Laundry, moving some stuff around

Walked today. Dh and I grilled out - cooked enough food so don't have to think about dinner plans for a few nights.

Lift, Core & a little dog walk.

Wow, the WWW look like early fall has come your way. On Labor Day we sat outside on the patio for the first time since Memorial Day! It has been so crazy hot or humid and rainy this summer. Only got to the gym Sun and Thursday this week, ugh. After Monday off, Tuesday and Wednesday were jam packed…

I just read this was the hottest summer on Earth since they started recording stuff like that. It's scary......and we don't have the worst of it
HIT & a dog walk this morning. I'm hanging out with DS's dogs whom I let out at noon as their parents are both out of town for work. I'll do Dance2fit tonight.

It has felt like the heat has sucked my soul out of my body. Okay, that's a bit over dramatic, but it's been horrible. That's great you had cool weather for your WWW walk this week, Ruth.
The last 2 days have been busy. Ds and granddaughter spent 2 nights and left today. She turns 2 next month and so cute! We also had little baby during the day. It has been chaotic, fun, some teary times but mostly joyful times and I'm tired! Could only go outside in the morning bc of the heat. I take little baby out every morning on the deck to swing and sing. He's a good sport and doesn't mind my singing. It was nice having company this week.
We had a Sunsetter awning installed this summer for the deck (I can't remember if I mentioned that before). Had to remove a big maple tree a couple of years ago that helped shade part of the deck to about noon. The deck faces West and gets direct afternoon sun that beats down on it . The awning has helped and I'm looking forward to cooler weather when I can sit outside in the afternoon.

Mat pilates & a walk yesterday. A little walk this morning & we've been babysitting the grandpuppies since then. Their parents are at an out-of-town concert & will be home late tonight. Animal House!!

Animal House for sure! They want their treats.
Yesterday I played Mah Jong with friends. Where we’ve been meeting lately has a walking trail beside it so I stayed and walked afterwards.
This morning was cool and cloudy so I took advantage of it and walked. Right now I’m at dd’s babysitting. Monday is sil’s birthday. For his present we offered to come over tonight so they could go out to eat. Easiest babysitting job ever as he has been asleep for the night since we arrived.0 -
Love the grandpups Ruth!

We are still getting tomatoes from the garden. I made tomato soup and served it with a grilled cheese sandwich for supper.
Walked this afternoon.

I spent most of the day cleaning the house, with a pause for Yoga.

Wow, that is a lot of dogs who want their treats!
Got to the gym last night, Sunday, and the end of the class coincided with the end of a yoga retreat, so got to stay for a 30minute sound bowl session…wonderful way to end the weekend and reset for the week ahead.
Today, I have to attend a dinner function at school so will walk home afterwards as my exercise. TT

I went to 3 classes today (due to the fact that I will miss two days while out of town….more on that tomorrow). Zumba this morning, HIT & PiYo tonight. We actually had a rainy day for the first time since June; so that was lovely!

Worked at the clothes closet yesterday afternoon and then attended a meeting so no time to walk.
I walked today.

We headed west & spent the afternoon driving through and hiking around Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Here's the traffic jam we encountered.

LOVE that traffic jam!
Got to the gym last night…barely on time 5:27 for a 5:30 class! Way too stressful for me.
No gym today as I go to the eye dr for annual appointment and my eyes will be dilated…TT

Ruth: Now that's an unusual traffic jam! Such a beautiful national park.
TT: I have my annual eye exam this Friday. Not looking forward to getting my eyes dilated.
Walked this afternoon.

Had plans to get things done but a no go with a cold coming on
0 -
I feel like I might be getting a cold too (which gives me an excuse to skip the football game).
The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is spectacular. I went around all Wednesday saying "Wow!" The architecture is awesome. In not only blends into the Badlands, it showcases them. The exhibits were very well done & many of them interactive. We stayed the whole entire day. Since it's 4 1/2 hours away, it was late when we got home. Yesterday morning was the funeral of a dear friend who died of ALS. I went to Dance2fit last night & mat pilates this morning (plus some dog walks). I have too many pictures to begin to post them but you can find lots of pictures online.
You can also find out what you might look like if you lived during different times of TR's life. Here's me as a cowgirl.

Only thing I managed to do all day was changing out the summer curtains but with hubby's help

Yoga for me today. It's a good thing I'm not planning to do anything sweaty because the pilot light is out on the hot water heater. Hopefully an electrician can come over tomorrow & either light it or tell us we need a new one & then put it in. I'm not a fan of cold showers!

Ruth: You make a beautiful cowgirl! The museum building is amazing and I bet you didn't want to leave. Now you need to do a Teddy Roosevelt talk somewhere. You'd be fantastic at it. Hope you get your water heater fixed.
Sorry about your dear friend. ALS is devastating.
Next weekend is my adult Girl Scout camping weekend at my favorite Girl Scout camp. I'm on the committee to organize the weekend activities. Today we met at camp to set up as much as we could before the event. Got in lots of walking while there.
Ds and granddaughter are spending the night bc tomorrow we are going to the county fair which is in town this week. We still have a small agricultural fair and I love going to it. Looking forward to gd seeing the farm animals.
I decided to paint her pumpkin early to give it to her today. Luckily I was able to use a pumpkin from our pumpkin patch. Gd (who turns 2 next month) learned all about frogs, frog eggs, and tadpoles this summer so I painted a witch frog sitting on a lilly pad for her.

Love the pictures and the pumpkin!
I had read up on the TR library, it looks amazing. A trip to ND/SD is on our radar as they are two of the few states we haven't been to…but the trip is years in the future at this point 😎
Got to the gym last night and today at lunchtime. Today's class is strength and core, love it/hate it/need it. They are adding another strength and core on Wednesday at 5:30pm…I'm thinking I may rearrange my Wed so that I can add that in.
Hope your weather is okay at the GS camp…we are heading into 10 straight days of rain here in SE Virginia.
Happy Fall (tomorrow), TT

Ds, granddaughter and I were able to go to the county agricultural fair today. The rain held out until after we left. Thankfully it wasn't a long rain for all the people still at the fair. Gd loved the farm animals. She and ds rode the carousel and a ride that spins around twice. I was thrilled that she enjoyed the rides.

TT: I saw a weather report about the bad weather coming your way. Hope it's not as severe as predicted.
Walked this evening.

Cute pumpkin, Wonderland!
TT, if you come out to the TR Library, it will be well worth the trip!
Hope the weather settles down for you East Coast ladies!
Yesterday was Zumba & the morning and HIT at 4:30. I took a shower at the gym before I went to my Book Club since the electricans never called, so no hot water. They did come this afternoon, it's a faulty pilot light (which is good because it's a lot cheaper than a new hot water heater). The bad news is they didn't have one on hand. HOPEFULLY, they will get one shipped in tomorrow. So….I went to LIFT this morning & Core this afternoon (with another shower at the fitness center).

Hi all, I just caught up on the 100+ unread posts in this thread. Happy belated 65th b-day TT! I officially retired at the end of August. They tried to talk me into one more year but five years as a "rehired annuitant" is enough. Time to enjoy spending the money I've earned.
Had to say goodbye to my old car. We want to travel and tho I loved my 2003 Camry, it had 361,000 miles on it. Got a 2026 Camry hybrid EV (not a plug-in). Getting ~48 MPG so far. Hope it lasts as long as my old car, which my mechanic bought for his son.
I'm FINALLY cleared for exercise after healing from cataract surgery and the first stage of a dental implant.

Finaly felt well enough to handle doing some stuff around the house. This cold really did me in.
