    Lori

Yes, the prep really DOES suck, but you've got the right idea...  Vodka is clear!!!  LOL

Good luck with your colonoscopy.  I had mine last year, and just can't wait til my next one, in TEN years!   NOT!!  LOL

At the rate that they've removed my body parts you have to wonder how much of my body will be left in 10 years to scope.

Good Luck Lori. Don't forget the jello shots.

Hi all.  I am so glad everyone is doing OK.  Lori...good luck tomorrow on the colonoscopy.  Haven't done that "route" of surgery yet myself, but I need too.  This cyberbar is so amazing...meeting people from all over.  If it becomes too popular they will have to hire a bouncer.  Not sure what his name will be?  Harley44, you have the right idea about the vodka, but I can't handle that swill straight.  Me and Stormy have been enjoying some beverages, and I am so glad I met her here....she has really kept my head above water at times. Wow....jello shooters on the side.....haven't had one of them in a long time.  Enjoy everyone...HunkyD

    Evening Ladies,

It's been triple digit heat here for 8 days in a row.  We're taking a short road trip to Colorado.  I've already mapped out the brewpubs.

Best of luck with the prep and scope, Lori.  I'll have a large glass of wine for you.  At least you still have your liver.  Cheers

Hunky, I have vague memories of tequila jello shot/mistletoe parties in college.  It seemed to make sense at the time.  A bouncer sounds yummy.  Bring him on.

Thanks ddlatt, I'll have to check that out.

So CAZ, are you and Hunkydory in charge of hiring our new bouncer? Can it be a guy with sexy hands, and even a sexy voice. Maybe it'll be a new school of bouncing; where it doesn't hurt so badly when the bouncer takes you home with  him.

P.S. Lori who are you betting on in the Preakness tommorow?

P.S. The Derby has the Mint Julep. I'm not sure what the drink on the old Hilltop is however I know that it must include bourbon.

Hi gals! Been away for awhile....just too darn busy...and still working on my bridesmaid dress for a wedding in CA next weekend...will leave for Vegas for a couple of days, then to CA, then back to Vegas for a few more days. Finally got our ad in to rent our condo...just in time for that tornado last week. It did a lot of damage ALL around us...missed the school and our condo right next door. There is a house w/tree right through the middle of it (very close), and so many roofs missing, huge trees down, fences down...can't believe it skipped over the condos! But it still looks sorta like a war zone right there...no one was hurt though...thank God!  But I have missed you all, and esp our Hot Tatties Lounge....and Jocks and Pants. Just haven't had time to hang out lately! Carol....yikes....triple digits already...those of us with those horrible hot flashes just wouldn't be able to stand it. Hope your trip to CO will be heavenly. Stormy, you always crack me up! HunkyD, glad you thought of us having a bouncer...and Stormy is already on the lookout for one! I like those requirements you thought of. And Junie, we are still having tons of rain too...luckily it stopped long enough a couple of days this week so we could get our new central heat/ac units installed. Now my DH keeps complaining about how cold his nose is....I do tend to keep the temps quite low. Lori, hope the procedure today went real well, and you only heard good news! I know the prep was horrible...and hopefully you won't have to go through that again for a few years. Anyway, just stopped in to say hello....hope to get to stay longer soon!

    Cheers,

    Kathy

Stormy, thanks for the jello shots. Never even thought about those and never had any! And, no I will not be betting. Still waiting on my winnings from the last race!

Carol, your triple digits are there to stay for awhile! But then you know that! Have a wonderful wonderful time in CO and enjoy the cooler temps.

Kathy, good to see you and glad you didn't get blown away by the tornado. And you are off and running again! Have a great time in Cali and Vegas.

Well, the test was fine, and doc said there was a teeny tiny polyp. So tiny that he didn't even cauterize it. Prep was not so fun. You have 2 pills to take then wait until you have movement then start drinking. Well, before the drinking even started, I got sick. Empty stomach, so only thing to come up was bile. Reminded me of morning sickness when I was pregnant! Then after all the drinking, I told S.O. that it reminded me of going through chemo, just an ick feeling. By Friday morning tho, I so wanted something to drink, I was so thirsty. Told him it would be so nice to have a strawberry/banana smoothie when I was done. Well, guess what he had waiting for me when I came out? He is such a sweetie!

Hope everyone is doing well, I am off to play in the dirt, and then maybe lounge around in the pool for awhile!

    Hugs

    Lori

Lori, Glad your results were good! Rough time w/ the prep though...you really had a bad time of it. I just hate drinking all that stuff (but now my dr just has me drink the small size stuff, so not too bad)....but never got sick like you did. Awwww.....your S.O. sounds as sweet as Pants and Jocks...I bet they would have had your drink of choice waiting, too. That was prob the best one you ever tasted, after going though all that.

OK...no one told me that Vegas was going to be so HOT this time of yr. DH said it was over 100...please say it ain't so!!!!! Boy, the hot flashes will be working overtime. Maybe it will cool down before Wednesday....pretty please... :)  Pants, I feel another one coming on, would you be a sweetie and make me something really cold and really tall? I'll just let Jocks continue to give me a foot massage while I'm waiting...take your time! Looking around and seeing junie, Stormy, HunkyD, Carol....sitting in the shade enjoying their drinks. OOPS.....was that Lori that just jumped in the pool and splashed everyone??? Way to go, now we're all jumping in...sure feels nice and cool. And here comes Pants with my drink...

Dee, Harley and everyone else....come on down to the pool!

    Cheers,

    Kathy

Kathy, it is hot in Vegas, but it is a dry heat, no humidity. But you shouldn't be spending too much time outside, except to get from one place to another. And inside the Casinos, it's freezing!

I worked outside all day yesterday, my thermometer in the afternoon read 101. Surprisingly, I was just hot and sweating from the heat, didn't have hardly any flashes. I was surprised and ohhhhh so glad!

The pool feels wonderful! Think I'll have one of those foot massages when you are done Kathy. I think my feet hurt the worse from the Arimidex, especially at the end of the day.

Have a wonderful weekend girls, what's left of it. I am back out to play in the dirt today!

    Cheers

Hi Lori, What do you do in the dirt? (Please excuse my ignorance). Whatever it is you really have a beautiful tan from it. Good news on your tests BTW.

Jock is not only good at the foot massages, he's really helpful grabbing my leg when we all jump in the pool. I try really hard not to kick him.  Ow. This silly cast will probably be on for another 3.5 weeks.

How do you all manage the heat? I'm glad that you have the bar to come to.Hot and Sticky will be here soon enough for us but I'm not sure it ever get's triple digit hot eough for the case of Maryland produced Sangria I brought for us all to enjoy with the crabs left over from the Preakness party yesterday. Hope y'all like Old Bay.

Kathi, Goldie, Hunky D, Stormy, and all,

I just LOVE summer, so I'll be hanging out by the pool or laying on the beach as much as possible!!  I'll bring drinks for all!!

    Hey Stormy,

I used to live in Maryland, in Columbia.

    Cheers!

Stormy, I was going to ask how your leg was doing, and how much longer for the cast. You must have been reading my mind. "Playing in dirt" is gardening. We put in more flowers, some that we bought and some that we just moved.

Kathy, if you haven't left yet, where in Vegas are you staying, and where in Cali are you going? You know we want to see pictures of you in your bridesmaid dress!

Remember girls, don't spend too much time in the sun if you have had radiation! Or perhaps we have a special kind of sun here at Hot Tatties, and it doesn't hurt us in any way. Just gives us a beautiful tan!

Well I sure had my share of beers this weekend, working outside in the heat. I also think I found a new friend! When S.O. went to the docs (same one that did my heinyscope) he was telling him about my sleepness nites because of hot flashes. Well, he gave a script for me, for valium! 10mg. I took half of one, and I think I actually got to sleep for 4-5 hours. I could sure see becoming addicted to that. He did say, NOT to take it every nite. S.O. just joking around said "Hey, if it's good enough for Elvis, it should be good enough for me!"   LOL

Stormy, thanks for the Sangria! I only had crabs once, at Joes Crab Shack. Never get them again, they are too much work! So I will pass on the crabs, unless Pants would like to crack them for me and pull the goods out. Out of the crab legs that is!

Hey Harley, I'll meet ya over at the Banana Hammock!

    Hugs,

    Lori

Stormy, I had forgotten that your cast would still be on...glad that Jock is helping you to jump into the pool with it. BTW, is it ok to get it wet? I know our tattie tenders have been taking good care of you! Thanks for the Sangria!!! Love the crabs (edible kind, sillies!), but can't handle much Old Bay. Got sick yrs ago (too much champagne!) but since we had lots of shrimp also, loaded with Old Bay, when I taste too much of that it makes me think I'll get sick. I know it wasn't from the shrimp, but that is what came up....sorry TMI, I know! But so sweet of you to bring all that for us. BTW, do we have a kitchen here at Hot Tatties Lounge? Maybe with shirtless hunks manning the stoves?

Lori Staying at MGM for a couple of nights, then to an area near LA for the wedding a couple of nights, then back to Vegas at the RIO for 4 nights. We have some shows reserved, and also thinking of doing that "show in the sky" thing at RIO where you ride up high in the floats....sounds fun! The rooms are just at amazing prices right now in Vegas. Where did you stay? Lots of times we stay at Palace Station, when they send us free rooms. We get a car, and like to go out to off-strip places too, like Rampart, and the Coast casinos. One classmate is joining us..will be a little strange as we never did hang out together, but he was trying to get up a 41st reunion in Vegas, when found out we would be there...he is nice though, so we will need to include him in stuff we do. They ended up having the 41st in Hawaii last weekend, since most still live there. So this will be our "pau hana", which they have monthly now.Funny how we didn't get together except for once in 40 yrs, and now they get together monthly...really a nice group. Hope you get to play in the dirt again today! Glad the Valium is working...and that you will take it easy with it. If it weren't for hot flashes, my mom likes the green "sleepytime"  tea (forget the name...has a bear on the front)...works for her. Too hot for me to drink tea before bed though! Mine have mostly stopped at night, now that I keep the house freezing cold..Dh has to stay under lots of blankets...lol. Still get them during the day though, but nice not to wake up in sweat. If I wake up, I am just "hot" and can take off the covers for a few min, and then am ok. I hope yours will ease up, and also that now you can get some good sleep. Have you tried the advil pm or tylenol pm? That helps me sometimes. I love your new name for the procedure btw...."heinyscope"...rofl.

Happy Monday everyone! Looks like a nice sunny day here (amazing...no rain???)!

Kathy, our trip was strictly business. Stayed at the Sahara, took the monarail over to convention center, as it is right there.

I have tried the PM medicines, didn't work. This tea you talk about, you say "too hot". Too hot as in spicey or temperature? My flashes are opposite of yours, not so bad during the day, and wake me up at night!

Kitchen, shirtless hunks? Of course, we can have what ever we want! If you're gonna dream, might as well dream big! Cool  I hear we are getting bouncers. I hope no one gets thrown out!

They just had an earthquake in CA, LA area. Hope that is done! My grandkids are in San Diego area, they said they felt it.

Anyways, have a blast and don't leave them too much of your moolah!

    Cheers

But I LOVE Old Bay!!!   I guess it's a Maryland thing!!

    Goldie,

Glad you got some help for those nights when you are 'sleepless, but not in Seattle'...    I also have those hot flashes at night, and they are worse when I've been drinking, so if I need to get up early in the a.m., I stay off the sauce...   no fun!

    Cheers all,

You all will not believe this but now that I've gotten thru with the hot fllashes I have a huge problem with getting too cold. In the winter my DH had my side of the bed stacked with an electric blanket and two down comforters. It is like my body doesn't have a thermostat anymore. I can even stand under a hot shower and shiver. It's a grand thing that my DH is a toasty furnace to sleep up next to.

The thought of bouncers and grill guys is neat. Can we have a guest spots for bouncers, say like George Clooney night? Or Kevin Costner night? How about Tom Brady night? Joe Montana? Maybe bouncer would just be another word for golf pro? Maybe Goldie, we could get you so tired out playing golf that you'd have to sleep.

Lordy, this place has been busy.  I am trying to keep up...we have people flashing, splashing, playing in the dirt, triple digit temps, CO, Vegas, casts, crabs, Heinyscopes, Sangria, Lori scoring valium, sleep, sweats, "pau hana", wind, quakes, Old Bay drinkers, Old Bay pukers, possible new bouncer, and I don't know what else.  Oh, I think Elvis was in there some place too.  I just wish you all a pleasant Monday and am glad to be here at the lounge.  Cheers to ya all!  I'll be out by the pool with my feet in. HunkyD

Edited to add...I didn't know Old Bay was a seasoning salt.  Pants just told me.

Hunky, as always.......you crack me up!!!!! Wink You summed everything up in a nutshell!

Stormy, I must just be an ole stick in the mud. No derby, and I don't do golf either. Putt putt on occasion. Not a big sports person here. Give me my garden and playing in the dirt with a beer and I'm happy! Sorry you are so cold, I can't say which is worse. Freezing or flashes? I guess life will never be normal for us!

    More hugs

wow!  been gone a few days to visit family, kids, grandkid--wonderful visit, but glad to be home.  Like to froze to death--heavy frost two mornings.   Had to have on sweatshirts and jackets when outside during the day  Have spent the last hour in our hot tub here and am now all wrapped up by the pool, soaking up warmshine and watching the water nymphs splash and jump and play!!!    If weather is nice tomorrow, might do some playing in the dirt, too!   What's with the Old Bay spice?  I use it in most of my shrimp recipes and a few others--love the stuff!   And, we're getting a bouncer???   Sure hope nobody's needing to be bounced from our lounge.   Cheers!!!

Hi Janie.  Alcohol is an on going issue for me.  It has been my husband's and my tradition for the last 5 years or so to meet at the American legion Friday night (and some weeks one other night) and wind down with a few drinks.  I know on Fridays we sit around forever and I've often had 4 or 5 drinks.  Do I need to stop this tradition?  I've already cut down on how much I have when I go out but I want to be able to enjoy myself and not obsess about the 2 or 3 drinks I do have.  Am I making an okay choice to continue my TGIF?

wow!  It has taken Jocks and Pants a while to refill the pool!  They've talked to the bouncer and he is welcome to swim, but no more cannonballs!   They are going to keep him busy refilling our drinks!!!

Leslie, welcome to our cyber lounge!   Doubt that you will find anyone here who will tell you to stop your TGIF enjoyment.  We all enjoy our various cocktails in varying quantities.   And, we even have non-alcoholic drinks when needed.   So, belly up to the bar or grab a lounge chair by the pool and reeeelaaaax!!!

    hugggssssss to all!!!!
