Well, I fell again yesterday in the hospital corridor—rubber sole of shoe stuck to terrazzo floor as I was walking, and down I went. Now my R arm is also out of commission, since I fractured the radial head (elbow). And I may also have broken the L scaphoid bone (palm, beneath thumb) and aggravated to TFCC tear. Let’s just say getting dressed and eating is a challenge—I’m a righty and can only use my (already injured) L hand to do anything but write. (Have to take R arm out of sling anyway every few hrs to move it but I can’t fully bend or extend it). Next Fri gig is obviously out, but have godson’s wedding this weekend. Bob will have to drive but refuses to drive my Outback because it’s “too unfamiliar” (same reason he won’t get overnight repairs on his own car because the loaners are “unfamiliar”). So we have to use his car, which can barely hold the three of us, much less luggage. Can’t share his garment bag because he smokes and it’ll stink up my clothes. Gordy is going up with us tomorrow because Leslie has to work, but will go back with her Sunday so I can’t share a suitcase with him either. We’re sharing a loft suite with our BFFs, the groom’s parents—it’s gonna be interesting (as in “May you live in interesting times”)

Jazzy, NM, Goldie and illimae (and all of you) I will let my welll meaning family exactly that, that I will always have scans, bloodwork, etc. as part of my life, and I will always let them know the results! I never thought of it that way (that it is now routine as opposed to looking for stuff), thanks everyone!! xoxoxo

I had a contrast brain scan as I was having (and still do) mild headaches, nothing terrible and there is nothing irregular - phew!!! I got a clean brain scan! My next bone and ct scans are mid July, hoping/praying for the same results then :)

NM - Thanks for the amazing recipes!

    Jazzy -Thanks for the music!

Wishing us all health and healing - cheers!!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy TGIF day! Well, the Clinical Managers got their act together and decided where I am going today, and they did sneak in one visit that is not in the one area, but since it's only a few miles from home I'll let it slide, this time. Disorganized is one way to describe the office functioning at the main office these days. And while I don't mind working half days, it does mean I have to work more days to get the hours I need to stay solvent. I made the mistake of telling them I was available today and not booked.Won't do that again unless I NEED another day of work! The main office had to cancel a meeting scheduled for this ayem because of 3 nurses calling out sick and 2 being on vacation and several admissions scheduled.Going to be a chaotic summer there. So glad that is no longer my circus, and I don't have to herd those monkeys!

Goldie--Your Mom is remembering the details about her caregivers cuz they repeat the info to her, several times a day. And wear name badges. The repeating and repeating stuff gets really wearing, I know. With the wanting everything "in reach" and stuff piling up everywhere, you Mom reminds me of a lot of people I've visited in nursing homes. Where the stuff goes is about all the control she has over things now, and once the staff learn where she likes things to be it's actually easier to take care of someone like that--before you leave the room check and make sure the things are in their right place, and when she does need something, everyone knows right where to look for it. What kind of critters do you have in your garden? I'm pretty lucky, no critters bothering my stuff right now. That may change as things keep coming up. I know there are rabbits in the area, and deer.

Teka--Happy Summer!Daylight is 1 minute shorter today than yesterday, the negative slide has begun!

Illi--can't wait to hear how the watermelon comes out!

    Jazzy--great group!

Chi--OUCH!Gotta watch out for those floors that reach up and grab your toes. Holy Moly, you really are banged up. And the wedding trip with all the ins and outs and details, very interesting, indeed! Either take lots of wine, or take some extra money for wine!

Janky--see, you come here for more than just the good likker and cute Tenders!HOORAY for the clean head scan.

Chi--Also HOORAY for the clean mammo!

    Mornin' Ladies.

First luv to hear good results from tests ladies, good for u. YYYAAAYYY

Janky, Jazzy and NM are so right. As time goes by less testing is done but there are still more than usual---all u have to say is something isn't right and ur being tested, plus the usual ones that we get anyway. And I know u really feel like if there is something to tell , u tell why get everyone going. Before I got busy with this job I was here all the time and it always and still does help, even when I'm not talking cancer, getting to know everyone I truly care about their lives and what they do and miss everyone when I don't get here I came for the drinks, now I stay for the company. LOL Except I don't drink, but I was drawn here somehow.

Sandy again, holy chit girl ur a mess right now. I told my GF a day we don't fall is a good day for us. Last week my sister fell once, my cousin 2x and one GF 1 time at a wake and knocked all the pics all over the place. But u really get hurt hurt. I'm sorry u have to cancel things tho, cuz u enjoy what u do so much. Bob is so funny not being familiar with ur car. LOL

I knew teka would poop in to give us a smile.

Jazzy great video, but I never heard of them and 3 grammys---wow. See u always have something new to show or tell us.

Lori I know how hard this is at times, but like u said she's safe now and u made sure of that. But I'm sure it still isn't easy on you, it's just sad especially when a parent was always independant, just changes everything. OK what critters are feasting on ur garden, do u know??? Cuz they always have some kind of stuff to help gardeners, well that's what I hear.

I'm sure u all know, but I just read an article about pot and altzhiemer <sp> anyway how it's helping the brain undo this damage, very interesting. They are finding more and more good things about this plant all the time. well they never asked us.

O Illi another partay, but this time u have to show us ur punch "bowl" sounds so fun So glad u do all this.

Kim for the most part u seem to have ur work scheduled pretty well cuz u've never done all these fun things before or got to spend so much time with Sadie. And u keep on keepin' on with great DOTDs every day.

Oh Lori I usually don''t mind these crazy calls, besides they really make some good money from them and dan takes such good care of me in so many ways. he bought and connected my roku the other day and in general always asks me what i need and just does it for me. And Bob calls me at nite to see how my day went and I do screw up and Bob always fixes it for me. If I wasn't doing this, I'd just be doing nothing cuz u all know how lazy I am. I really wasn't as bad when I worked but NOW holy chit there is no way I can do any less LOL

Have a good Friday TGIF for those who need this.

    LUBS U ALL

    I want a watermelon cocktail!

Sandy, I think we just need to bubble wrap you! Happy for your clean mammo.

Janky, so happy you got a clean scan of your noggin. Hooping the same for the next ones. Are you currently stage IV?

NM, during my visits with mom, no one told her their name when they entered the room, and she knows who they are. It's ok, I know she has problems and I can deal with them. I just wish God would take her. She has no quality of life, just lays in bed all day. Too lazy to get out of the room and go down to the activity room or room. Main critters in mese garden in the mice and rats, and an occasional squirrel or chipmunk. The squirrels can really do some damage. I have to remind myself, they were here first and in the high dessert here, there isn't much for them to eat. Same for the deer and rabbits, but they can't get in my garden.

Cami, I'm so happy you were drawn here to this thread. You are such a joy. I wish ED would come by more often. I guess if you don't mind the "middle of night" calls, then all is good. And I don't think you are lazy. I don't think my mom has ever been independent!

DH had to take our truck in, they said there was a bunch of sludge in the gas. He went to pick it up yesterday ($1800.00),got half way home and it started again. It would run, bog down and he would have to sit and wait, and go at it again. Little bit later, it would do the same thing. The dealer is an hour and a half from the house! So they gave him a dealers vehicle and now to wait again!

    Morning DahLinks!!

It is now officially summer. We were supposed to be 112F yest and about 110F today. WooWee, that's a lot of HOT. Went back on the thread and found that I haven't posted for over a month…MY BAD!!!

Still going every 3wks for chemo. The se's are getting harder and harder for me to get thru. But I kno it's only temp so I'm hanging in there. Not dangling over the wabbit hole right now tho, so that's good.

Been waiting to hear from the diagnostic group on scheduling my PET. Keep hitting brick walls dang-it. I just want to get this show on the road and plus I am still smoking (my bad again) and I want to kno the date approximation so I can give my lungs a rest for at least 30 days. I kno, I kno, why don't I just quit….cuz I don't WANT to right now.

Did get all 3 of our grandkids over 4 days on June 8. It was soooo f'in GR8. I've trying to send some pics from my phone to our email so I can post here. I'll keep trying.

Get my 7th chemo on July 3rd. Hope to have PET done by then.

Want you all to kno how blest I am to have you all to vent to. You are ALL the bestest.

Goldie- all that money and the car still has problems. Sigh......

    Cami- thinking about you sister.

I got through my yearly mammo and US next week. BS apt is not until later in July. This is my first time returning since I went to yearly after last year. Will let you know how it all works out!

My hand surgeon’s NP threatened to write an order for full-body bubble wrap.

Good news is much improved ROM in R arm, got surgeon’s ok to drive w/o codeine in my system, and even to take the sling off every now and then to regain more ROM. Good thing, too—because of widespread flooding en route we have to take my Outback, since the Fusion sits too low to the road. And Leslie just picked up Gordy & his buddy John, so that makes more room in my car. Now, to keep that pesky GFCI in the garage from tripping just long enough for us to get out and close the door to keep it from being broken into

I am sorry that you found out things had progressed before you were even too far in to treatment. But you are taking good care of yourself and you keep that going. Wishing you good outcomes on all your tests.

Lil Doity Butt, you must have felt me thinking of you yesterday. I am so happy to hear from you,but sorry the chemo is kicking butt. How much longer? Wishing you the best on the scans. Also glad that you are not dangling over that wabbit hole. So happy to hear you had the kids, but did it wear you out? As for the smoking, what's it gonna do…..give you cancer! Bahhhh Haaaaaa Haaaaaa!a

Jazzy, pretty sure your mammo and US will be clean too. Yeah, truck not fixed. No idea what they did do to it. It is old, 2000, but DH baby. Got a brand new one sitting up in town in our other warehouse, gets driven about twice a year! A $70,000.00 truck. How stupid is that??? Are you getting these triple digits of heat! I love summer, but this heat makes it impossible to do anything outside, unless done early in the morning.

Janky, I'm sorry, none of us want to be in that group. Bad enough to get it at all, right? You sure didn't have long in between diagnosis's. Are you in treatment? Let me by you a drink……….TENDERS, get this girl whatever she wants and make it quick! Weren't you the one talking about triple digit heat? Where do you live?

Well, I got that pesky critter! Came in the house yesterday to turn the cooler on. You have to crack open a door or window. So I went to open the patio door in our bedroom, and there he goes, under the boardwalk (don't know what else to call it). Mr. Squirrel! And let me tell you, they can do a lot of damage in a small amount of time. So I set my live trap, right at the escape hole and put pavers on the sides, so when he returned, he had no where to go except for in the trap. Take that SUCKER! You are NOT welcome to my veggies.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Saturday! Meeting Mom and Dick for bean hole beans for suppah tonight. Puttering around the house the rest of today, with the focus on laundry as it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Silly Sadie thinks I haven't noticed, but she's curled up in my recliner--where she is not supposed to be--and is snoozing and watching me get caught up on e-mails and such. 2 more weeks of working 4 days a week, then a 3 day week teaching for Kaplan. The second office is down staff, one of the nurses had to go home sick yesterday, ended up having an appendectomy in the afternoon! So she won't be back for a bit. On the garden front, it looks like the tomatoes are coming back, but the cucumbers are gone. I'm looking for a rose bush to put in the round garden, then will surround it with spring bulbs, but I'm having trouble finding just what I want, which is not a hybrid but an old-fashioned bush rose, like Mom had in the front of the house I grew up. Not fancy flowers but bloomed all summer and smelled soooooo good. It gets bigger over time, too. Anyway, that's the current garden project.

Cammy--I think I've got the work thing figured out, now I just have to make sure I don't start falling for sob stories that aren't real. The main office is busy, but I did hear that at least 3 full time nurses didn't have full days many days last week, so there's plenty of staff there. I'm going to concentrate on the second office, they really do need the help right now. AND they appreciate me, and say so!

Goldie--your Mom is in such a hard place. I wish there were ways to make people get out of their rooms and try activities, or at least eating in the dining room, but there isn't one. She can be as happy as she can be, even if there is no real quality to life in her situation. Mice and rats in the garden, YUCK! I know how to keep rabbits and deer out, but squirrels and chipmunks are impossible to keep out, and the same must be for mice and rats. Except for electrified fences that go underground as well as over the top of the garden, not very practical. Crazy stuff with the truck. How did the sludge get in there? Is it from the gas itself or is something getting in there that shouldn't?

Mema--WOW, that is a LOT of hot! Make sure you are drinking enough fluids! Glad to hear you are not visiting the rabbit hole, not so happy to hear about the chemo side effects. 4 days with all the grandkids, what a blast that must have been!

Jazzy--praying for a good first yearly exam results.

Chi--Glad the ROM is coming back, and for the ok to drive. Sounds like flooding is a real problem for you right now.

    Janky--so not fair.

Goldie--Hooray for catching that pesky squirrel! They are VERY destructive critters! What did you do with him once you caught him??

Oh my goodness, I haven't watched the HTL video for months!I still have it bookmarked, though. What fun to revisit!

    Countess Bunty Rothschild's DOTD:

    Saturday Slammer

    Ingredients

    1 oz. Pineapple Rum

    1 oz. Strawberry Rum

    1 oz. Coconut Rum

    .5 oz Blue Curacao

    1 oz. Orange Juice

    1 oz. Pineapple Juice

    .5 oz Grenadine

    Cherry for garnish

    Method

Pour the three Rums and the two juices into an ice filled cocktail shaker. Cover, shake well, and strain into a Collins (or Highball) glass half filled with ice. Slowly pour the Grenadine down the inside of the glass, and slowly float the Blue Curacao on top. Add a Cherry for garnish, slip in a straw, and enjoy your Saturday Slammer.

    Morning DahLinks!!

Well finally got a call from my Humana Care advocate. She made a few calls to find out about the delay in PET approval. I should hear from the diagnostic group by Tues of next week.

Lowee - LOL u cwaack me up. Hoping this next chemo run on July 3 is the last. A lot will depend on the PET results.

Sorry to hear about the damage the critters are doing to your beautiful garden…I git mad jes reading bout it. Hope the trap got that 'sucker'.

I keep praying for u and ur mom….such a tough situation. But I too am glad she is in a safe place.

NM - U fightin the critters too….o what a pain. Glad u are continuing to speak up when it comes to ur work schedule…u go girl!!

Cami - Yes, it was a 'blast' having my gks. They are really maturing into very bright and savvy people.

A question for all of u. Has anyone been plagued with very painful leg/foot, waist, back spasms? If so, what tx do u use to calm them. They are soooo bad for me that I JUMP outta bed and scream and then my DH races in to check on me. Hate waking him in the middle of the night. I am still drinking the diet tonic for the quinine but it's not enuf. I supplement by wrapping my lower leg in a heating-pad. Both 'help' but not enuf.

Jazz, Chi and Janky - thinking of and praying for all of you.

DD coming to pick me up this afternoon. Her paternal gma just turned 89 and we are going to take her to dinner at Olive Garden tonight. I will stay the nite w/Jen and then son Mike will bring me back home Sunday. I can't drive that distance w/out my feet spasms making it very difficult. Oy vey!

Gotta run…need to go refill my MMJ meds. Hoping ya'll have a GR8 weekend…

NM, sorry about the cukes. I have nothing yet in the garden to pick, except herbs. Mr Squirrel got a ride on the quad. And the ravens got a nice lunch/dinner! The mice and rats are easier to control and thank goodness I might only get a couple squirrels a year. The sludge could just be years and years driving on the dirt road. Enjoy your bean suppah! I love beans, could you maybe capture a pic for us to see?

LDB, those spasms sound horrible! Have you mentioned to your doctor? Enjoy your din din and the time with your DD/SIL and then your son. Is he still dating that same gal?

Good morning friends- it is still HOT here in the southwest (and yes, Goldie, we were pushing 100 yesterday, think it hit a high of 98). The weather people still say monsoons will be better than average this year and the dew point is coming up (how they know they are ramping up), and hope we get more rain soon. We got a big soaker last weekend from the left over hurricane that came up this way. Usually the hottest days (about now) come before the rains. Bring on the summer rains, I say!

I woke up this morning inspired to do some cooking and have made a batch of something called calibicitas which is made with corn, squash, and onion. I added added some green chili flakes too, came out delish. Picture below. Got more cooking to do today. Trying to get more fruit and veggies in my diet after visits to the farmers market and health food store this week. I have some fresh cherries from the farmers market and trying to decide what to do with those. My thought is to put half in a fruit salad and to make some cherry pecan scones.

Just wanted to say hi and more tomorrow. I am heading out to music tonight with friends.

Fortunately, the flooding didn’t detour us and we made it here at 4pm. Lunch was Scotch eggs & prosecco. At last night’s rehearsal dinner, had a forgettable but drinkable Cabernet. Lovely weather today. Hotel is chock full of Deadheads—“Dead & Co.” (no Garcia, of course) were at Wrigley Field Thurs. night and are at nearby Alpine Valley (ski area with natural amphitheater) this weekend. Tie-dye everywhere. There are shuttles for them—don’t want to imagine a bunch of stoned drivers on the road after dark. But the parking lots here were so full that passes were necessary and we had to give a staffer at the entrance our names to make sure we were entitled to park here.

Wedding is outdoors at the Horticultural Center—78 and sunny right now

OhMyGoodness - DH and I are watching our 3 year old grandson while his parents are 'heating up' Las Vegas (or maybe getting heated up from LV ?! ;) I had forgotten how down to the bone weary young kids are, he is awesome and sweet, but busy and active - phew, Grammy is tired and grateful that he is now asleep for the night :):)

Mema - I have been getting terrible feet and calf spasms, and the only thing that seems to work is massage (by me) and the heating pad. Seems to help a bit, but only temporary...thank you for the prayers,

goldie - thanks for the bevvy, going down nicely ;) I started with Letrozole July 1 as soon as my 30 rads were done, shot of zometa in September, then started Ibrance February 2018 (just finished cycle 4) and xgeva shot every 3 months. I had ct and bone scans end of April that showed no new mets, phew! and I go for more scans mid July. If they come back showing no progression I plan to book a 4-5 week holiday to Australia in mid October...

Jazzy - thank you, I am going to try that calibicita recipe, looks yummy!

NM - I'm thinking to make the Saturday Slammer a Sunday Slammer :)

cami - I love your 'way with words' - often hilarious!

illimae - love your 'melons' ;)

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone, here's to health, happiness and healing - Cheers!

Mema, you might want to have electrolyte levels tested (would be part of the “complete metabolic panel,” aka chem panel). Often muscle spasms can be caused by potassium, sodium or magnesium deficiency (especially when sweating in hot weather). If your levels are normal, ask about an anti-spasmodic like Baclofen, or perhaps something for nerve pain like gabapentin or pregabalin if the pain is from a nerve root irritation.

The wedding was lovely. It was hot (82) and sunny, but the garden was a beautiful setting. Gordy gave a terrific “best man” speech poking fun at “best man speeches.” Drank Mark West Pinot Noir (though there was also Spotted Cow IPA on draft—it’s brewed in a suburb of Madison). The groom’s uncle came down from Nova Scotia—he is a retired Mountie, and dressed in full regalia (including hat) introduced the bride & groom at the reception. Andy, the groom, is our godson and Gordy’s BFF—they have known each other all their lives (well, save for the 8 days Andy waited for Gordy to be born).

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Sunday Funday! Gray and gloomy this ayem, but got some rain overnight and the next wave of rain should hold off until overnight. Comfortable temps, so I'm not totally unhappy. I did pick up some cherry tomato seedlings to replace the lost cucumber seedlings, going to get them put in the garden today. Got some Romaine Lettuce that needs to be cut today, so will have that for putting in sandwiches I'm going to make for lunches this week. Looks like I'll get a chance to try out the dehumidification function of the heat pump today, since it feels pretty sticky this morning. Such fun to have a new toy to play with!

Mema--Finally!What was the hold up with the PET approval, anyway? Did she say? It's about time you got an answer. I'm trying to stay really careful with boundaries and such at work. I keep reminding myself that I am important and it's OK to enjoy life, as well as to work. I don't get the muscle spasms, but if the quinine water helps, try asking one of your docs for a prescription strength pill and see if more works better. I hear the MMJ meds help with that kind of thing.Maybe a lotion to rub on the legs at bedtime?Hope you are having a good weekend, too.

Goldie--The cukes were an afterthought, I had room and found a 4 pack of seedlings on sale, so they really aren't a big loss. There was one stretch of a few days that I should have been watering the garden and didn't, cuz soaking rain was predicted for every evening. You'd think I'd know better after all these years, wouldn't you? But I came across some nice cherry tomato seedlings, also on sale, that I'm going to put in today and pay more attention to. I didn't think to get a pic of the bean suppah, will try to remember to do that next time, which will probably be next Saturday.

Jazzy--that calibicitas looks marvelous! Cherry pecan scones sounds so very yummy. Hope you had a great night out with the friends.

Chi--what a collection of people there must be there! Glad you have parking and good weather for the wedding.

Illi--oh my goodness, what a creation! That kit comes with everything, even the feet!Where did you find it?? That would be great fun for any summer get together, with or without the vodka!

Janky--a month long vacay in Australia, what a once in a lifetime trip that will be!Wish I could tag along. Feel free to rename, edit, or in any way tweak the DOTDs to your liking!

Chi--aw, the wedding sounds like a wonderful, magical time. I can just picture the Mounty in full reglia, and see the smiles for the best man speech. I take it Andy has to be just ahead of Gordy in everything, since that's how they started out? Those are the best kinds of friends.

    How to Make It

Jazzy, how was your calibicitas. Quite an interesting combo!

Illona, how did the watermelon punch go over? What was in it? Great idea with the frozen melon balls, so as not to water it down.

LDB and Janky, I have read that alternating heat and cold can help with those spasms. About all I could find on it. And like Janky said, the massaging.

Janky, praying very hard that you get to make that trip, how awesome. Why would you not go if the scans aren't as good as you would like? Ibrance will be the next treatment for me. How are you tolerating it? Enjoy your grammy time, but sorry it's wearing on you. Cami is a funny out ne for sure, as well as Chevy, but she doesn't come around much.

Sandy, was there shade to sit under at the wedding? I can't hardly stand the sun and heat anymore.

NM, I wish I could grow lettuce in the summer, but too hot. Glad I can at least grow it in the winter. I quit growing the cherry tomatoes, as it seems we just go for the regular ones anyways. Plus with canning, I can use the space for a larger mater. I think I can wait until next weekend for the bean suppah pic. Is it always the same?

Still no break in the heat here, but that is no surprise. Keeping a close eye on my garden, traps and for tomato worms.

Good morning friends- I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I had a marvelous time with the music last night. There were sixteen male musicians (some vocal, some instrumental, some I personally know, some new to me) and what a show. Everything from rock, to jazz, blues and more. I met up with multiple friends and ran in to more friends. One of my friends wanted to dance (her husband did not) so we wan to shake our booties on the dance floor. The last vocalist was seranading me from the front stage at one point, lol. It was a great nice. I just had one glass of sangria as it was super hot (in the 90s until after I got home) so it was more about hydration last night that anything else. I have more music events this week. Now that my feet are feeling better off the AIs, dancing is more fun again!

Today is going to be some home things, going to make those cherry scones this morning before it gets too hot and hoping to pick up my second bike from a tune up at the shop this past week. I am trying to get in to more riding but of course, one has to go every early or super late in this heat.

Goldie- the calabicitis is came out really good. I am going to have a birthday BBQ with some friends next weekend and one of the people is very challenging when it comes to food (vegan, gluten and lactose intolerant too). So that recipe I made that is just veggies and olive oil should work (and they said yes please). There are all kind of variations on that dish, some think of it being similar to sukkotash which was popular where I grew up back east, but hated that because I HATE lima beans. I love most veggies, but that is still one to this day I won't eat. Squash and corn together is very good and think the dish has roots here to the Native cooking as corn and squash are two things you can grow in the SW as you know.

And speaking of that, I was sorry to hear things are eating your plants and veggies. I think with the heat, everything is looking for moisture. I have seen birds and squirrels eating some of my plants and flowers and keep both bird baths filled up but the squirrels are another story.....

Chi- the wedding sounded like a wonderful time. Your godson and Gordy's BFF. I hope the travel went okay and that you were able to enjoy everything despite the recent injury. Do you have any big international trips coming up?

Ill- well that watermelon with good stuff in it looked mighty tasty. How did things come out? I love a good watermelon martini, there is a place in Santa Fe that does them really well. I hope you are staying cool in Houston this summer?

Janky- I was thinking the same thing that Chi said about the electrolytes. I have always had issues with cramps in my legs off and on since I was a child, and learned sometimes it is a potassium deficiency. Maybe add some potassium rich fruits and veggies to your diet to see if that helps? Bananas are super good for that, but spinach and other veggies too. Also, I think you may be in a warmer climate like some of us and with the heat this year, dehydration causes cramping too, especially when you are active. I keep a big container of either water or ice tea in the fridge with lemons so it is handy for me to just pour from to keep hydrated in the heat.

Cami- thinking of you friend and bet you are busy with broken AC units. Is it hot there? I heard the east coast was having hot weather, maybe you too? Have you been to stay with Jodie and FF yet or is that coming up?

Mema- I hope you can get the remaining tests you need approved so you can get more info on the next steps for your care.

I had a dental apt last week and they have been watching a couple areas between my back molars and going to take care of a couple baby fillings tomorrow morning. Then onward to the mammo and US. Thanks to everyone for your good wishes and prayers. Will let you know how it all goes.

Blessings to all of you for a good last week of June!

    Mornin Ladies,

SusyQ its good to read u. O spasms can be o painful. All I know <cuz we all know I never know much> is when my cousin got chemo she did really well except for horrible spasms in her back and legs and that was the only time. She got it every 3 weeks and the spasms came like clockwork during the 2nd week. Not that that helps u, it just came to my head. I think of u often and ur always in my prayers as so many are now.

Oh Kim I really thought u said cakes, instead of cukes at first and I wanted to absolutely know how I could grow that like now. I type goofy as I read. Just like I was making out my grocery list and wrote this rice chicken thing down not knowing it was pet food. And yes I actually have a job, of course it's family, but has to be.

Lori u got lots and lots of pests on ur grounds, but all in all u seem to be winning. Well I hope so cuz I always like to see pics of all u I know it's hard work but u must love it cuz u do so well. BTW that's lots of money for anything that's not fixed yet. And it's so far for u2 to get anywhere for almost everything, so it's like ur always driving.

Ill I'm glad u did put a pic. of ur imbibement concocktion <here I go again Lori> I didn't think of it set up like that. Good way to have fun. And nice thinking of the melon balls.

Janky I'm truly sorry for ur DX sometimes right when u think the worst is over they hit u again and things don;t stop, but again ur attitude is great, as is Lori's and that goes a long long way in this thing. ick And it's great to make plans, u have something to look forward to.

Jazzy I had no idea what that pic. was, but with my expertise of foods I still didn;t know, I'm glad u let us know...but I never heard of that, <I did recognize the corn tho> And now it really sounds good. Bet it was.

Oh I slept most of the day and nite yesterday waking up long enough to have a cup of coffee, I don't think the coffee worked, it usually doesn't. I did schedule 3 people for today thinking it was Monday cuz I thought I was sleeping thru Sunday, ao when the 3rd person said thank you for getting someone out for Sunday I did tell her to take her thank u back cuz I made a mistake, then called the other 2 back and rescheduled for Monday and we were so booked I had to think fast, yea another of my gifts, somehow I worked it out.

Glad tests came out good for u gals.

    LUBS U ALL

Wedding weekend was wonderful—the only things I couldn’t do were swim (nobody did, anyway) and play the processional—but the oboist’s BIL stepped in and did a fine job on guitar. Only setback I had was our garage door wouldn’t open on our arrival home—but then I remembered the GFCI had to be reset. To get in through the side door I had to open the garden gate—and pulling it open was a bee-yotch. But I didn’t re-injure anything. Bob’s being a dear and bringing all the bags in. I will fire up the Nespresso and make us a couple of capppucinos.

Tomorrow night Gordy & I will see Roger Daltrey doing “Tommy” with the CSO at Ravinia. Not sure if he bought pavilion seats or we’ll just be lawn-groundlings. If the latter, we’ll put some charcuterie & bubbly into our rolling thermal tote. Either way, we’ll take commuter rail, which lets out closer to the gates than does the parking lot.

ChiSandy- oh how cool about Roger Daltry and Tommy. I remember seeing the movie in the 1975, will love to hear about how that was? Have fun!

IMHO, the movie was cringeworthy--the Who were great in it, but thanks to Ken Russell's acid-addled vison it was nonetheless a trainwreck. (Hard to believe it was the same director responsible for Women in Love). The Broadway show (and its first road company), was wonderful--touching while still rocking the rafters. (The barebones 10th anniversary tour--no band, just recorded music; no scenery save for a network of white pipes resembling monkey bars; no costumes except for black T-shirts, pants, and matching headset mics that made the cast look like Miami dance club bouncers--was like a low-budget community college production). I saw all three iterations, and the original Broadway cast (starring Michael Cerveris) was the best by far--it brough to life child, female and older characters for whom the Who had required us to suspend our disblief. Gordy was 10 when we saw it in NYC--with Townsend standing incognito in the back of the house (oh, if only Gordy had known back then). He asked me "Mom, did these guys record anything else?" Come here, grasshopper...

We've twice seen Quadrophenia in concert (when Entwistle was still alive) and heard a recording of the L.A. concert production of Tommy (sometime in the mid-2000s). Won't be the same without Townsend, though. And I hope the notorious Chicagoland pollen & mold counts don't play havoc with Daltrey's severe asthma--though the stage and pavilion are covered, Ravinia is still an outdoor venue.
