Has anyone had a Goldilocks mastectomy
I have been diagnosed with 2 IDC lumps in right breast. One is estimated to be at least 4 cm. The other is about 2 cm. ER/PR+ her2-. I just met with my surgeon. She and the plastic surgeon think that something called the Goldilocks mastectomy might be just right for me because I’m 64 and not interested in any…

26 years old and just diagnosed with IDC
I’m 26. I’m engaged and have one biological son, 8, and one step son, 7. I found a lump in my breast 11/23. I just found out today from biopsy that it is IDC. The enlarged lymph node they found was clear of cancer though. My breast tumor is 3.5cm x 3cm. I’m not sure if grade or stage though. I didn’t think to ask. Would…

Is there any hope for long term survival?
I am being treated for stage I invasive carcinoma. I am sorry but everything I read says that my survival can be prolonged but I will probably die from breast cancer and within the next 10 years. I supposedly have good prognostic factors such as hormone positive and the her neg. but honestly does not seem to matter. I dont…

WHAT did YOUR lump FEEL like?
For those who have been diagnosed, can you answer my questions? 1. Did you find your lump on your own or did a mammogram pick it up? 2. Please describe to me what exactly your lump felt like to you or your doctor. 3. Is there a family history? I'll start with me. I found a lump during my own exam last week. It is about…

Life expectancy for grade 1 cancer without treatment?
Hello, I've been preparing for surgery for my apparent grade 1 breast cancer, and surgeon is futzing around with my surgical schedule and creating all sorts of stress, and I am absolutely dreading the side effects from the anti-hormone medication I know will be prescribed, and it just occurred to me to wonder... has anyone…

Radiologist told me I have breast cancer without a biopsy.
To start a few months ago I found a lump on my breast. I waited to see if it would go away. It did not so I made an appointment with my OBGYN and sure enough she felt the lump too. This was last week. Today I had a 3-D mammogram with an ultra sound directly after. Neither techs would give me any information about my…

My wife is scared...help
So I haven’t seen too many men post on here, so I hope that I am not intruding. Here is the story: My Wife got a clean mammogram in August, but in September she felt “something”’that didn’t seem right. She didn’t think too much about it until she felt it again in October. She had an ultrasound that showed “something”, and…

PASH surrounding malignant breast tumor
Good evening, I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. My pathology consists of PASH and cancer. I have been told that this is rare as the PASH is surrounding the cancer. I am wondering if this is bad because of PASH's rapid cell division or if it is indifferent. Im ER+ - the tumor is 2cm and my bone and ct scans were…

Does burning underarm pain always mean node involvement?
I am waiting for my lumpectomy surgery on the 21st. The tumor is small 7 mm and my doctor's don't think it has spread. The ultrasound showed clear nodes. However, and it's a big however to me, I have had burning and swelling under my arm since this all started (August). It's because of the burning that I went in for my…

get enough treatment without overtreatment
I was diagnosed with DCIS in one breast and LCIS in the other. The doctor is recommending a mastectomy on the DCIS side and an excisional biopsy on the LCIS side. I have read articles stating that DCIS is being overtreated. How can I know if I should go the more conservative route? The doctors I have seen so far feel the…

Odd question: Did your gut tell you?
For those of you who were going thru the whole "waiting and agonzing" process of getting a diagnosis one way or the other. Any just have the gut feeling that yes, it was cancer and were right? How about those of you who had a feeling of "no, my guts says it's benign"? and were right about that? How about those whose gut…

GET THE SHINGLES VACCINE!!!!
Before ANY treatment (if you have time) ask your doctor about the shingles vaccine. I am into my 18th radiation treatment, and came down with a H O R R I B L E case across my radiatated chest. My dermo says EVERYONE in our position should get it. THESE THINGS ARE HORRIBLE and have been the most painful part of treatment.
