Last night was linguine with Raos and bulk Italian sausage. Reliable and enjoyable. Also, a good salad with well-washed lettuce and additions. Tonight's dinner will probably be leftovers.
I'll have to look up beef lo mein.

Nance, I haven’t made lo mein in ages. I’ll have to add to my already large pasta/noodle collection.
Carole, Rao’s is always good. I splurged on their margherita pizza sauce which is a bit different from their spaghetti sauces.
Dinner tonight was pizza made from a bakery frozen Neapolitan crust and toppings (including the Rao’s sauce.)

Minus no it’s called Stir Fry Vegetable Blend. I really like it because it has about ten different veggies in it including yellow squash and water chestnuts.

It has been raining here since noon. Hopefully that will clear out the smoke.
Dinner tonight was meatballs in Rao’s on spaghetti. I couldn’t be left out of this week’s spaghetti crew, lol.

2 hard cooked eggs, cooked beans, ice cream and lots of wine.

Hamburger tonight. It's good that the propane range is in place. The electricity failed around 4:45pm, most likely due to storm damage from the severe thunderstorm that "roared" through here.
Somehow, despite no personnel having been dispatched to check things out, the electric company knows that the power will be restored at
5:45pm,7:45pm,9;45pm,10:45pm, 11:45pm.2 -
The electric company is now estimating 12:30am for a restoration time. According to the company "A crew is being dispatched". To me that sounds like, "We still haven't dispatched a crew". :-)

Around 11pm we shut down the generator and went to bed. We left things set up so a hallway light would come on when the power was restored. Power was restored at around 12:40am.

Eric, It’s good you have the propane range and generator . I think the utility messages are meant to provide reassurance but have little relevance to reality.
Dinner tonight was pan fried tilapia, asparagus and tater tots for DH.

Neighbor Mary gave us lasagna she had made. We heated it in the microwave and I made a big salad. Easy dinner, easy cleanup.
Tonight will be the BLTs planned for last night.

The heat is here too and the smoke has finally reached us. It rained all around us yesterday but none for us.
Today is my birthday so I get to have a seafood boil tonight with fresh corn. If I can’t be by the beach let the beach come to me.

So far, our weather has been holding up….tomorrow and wed. will be warm ups but we shall see how hot our little boot gets out here.
I had melted cheese over corn chips and some ice cream. No idea for today.
I hope the neighborhood cannot hear my hysterical sobbing. 😭

Last night was Oriental spaghetti. Tonight, I'm thinking brats and fries.
So much cooler today. Air quality here imporved so much yesterday I opened my windows for a cool off.

Pork steak cooked in slow cooker with barbecue sauce. Veggie medley cooked in skillet with olive oil and butter. Asparagus, leeks, corn off the cob.
Leftover linguine dish tonight.
What a pleasure last night to sleep with the bedroom window open. Temperature down in the 50's during the early morning hours. High in the 70's today but heat returning tomorrow. A reminder of what summer in MN was like in former summers.

We caught a break today in NW Houston. Temperature only got to 104 degrees. EEEK. Needless to say, I'm not working outside, although I did water my hanging baskets this morning.

I left the house for the first time since DH died. ugh….we shall see what my DEXA scan shows. Can't be good, LOL. We hit 83 here but 90s in town (10 minutes in)…cool down tomorrow. I'm ready for fall.
