimum for me to cash out, I have 10.00 thus far which is not bad. You would never get rich playing games or watching ads but better than a kick in the butt.
Hope all are having a good day or at least the best possible day and in pockets for everyone.

happy Saturday everyone. Just was quickly reading along . I never made it to my appointments last week. I got sooo sick & weak again and slept like I was unconscieous al da & night. My DH & DS were discussing if hey should get me back to the hospital, thinking I was relapsing, but Just before I fell asleep night, I told him I felt like I had come down with that 24-48 hr virus. And sue enough the next morning I awoke feeling stronger. So my appointments are moved to this coming Monday with bothe my Oncologist , & pulmonologist. I was kind of down all this week thinkinking the worst, that my Mets is progressing from being off the chemo too long, and feeling so sick and weak. My only symptoms were extreme weakness and unable to move my legs and arms, nausea and not wanting to eat and severe intestinal pain & cramping,. And a kind of spacey feeling with cough coming back. Therapist still came twice a week or breathing treatments and strength exercises but the whole week was not good. My oxygen was perfect 98 + with that finger thingy But now that this week has past and I;m stronger I just wan to geet up to Hackensack John Theurer Cancer Center to get my labs and the “level 1 transitional Evaluation” to find out what he will decide about my current treatment. I learned int the hospitalization last week that I am extremely anemic, so that explains the exhaustian constantly. They wanted me to take ion and B12 so will discuss that with him. No wonder I’ve been craving steak and rib eye so much the last2 months 😉🥩Saying hi o you all even though I haven’t posted your names. Thank you for your thoughts and pockets and well wishes. have a good weekend.🩵🌷

@shanagirl -Oh Shana, this is just not fair! Way too much for one person to have to bear. You continue to be in my thoughts and I continue to send nothing but good wishes for a speedier recovery, and good news when you finally do get to your appointments. In your pocket for sure.

Good evening everyone. I know a number of you are in the storms path. Please be safe and make sure to have weather alerts on your phones. We have an interior closet that is set up for the dogs, so now to make room for the humans, lol. We do have a large supply of water ready to go. Haven't updated the house furnishings VIDEO or the exterior either. The local experts say it's important to prove everything to the insurance company if damage occurs.
I have an awful toothache in the molar that the dentist did a root canal on two years ago. It's shooting up my jaw, ear and into my temple. Gee after insurance it still cost me close to $2000! Don't you think dental prices are crazy? Insurance is a joke. Hope to get in Monday to see them. Doubtful they can do much.
Our sweet Pigeon is ill. No improvement all day but at least she did go outside tonight to potty. She is lethargic, not eating and not beating that beanpole of a tail she has. I applied cold water to her body as I'm thinking she has a fever. I can't put my finger on anything in particular that is ailing her and it's only been today. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Praying to St. Francis tonight.
Mel, I understand what you are saying about remission and NED. No improvement in how we feel from side effects is so disappointing but….. When I had my last visit with MO I specifically asked him where my cancer was, based on an image. He said I was NED or NEAD for awhile. I have to admit my first reaction was anger. No one had told me. Every ache and pain (or problem I thought was cancer related) was possibly MS related or side effects from treatment. Not to mention my mental health kept taking a hit with each disappointing scan. My scan results from Thursday came in already. Back to NED. Happy to say I hope this allows me more time with my granddaughter and DH and of course the rest of my wonderful family.

@irishlove - Stay safe - can't believe all the preparations you've had to make! I've never lived where those kinds of storms happen, and I'm amazed at what people in those zones go through. And dear Pigeon; sending all the best and hopes that this is just a "one off" and all will be good soon.
Very glad for your NED status - hope you get a real long run with it.

Well, I slept well last night. Found a mess left by cat, cleared it up, discovered the wetjet bottle in new one would not allow removal of lid despite heat which was supposed to work. Got couple more tall bottles, they are coming later today. The one that will not come off when heated is a smaller bottle. Bought couple of the taller bottles of the wetjet solution. Had some budget boosting stuff from gaming so not such a big investment.
Other than laundering dirty cloths, I am planning to have eggs and hashbrowns. Unsure if using breville oven to heat up hashbrowns or use the mini griddle to heat it up, I will see. I do have two of the mini griddles, don't ask why, I cannot really give a reason but there it is. I still enjoy the fact that two things can be made at once without setting off circuit breaker since both griddles only use up to 600 to 650 watts, more than enough power. I will also make up a butter english muffin, boring but good. Lentils come later I think.
I do hope all have a good rest of weekend, in pockets for all. If meals are remarkable, will post about them later.

I slept OK last night, just woke up now, started some laundry. Cloths and a scrub brush to clean it up and a metal drain to remove the lint out of there. Later, may do a blanket. We are in for a humid week which is not unusual but does not matter for me. Floors can be done throughout the day, no need to run both electric dryers but nice to be able to plug the dryer in from the bedroom, it is good for clothes.
Planning to open some canned lentils. Converted back to those as they are nutritious and easy to add to multiple meals. I am starting with rice I think. Not sure if mexican rice or just put in some seasoning in the rice and dump canned lentils in the mix. Need to eat better nutrition. Can take 1/4 cup of legumes with meals, honestly tired of beans right now but lentils in a can are ready to go and take on whatever flavour I give them. Got chicken dogs in coldest part of fridge too, add some extra protein to meals as well, quite an in expensive protein.
MEAL 1 Going to prepare some white rice, make an egg in the mini griddle, get a hot dog and possibly some ham to chop in the egg with cheese, no need to chop with the lentils, let the air fryer heat everything up together with some queso and taco seasoning. It was really good, added some veggie crisps that were crunched up. I wound up skipping the eggs but did use the 1/4 cup white rice, 1/4 cup canned lentils and the teaspoon size chia seeds, heated up in water on stove, added taco cheesy and mild taco seasoning. Once all done, put the contents in a bowl, added the shredded cheese, brought out to the microwave to heat for two minutes to melt cheese, broke up the veggie crisps. Added french onion and sour cream and onion seasoning. It was really good.
MEAL 2 was harder for me to decide what to have so so instead, ate a few spoonfuls of peanut butter. That was nice.
I do hope all had a good day, always in everyone's pockets.

Got results for labs yesterday. All is still stable, and tumor markers remain now, back in the normal range. Follow-up with oncologist tomorrow. Next scans in mid July. I'm still chugging along with this Xeloda for now.
7 -
@threetree Good news! Here's hoping Xeloda treats you well for a long time.
2 -
@threetree Glad to hear your good news!
2 -
@threetree I am really glad your meds are working for you, may you stay on same treatment a very long while.
Nothing new for me at this end, slept OK once went to bed, washing up a blanket that needed a wash, I enjoy going one at a time. Keep on top of container holding blankets as well. I do need to rinse out AC filter, dry it and hang in the dryer on my closet, only take 10 mins to dry which is good. Have to struggle to get in all the way, my instinct is to want to go fast but not wanting to bend the filter. Will also use my small blower on the unit itself, make sure nothing building up in there. It works super well. Use a fan to blow air from bedroom to living room.
I am thinking of food, need to use up eggs so debating two eggs in a large sprayed bowl, put butter, garlic spread and some french onion dip, put whisked eggs on top, add a mini pot pie, 1/4 cup canned lentils and one cutup hotdog, throw some shredded cheese in as well. May need to book a trip to a grocery store later if run out of items, I will see. Nothing running low at this point. Later, may make up an egg mcmuffin riff. Will post if meals are good.
EDIT1 Wish me luck, need to bring down a large pan from top of cabinets meaning going up my step ladder. I should be alright as I can hang onto a handle. The regular pan had a finish but it is wearing off, no need to possibly eat finish that is coming off. Other pan I already have should be fine to use, no finish to wear out, large pan.
EDIT2 Got up on the step ladder to grab the large pan, will throw away damaged pan next garbage cycle, need to clear larger burners to be able to use the larger pan. It is a copper pan. Oh well. I am leaning toward a more simple meal, two eggs, whisk up in a sprayed bowl, add some lentils, chicken dog, possible ham and some shred cheese. Heat in microwave for 5 mins, take out and decide on binders. Only 1/4 cup of lentils as well. Might consider a mini pot pie as well. Sounds like a lot of food BUT can always use for two meals, leaning toward that I think.
EDIT on the first meal, I did put garlic spread and little butter at bottom of sprayed bowl, cracked in two eggs, whisked up a bit, added 1/4 cup lentils, one chicken dog, torn up and a slice of ham. Put cheese on top of all the other stuff, put in microwave on HIGH for 5 min and 30 seconds. Brought it out, binders included a spoonful of plain yogurt and tostitos queso, put extra sour cream and onion dry seasoning and bit of salt. Mixed all together and surprisingly was able to eat it all. Skipped the pot pie since it was a large meal but definitely enjoyable.
I hope everyone has a good day and in pockets for everyone.

@intolight - Thanks very much for the good wishes. Is Taxol the chemo you are on, or is it another one? I'm sorry, but I can't remember.
@chicagoan - I appreciate your uplifting comment - thanks. How is your hip doing? It's been awhile.
@mara51506 - Your wish for me to keep going on this treatment for a long time is a very welcome one. I also hope that you have a real good day, and I am always in your pocket too!
2 -
@threetree-My hip is doing very well. So grateful that I was able to get a replacement. Last summer was so miserable with all the pain I had walking. This year is so much better. Thanks for asking!
3 -
@threetree I'm on Taxol. Actually I'm at the hospital getting the chemo as I write this. Not the way I want to spend my 54th anniversary, but it is what it is.
4 -
@intolight Happy Anniversary! Hope that you and your husband can celebrate in a better way in a few days.
4 -
@intolight - A Happy Anniversary from me too. I know what you mean about it is what it is, but you can always make up for it another time.
I was curious about what chemo you were on, because you'd said it wasn't going super well. I remember Taxol (pacletaxol) back when I was originally diagnosed and I can remember it not being great, but being a lot better than the Doxorubicin had been. I thought you might be doing Enhertu and I recently read some on here saying that that one gets better with time, and so if you were having initial problems, to hold on, because it does improve. Those people were saying it was about a year for them now, and that was encouraging.
I hope the Taxol gets easier and gives you a much better run. Sending a hug too!
