Morning DahhhhLinKs

Just pooping in for a bit. Was down for a couple days since last tx (last Tues). Am feeling much better this week. Am glad that MO changed my schedule from every 3 weeks to 4 weeks. My new foobs are healing nicely. Will see the PS in April.

Have been riding my recumbent bike…up to 20mins now…woohoo. Boy do I feel it 2 days later. Also using very lite weights for my arms…can't believe how out of shape I am.

I'll be sending BIG HUGZ and lots of LUBS to you all. Please take care of yourselves.

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy Hump Day!Last day of class for this session, should be pretty interesting as the students get the final paperwork they need to register to take the licensing exam from the school, and I give them time to do the online part of that cuz they're going to be doing that anyway, might as well roll with it, right? I'll also let them out early. They've been working hard and deserve a break. Sadie is not impressed with the below zero temp or the wind that is still blowing, boy is that wind bitter!I stopped to get gas on the way home and thought my ears would freeze off! Heard from a friend at the old Hospice job, a new office Director has been named and it's an outside person.I think that is a good idea, someone to come in and see some of the dynamics that's going on for the craziness it is and maybe put a stop to it. My friend has been out on leave due to neck and back pain from the poor ergonomics and stress, went back to work for 1 day and is back out again, and is reporting Clinical Manager #4 for bullying and unprofessional behavior. I feel badly for the staff working there, but listening to the drama at one remove is actually kind of fun. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Cammy--Just because that card was behind the counter doesn't mean it couldn't have been seen and the numbers gotten. Many times the people doing that kind of thing are the people working behind the counter of the store. It's easy to get time mixed up after having surgery. I remember struggling to keep track of the days after my recon surgery. It's a good thing my Mom was keeping track of my appointments, cuz I wouldn't have been able to! I sometimes wonder why people call business at such late or early hours. Do people really thing everyone works 24/7 now? I hope you get out to the baby shower, it sounds like a lot of fun!

    Yummy Mai Tai!

Goldie--If your Mom went into a diabetic coma she would simply fall asleep and then slip into the coma. It's a peaceful way to go.WOW, that is quite the website you have set up!

Mema--Good to see you! It will take time to get back into shape, but you are doing it!Good for you!

    Mornin' Ladies,

SusyQ I love to see u poop in and u sound like ur really getting in good shape. That's hard work, but ur doing it.

Lori so very impressive how u really described ur home, land and operation of ur business. I like how u said no cures for cancer please, or something like that. U quickly eliminated ideas from eat 4 tomatoes a day to rub cider vinegar all over, cuz that would be some that u would get. If someone is interested u would really get their attention. Exceptionally written.

Kim good thing ur out of there. And they hired from the outside. That place sounds like it should be on a reality program, with all that drama. U have to love ur new job especially now.Is Sadie getting used to the hours now. Well soon we will change the clocks and it will be light later so it's better to come home to. <Well I think that>

LOL I'm watching All in the Family now about Edith going into menopause and he finally tells her u've got 30 seconds to change so do it now. That still cracks me up.

Joey was in a concert last night and as I say he looks like he should be playing football, but instead he's got this thin clarinet in his hands, but it is starting to sound like a real concert instead of a bunch of kids making all kinds of noise. He always feels so good after, which is nice that he still enjoys it.

Well I hope u all have a good day today.

    LUBS U ALL

Kim, I almost can't believe CM #4 is even still there. She must hate her job, or she hates people, or maybe she just doesn't like her own dern self! As for the weather, what a cray cray one and all accross the country. Won't be long and Sadie can play in the mud. I can only pray that my mom not eating will send her sugar low enough to put her to sleep. It has gotten pretty low, in the 30's, but if she gets plenty of sweets, it can spike up over 200. The website is almost done, still have a few more things to ad and then find places to advertise. If you go to the photo/video gallery you can see where I live.

Cami, thanks for the kudos on the website. And no matter what Joey does, it's good. I can't see him as a football player, he is too kind and soft, and I don't mean that in a mean or bad way. He is such a kind soul, and so sensitive. That boy has had to live through alot, bless his heart.

As for the cocktails, we don't care what's in them, lets just drink!!!

Still not sure if we will make it to Moab or not. Been in the mid thirties at night and close to 60 in the late afternoon, so the snow is melting, just depends how muddy it is. We may take a quad ride out later today to examine the sitchiation.

    Happy Hump Day

Good morning friends- checking in to say hi! Working from home today as I had to vote myself off the island for the day. More BS at work around a project they asked me to get involved with and should have said no to. I think I got kicked off by someone who does not want me there, but fine with that too. I chose to just not be there on site today (a benefit of being a consultant) and the main thing they brought me in to do is going to be wrapping up in a few weeks, so I think it's time to wrap this gig up and move on. Like NM, dealing with a lot of drama with poor management, and it works against smart, savvy women who are wanting to do their best work in a fair work environment. NM found a great new job, Jazzy is working on her next juicy contract!

We have a taste of spring going on this week. Temps up in the 60s. Friday is the first day of March, daylight savings coming soon, then the official start of spring! I saw some fat buds on the fruit trees this weekend and going to check on my walk today to see if anything is out yet. Despite the wintry weather, we seem to be on schedule with our blooms and think it will be a pretty spring after all the moisture!

Hope everyone is having a good hump day!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Thirsty Thursday! Last day of class went well yesterday, which means I got in all the info I needed to before they got their paperwork to submit for testing and I lost their attention entirely. They were a good group, and I think they will all do really well. Sadie was glad to have me home early, except that sat down to rest my feet for a minute and promptly fell asleep! Ah, well, the nap felt really good and I woke up with Sadie lying on the ottoman on my feet.

Cammy--Sadie and I are adjusting to the new hours pretty well, I think. I think I'm getting home earlier than Sadie expects still, though, cuz I don't hear her start barking for me until I close the garage door, usually she's barking when when I get out of the car to open the garage door, so I think I'm waking her up from a nap when I open the garage door. But that's a good thing, to my mind! Time change coming right up, yuck, I'm just getting adjusted to things the way they are now, and the sun is just starting to come up when I have to get up and I'll be going back to getting up in the dark. Double Yuck. Ah, well, such is life, right?Sounds like Joey is pretty good with clarinet! And it's so good that he enjoys playing in concerts. Good for him!

Love the Mai Tai so much it's a repeat!

Goldie--I'm withyou about CM#4. I'm hoping for the sake of the people who are still there that the new Director sees her for the manipulative little b*#@$ she is and gets rid of her. Time will tell, I guess. The weather is nuts everywhere, time to get Mother Nature back on her antidepressant, or hormone replacement or something! The pics and vids of your place are gorgeous! I almost wish I was in the market for a home and business!

Jazzy--Nothing like BS at work to make going to work a chore. Glad you have the option to vote yourself off the island and work from home. And it sounds like it's a good thing that project is winding up and sounds like the next contract is coming together for you! Yeah! Time for changes!

My kitty-kat pic didn't copy right.

U gals must type like the wind, If I had to leave dor a job I could never be here in the morning. Kim I'm especially glad to hear how great ur job is going and BTW I'm a mess at doing the DOTD LOL I don't know how u gals find such interesting drinks, I look forever and come up with chit, but I enjoy looking.

Lori I'm with Kim if I was looking for a place like yours I'd be there in a minute. Especially since over the years I've seen so much. It's beautiful where u are. <<<PRAYERS>>> for ur mom Lori. And I so agree with u about SusyQ, she's a marvel.

Oh I just got a call and to save the customer the overcharge for non regular hours I told her if she can wait and extra 2 hrs, it would be cheaper. She was happy, but I thought I'm ruining his business,

Jazzy u need to explain things about whats going on better to me about ur job.

My sister and I are going to see my cousin today basically to say good-by I hate this so much. But we feel like we cant wait any longer. Xanax here I come. My pain meds aren't enough for this.

Going in for the MO apt tomorrow (third reschedule time is a charm) and Prolia shot. Will let you know how that all goes. I have been trying to get this done since end of January.

Jazzy, got a little chuckle at you getting voted off the island! You and NM are sure in similar boats, except hers has sailed! Hoping yours sails soon as well. Our temps have been nice here too. Almost all of the snow is gone, got a little bit of a breeze, sun shining, all of this will help dry out the roads so we can get out of here in the morning.

NM, you must have needed that nap and it also allowed Sadie to finish up hers! Good deal getting out early and today and tomorrow you are with patients?

Cami, don't feel bad about telling that gal she would save money if she waited a bit. She might not have wanted to spend the xtra for after hours and you would have lost the sale all together. I had a older man call me yesterday and just wanted to order an item that was $1.29, told him I would just send to him, no charge! Not worth the aggravation of creating an order for him. I hope your cousin is aware of you and your sisters presence. Stay strong. I know the feeling, as it's hard for me to see my mom like this and she has been like this for over a year now.

Quiet in the lounge, is everyone hunkered down. Thank you NM and Cami for your kind words re the website.

Goldie- all clients have their dysfunction, drama and politics. As a consultant, I am there to do the work. A couple weeks ago, I got asked to work on a new project for them and sort of reluctantly said yes. One of the senior leaders came to me the same day and pretty much told me not enough money for me to be on the project. I can see this is her pet project and she does not want anyone else touching it except her. And that is fine with me, but they should have figured this out before they got me on the phone with the client.

That is why I voted myself off the island, and today going to work to extract myself from this riddick project situation all together. We call this "drama management."

So despite my protests, my PCP visit included a CMP (complete metabolic panel), which does test for glucose. But I got the results of everything back yesterday: though a1c is up to 6, my doc says that's likely due to the statin (and the letrozole). My glucose? Back down to 97! Total cholesterol is only 201, with HDL of 84. If I were just on the statin and not letrozole, the total would be even lower; but w/o the statin it's been as high as 300. And my H&H/ferritin/iron binding capacity are all well w/in normal limits--so in all caps my doc messaged me "STOP IRON." My colon is devoutly grateful for that. (I already weigh 3 lbs. less than I did on Mon., when--to put it sorta delicately--I was literally "full of..."). Lungs clear, heart fine. He says it's up to me whether to stay on the baby aspirin, CoQ10 and Mega-Red: I don't need them but they won't hurt me. However, he says that 10 yrs. hence I'll need all three.

Staying in tonight--Bob & I don't want a big meal (and I had a huge almond croissant around 5pm), and don't feel like walking to Cellars. I might nuke some chicken wings or dim sum later. Still not hungry at 8:30pm.

Last night, since I made Pacific salmon, I had 2 oz. of that Bogle Pinot Noir (courtesy of my Coravin). My doc says that normally he'd recommend a daily glass of red; but since because my BC was ER+ I need to limit my wine intake to 15 oz./week, he'd rather I had a 2-oz. glass daily or five 3-oz. glasses/wk instead of three 5-oz. glasses. (Of course, he's from the Sonoma valley).

Sandy, Congrats on the A1C and glucose numbers, very nice.

NM/Jazzy, sometimes I really miss the work drama but I still have a few coworkers that text me “you’re not gonna believe this $@&!”, so I still get to enjoy some of the BS.

Hi Cami, Mema, Janky and everyone 😀

Speaking of work, Gordy is settling into his new job doing online (live chat) & phone customer support and occasional ad copy for VividSeats.com. The bummer is that he will have to give up performing for awhile unless it's on a Monday or Tues. night, as his hours are 3pm-midnight every day except Tues. & Wed. He could have taken a more conventional schedule, but it'd have been $3/hr less. He gets health insurance (a PPO instead of his current closed-panel HMO) and a 401(k), and a week of paid vacation after 6 mos. (He also gets an employee discount for event tickets). His office is in the Loop, a block from the CTA Brown Line (to which he currently transfers from the Red Line near his apt., but on a nice day just takes the Red all the way and walks 5 blocks). He & Leslie would have had precious little time together (other than weekend brunch) because of her high school teaching job; but she, too is switching jobs to a full-time position with the tutoring company for which she currently moonlights. She'll be paid as much as her current job & side gig combined, but she can work from home and make her own hours. They are also looking for a 2-BR together--has to be near transit for him and have a covered parking space for her.

    Tonight's DOTD is cherry Bubly.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy TGIF Day! I'm tired dragging myself out of bed this ayem, but not as bad as last week, seems I'm adjusting. Sadie is too, she nudged me this ayem when I didn't get out of bed as soon as the alarm went off, she has been waiting for me to get up before she moves. I did end up working a little later than planned yesterday, the fire alarm went off just as I was getting ready to leave. Not a planned fire drill, turns out a water pipe broke somewhere. The fire alarm is very loud and makes many people nervous to listen to, especially the people with dementia. So I sat in the dementia unit TV room with several of the residents and kept them company until the alarm was turned off. Still got home at a decent time. I don't mind this kind of thing, cuz it's truly the exception and not the rule. Even Sadie wasn't too put out with my being late!

Cammy--you do just fine with the DOTD--it's the looking for one that's fun! I don't think letting a customer know that she will save an extra fee by waiting a couple of hours is going to ruin Dan's business! People remember kindnesses like that and that is what brings them back to the same company when they need future services, and repeat business is what keeps businesses running. Hugs as you go visit your cousin.

    YUMMY DOTD!

    YUMMIEER WORKMAN!

Jazzy--Have a good day, don't let them wear you down!

Goldie--yup, yesterday and today I am back in the nursing home. I've got a whole bunch of ideas in my head that I can't wait to get started on!

Jazzy--Gotta love when people/management change their mind about a project. Hope you can get free of that mess soon. Love the "drama management" term.

Chi--Gotta love that the doc is from Sonoma Valley and has the wine calculations all worked out!

Illi--I've got a couple of people doing the "you're not going to believe what just happened" thing with me, so I am following the drama at the Hospice office, only now it's entertaining instead of frustrating!

Chi--sounds like things are coming together for Gordy and Leslie! That is so good to hear.

Yesterday mornin my sister and I talked about seeing my cousin and honestly we dreaded going, just cuz . In true fashion my cousin always thought of everyone else's feelings so it would be our good-byes So she passed away first thing in the morning. And I cancelled getting my hair dyed and she again would have said r u stupid just get it done, so I did. It really hasn't hit my sister and me fully we talked to alot of family and kind of just went about our day. But as soon as we spoke together our crying started, so we would just hang up. Leslie was crying every time I looked at her. Leslie adored Joanne. she was her godmother and never let Les for get it. Of course I won't stand up and talk about her. What would I say??? Everytime we went to a restaurant we LOL so hard we pee, anytime we went somewhere "serious" we LOL so hard we'd pee. When we took some adult classes we'd LOL so hard we peed and were asked not to come back and we payed for them, when we were stopped by police <a couple of times> we LOL so hard we'd pee, when we worked together we'd LOL so hard we'd pee and go to the bathroom and change our clothes <something we would have> we'd come back in with different clothes. Thankfully this was so much of our life together, it was wonderful and we were together all the time. Not everyone understood our humor so I'm not saying a word. Diane <her sister> shared all of this with us, And she's gone too so all in all we laughed so much all of our lives why would we want to change anything. As my sister said there were 4 of us, now there are 2 and my sister never had the peeing problem so we'd get mad at her. There was never a cross word between any of us So I tole u gals what I would say, but this won't be repeated, sorry I burdened u with this.

    Everyone have a blest day.

Cami, of course I didn't know your cousin but from what you shared, I know she would be happy to know how your shared about the laughter between you, in all situations. That is a mighty fine eulogy. I think she'd be glad to know that reading about your adventures together would bring smiles to others. I smiled, for sure. I'm also sad for your loss but glad you have those memories.

    Hello all,

Cami - I join the chorus of laughter and tears. Your cousin must have been a card and wonderful to be around. It is great to have those memories. I hope it brings you joy to share them with others.

I was able to have the second chemo infusion of round threetoday. My creatinine count is down to 1.1 even with all the daily water drinking. Guess the chemo is messing with my kidneys. Another result of all the water is now my potassium is too low. I will get pills to bring that back up. Guess I cannot eat enough bananas. And I put a whole one in my smoothies! Oh well! At least I am still on track for the PET scan this month.

Was able to go to lunch with a couple of young men I hired at the library. I encouraged both boys to get their Masters in Library Science. They have gone on to good careers and even better lives filled with happiness. It is very fulfilling to have mentored these guys and have them thank me for it. For me, it makes those years of working more worthwhile to know I was able to help others find their careers.

Hope all have a great weekend. More rain here, but no flooding or huge snowdrifts to worry about. I will have wine tonight to celebrate chemo and my fun week. Take care!

greetings to all if you from ‘somewhat rainy nights in Georgia ‘😬 dh and I arrived safely Wednesday 8 pm to st Simon s island Georgia and are enjoying the much warmer temps here! We’ve been to the beach twice for fresh air and exercise (and yummy draft beer) then out for a yummy seafood platter this evening. My mom is doing quite well, her dementia seems to have slowed down, so it is lovely having her ‘back’💕. Dad is really fine too, repeats stories and forgets things, but honestly seems more aware than me!

I miss you all, and will be back to visit off and on over the next 3 weeks... hugs to everyone- Cheers

Good morning friends- waking up to a cloudy day and some rain coming. It is warm here, mid 60s and will get out to do some yard work before some rain comes later. My sister in CA says the pineapple express is coming up from the south Pacific now and so the temps and moisture is less snow right now. Two snow storms last week that were good for snow pack and water supply. I saw some green things popping up out of the ground this week and going to do a bit of early yard work to begin the spring clean up process before the rain comes. Yard work and tax prep finalization for my accountant this weekend.

I finally got to the MO apt yesterday and saw his CNP as with all the reschedules, the best I can do to get seen at all this time. I like her though and we had a good visit. All is well, blood work looks good, etc. The only thing off was my BP, pretty high yesterday, but I am not surprised after the stressful week at work. I got my Prolia shot and sometimes can feel a bit achy from that for a day but usually it starts by the second day (tomorrow), and then goes quickly. I have been off the AI drugs a full year now, just passed my six year cancer free and feel very grateful. Thank you all for being on this path into wellness with me.

I got some short term resolution on the situation that happened on Tuesday between Thursday in to Friday at the client site. The management asked me to help with some work the next few weeks on the new assignment until this other guy is back in the office to take over. After the episode this week and seeing my BP so high yesterday. I am going to create a plan this week to finish up some things and go by end of the month. I heard my project work on what I was brought in to do has been been talked up all the way to the CEO level so if I finish up soon, I can leave on a good note. As NM likes to say, not my circus and not my monkeys.

What is everybody else doing this fine first weekend of March?

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Saturday! Got some laundry out on the line and another load in the wash, supposed to snow tomorrow so trying to get all the laundry done today. It has that "Snow is coming" smell outside today, but the weather guessers aren't sure how much to predict yet or exactly when. At least it won't last terribly long now. The new job is going well, I think I'm beginning to catch on to how the boss thinks and exactly what she wants, and am going to take a little time this weekend to get a draft of a skills checklist ready for her to review Monday. I am choosing to spend some time this weekend doing this.I'm hosting a CPR class Wednesday evening, so my hours will need to shift a bit for that, but that's ok. I'm hoping to be far enough along with the skills checklist thing to be able to do some competency verification with the evening/night shift folks. I'm starting to get to know some of the residents by name, and feeling like I've got a handle on the general routine of the place. Yesterday I kept thinking I should be more acclimated, and had to keep reminding myself that it was only day 7, and only my second week! Sadie has definitely adjusted to the new work schedule, we had to have a discussion about weekends and sleeping in!

    Cammy--I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are going to miss your cousin so much.It's good you can think about the fun times where you LOL'ed so hard you peed! {{{{{hugs}}}}}

Librarian--glad you could get round 2 of chemo. Sorry about the potassium pills, I know those are HUGE horse pills! Oranges, honeydews, prunes, raisins, spinach, broccoli, potatoes, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, peas, cucumbers, zucchini, eggplant, pumpkins, green leafy foods, tuna, halibut, cot, trout, rockfish, lima beans, pinto beans, kidney beans, soybeans, lentils all have high potassium. Sounds like your lunch with your protégés was a nice interlude.Sounds like you did good work with them!

Janky--hooray for safe travels and a warmer climate! And that your folds are doing well.
