Happy birthday Colleen. Glad you are feeling better!
Sorry about the jobless situation, Harley. Spring is in hiding where I am too. I could certainly use some sunshine and warm weather to get me outside and exercising again. It's so easy to fall off the exercise wagon and so hard to get back on after every treatment.
Susan, sorry you have to spend your spring break getting tx. Hope you can have some fun while you are there.
I'm keeping busy planning summer camps for the kids and vacations. I'll be done with CMF by mid June, so I'm planning some trips around that. One thing I'm looking at is renting a condo in Florida for a week. I'm using this cancer as a motivator for the dh (who's iffy about taking time off)--life is too short NOT to take vacations!!!
Take care everyone.

Hey Samiam. I'm ready for spring, too. It's rainy and dreary here today. You've got it all figured out so stick to your "guns!" We've had a wake-up call and life is too short. It's time to take those vacations and do special things with those we love! Go for it! Dave and I are heading out over Memorial Day weekend for 2 weeks in the "west." We can hardly wait!
Susan, enjoy your time away. Wow! Doesn't it sound good to say...#13???? You're getting there.
Ginny, I've been thinking about you and hoping that you are doing fine and enjoying the new career. If you've been lurking on here, please post and give us an update.
Harley, thanks for the compliment on the picture. The picture change was long over-due. I just needed a nudge from one of the Illinois bc girls to get it up and running. You've got facebook figured out, gal! I'm still groping around, trying to find all the requests that I've received. LOL
Hi to all of you. I hope you are doing well today. I'm off in a few minutes to join a friend for lunch. I'll be back!

Hi everyone, just had my 1st week bloodwork followup. All was good!
Rita, Congrats on the grand baby!
Colleen, happy birthday. I'll be celebrating with friends this friday.
Susan, are you an april girl too? Just wondering because of your aprilgirl 40.
Colleen, I'm glad you're feeling better and happy birthday. I'll be celebrating with friends this friday How long did you have the extender? They really feel wierd and believe me it is nothing like the cosmetic procedure. I had that done years ago cuz as a ballroom dancer, I got tired of stuffing my costumes. Didn't go overboard so most people never realized.
Susan, are you an april girl too? Just wondering because of your aprilgirl 40.
Samiam, definitely go for the vacation. I live here in Florida and it's really getting humid again.
I'm shooting to have a dance benefit in June for breast cancer research. Even though I'll still be going through chemo, I will dance!
Ciao for now,
Susie

Samiam,
Definitely go on vacation, girl! Life is too short, so you need to take every chance to relax and enjoy every moment.
Thanks for the encouragement... I'm sure something will come up soon. Oh, and I know that it will warm up soon, too! I get so depressed when it is cloudy and/or rainy...
Rita,
I know what you mean... I am having trouble keeping up with all the requests on Facebook sometimes. I think it may be time for me to take a Facebook break. I was on there WAY too much!!
Hugs
Harley

Hello gals, a quick hello from Sedona AZ, what a gorgeous setting. The red rocks which I've seen in pictures are even more spectacular in person.
Golf has treated me exceptionally well. Have needed very few ibuprofen pills for my elbows, whoo hoooo !!!
Saw Jill and her hubby on Sunday. Took a short drive up thru the hills, beautiful scenary and good company made for a great evening. I'll post a couple of pics when I get home next week. Jill is looking great, and dealing with her txts with a kick butt attitude.
Hope all is well, I'm typing on my blackberry which is a PITA ... So farewell for now.

Carol...so glad you're able to golf! Golfing will make everything all better! LOL Tear up those links and have fun!

Colleen: Happy Birthday!
I, too am guilty of being addicted to facebook latey. My games are pathwords and scramble. Its really sad that I had to have my husband download scamble on his itouch so I can play it on vacation next week. Started to pack...have to get thru my CT scan today for the radiologist. My biggest fear is being cold. This NJ weather really stinks. I have to keep thinking that in 5 days I'll be in the sun and my toes will be in the warm sand and my hands will be wrapped a nice alcoholic beverage.

Mmmmm, warm sunny beach with a fruity drink, that sounds dreamy scarp. Where are you going???
Well, I've been on Facebook for a few months now and have never heard of these games. Sounds like they are addicting, though, so maybe its better this way.

I think I'll have to be on Facebook quite a while yet before I figure it all out! Do you think I'm too old to catch on to it? LOL (Don't answer that! LOL)
I hope everyone is doing well today! The sun is actually shining here today and so my mood is greatly improved. Unfortunately they're predicting more rain tomorrow!
Catch you later.

I saw the PS yesterday and everything went well. The cyst he removed was just that a cyst. That is all I thought it was, but it is always in the back of my mind that it may be more. He said if I was going to have the nipple etc done that he would not want to do it until after the summer. He said my body has been through so much now it should just take time to heal. Has anyone had that done? He said there are 3 different ways. But I think for right now I am going to take some time off and not think about it for a few weeks.
My mother had her scans and the good news is that it has not spread anywhere and the fluid has actually gone done. So the tx are doing something. She has one more to do on the 23rd and he said that would be it. So hopefully this will just make her comfortable. She still amazes me though. She also asked the Dr. when she can go back to Florida. Whether that happens or not I am not sure. I really do not think she will be able to live by herself. But it may take her trying for her to accept it.
Well I hope everyone is having a nice weekend, the weather in NY is pretty weird, it almost feels like a fall day it is very windy. They say it will be nicer tomorrow. I need nicer weather.

Hello CMF gals - we were out of town for a few days - just went to Portland Oregon where we used to live. It is our spring break, but had to get back for chemo so didn't feel like going on a real trip. When I am done with all of this (chemo, surgery radiation) we will go on a nice trip to Hawaii or Atlantis - next fall/winter some time.
Bolerodiva - yes, I am an april girl as my birthday was April 1st - believe it or not I think someone already had the name aprilfool registered on this site. I turned 45. I was able to celebrate with ONE margarita and about 15 friends while I was in Portland so that was wonderful.
Carol - we have gone to Sedona for the past 5 years for spring break - would have been funny to bump into you there! My in-laws live there. It is beautiful.
Harley and all facebookers - I am not into that yet,but my younger sister is obsessed with it and calls it her webkins - those with young kids know what webkins is. That just makes me laugh.
Scarp - I love scrabble and my husband got me a scrabble game for the DS so I can take my kids ds to chemo. LOVE scrabble.
Colleen - good to know that it was a cyst. Great news on your mom. It sounds like she has a great attitude - ready for Florida. I can't believe I will ever feel normal again - I think y'all know what I mean. In my dreams I have breast cancer too. That is kind of recent.
I have 11 more infusions to go. It was 32 degrees yesterday morning when I was on my way to chemo. Today is a sunny, nice 56 degrees - and we are headed to the beach with the dog.
Hope everyone is well.

Susan, the "beach" with the dog, it must be nice?!?! Could I request it stay that way next week in the PacNorWest?
Wow lucky gal to have Sedona your go to spot for cation. What a beautiful place on earth. We've been dealing with some wind the last couple days, other than it being tough on a golf game, the warmth feels great.
Two more days of "cation", heading home Tues. We've been dreamin as we see a few places for sale on the golf course where we stay with our friends. We're talkin park models (ok houses with wheels), but it would be perfect for us. It's free to dream, which is probably all we will be doing until we get some kids through college.
Sounds like all is pretty well here on the thread, good news to my eyes. Be well my friends, Carol0 -
Hey Carol...It sounds like you are having fun. We just had some friends tell us that we need to go through Sedona on our trip west. We may have to add that to our list of things to see and do. It sounds like you are having fun! That's super! Maybe the "get away" and the "golfing" is just what you needed to help chase away the anxiety and the aches and pains. And as for the dreaming...never stop! I'd love a place on a pretty golf course, too!

Hello All - I can't believe how much better I am feeling. Right now I am not scheduled to see any drs. until the end of this month. YEA!!!! My mom had her 5th tx and it really kicked her butt. She is considering not doing the 6th tx. She has already done 4 more then I thought she would be able to handle. So she has given it everything she has. Hey 5 of 6 tx for an 87 yr.old is pretty damn good. So now we are just waiting to find out her decisions about what she is going to do. It seems everyone here is doing well and enjoying vacations. I can't wait until July then my family and I will be going away.
Wanted to wish everyone a very happy and healthy Passover and or Easter. Lets hope that someone returns Spring really fast. I need warmer weather!!!!!
Love To All,
Colleen

I'm with you on that warm weather, Colleen! Hey, I'm so glad you're feeling better and I think your Mom is a true inspiration to the rest of us. Gosh! I think she's done wonderful getting through that many treatments at her age. Have you got your July plans all made? If so, where are you going?
I know I've told you all a hundred times, but this is the weekend that I'm going to KY to meet my new grandson. I am just so excited! I've had a hard time waiting! I hope to have pictures to post when I get home.
Happy Passover or Easter to all of you!

Everyone - happy Passover and Easter!
Rita - congrats on the new grandson - such a blessing. My kids are 10 and almost 12. Since I have been diagnosed now I hope they marry and have kids early - nothing I ever had thought about before! I'm sure you all understand.
Carol - your photo is beautiful. It sounds like you had a wonderful vacation. I love Sedona - I think I told you that my in-laws moved there 5 years ago and that is where we usually go for spring break. You should keep looking for that golf course home - great place to escape our Seattle weather.
Annie - you sound great - and like your recovery is going well.
Samiam - I am just a bit more than half way. My weekly schedule is really getting to me. I am trying to stay focused on the positives (not too many side effects) and that I have completed 14 with 10 to go , but OMG I am so sick of getting chemo. I know it could and often is so much worse. Sigh - okay thats the end of my rant.
Everyone have a wonderful, Passover and or Easter.
Susan

Samiam....Thinking of you today as you tackle #3 and sending good vibes and prayers your way for NO SIDE EFFECTS! I remember how tired I got of the treatments, the fatigue, and the nervous tension during the journey. You do get through it and when you're done, you'll appreciate each and every day so much more.
Susan, I know how you're thinking right now, but you will make it out of the tunnel and into the bright sunshine again. Sometimes it just gets so frustrating and irritating when we want to feel better and just "get on with our lives" and we still have another treatment staring us in the face.
This last weekend with my family....holding that new baby, coloring Easter eggs, playing with the two older grandsons (3 and 5 years old), going to church together, shopping for Grant's first 2-wheeled bicycle, and LAUGHING, is the perfect example of how things do resume to "almost" normal after the treatments. A few years ago I would have taken this for granted. Oh, I would have loved to be with them, but I wouldn't have appreciated how wonderful it was to truly share these experiences without fatigue, pain, or anxiety. So for those of you still in treatment......you're just hitting a few of the speed bumps in life right now and you'll be back and rolling down the road soon. Hugs to all of you!
I have pictures that I will try to post this week. I'm not too good at posting them so it may take me a few days to get them on the computer and up and running, but I'm such a proud Grandma that I'll eventually get them on.
I hope all of you had a nice holiday.
I'll be back later when the errands are done, the suitcase is unpacked, and some clothes are in the washer.
Love you all.....
Rita

Thank you for the kind thoughts, Rita. It sounds as if you had a wonderful weekend, and it is so nice to know that there will be a return to "normal" down the road. So, you have three grandsons age 5 and under? I know from experience (my 3 boys are 6 years apart) that you had a crazy, fun and LOUD Easter holiday.
My neutrophill counts were too low today, so I got the treatment but have to get a neulasta shot tomorrow. My other option was to wait a week and see if the counts rise on their own, but I'm in a hurry to get this over with, so I elected the chemo + shot. So far so good as far as SEs go.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Mine was filled with family, friends and good food, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Take care everyone.

samiam-i am about right where you are. just had cycle 3 of chemo with a neulasta shot. do you know they cost $5,000? i told the nurse i hoped i didn't get in a car accident on the way home!! anyway, i was told to take a claritin antihisamine pill, because the shot produces histamines, which make you really achey. seems to work some.
