Newly diagnosed - triple effing negative
This is my first post here...I have read some of the other threads and have found it so helpful. I was diagnosed March 31st, right before the long weekend here. My doctor told me it was invasive ductal carcinoma, that it would require surgery, likely chemo, and that I would not hear anything over the long weekend, although…

How accurate is MRI in showing lymph node involvement?
I have my lumpectomy on Monday and I'm starting to panic about every possible thing. My diagnosis completely blindsided me (as I'm sure was the case for many others!) and I just want to be as mentally prepared as possible for things going forward. I have always hated surprises and now...well. I had a pre-surgery MRI last…

Should I get Chemo?
I'm 49 years old and I was originally diagnosed with non invasive DCIS breast cancer, small tumor (12 mm), grade 2 in January 2021, but after the lumpectomy surgery in May it was revealed that it actually was minimally invasive and was upgraded to stage 1, grade 3. After surgery, the doctor reported that they still,…

Appointment with plastics coming up. Not sure what happens next
For context, I turned 31 earlier this year. Diagnosed with low-grade DCIS on 7 May. It's been a long wait between the diagnosis and my next appointment on 11 June with plastics. I'm supposed to be having another MRI on 10 or 14 June (depending on when my period starts), and then the appointment with plastics. I'm not…

Me: 47 yo, with 6 yo girl and 2 yo boy, lights of my life. Had them late which is a risk factor. In 2017, I had an MRI with contrast because of a recurring infection in right nipple. Nothing going on there, but small benign-looking nodes were spotted in left LIQ and right LOQ. Dismissed as intramammary lymph nodes, but was…

I get my IUD removed tomorrow. I am crushed and have cried on and off all day. I am considered "high risk", all the women(maternal side) in my family…

Has anyone had a Goldilocks mastectomy
I have been diagnosed with 2 IDC lumps in right breast. One is estimated to be at least 4 cm. The other is about 2 cm. ER/PR+ her2-. I just met with my surgeon. Is there any hope for long term survival?
I am being treated for stage I invasive carcinoma. I am sorry but everything I read says that my survival can be prolonged but I will probably die from breast cancer and within the next 10 years. I supposedly have good prognostic factors such as hormone positive and the her neg. but honestly does not seem to matter. I dont…

WHAT did YOUR lump FEEL like?
For those who have been diagnosed, can you answer my questions? 1. Did you find your lump on your own or did a mammogram pick it up? 2. Please describe to me what exactly your lump felt like to you or your doctor. 3. Is there a family history? I'll start with me. I found a lump during my own exam last week. It is about…

Life expectancy for grade 1 cancer without treatment?
Hello, I've been preparing for surgery for my apparent grade 1 breast cancer, and surgeon is futzing around with my surgical schedule and creating all sorts of stress, and I am absolutely dreading the side effects from the anti-hormone medication I know will be prescribed, and it just occurred to me to wonder... has anyone…

Radiologist told me I have breast cancer without a biopsy.
To start a few months ago I found a lump on my breast. I waited to see if it would go away. It did not so I made an appointment with my OBGYN and sure enough she felt the lump too. This was last week. Today I had a 3-D mammogram with an ultra sound directly after. Neither techs would give me any information about my…
