No. I do think that we should bring them in for everyone to pose with for our 2010 calender featuring Miss Hunhydory as The Queen of May. Draped invitingly with fronds of flowers, her scantily clad arm lifts her Rocky Mountain Gold to the sky.

Love hearing about horses!   About a hundred years ago, in high school, a group of us would go to a local stable and ride for an hour or so when we could scrape up enough money.  In later years, I was bucked off a horse; had one get spooked and took off...I always got back on until a trail ride in Colorado...the horse stumbled on some loose rock and almost fell going down a narrow mountain trail...The trail was so narrow that on my left, I couldn't see anything but waaaay down the side of the mountain!   When I got off that horse I promised myself--THAT is the LAST ride.   And, for many years it has been--but I do want to do one more horseback ride along a beach.....

speaking of horses, Jocks has promised to have a super big TV in the bar tomorrow to watch the Kentucky Derby!  I've loved the Derby for years.   Got to attend in 1984 when a filly named Althea raced.  I remember getting in this stupid argument with a stanger in the betting line--he was one of those people who didn't think a filly should race, and anti-women doing anything....I bet my last 20 bucks on that gal to win....sigh...finished waaaay back, but at least she was there and she tried!

big huggggssssss to all...gotta go make sure Pants and Jocks have our bar all stocked up for tommorow--lots of ice and makings for "virgin" drinks--and air conditioning!!!!

OK, I'll wear a hat but please don't make me drink one of those Mint Julips.  LOL.  Hey, I never have been a calendar girl before.  I like the idea of hoisting the Rocky Mountain Gold.  Actually, the Silver Bullet would be my choice.  I am watching my weight. Ok, gals...looks like we are in for a big day at the lounge.  I better find out some odds and pick my pony!  Cheers!  HunkyD

I'd go for some Lynchburg Lemonade over a Mint Julip. Not tonight though. I'll sit back and cheer for whoever can root there way through that slop down there in Louisville. Nice Hat hunkydory.

Wow--everyone sure outdid themselves on these gorgeous hats! Just hard to fit us all, with the wide brims....turn s-l-o-w-l-y please...lol. Not watching the derby, but nice to be part of the festivities! And I'm SOOOO glad we have nice sunny weather, always, at the Banana Hammock, cause its been raining and storming here since Thursday night. Nice to have a warm, breezy respite from it all. Oops....siren is going off (really)...must see what the alert is for...hopefully not a tornado. Bye all, Kathy

Oh,  just stopping by to say hi to all.

I am too pooped to say much. Worked outside most of the day in the wind.

HunkyD, you crack me up! Boilermaker would be appropriate with me in the pool.....and dahling ....that hat is to die for!

Junie, I am not into horses, but did go on camping/hiking trip....back in the day...and have a similar story riding horses up a mountain, on a skinny trail. My horse bucking all the way up because the horse behind me kept nudging my horse in the butt. Trail was right on the edge of the mountain. Not being a horse person, by the time we got back down the mountain, my arse was bleeding.

Well, I am done for now.....gonna grab a nice cozy seat in front of the big screen tv and watch  my recorded Survivor.

    Cheers

wow!  The Derby was fun to watch...too bad all the excitement is over in two minutes!    Jocks and Pants did a great job keeping us in drinks while dodging all the big hats!!  In real life, I'm thinking to build an ark and sail down and rescue Kathy--think we have received close to 10 inches rain in last 3 days.   Glad to pop in here and see sunshine!!!

    Hello everyone,

Let me buy you a quick cold one. I love coming here. Doesn't the thought sound good to you inside, of Lori plunging into that cool water.

Thanks for the drink Stormy!  It is likely to be gone quickly.  My nerves are a little worn thinking about upcoming surgeries.  I am going to enjoy these next two weeks and swill the drinks down like a queen.

Mine That Bird....do people get drunk and then name their race horses?  LOL!  I did read that the average weight loss for a horse running the derby is 15 lbs.  Geeze, wish I could do that in a couple minutes.  Hope everyone has a great rest of the week...guess I'll sit here with Stormy and get blitzed....or Shlitzed...is that still a beer?  Anyway...later all...come on down to the lounge.  The TT boys are complaining about not enough customers lately.  Tips are down I guess!  HunkyD

Tips???  wow--never thought of "tips" in cyber world.   Will bring $$ with me next time!!!

I'm asking Jocks and Pants to get massage table ready and huge virgin Bloody Mary's ready for Wahine.    (she had to take shelter from nearby tornado, but all is okay and no damages to her home)....Hopefully, she'll be along before the ice melts in her drinks!   If not, we'll add some Vodka and drink them!!!

Hunky, speaking of getting drunk and naming things--many years ago, in another lifetime, I agreed to invest in part ownership of a racing grayhound.   In a somewhat not sober moment, we named it "That's Our Mutt".   The dog raced at tracks in Florida, and did win some races--although never enough to recoup the groups' initial investment...only and last time for me for any investment of that kind!!  Fun days, but a couple lifetimes ago!!!   Gonna sit here and get totally blitzed with you!!

    huggggssss to all!

It's hard work naming race animals, you can't quit your day job. You never, ever name one for some one that you like.

Hunkydory I hope your hanging together allright. We use to refer to Schlitz as Joe Schitz . Have you ever had a Yuengling? Local favorite here. Don't get too rapped up your two weeks, we will all be thiking of you.

Wahine, eek. I'm so glad you're safe. What a scare. I think that we all need a Bloody Mary and a massage.

Lots of rain here. The fish are jumping out of the resivoir so that they can graze on the flooded grass. No kidding.

    Hi ladies,

I hope everyone is doing well, I miss coming in here to talk, but I haven't been feeling very well lately. I have just been lurking around for a few weeks. Please have the "tatatenders" bring me some shots of tequila and a cold beer! Maybe that will make me perk up =)~

Hope to be back at the lounge soon...Dee

I'm on it, Dee.  Pants, Jocks,  pour our friend a smooth tequila.  Welcome back.  I hope you're feeling better soon.

Hunky, actually a schlitz malt liquor tall boy was my first alcoholic drink.  My palate has changed a great deal in 3 decades.  Who doesn't remember their first?

Junie, the most interesting dog name I've ever heard is "Sweet Baby Jesus."  Just a pet.  Not a racer.

    Enjoy your evening, ladies.

    • Junie...loved the greyhound story and "in another lifetime."   I have a lot of another lifetime memories I am still trying to forget, and some that I want back. Glad you joined us at the bar. Stormy..Joe Schitz? Good one! Sounds like you are good at naming things! I have not tried a Joe Schitz and don't think I want to.  I also have not heard of a Yuengling.  Hope Wahine is OK.  Massage and Bloody Mary is just what she will need.  I have only seen one tornado in my life, and it wasn't big enough to drop a house on a witch...but I know I never want to see another one. Once DH and I were staying at a hotel for a work convention in Dallas Fort Worth area when a big storm came through. Hotel TV flashed big warning and it said to get in the bathtub. We couldn't because we had it filled with beer and ice. That was scary!!  Wonder if Lori heated up the strip in Vegas?  Dee....hope you get to feeling better. I think these drinks will help you out.You must be off the antibiotics? Hope your LE settles down too. Almost Friday!   Yea!!  HunkyD.
    • P.S. I just re-read my post and wanted you to know all that beer in the tub was not just for us...it was for husbands work buddies too!   Jeeze...we usually only use the two large trash cans in the room for a cooler when it's just us. The laundry bags they provide make nice liners to hold the complimentary ice.

    Hey Hunky,

I spent my college years in east Texas, and often the tornado warnings included info like, " it has picked up a bunch of cattle and is headed south."    Poor sober cows.

Hunky--laffin!!!   Somewhere, maybe 1,00 pages back there were some drinker's traveling tips posted--using the room's trash cans to ice down beer was posted.   I learned that trick in one of those other lifetimes, like when I worked and traveled.   (and, yes, learned the hard way to line the can with the plastic laundry bag!!!)   What fun!!!

Where are our "boys"???   Putting my order in for a humongous, super spicey Bloody Mary for first thing tomorrow!!!

    hugggssssss to all!

One of my employees confided in me once that the best place to chill wine is in the toilet tank. Never tried it myself.

Hey Marlegal, I'm with you. There is no world without good bourbon.

Hi girls and Happy Mothers Day.

Haven't had much time to post, but I have been reading. Business is very busy this time of year, and any free time I get (weekends) I am out playing in the dirt! And having a few beers!

Hope everyone is doing well. Dee, hope you are feeling better.

I see our Tattie Tenders have set up a beautiful Mothers Day Sunday Brunch for us, with everyones favaorites!

    Cheers

That was a really nice brunch that the Tattie Tenders set out, I don't think that I'll eat again for a week. Sometimes that Mimosa with a strawberry is the best way to start the day. I hope that everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day as much as I did.

    Hi Drinkin' Buds~

Geez, been forever since I've been on the boards.  I basically work 2 FT jobs right now, but I'm working on changing that.  I just have one job 'officially' but it's the workload of two.  And it's starting to cut into my drinking time, so something must be done LOL

Lori - did you win a pile of money at the Derby or what?  I've just scanned back a few pages....haven't read everything but I did notice "Lori" won a bundle.  Please don't spend too much on me... just a bottle of Henessy Privledge will do  ;-)

Junie - is it EVER going to stop raining?  Heard on the weather this morning this is our 18th consecutive day of rain!  WTF?

Nettie - you and Mark would get along great!  He collects scotch....or I should say he tries to collect it but the "collection" doesn't seem to stick around!  He is a huge fan of the Islay scotches, which as you know are very smokey and peaty.  I refer to them as "nasty scotch" then again I'm not a scotch drinker.  And his favorite beer is Guinness.  We are hoping to take a Scotland/Ireland trip before the end of the year.

Speaking of trips, Cozumel had the most awesome scuba!!!  I now see why it's a top scuba destination.  And due to the state dept traveling warning at the time about drug cartels (we went in Mar before the swine flu hit) our hotel was only at 25% capacity during spring break! We couldn't believe it!  Can't wait to go back!

I heard we have a new bartender?  My sister and I joked that we want to open a place along the same concept of Hooters (only with buff guys of course) and call it Woody's.  You know, like Woody Woodpecker Wink

Well, better get back to my "jobs"....Frown

Been nice chatting with you girls......

    Cheers,

    Donna

Huggssss, Donna--glad to see you chime in!!!  Glad your trip to Mexico was so great.   I love Cozumel, Isla Mujeras, Playa del Carmen, Tulum--even Cancun tourist strip--Bob has declared Jamaica to be his new fav place to go, but can bet we'll go back to Mexico, also!!!   Heading up toward STL in a couple days, but not near ChristineK--else, would be jingling her phone and camping on her doorstep!!!

and, rain, rain--go away!   Read today that this May is starting out to be the rainiest spring this area has ever seen in like 100 years...WTF!   What about last year???   Lord, if this is gonna be worse than last year, I've got to convince Bob to sell the boat and forget about lovely little jaunts around the lake!!!

While you're here, stop at the bar--we now have the most wonderful, attentive guys,,,Pants!  Jocks!  snap to it!!!

hugggssssss, CasinoGirl!      (ps--we went to Downstream casino.   Really nice--everyone lost their collective betting butts!!!!)

I'd like to order a large, dry, gin martini, on the rocks, wet but dry, if you know what I mean.  Three olives.  Make it a double.

Well well well......look what the wind blew in! Donna good to see you. You are working too hard and too much.....remember what I told you! As far as the money goes, I am clueless! Nothing passed through my hands, I'm not even a derby fan!

As for the rain, it is not raining here in AZ but business would be better for us if it did stop! It is not down, but I think it would be even better. We sell irrigation products for gardening.

Jocks, get that girl her double martini.....and don't forget the olives. Katalin, the guys are great at taking care of us!

Dee, hope you are feeling better.

Having my colonoscopy on Friday. Have to start laxatives today. Not looking forward to the prep drink on Thursday and only clear liquids. But hey, vodka and rum are clear right???

Well you ladies know where I will be........ladies room!

    Cheers
