    Mornin Ladies

Wow some newbies here so welcome and believe me no one will judge u here. That's why we get along so well.

As u can see Im back to work or I'd be here much more, I actually had 3 times starting apost but lost 2 and then couldn't find the 3rd and wasn't ready o submit and so I wasn't here. Oh u probably noticed that.

Lori u seem like lots going out, just keep the sizes ur mom can use and donate or get rid of the rest, I know u know that but I have to be a little bossy and I know this is hard on you. I'm glad u checked in tho, but I do hope seeing ur mom is easing ur mind and ur ok about where she is.

OK guys talking about all this medical stuff and cancer and meds all I hear is bla blah blah, not that it's boring but u know I have no clue about anything, but I do think Les had something new <for me> with rads cuz it was all to close to the heart and it had a name, but I don't member and I don't even know what meds I'm on except the opiods I do know Leslie on those menopause meds and she's more of a bitch than ever. I think that's why Joey went on vacation with Marty's family for the week, he figures maybe her body will get used to them by then, smart brat. But he did fix my phone so we can talk seeing each other.

Kim I knew u would come up with the drink they mentioned, I had no doubt, LOL And again our weather is crazy like ur's but it seems hot most of the time. Sandy ur closest to the lake so it might be better by u.

My sister and one of her DD''s <she has 4> was supposed to come over yesterday but she wasn't having a very good day. We've all said we make plans all the time but when we have to cancel we all understand so i felt bad missing her but it was better she didn't come. My girlfriend called yesterday, didn't know my new number and ended up calling Joey in S. Carolina, everyone has his number and I don't know why. Lol Joanne <my cousin. isn't doing so well this time, IDK what's going to happen but I know it's not good, I feel so helpless there's nothing I can do for her except we talk when she feels like it and yet whenever we talk she's so concerned about Leslie and me first, she's amazing. But she makes me laugh, she misses her gambling like crazy, ever since she got cancer she and her sister would go to the boat ALL THE TIME, it was like therapy and now she can't go anymore. Sometimes I wonder ???

I miss DARA and SUSYQ, I hope things are going OK, I keep up with Julie <our Disney whore> and Cindy on FB, she just always looks like she's happy and on the beach alot with so many people, fun.

OK that's all for now so....

    LUBS U WELL

Good Morning, Loungettes!Wow, looks like I never got on the computer yesterday, that's unusual for me! Did a lot of puttering around the house though. Going to have a heat pump installed a week from Monday. I found a local company with a good reputation who also gave the best estimate. It will even leave a little in the House Project fund to be a start toward the next project. I hope the savings in heating oil is going to be as much as predicted. Having some cooling in the summer will be a nice bonus. It only takes a few hours to install a heat pump, I was surprised to find that out. Now I have to choose my next project and start saving for it. Took Sadie out to see Mom and Dick, she had a very nice visit getting petted and spoiled by Dick. Not that he seemed to mind all that much!

Goldie--glad they moved your Mom. There's no point taking clothes that don't fit into the nursing home. Roommates can be interesting sometimes. Sounds like the whole house sale is going pretty well!Hugs.

Chi--Aha, special paper for scripts, that's a good idea. Hope you are having a fun and mostly pain free weekend!

Ingerp--some of my favorite wines are from Lodi! Wow, that looks like some potent stuff! What does it taste like?

Cammy--sorry your get together didn't work out. I bet its busy at work. Does Dan do heat pumps? Seems like they are awfully popular all of a sudden.

LOVE the soup of the day!!

    Countess Bunty Rothschild's DOTD:

    Alleluia recipe

    Alleluia

    Ingredients

Combine the tequila, blue curacao, maraschino liqueur, lemon juice and sugar in a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well and strain into a highball glass almost filled with ice cubes. Top with tonic water, garnish with a maraschino cherry and an orange slice, and serve.

Best served in a Highball Glass.

Oh I want that soup, and I wont even put crackers in it, o maybe a little salt.

Booms of thunder justwoke me up, like supersonic. Oh Sandy I wonder if ur getting this.

Well joey lost his phone in the ocean---Marty's sister bought all the kids a thing u wear around ur neck and his broke, But why would u wear it anyway wouldn't the phone get wet. Oh How silly to wear it at all. .

LOL I just got my coffee and I see I fell asleep writing this, I don't really remember starting it, oh chit I'll blame it on my drugs.

Now as far as I know I think lori is coming back this week, damn I hope its all right for her.

This is the first BD I haven't been with joey for his BD. and I talked to him last nite and he already sounded like he really wants to be home, I knew that would happen. And Leslie is now sorry he went, I knew that would happen. LOL See that's why I'm so bossy. It'll be a quiet day today I hope

I got in the mail yesterday a Roku streaming Stick+, I have no idea what that is, my boss ordered it for my TV, believe me I don't know what he's supposed to do with it, but he told me i'll be happy with it and it has a new remote, something else I have to learn. No one gets my brain power and it's not like it was at all. Everyone younger always says oh it's easy, well not much techy stuff is easy for me. I know the difference of how I learn stuff. U know when I first got my computer, never having one or using one---I set it up myself, no one helped me---now if something gets screwy i'm totally lost and my new smart phone too.It.'s like I just don't want to be bothered trying to learn anymore, but in order to work I have to.

    OK I'll be back later.

I'm not by the lake this weekend but rather in Morris for a folk festival and staying nearby at a friend's house in Minooka. Hoo boy, did it storm both mornings! Cleared up just before we played yesterday, warm & sunny the rest of the day. Rain let up about 30 minutes ago—we're on at 11 but under a big dry tent. Bummer is that it may rain again for my next workshop after that, the “Mountain Dulcimer Petting Zoo," where I'm supposed to display my 8 different kinds, explain and demo a little on each, and let the attendees have at 'em. But that workshop stage lost one of its canopies overnight (storm blew it into the creek), so I worry about having enough room to keep them (and people's butts) dry. We may have to cancel that one, in which case I'm free to head out to pick up my suitcase and head up to Wilmette for a couple of friends' farewell party (they're moving to SC).

No drinking because of all the driving I must do. Took a codeine for rehearsal Friday night and I slept a little too well to trust myself either performing or driving with it in my system. Plus, with the iron I have to take.....nah, not gonna go there...literally.

Waiting for my singing partner to get back down here from Madison and head to the tuning-up tent so we can be on stage at 11–so, since I'm sitting in the car typing on my phone, will only lurk the rest of the day

    HI again---

Ingerp I have never heard of that, but I'll bet Kim will find it and we can all see what that's all about.

Jeez Sandy what a weekend, plus this crazy weather isn't really on ur side. So I wish u luck, but I know ur performance will not suffer.Do u tape or video anything u can share with us, that would be great.

OK I've got to tell u all. remember Joey's phone was lost in the ocean-goodbye forever right. Well Marty's mother was sitting on the beach and this lady was pretty close sitting to her. And his mom said wow that phone looks just like my grandsons phone and she said OH my son just found this in the ocean bottom---Now Joey does have a cover and it and it ;s working. Oh come on what are the chances a complete stranger finds it and sit right next to the owner. Oh now we can talk and look at each other and I can text whenever I want. That helps me a ittle anyway. LOL

Good morning friends- busy week and busy weekend. It is hot here now, mid 90s every day, hot winds. No moisture in sight. Monsoons should be starting up in another few weeks. Fires out west are back and bad in some areas. Wish us luck!

I went to the ABQ Film and Music experience yesterday. Last year it was Jeff Bridges, this year actress Marisa Tomei was included in a guest panel on women's equality. Lots of good discussions around women in the work place, equal pay, etc. Photo attached and she was really dressed down and looked a lot like a local, but also rushed out to catch a plane. Smart move, dress in cognito to look like a regular person. I would not have recognized her had I not known she was supposed to be there. Photo attached.

Will write more shortly. In the throes of some deep cleaning today and taking a short break to get started with you fine ladies and my weekend post to you!

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Monday Monkey Day! Gearing up for another work week. Feeling kind of tired, thinking I need to rethink the 4 days a week thing and go back to 3 days a week. That will be this week's big decision to make. Sadie would just as soon I be home the extra day, I'm sure.

Cammy--I'm sorry Joey isn't happy being away for his birthday. The chick has got to grow up and try his wings eventually. I've got a thing similar to the Roku sitck, used it to replace cable a while back. I like it, but it can be confusing at times. But try it, you may like it!

Chi--I hope everything stays dry for you. Storms can really create issues, can't they?

Ingerp--Caraway flavor? Hmm, sounds interesting. Would love to try a taste some day.

Cammy--What a coincidence! But I'm with you, even with a waterproof cover WHY does one have to have it around their neck whilst swimming in the ocean????

Jazzy--sounds like a great week for you!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Twofer Tuesday! Mornings are still in the 40's.The tomatoes and cucumber are not doing well at all, even with the sun shine we've gotten over the last couple of days. The lettuce on the deck is very happy, though. Going to be a difficult gardening season, I think. The grass is very happy, it's as tall as Sadie in the dog yard. I have got to either get the riding mower working or buy or rent something to get in there and knock that stuff down with. Ah, the joys of home ownership!

Jazzy--have the Big Guy send some of that to Maine!

    Countess Bunty Roghtschild's DOTD:

    Ingredients

    1 ounce tequila

    1 ounce melon liqueur

    1/2 ounce triple sec

    Splash of orange juice

    Directions

    1. Fill a tumbler with ice.

    2. Pour ingredients over ice and stir well.

    3. Garnish with an orange slice.

Sorry I've been remiss in posting, but all weekend I was staying with a friend who had only Ethernet and a Windows PC--and I had only my wi-fi/non-cellular iPadPro. Tried tethering it to my cellphone, but it was "drinking up" data big-time. Then had catching up on errands to do yesterday & today. (Plus lots of icing & elevating).

Remainder of festival went quite well. Made a few fingering mistakes on guitar (pinky seized up on a couple of chords) and dulcimer (bone spur got in the way of a long thumb stretch on the baritone) but nobody noticed. (I'm my own harshest critic). The audience loved it, though--despite being too shy to sing along, they applauded robustly and laughed at all the right punch lines. It stayed pretty cool & intermittently misty the rest of the day. My "Dulcimer Petting Zoo" got moved to a larger & better-sheltered tent, and despite not being able to demonstrate my "menagerie" to its fullest extent, everyone was interested, asked questions and most importantly, tried out the dulcimers. One even brought her own unusual one to share. Was able to make my friends' farewell-to-Chicago party; and apropos of this thread, was handed a big glass of pinot grigio as soon as I sat down. My singing partner followed two hours behind, since his workshop was later.

Last night I had an Aperol spritz before dinner; tonight, sipping another as I type this. Might drink some Fleurie with the salmon I'm cooking.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Hump Day! I'm a little miffed with myself. I went to the main Hospice office yesterday, no visits on my tablet, neither of the 2 Clinical Managers who do scheduling remembered I was scheduled to work. I should have taken the couple of hours I sat there in full view, chatting with the CMs and others, and gone home. But no, one nurse was overloaded, so I took 3 visits in a town 65 miles away. I did limit it to 3 visits. So, hour and a half down, 3 visits, hour and half back home. I was so tired of being in the car by then I decided not to go vote, the first time I can remember ever deciding not to vote! And dragging my butt out of bed this morning. So, time to go back to 3 days a week, one at the main office, two in the second office. Tomorrow the guy is coming to clean the furnace and do its annual maintenance. Got home to no electricity yesterday peeyem, found out later a tree next to the local fire/town office building came down in the breeze and took the power line with it. Had power back in a couple of hours. Made for a great excuse to lounge on the back deck and sip a wine cooler! I had a bottle of red that was good, but I'm not on red wines, so I mixed with with soda water and little fruit juice and made a spritzer/cooler/sangria like mix that was pretty darn good! Sadie was happy to have me home early, she was all over me and trying to drink my concoction--she's learned that if she knocks the travel mug over some will spill out the sipping hole and she can get at it. She'd also pulled the toaster off the kitchen counter while I was gone, not sure what that was all about. Unless she thinks she's being ignored. Which she's not.

Chi--so glad the festival went well. So glad you got to show off your menagerie!

I am going on another trip with just my older sister this time. We lived in NJ for quite a few of our teen years and wanted to go back to the area and see how it has changed and old friends still around. It has been 40 years since we moved from there, I expect it will be a big change, but some of the things I want to see are still there and I am amazed. They had this place that had the best hot dogs and it is still there, I hope they taste the same. It was always a land mark in our area and we would meet up at " Hotdog Johnny's". My younger sister is 12 years younger so her memories are all Florida.

NM - Hope you are rested up. I can picture you and Sadie drinking on the back deck. lol The Lemon Spritzer sounds so refreshing for this Florida heat... and according to Jazzy - in New Mexico's heat too!

Chi- It sounds like so much fun going to one of your demonstrations. A great way to advertise your talents.

    Mornin' Ladies,

    Again I'm remiss.

Sandy I'm sure u sounded fabulous and if u did goof up a little no one noticed. Ur harder on urself than anyone could be. I'm glad ur weekend went so well, u put so much of urself into it, but u get so much back. Of course ur wine came to you, why not.

Misty how fun to go back to "the old neighborhood", it can be shocking either way. Memories are so fun when they are good ones and going with ur sister will be great. Have big time fun.

Jazzy I never would have known who that was she looks so different but it had to be nice to see her there. U do go to the most interesting places and do the most interesting tihings---to me that's guts, u take it in stride. Luv it.

Kim of course u'd wait around and get some jobs to do, u r just like that. U always want to help and will wait til u can. But u really went "out of ur way' but those people were lucky u went there. Oh maybe sadie wanted to hide ur toaster in er cubby hole but it was to big. She's a hoot. Glad u got some down time with her.

Like I said our phones at work are screwed up and who gets the load of it, me who has a hellofatime answering this new phone I have. GRRR I was writing messages every 2 mns., couldn't understand SOME people at all and I literally wrote my message as blah blah blah and dated it. So again I'm useless.

Well Joey went parasailing, I'm glad i didn't know til after, he had a ball he said and for him to spend his own money he must have really wanted to go. he's always saving money if something comes up, good thing cuz we didn't have any LOL he knows that.

Oh Kim I have no idea what this roku thing is, but if there is any confusion for u, imagine what it will be like for me, oy vey. I opened the box and just saw a couple of skinny things and a remote have no idea what it's supposed to do, I bet joey has no idea either which is another draw back for me and I still don't have my ear phone thing so taking my messages are horrible. U can't hold this phone with ur shoulder like the phones of old times. This new Techy stuff is really not for me. I know I could put it on speaker but everytime I touch it i disconnect people. One lady asked me how long I've been doing this yea right Im going to say over 5 yrs. no i said i just started this week, I knew she'd believe that.

Oh I did go out with my GF's a few days ago, from HS, it was great. I don't see them as often as I'd like but it's so easy to talk about everything like we used to. that's why we're still friends, all the feelings are still there and we do get together and to me they look the same and we all laugh the same over the same things.Joey told me they have great soups there, so that's what I had, and he was right.

I ope lori is doing OK, I think of her often.

Just a few words on the Roku--it's a device to put stuff on your TV (think Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, . . .). The newer ones have many free channels but you can also put your subscription channels on it. It needs an internet connection, and an HDMI cable from it to your TV. They're really pretty easy-peasy. Several of our recent airbnb's have not had satellite/cable but have had a bunch of Roku channels and in a way it works out even better, since everything is pretty much on demand.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Thirsty Thursday! The Wednesday, Women and Wine group met yesterday at a new place, a little spot tucked away in a corner of Bucksport that was absolutely amazing. Looks like a hole in the wall shop from outside, seating is in a hidden courtyard in back, just as cute and pretty as you could want. Not a big menu but very good food, not overly pricey, and Wine Down Wednesday glasses of wine are $5 each, except for the prosecco (Tiamo Italy, extra dry), which is what I had. The Bacon Swiss Dip was incredibly yummy. As a side line they make and sell lots of items made from used wine barrels. I am so going back there again sometime soon. Sadie is a little unhappy with me this ayem, she's shut in the bedroom while the furnace is getting it's annual cleaning and tune up.She's going to be unhappy on Monday, too, when the heat pump gets installed and she's stuck in there for 3 or 4 hours. She would so like to be out "helping" but her version of help is anything but helpful, not to mention she takes advantage and runs off to explore the neighborhoodthe minute I'm distracted.I'll take her for a ride later, that will get me back in her good graces.

Misty--It's always a bit odd going back to a childhood haunt. Changes are inevitable, yet somehow the flavor or ambiance often remains. Hotdog Johnny's sounds like a fun place, I hope that is still there! I think the Lemon Spritzer will be great on a hot day, too. I have Lemoncello, just need to get a bottle of Prosecco stashed away in the fridge and I'll be all set.

Cammy--I will help at work when I can, that is true. God stepped in this week, I'm not needed to work in either office tomorrow, so I get a 3 day weekend, which I really need right now. That gives me enough time to clean out the areas that need to be cleaned out for the heat pump install and still catch up on some rest. I simply do not have the stamina I used to. Getting used to new technology is hard sometimes, but keep at it, you will catch it! And you can keep telling people you just started, they won't know any different. I bet Joey does know about the Roku stick, just wait until you ask him. Glad you got out with your GFs, everyone needs some social time like that periodically.

Going to just jump in at the presence, altho I have read through.
My trip going and coming were not without incedents! We have a flight in town, an hour away that will take you to Phoenix for $80. Worth it after you figure in gas and paying for parking. I thought the plane left at 8:15. We were early, so went to Mickey D"s for breakfast, took it back to the airport and ate it. When done, I went up to the counter to check in, they said the plane already left. The time I saw was when it arrived in Phoenix. So DH and haul ass to Phoenix, and made it by the hair on my chinny chin chin.

While getting ready for the day at my brothers, I get out of the shower and the power goes out. and I still need to put make up on and do my hair! So I just let it air dry and threw it up in a clip.
On the way home, I left my credit card at a place where I got my sandwhich. Tried to retrieve it, but they had already turned it over to the police. I get to Phoenix, get my puddle jumper boarding pass, sit down to fix my socks as they have come down and are bunched up in my shoes. Well, I must have left my boarding pass there, as I don't have it just as they are boarding! Fortunately, they were able to print me one up real quick, and actually left about 10 minutes early. Plane only holds 8 people.

My mom is driving us bonkers. Several phone calls, I'm confused, not sure what I should be doing or where I should go. Another day, she called my brother saying there was a tray of food in front of her and she didn't know what to do with. Still repeating the same things over and over, also asking the same questions and when you turn it back on her, she knows the answers to what she is asking. She so needs to go to heaven!

Glad to be back home! Jazzy it was 107 in Phx yesterday and I had a long walk to get to another terminal. Might get rain this weekend, crossing my fingers it doesn't go around us, as it usually does. I liked the cartoon you posted about cooking NM. And look how cold it is at NM's.

Goldie--talk about exciting travel adventures! Isn't it amazing how quickly a piece of paper can disappear from our hands into the void?So sorry your Mom is driving you all crazy, it is so hard to deal with behavior like that. Keep reminding yourself that she is safe and well cared for, so she has time and energy to be seeking attention from you and your brother.

Teka--How did you get that photo?????? It is so rare to see the teeth of a no-see-um!I wish feeling the effect of the teeth was just as rare!

Good morning- I went to a summer wine tasting at a local restaurant last night that I love here in town. Last night was rose (my summer favorite) and enjoyed 6 different wines from countries including Spain, France, Italy, Argentina and two from the US (including one of ChiSandy's favorites, the sparkling rose from Gruet here in NM). I liked the Italian (second from left) and Argentinian (third from left) the best, and all were served with nice food parings including some delicious cheese, fruit, and grilled artichokes with goat cheese (so yum). They are doing these summer tasting on the patio through the summer, and talked to our host for the event last night and heard they are doing Italian wine evening sometime this summer. I hope to be able to go to that one next!

Photos of our wines and the lovely table. I across from a young couple who loves wine, yoga and international travel so we had much to talk about!

Oooh, Jazzy--a tasting with wine flights! The tastings (as opposed to winemaker dinners) Cellars does involve four tables with distributors offering five wines each. It requires a bit of planning to go over the list, get a plate of food, decide which wines you want to try in what order--which requires criscrossing the room several times and waiting in line at each table. Then decide which glasses to taste, spit & pour out vs. which one to take back to the table (assuming you've been able to stake out a seat) and which food with which to try it. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Tonight is one of the winemaker dinners--tour of Italy, with dishes chosen to match each wine from Butera Wines. (Pan-Italian--Tuscany, Alto Adige, Piemonte, southern provinces, Sicily, etc.). Gordy will be my dining companion tonight, as Bob is working late (even on Father's Day) to clear his calendar for next week's wedding of our godson (Gordy is best man) and at which I was supposed to play the processional--not gonna happen, as my wrist is not improving. (Dunno how I'll get through this Sat. eve. at Taste of Tippecanoe down in IN, except perhaps the silent mantra "they're paying us double union scale"). Leslie is getting her place ready for her folks, who are coming up from Houston (bringing their weather with them) tomorrow morning. I will take them to dinner on Father's Day.

I get another cortisone shot next Wed., and I hope the "flare" will have subsided and the anti-inflammatory effect kicks in by the time we have our two-set show at Two Way Street in Downers Grove on the 29th--been three years since we last played there and it, too, comes with a generous guarantee. Then almost all of July to recover--unless surgery is indicated before then, in which case I will back out of our Uncommon Ground show on 7/22 (Sun. eve , $10 cover--of which the house gets the first $75--split 3 ways. Oh, and there's a Cubs game down the street in the afternoon--which means tight parking from Cubs fans holding over and bar-hopping; and those fans are not fans of folk music and upscale casual dining). My singing partner is not crazy about driving down from Madison for maybe just gas money--I certainly wouldn't be taking my share, because the duo with which we're gig-sharing is on tour from NH and this is their full-time job.

    Mornin' Ladies.

WAIT---TEKA and KIM is that thing something real, it cant be r u gals kidding us???

Lori u have more craziness just getting around and taking a plane that holds 8 is like parachuting without a parachute. What an adventure just traveling. I'm sorry u had to go thru all u did, it's so sad. But at least ur mom is physically safe and not alone, that's the only comfort u have for now. And of course thanks again for thinking about me.

Inger <who I don;t think I know> thanks for poopin' in and telling me about the Roku thingy, maybe it won't be as hard as I think to use, cuz just thinking about it confuses me.

Sandy ur really going at it strong right now, but sounds like ur enjoying all the performances that ur a part of. Do u tape these <even for urself> oh I think I would.I'm glad u mentioned leslie cuz I wondered for a second what was happening. Is this the first time ur meeting her parents???<I forget> U have to tell us how everything went, as u know I'm nosy and like to hear about couples getting together.

Jazzy Luv the pics. and ALL the glasses---looks like fun for sure.

Kim I don't remember u ever going to wine tasting events, well u were always way t busy, but I didn't think that would interest you, but ur really getting around. And I'm so happy for u to take time out for just you, which u so richly deserve. And what can I say about sadie but LOL she always cracks me up.

Weatherwise were supposed to get super hot this weekend uhg BTW what day was it we had spring. Well that's how I feel Marty's working Saturdays now and overtime during the week and they are trying to plan a small trip to MI and staying at someone they know cabin---I have no desire to go <as usual>I really can't go anywhere or do anything so why bother, I'll just need more help away than here. But Im going to stay at Jodie's for the week but I have to put up with FF and remember he doesn't work, but he pretends he does, s I'm already hoping he gets lost during the day at least. And I can believe he works driving Uber. Actually Jodie and I get along really well so I look forward to be with her. Just not FF--but i can work there so i can be busy enough during the day and altho she has all kind of stairs i can stay in the family room which has it's own bedroom and full bathroom and shower, so it will actually be easier for me. So I can set up my work area very easy. Of course it will confuse FF using the word <work> area, but I know that won't make him think jeez even she's working. Oh well---Our neighbor will take care of Sox for us and that's good I can no longer do that, he's just way t big and can knock me down in a minute- not meaning to, just trying to go out.

LUBS U ALL and prayers to all

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy TGIF day!The second office didn't need me today, so I got to sleep in and already feel less wrung out. Still got up to a chilly ayem, but the sun is out and it's supposed to warm up to the 70's today, 80's tomorrow. I really hope tomorrow's temp predictions come true, a bunch of us lady friends are going to the coast to tour a garden and have a picnic lunch and generally visit with each other, get caught up (we're high school classmates) and gossip. Should be a pretty fun time. Sadie can't go with us this time, but we'll be planning another outing that will allow us to introduce our pets to each other sometime later.

Jazzy--That Rose of Melbac sound really interesting, how did that one taste, do you remember? Oh, they were all roses? Wouldn't I have liked to be there for that one! The Italian wine evening sounds like fun, too.Wine, Yoga and international travel, what a combo!

Chi--I can just imagine how many miles one walks during the four table tasting event! One good way to get steps on the counter. Praying your wrist holds up and gets better soon.

Hi all, I’m hear reading but not posting as much lately. I’m making a watermelon/vodka punch for a pool party tomorrow and I’m using the watermelon itself as the bowl with a feet/tap set. The tap was an impulse “how have I lived without this!” buy and I’m excited to finally use it. I’ll post pics tomorrow 😀

Oh, we are having the first rain free weekend since April, that is a good reason to sailabrate!! I just got my pool straightened out, the water turned green, had an algae issue. ugh!

NM, glad you got to sleep in today. You are still going and going and going, time for a long weekend Kim style. Don't work too hard. Glad you were able to make it to the woman and wine ting, I recall you missing that most months. woo hoo for you!

Jazzy, you sure live the good life girl, you are always doing something fun! I am in aw.

Cam, when does Joey come home? Glad he found his phone and that it works. Did i hear right? He lost it in the ocean and it was found? Woah!

Seems like yesterday.

K, that's all i have. It is now happy hour which means it is time to PARTAY! It feels like a holiday weekend here, not sure why but it does. Maybe because I have company during the day and not alone and lonely as in all week long. Still no job, I am beyond disgusted. Me and mese bff Jack Daniels will git me outta dis here funk, hear me? EF yeah!

I read on facebook that today marks 39 years since high school graduation, how can that be? Uh, had to get some paperwork together and gather medical records from my BC journey. I can't believe I started the wild ride 8 years ago. 6/1 was my DX date. Time is going toooooooo fast.

Hello to anyone I missed. Nothing else to report. I just read many pages and forget a lot of what I read.

NM- the Malbec rose from Argentina was good. I have not had a lot of wines from Argentina in general, few I like that I have, but did like this one. I think I already knew this, but I like the darker more robust roses.

Ill- I love watermelon juice and think I have had a watermelon (vodka) martini before. I would very much to be at your party with that delicious drink!

Well some good news here at the end of the week from the endocrinology group today. My six month check in was this afternoon with the CNP, and as my A1C is pretty low now, my hope was I could at least come off the Trulicity. That is the good now, will finish up my last box (1 month supply left) and then we will just be on metformin until things further reduce as my body adjusts to being off the AIs. She also said she does not feel I need to be seen further by the endocrinology group, my PCP should be able to manage any further adjustments on the metformin. Yay, one less drug and one less specialist to see. My hope is that I will be able to reduce to the 500 mg of metformin I was on to start before the AIs threw everything sky high. There are benefits to staying on a low does of metformin for the longer term. Another step in the recovery process and improvements coming through the five year mark. Yay!

Cami, doors open to the public at TWS at 7:30. Showtime is 8:15 pm. Two 45-min. sets on either side of a brief intermission (you're welcome to stay for both sets). Parking across the street at the library's lot. (Although there are a couple of HC spots in the church's lot--the coffeehouse is in the church basement--and seeing as how I no longer have a placard I won't be using one of 'em). Coffee/decaf/tea/cocoa/soda plus chips & cookies available.

No drinks today--had waaaay too much wine last night. But while I was listening this eve. to an hourlong continuing legal ed. video, I wished I had a big fat cocktail or glass of wine next to my computer--it was on "Tactical Uses of Opening Statements," delivered in dese-dem-dose Chicagoese by a personal injury lawyer. He very rarely referred to "the jury," "jurors," or "jury members:" instead, every few sentences he uttered the phrase "da ladies 'n' gen'men a' da jury." After five minutes I realized it would have made for a dandy drinking game...

2-1/2-hr. drive down to Lafayette, IN tomorrow for our set at Taste of Tippecanoe. Forecast high is 94, heat index of 100F. We have to load in at 5:30, drive to the nearest parking garage (blocks away) and be back at the stage by 6pm, an hour before showtime. Nowhere shady to wait. (It's not the main stage, so it might not even be covered). Thank goodness we have to play only an hour. Bottles of water are $2, for which one must buy tickets at various booths (and they don't sell single tickets). I'm packing a cooler bag with icepacks and my own water bottle(s). Oh, and it's in the Eastern time zone, so I'd better leave here by 1pm to account for the inevitable construction traffic detours around Gary.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Quick poop in this ayem, meeting some friends for a day of garden touring, picnicing and gossiping as we catch up with each other. Going to be a beautiful day today, Warm, sunny, low humidity, YEAH!! Sadie will be supervising the neighborhood while I'm gone.

Cammy--I hope it works out for you to get to see her show!

Illi--Can't wait to see the pics, sounds like a lot of fun to make a watermelon keg!

Dara--your pool has an algae problem?Ick!I hope it's not hard to fix. I am cutting back to 3 days a week of work over the next couple of weeks, things are slowing down at the main office--usual summer slump--so I can do that pretty easily right now. And making a priority of the Wednesday, Women and Wine group and other friends and get togethers. I can't believe you haven't found a new job yet, the economy must be really bad if no one is picking up someone as talented as you are. I'm with you, let's have a partay weekend!

Jazzy--It's fun to try wines from different places, isn't it? HOORAY for getting off the Trulicity and dropping one specialist! You must be very proud of the work you have done on that front. GOOD FOR YOU!!!

Chi--oh, my what a seminar to have to sit through! That would have made quite the drinking game. Sounds like the Taste of Tippecanoe requires some advance planning. Nothing like time zone changes to make things interesting.
