    Harley,

That is just too funny! At least you can keep some humor through it all. I think to make it through sometimes you just have to laugh!! and have a few drinks along the way!

    Hope everyone is doing well!

    Bottoms up!

Welcome Mary! Pull up a bar stool! I'm not much of a beer drinker, once in a blue moon when it's really hot and the beer is really cold! Well anyway just wanted to say welcome!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

    Lynne,

Yes, it WAS very funny!  But, I was TOTALLY serious!!  I thought it would help make the whole nipple procedure ALOT EASIER, if we used my dh's nipple, and he agreed to let me use HIS...

My surgeon is REALLY a great guy!  Now he tells me, "You're special..."  Because of the whole Nipple story!!

I'm sending him a card, to thank him for all he did for me.  I won't ahve to see him until NEXT year, 'cause I just had my  first annual  exam...  It's a good thing, but I'm sad...  I'll miss him, since for awhile, I was seeing him every couple of weeks!

But, you are right... I think it helps to have a sense of humor about all this.

I already had a couple of drinks at my MIL's today... I think I should stop.

    Cheers, ya'll!!

I think my brain is waterlogged!   It still does nothing but RAIN here!  More torrential downpours this afternoon--at least 2 inches of rain...

The pollen, the mold, my allergies--I am one miserable BIT@@!  Granted, in two months, I'll be whining about how hot and dry it is (hopefully)...I just cannot believe our weather but when I look around, just where would be the perfect place to move to???

Nursing my ML--need to have a beer run tomorrow--if the low roads are passable--this is beginning to wear on my nerves!!   I have planned a worse case scenario--DH thinks I have lost my mind!!--but, I want to call and find someone who can navigate out to our boat at the marina, hook it up and somehow, get it to our driveway...so, I can stock it up with provisions should we need to just float away one of these days!!!   Damn!  This is too weird!!!

big hugggsssss to all--and, remember to kick my butt if I soon ask anyone to pray for rain!!!

Thanks for the welcome Lynne, Lynn is my hubby's name.  The beer tasted great last night; sure was glad I was back to feeling good.  The second treatment kicked my butt.  I guess I should go back and read the "nipple" story.  Sounds like I missed a good laugh.

Greetings to all of my drinkin' buds!!!

I'm at JFK just waiting for my flight home. I got stuck here a little longer than I wanted to so I'm having some red wine (a Zin) while I wait. I think I just might have one more on the flight so that I can get some sleep.

I think it rained in Chicago while I was gone (?) but I know for sure it was raining across the U. S. of A. as there were quite a few bumps the past few days. I only hope I can get some gardening done on Sunday and Monday. If  not, I can always have some more wine! Tongue out

    Cheers!

Sorry y'all are soggy and enduring the attendant pollen, mold, allergy routine. Come on out and visit! Absolutely not even a hint of rain here - not for weeks and weeks and weeks. In fact, we may be done until the end of October. Frown

I was outside dead-heading my roses and being thankful I live in the coastal areas. Inland it's nearly 100 deg. Of course, the humidity is down to about 10% so we don't even need the A/C - but I came in to pour a nice tall vodka and lemonade. Yes, I picked about a half a dozen lemons, too. And I cut back my Rosemary hard - I may dig it up if my cocktail gives me some energy.

Anyway. a long spring of fresh Roasemary makes a delightful swizzle stick in fresh lemonade and vodka.  Invigorating!

Okay, Buds, tonight I'm drinking (BTW, only had the one last night) because my land line is out so my DSL is out so my desktop computer is out. Thank gawd for cell phones and wireless laptops!

I'm of to NY again early Tuesday but AT&T says the land line might not work until Wednesday. So my poor mother has to be at my house with a toddler, 4 dogs (hers and mine), no computer and only a basic cell phone. Guess I should leave her some wine?????

I pretty much have short layovers all next month but if I get adecent one where I can go out at night I'll let ya'll know! Cheers!

Mary - Hoping your tx goes better!

Harley - I miss my PS. He was great! and it didn't hurt he was easy on the eyes! He always reminded me of Clark Kent!! LOL

    Gotta get to work!

My next treatment is Tuesday, May 6th so I have a few more days of feeling good.  I'm taking advantage of it by dieting and going to the gym.  I've already put on 6 pounds and I had plenty to lose before all this started.  I worked really hard this time last year and lost 15 lbs. before my knee starting bothering me.  I had a summer of limping and PT until I gave up and had surgery in September.  By the time I could workout again I put the 15 lbs. back on.

So I need to be good this week, which means no Miller Lite til Friday (not that I'd have it during the week anyways)  My reward for doing good this week is Friday's beer.

I'll come back as see what all of you gals are enjoying and let my mouth water.  My 90 yr. old Dad lives with us and everyday at 4pm he has a martini.  Not that I like martini's but I still find myself jealous when he drinks it.  Hope everyone has a good week,  Mary

A cowgirl, who is visiting Texas from Arkansas , walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud. She sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When she finishes them, she comes back to the bar and orders three more.

The bartender approaches and tells the cowgirl, "You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time."

The cowgirl replies, "Well, you see, I have two sister s. One is in Australia , the other is in Kentucky When we all left our home in Arkansas , we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my sisters and one for myself."

The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there. The cowgirl becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. She orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.

One day, she comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When she comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss."

The cowgirl looks quite puzzled for a moment , then a light dawns in her eyes and she laughs. "Oh, no, everybody's just fine," she explains, "It's just that my husband and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking.  Hasn't affected my sisters though."

Scoothching over to free up seats for the new posters!   Welcome--first round is on me!!!

I like the new Miller Chill, too...refreshing!  Glad to see some Miller Lite sisters!!!

Had a glorious day here today--perfect--got outside and worked a bit in yard--got peonies staked up, pulled some weedy crap (easy when the ground is so soft!).   Wasn't out too long because everything is covered with the crappy yellow pollen that closes up my throat!   Hubby got to go on a boat rescue mission today!   Someone's boat at the marina had broken loose and was located about 4 miles away hung up on some rocks.   He had fun helping tow it back to the marina.   And, got a chance to see that our boat is still there and all is ok with it.

Donna--you home from Florida?  Hope you had a great trip--waiting for a report!!!

Just let me know who wishes they were drinking--I'll for sure have one for you!!!

    Hi all,

Jaybird - loved the joke! I think I'll start drinking that way! The only sisters I have are the ones here.....I'm going to be drinking alot!!

Linda - I'll have a drink to that!!

Junie - Sooo glad you finally saw a nice day!

I received bad news today, my Grandmother passed. She was the most wonderful person. She had a doll collection and she would just give the dolls to whatever little girl that might stop to speak to her while she was sitting on her porch. Some dolls were very expensive, but she didn't care. She just loved watching how happy the girls would be when she gave them the dolls. She lived a long, healthy life.Would've been 99 on her birthday this year.

Please have a toast with me this evening to celebrate my Grandma's life.

    Hi Buds~

Junie & Sam - glad to hear you guys are finally drying out!  Enough is enough!

Back from Florida and I'm all tan and fat!  Lots of good food, drink, & sun = perfect vacation!  BF Mark and I got along really good too.  I was afraid we might not, as our scuba trip last month was edgy to say the least.

The highlight was going to Marineland, up the road from us a couple of miles and the girls (Mark's sister and her friend Ann) and I had a "dolphin encounter", which I've always wanted to do.  One of the two dolphins we played with, Roxie is pregnant and due in June.  She rolled over and let us feel her swollen belly and I felt her baby move or fin kick or something - awesome!

Now it's back to the old grindstone....can't wait to get home and have a drink or two...

    Cheers,

    Donna

Hey there, Linda!  Good to see you again!

Hey Junie, Sam, lynne, and Casino Girl, too!!

    Lynne,

So sorry to hear about your Grandma!!  Oh, and she would be 99, too!!

my ps isn't cute...he's in his early 50's, but he always hugs me at least 2 or 3 times.  He's nice, but I will be glad when all these ps appts are finshed, and my nipples are back where they belong!!

Sending some HUGS your way, and having a drink in memory of Grandma!  She sounds like a wonderful woman!!

    Cheers!

She sounded like a wonderful woman to give her dolls away like that.  She was very special.  Mary

    Lynne,

Sending a hug to you on the passing of your Grandma. I only had one, growing up, and she lived in Mississippi. I'll raise a glass in your Grandma's honor.

I got my drain out today! WOO HOO! Now I can take a real shower. I have a partial pathology report from my surgeon. This Cancer was also high nuclear grade. It could have been ugly if it hadn't been caught so early. I guess this second Mastectomy was worth it. I see my Onc next Monday for the final pathology report. I'm still hoping for NO chemo...once was enough!

Here's to Lynne's Grandma and a good path report...

Lynne, so sorry to hear about your grandmother.   She sounds like a neat lady.

I, too, grew up with only one grandparent and she died when I was in my early 20's.   I don't have any grandma role to model myself after to my now 8 grandkids.   Laffin--my stereotype grandma has gray hair twisted in a bun, wears wire-rimmed glasses, thick-soled shoes and an apron, and bakes cookies...NOT  ME!!!

Glad Donna's trip was great!   We may head over to the casino for my BD in June--I'll give you a call if we're going to make it!

Sam, glad you're drying out, too--3 days of sunshine and I'm so spoiled already!!   Now, just crank up the heat a little and I'll be happy!

Wow!  I have a lot of drinks to have tonight!!!  good trip, toast to grandma, sunshine, drains out (I hated my drains!!!--double drink to that one!!) loving caregiver, good joke and somone who is actually enjoying their job......big hugggsssss to all!!!

I have them all lined up--next round is on Sam!!!

    Hey drinkin' buds~

Waiting for the tornado watch to expire here.....Liz might be getting slammed in Ponca City, but so far the Tulsa area is being passed by.  Liz - hope you have your tornado emergency kit ready:  flashlight, extra batteries, beer, shoes, wine, weather radio, beer, candles, wine... Smile

    Junie - drains?

I worked in the yard after work today and got slimy sweaty. Not that it takes a lot to make me slimy these days, but it was really humid.  I cut down a small tree in my backyard with a hack saw!

Recently went on Femara (quit Armidex in Jan after 2 years due to joint pain) and so far so good on the Femera.  Much more tolerant for me. I just know you were all wondering about that ....Tongue out

Anywho - I concocted a new cocktail this evening, I call it an Island Girl.  It's lime vodka (never tried lime before) with Fresca (calorie free) with a fresh lime wedge.  Yummy and refreshing indeed!

Hope everyone has a happy evening.

    Cheers,

    Donna
