Well Jazzy, did ya get some snow? I think all said and done we got about 18". Funny about the guy spending 50% of the time talking about himself.
JCS, funny how such things get us excited, like getting chemo! I know, you just want this to be done, can't blame ya. I did work during chemo, but we own our own business, so did not have to worry about getting all bixed up for work if I didn't want to. We work from home.
Janky, hopefully you are on the mend.
Sandy, thank you for the info, I will pass it on to my brothers. Wow, had no idea about those gift cards. People just can not be honest anymore, such a shame.
Cami, that is so not right about your gift card...scumbags! And I don't see whey Les can't call and get in at where your at. Have her call Monday, if she hasn't already. Hope you get your hair did today.
Half of our snow is already melted! What a muddy mess it's going to be. Snow falling off the roof of the house, has snow piled up 3-4', Oy Vey!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Saturday! Sadie and I had a lovely sleep in, but I'm thinking that may have been a not so good idea. The ol' body is aching and creaking big time this ayem!I knew I would have some aches and pain going from a very sedentary lifestyle to one that included lots of walking around a good sized facility and moving a lot more than usual. That's going to be very good for me. I'll need to do some stretches and maybe a little yoga today. Along with some housework and getting class ready for next week. Then Thursday and Friday back to the nursing home, shadow some of the staff, and then get a plan in place to start getting competency evaluations done. And I've got some other plans percolating in my mind, and I'm so excited to be doing this work now!
Cammy--this is going to be a great job. I am already so happy there, and I've barely gotten settled. They even had a birthday party for me yesterday!Actually, they havea birthday party every month for any residents and staff that have birthdays in that month, with cupcakes, ice cream, and some music. It was a great way to meet some of the residents. Not to mention that I like cup cakes!
LOL at the dancing teddy!
Goldie--the repositioning usually goes from one side for 2 hours to the other side for 2 hours to on the back for 2 hours, then start over again, so the wedge wouldn't be under her during the time she's on her back. Ask to see the turning/repositioning records, you and your brother both should have the right to see your Mom's records. It could take a little time to find someone who can print off the report, but you should be able to get that info the same day you ask for it. The record will show if she was repositioned, or if she refused to be repositioned, but it should show that someone checked on her position at least every couple of hours. This includes the overnight hours, although I would not be upset if the turning was every 3 hours or so at night if she is sleeping. Being woken up every 2 hours at night is a real pain in the anatomy. And no equipment or part of any equipment (except wheels) that touches a person should ever touch the floor. That's a major infection control issue. Getting up to a foot of snow, what a surprise! Sounds like next week's temps will take care of it for you, though.
Jazzy--Sorry things at work are cranky making. Glad Management was out from underfoot for a while. The whole telemedicine approach is really taking off, and just about in time, too! Small rural hospitals, even ones that are part of larger groups, are stopping services (primarily labor and delivery, but others as well), closing entirely, or declaring bankruptcy. In Maine that leaves a lot of people with drives of 4 hours or more to get to a hospital or clinic or anything bigger than a doctor's office. I now when teaching that giving a little bio can establish credibility, but a half hour of every job you've done?NUTS! Glad you got to catch up with a colleague, that's always fun. I figure it will take a while to get back into the routine of full time. This week I've been going to bed earlier than usual, and that has helped. I've also learned that I do need to plan for an evening meal--the breakfast and then very late lunch pattern isn't going to work now that I can get nicely balanced meals at 12:30 for $3. By the time I get home from work I'm getting pretty hungry again, so I need to do some meal planning so I don't fall into the trap of eating junk food in the evening. Between better eating habits and more movement I hope I'll lose a bit of weight.
Librarian--Hooray for improved numbers and getting the full treatment done! One more down. It amazes me that some people can work through chemo, and I think they are the minority, but more power to them! If you need to not work, I think it's best not to work during chemo, just for the infection risk of being in contact with so many people.
Janky--I bet that southern sun will energize you right up! Be sure to get some calcium while you are in the sun so your body can make all kinds of vit D and build up you bones, too!
Chi--Yup. Sadie has very refined food tastes! Fortunately, she like what I like so it's easy to share. Sounds like you saw quite a show with Joe Jackson! You must have enjoyed it immensely.
Morning, Cammy--I hope Leslie can change medical care teams entirely (except the wound doc, I think she is happy with that one?). Something is not right with the MO not seeing her at all. Sadie and I are looking forward to a quiet weekend to gear up for class next week, then back to the nursing home Thursday and Friday.
Pretty DOTD!Thanks, Cammy!
Goldie--working from home is way different from going out to work, especially during bc treatment! Working from home is much safer! Your snow is melting fast. That can be good or bad, depending on the total amount and the runoff patterns.Any flooding in your area?

Good morning ladies! Waking up to a sunny but crisp morning after our latest storm. It came in with a fury late yesterday and was snowing before dusk but not much accumulate down here in the valley. Further north and the mountains probably got FEET! I am heading out to a morning hair cut apt then some errands and then home to lots to do around here. I hope to get a walk in later today too, as it warms up.
Yesterday was national margarita day. Okay, fess up, who had one?
Chi- oh I would like to see Joe Jackson but the closest he will be is TX. Sounds like the concert was awesome. I am going to get to see one of my favorite jazz vocalists, Lindsey Webster, this August and there are some other really great musicians coming here this year. I am thrilled to say Renee Fleming is going to be at the Santa Fe Opera this summer, and will be there for sure. There is also a jazz festival I found in Denver when go there in May to visit my friend. We love our music
Cami- we do have a lot of spas and springs out west. It used to be that spas were considered something the rich and famous did. I started going to them in the 1990s when I lived back east, but they were down along the coast of CT near NYC. Out here, they are more of a lifestyle for sure.
I am going to check out these hot springs when I go to Denver this May too!
http://www.indianhotsprings.com/
Goldie- AZ got a lot of snow, 42 inches in Flagstaff alone? I heard there was snow out in LA and have to ask my sister if they had any in Orange County. Crazy weather, but the moisture is needed too?
Gotta get on the road and will check in later with more of you.....

Morning everyone, from frosty, snowy Alberta.
cami - I love your 'cats', they are so adorable and bring me a smile whenever you post one of your pics You ar right, this takes time to feel better, even though I am thinking I am healed, nope says my body!!
goldie - I am on the mend, just tired so am taking it easy till we leave on Wednesday.
Jazzy - I did not know New Mexico has lots of hot springs - the things I learn from all of you! I missed out on National Margherita Day - darn, may have to make up for it today!
NM - tell me about calcium - I tried taking it as a supplement but it makes me vomit or nauseous, no matter when I took it, so I am trying to just drink milk, ice cream, yogurt etc daily. Any suggestions cause I am not sure that I am getting enough daily through diet I found a slow cooker was my supper saver as I could prepare it in the evening or on Sunday, get a couple of meals organized, then into crockpot before leaving in the ayem, coming home to nice smells and supper!!
chi - what's on your drink menu this weekend? We are flying through Chicago enroute to JAX, hopefully the winds cooperate!
Enjoy the weekend everyone - rest, relax and rejuvenate! Cheers!

Janky did u try the gummy vitamin C's, IDK u all know that but Kim will tell u.
Lori I never heard of that much snow in AZ in my whole life...WTF meltin or not that's lots.
Kim I'm so happy u have the job u were really waiting for dor a long time now. Oh u'll get used to it and like I said knowing u it'll be easyto get it down pat. No down any particular Pat jus pat.
Oh u guys don't u member I told u I worked for the first part of my chemo, before my boobless part...I had Chemo every week then on Monday which was my day off anyway,, then went to work but by the end of the week if was rough.LOL Now when my dr. finally found out what I did she said ahe never would have let me work. She thought I worked in a little cubicle, didn't know I worked at the DMV where iI counted all the cash and dealt with so many people hahaha she said it was a hotbed of germs why didn't I tell her. Well she didn't ask what I did. But it was always getting my hats or scarves to match and my big earrings to match cuz I thought noone would notice I'm bald, I was so stupid, I actually thought I could get away with it. But I never worked the year and 1/2 after with chemo, then I wimped out and never went back. LOL I had to remind u just so u know I wasn't always wimpy and complaining like I do now. Now I work from home mostly in my bathrobe and no earrings, even when the guys come over.
LUBS U ALL

Cami- wimpy and complaining are never the words that come to my mind when I think of you, actually just the opposite!
Janky- I am in FL and it is in the 80's here, I am dreading the hot, humid summer I think we will be having. But, I am thankful I am not in all of that snow, I could do it for a while, but I have been here in the south since I was 15.
NM - I am so glad that your new job seems like it was made for you. I am glad that you will share your knowledge and expertise with so many people.
JCS - I worked through chemo, I did not have to deal with public and my co-workers were great and the girl I worked closest with really helped me a lot.
Chi- I would have loved listening to the music.
Jazzy- I am so jealous of the hot springs that you go to. One day- I plan on going to one.
Goldie - so hard to see someone once so full of life in such poor shape now. I hope your mom is doing better, and getting better care.
I got a case of wine delivered to me. Apparently, my husband must have signed up for something - I am sure he was unaware that he did it, he didn't drink wine. I saw money was deducted from my bank, but I would forget to call during the day, the company called me to tell me they were waiting for me/my husband to tell them what wine we wanted. I just told them that a variety would be good and I canceled the membership. The wine delivered was one bottle short. I guess the packer wanted one??lol I didn't call or anything, I hope who ever took it had a lovely evening.

cami - Itis the calcium, not the vitamin C, supplement that gievs me a problem
misty - ha ha - I look forward to the heat and humidity, though I do get why you don't, we lived there for 2 years and hubby really, really did not like it (I did)

Janky- some CA Supplements can bother my stomach too. I have found these chocolate chewables are easier on the stomach. I get mine at Whole Food but they are also found at places like Walmart, on line at Amazon, etc.

Chi - this sounds like it could be doable so I will try it, ty

There are various types of calcium supplements--some are easier to tolerate than others, and depending on one's other meds, more bioavailable than others. The most common kind is calcium carbonate: Tums, Caltrate, Os-Cal, Viactiv chews, gummies and so on. I can't absorb that kind of calcium because I take a PPI (Dexilant) to keep my GERD at bay, so I take calcium citrate (Citracal Petites or store-brand version) instead.
Cami, the card didn't have to be tampered with physically--most of those out on counters or hanging by cash registers are vulnerable to people who write down the numbers (or even just photograph them) and wait for the right time to use them. Discounted cards always raise a red flag for me.
My DOTD tonight is Bogle 2012 Pinot Noir.
0 -
Chi - you got me - what is a 'Bogle" ?
0 -
Bogle is the vineyard that grew and the winery that made the Pinot Noir.

NM, those aches and pains have to be good ones! Thursday/Friday back to the nursing home. I assume that's with the new position and not at hospice? Mom sleeps so much, I doubt she would even know that they were turning her at night. I asked her if they were, and she said "I think so". $3.00 for a meal? You should grab one for dinner too. Working from home during treatment is most def. different than going out. Not sure how I would have handled that. Working from home, I can come and go as I please, work out in the office or in the house, take a nap if need be, etc. I was lucky for sure. The snow run off will run on any hills, but for the most part will soak into the ground, which is good. But the ground is so hard, it takes awhile, in fact probably more evaporates than soaks into the ground.
Jazzy YES, Flagstaff got lots of snow as well as many other areas. I mean it snowed in Tucson! Whats going on in CO in May? The pool looks funny with green water.
Janky, I sure hope you are feeling better come Wednesday. I don't remember if you have family in FL or if it's a vacation. My brother just got back yesterday from a week in Cancun, he had gotten sick a day before I did, and mid week there I talked to him and he was still sick!
Cami, don't make me come over there. You were not and have never been stupid. So you just stop it, right now. Ya hear???
Misty, we get hot but we don't have that humidity, not sure I could deal with that and the heat! As for my mom, she will not get any better, but hopefully getting better care. Funny your DH order wine and didn't know it. My mom in the past had ordered some things that automatically sent monthly. I had to call several of them to cancel. But sorry you were missing a bottle. I would call and complain, but perhaps you just don't want to deal with it. He wanted you to celebrate him!
NM and Sandy, thank you again for taking the time out to lend some advice for my mom. Half of the snow is already melted, and nice cool 4 degrees this morning. I've been working on a website to sell our home and business. Once it's done, I'll share the link here. Hoping to get at least a million. Can't wait to head to Moab this Friday.

Good morning ladies- got to my apt yesterday and lots of snow up in the foothill near the mountains. Got my hair coiffed, some groceries from Trader Joe's and more. By noon, most of the snow in the valley was gone but lots of white on the Sandia's and out to the west on the mesa. I got out for a brisk walk end of the day and saw a few signs of growth. Some green things along the bike trail and the fruit trees will bloom soon.
Chi- I love Bogle wines. Their petite syrah is one of my fav of that varietal. I will have to try their pinot noir. I have been enjoying some french rose this weekend.
Goldie- I am going to visit a bestie who moved from here back to Denver last summer. She had been there 30 years ago, and her kids and grandson live there and she has been wanting to return and the door finally opened for her to go back last spring. She still owns a house here, but now that the job is more settled, she is preparing to get the house on the market to sell this spring. She is down here periodically, but not always able to connect when she is here. She asked me this past weekend if I wanted to come up to visit now, and when I could come, so I found a good deal on a flight the weekend before Memorial Day. I sometimes drive up there, but won't have the time this spring with worky things. So we agreed on it that weekend, got my flight booked, and will do a long weekend type thing like I did in San Diego last month. My next planned escape from NM.
NM- sounds like you are off to a grand start at the new job! Bravo!
Cami (& Chi)- thanks for sharing about the gift card thing. In general, I get gift cards by cashing in credit card points and also directly in stores where they are not next to the register. Makes complete sense people are finding ways to steal the numbers on the ones for sale. What a bummer and hope you get your gift card thing worked out. Nice bit of cash you could have used for many things. ARRGH!
Going to brunch today to hang with some fellow IT healthcare types. I won't imbib with any brunchy drinks as I will swim later today.
Happy funday Sunday

It's Sunday, peaceful, spiritual, healing and family - I have always loved Sundays!! It is so strange how questions get answered - above Jazzy mentioned supplements from Whole Foods, which made me wonder what the name of the store in Sarasota is where one can finds decent prices on many items, in her next post she mentions Trader Joe's and that is the one I was thinking of!! BTW I am getting my hair coiffed on Tuesday, just before heading to the airport...hopefully some magic can be dusted over my frizzy hair.
Misty - I have always loved the heat and humidity in Florida, though it is a bit overwhelming in those summer months! I am counting down the days, we will be in Georgia for the first few days, then Florida next Tuesday!!
Cami - My parents and 1 sister live in Brunswick/St. Simon's Island GA, so we see them first, then off to Sarasota, Florida where I have a SIL & BIL, sister and son, DIL and 2 wonderful grandkids - our oldest ones. So it is a holiday, but filled with family too! And as I am still so tired I do hope I stay healthy and well!
NM - Enjoy this next week, lots more learning, but challenges are always good! (or so says someone )! Hugs to Sadie!
I am off to do my packing, then heading in to visit with the 3 grandkids, have a Sunday Family meal, then home to REST!! Have a great day and week... Cheers!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Sunday Funday! Going to be a bit of lazy day today, just need to finish packing up my stuff for class tomorrow and pick out an outfit to wear. The snow started an hour or so after Sadie and I got up. Less than 6 inches predicted, so barely noticeable, and it's supposed to warm up enough to melt off a lot tomorrow. As pretty as the snow is, I am really ready for spring. Sadie is ready for mud season, even though it means she gets lots of baths!
Jazzy--I can't believe I missed national Margarita Day! That hot spring spa looks so inviting! I bet you will love it.
Janky--calcium is important for bone strength, as you already know. But it needs Vitamin D to be used effectively by the body. Calcium supplements come in several different forms, each has its followers and detractors, not much actual scientific research to recommend one form over another. Most women who eat any kind of dairy get enough calcium from their diet. For anyone wanting to supplement their calcium intake the very easiest (and pretty much least expensive) way to go is with calcium carbonate, the active ingredient in TUMS. Buy generic regular strength 500 TUMS, and eat one or two a day. Extra Strength, Ultra Strength, and sugar free versions are not necessary. Calcium Carbonate as an antacid comes in many flavors, and people can have upset stomachs with certain flavors, but that is rather uncommon with the regular strength tablets, more of an issue with the "chewy" versions. The artificial sweeteners in the sugar free version can cause diarrhea in some people who are sensitive to those chemicals. Recommended daily allowance for Calcium for women 51 and older is 1,200 mg daily. 2 regular strength TUMS is 1,000 mg. Taking more than 500mg of calcium at one time is not recommended, it doesn't absorb and is likely to cause gas, nausea, constipation, so start with one tablet a day, then after a week or so add the second one in at a different time of day.Hard cheeses have around 300 mg calcium per ounce, soft cheeses around 50mg per ounce. One cup of yogurt has about 250 mg calcium, Greek yogurt less than non-Greek yogurt. One cup of milk has around 300 mg.
Cammy--I will get used to the new work schedule quickly enough, I already am starting to adapt and feel better with doing more moving around than before! I can't believe you worked with the public like that during chemo, how did younot get sick every week????? I can imagine the earrings and scarves you wore. It can be nice and comfy to work in your robe and nightgown, can't it? And when have you ever complained? I've never heard you complain!
Misty--it must have interesting to get a mystery package of wine delivered! Did you get any good wines? Funny about the missing bottle, though.
Chi--I used to drink Pinot Noir pretty regularly. Right now my current fav is a rose of Pinot Noir!
Goldie- yes, the aches and pains are good ones, the kind I can ease with a hot shower (really missing the hot tub I had years ago) or a hot pack and maybe some tylenol. And yes, Thursday and Friday will be back at the nursing home at the new job. Mon-Wed is the test prep teaching job. Not doing any hospice right now, and at the end of this month or the end of next month I won't be able to work for Hospice anyway because I won't have the mandatory quarterly education done. Grabbing a $3 meal for dinner won't work, the $3 meal deal is for on-duty staff. The meal is served on a tray just like the ones served to the residents--in fact, Ican choose the regular meal or the alternate, just like the residents. I have to go to the kitchen to pick it up rather than having it delivered to me, but that's hardly a problem. Good luck with selling the home and business!
Jazzy--I think the new job is starting well, and hope it stays that way for a long time to come!

Woke up this a.m. to a weird "clack-clack" sound coming from the attic. Went up there to find the 50+mph wind gusts had broken a side window that already had a crack in it, which in turn we'd covered with plastic and a makeshift curtain. The sound was the largest shards banging against the window frame. Not wanting to cut myself, I duct-taped the curtain to the surrounding wall and am hoping for the best. 24 hrs ago it was 57 degrees. It's 14 now, on the way down to 7--with wind chills in the double-digits below-zero by morning. On go the faucets to trickle overnight...
We went to Cellars' Oscar party and had a great time. Buffet was nominee-themed. My DsOTD were a "Favourite" cocktail (cava, a dash of orange bitters and fragola liqueur with two tiny wild strawberries) and then a flute of cava. Bob came within one point of winning the Oscar contest--had he picked Olivia Colman instead of Glenn Close or Green Book over Roma, he'd have won. It'd have been his third win. Funny thing was that the last pic we watched before heading over to the party was The Favourite, and we had been talking about how Olivia Colman's performance was amazing and Oscar-worthy, but that Glenn Close was "owed" an Oscar after all these years!

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Monday Monkey Day!Just a quick poop in, I need to leave extra early this ayem due to the interstate speed limit being lowered as the crews clean up from yesterday's storm. 4 inches of snow and sleet. Yuck.Everyone stay safe today!

Jazzy, CO should be nice come the end of May. Great that you found a reasonable flight.
Janky, how long will you be gone? Do take it easy girl, you don't want to make things worse.
NM, I too am ready for spring, but not the wind that comes with it! That is how they do meals for my mom, there is always an alternate, however, I think they only bring like 2 and never offer it, you have to ask what it is and she forgets. But usually will eat whatever they bring, if she's not sleeping. Not so sure about that Crossbones DOTD....Ooooh baby!
Oh my Sandy, glad you didn't get cut. We have had cold mornings here, we actually got down to 1 yesterday morning and close to that this morning. But temps warming up into the 50's this week.
Safe travels to work NM.
Using my new computer, stupid thing won't copy/paste pictures from the internet. I have to save them first. Grrrrrrr!
DOTD-Blizzard Martini

2 oz white chocolate liquer
1 oz vanilla-flavored vodka
1.5 oz half and half

Happy Monday! It is beautiful here today. Sunshine, 60’s and soft breezes. Rain starts again tomorrow. Will walk three miles this am, then work some in the yard cleaning up. Have laundry to do and an errand with my son. So sorry about all the snow and cold temps. Have several social events this week and chemo on Friday. I love having fun things to look forward to. ThatDOTD looks like it would be tasty even on a warm day!

Chi - that weather sounds horrible, I guess that window needs fixing now Do you live in Chicago? Your 'Cellars' sounds like a really fun place! Stay warm...
NM - drive safely on those roads!
goldie - I have no intentions of doing much more than relaxing, though the first few days with mom and dad will not be. Mom's dementia seems to have slowed down and the last few phone 'visits' she has been better, I am looking forward to a face to face with her DH or I will cook as they go to the Senior's cafeteria for their main meal at supper time, which we may do depending on 'what's for dinner'. My dad, at 88, is remarkable, drives, does sudoko to keep his brain sharp, just started with jigsaw puzzles too. He insists on playing at least one hour of rummy or 31 daily with my mom to help keep her brain thinking as well.
It is 22 below zero here with winds making it 36- I am so looking forward to Georgia and Florida!! Stay warm and dry and safe.... Cheers!

Mornin' ladies,
Sandy why would u go up there??? I mean u always seem to have a crazy accident, happy nothing happend to u tho. Oh the Oscar party sounds like fun to go to, except I really don't keep up with these pics anymore, so I don't have a real opinion like I used to.
Kim I knew u'd acclimate urself easily to this new job. I really believe u can do any type of work in ur profession and u'd do it so well. I've trusted what u tell us all this time and pay attention too.
Janky u trip sounds amazing. when I hear all "family" I just think it's great U know how u feel and I'm sure u'll figure what u can do.
Jazzy wherever u get ur pics from on FB and here are unbelievable. U can almost picture bein g there. I enjoy them so much. U all know I really haven't traveled much in my life, I was always to afraid, now I wish I just did it. When I took a train trip to AZ <with my mom> we had a long stop over in NM so I can say I was there anyway.
Lori WTF. Did u tell us before u were selling ur home??? I don't remember, when did this all occur??? Where r u going then, I've missed a lot more than I knew. Now u know u have to explain it to me.
My cousin is still hangin in there but it's awful. my sister had her knee operation last Monday and she's doing OK at least that's good. And Dan still is waiting for their baby to come, Kat lost her mucus plug over a week ago and in light contractions. Jeezz that seems long to me.
Sandy this weather is all crazy, our winds were horrible and made it feel so so cold. IDK it just keeps on going and miserable to go out. I'm glad it doesn't stop u tho.
LUBS U ALL

Cami, the attic is not just lots of storage but also has our second guest room (Gordy's ex-room is now our main guest room). Gordy sometimes comes over here and goes up there to do his online work undisturbed--our wi-fi signal is stronger than in his apt. The only reason I went up there yesterday was because the sound from the broken glass was driving me nuts; I was hoping it wasn't another critter (we've had squirrels & a mama raccoon sneak in through warped soffits before getting them fixed--the soffits, not the critters).
Janice, as to frizz I found a really good haircare brand: Living Proof's No-Frizz line of products. Their stuff is sulfate-and-salt-free (though I use a special keratin shampoo & conditioner, Giovanni, from Whole Foods). Before blowing dry, I detangle by using a little pea-sized dollop of "Nourishing Styling Cream," their heat-protecting styling cream. (That covers my below-shoulder-length hair). After, especially if it's raining or sticky out, I first use a bit of their instant de-frizzer and then their anti-humidity hairspray (a very little bit). In between shampoos, their Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo is outstanding--best I've used. Not cheap, but worth it (and they make everything in travel sizes too). Ulta & Sephora sells the stuff online, as probably does Amazon.
Cold today--high of only 21. At least no precip till tomorrow, when they're predicting "light snow showers." And the Polar Vortex isn't done with us yet--next Sunday they're predicting a low of -1 (that's air temp, not wind chill). Latest I can ever recall Chicago going below zero, and I've been here 40 years. Not taking any chances weather-wise--will early-vote at the library early tonight after my PCP appt. (a1c, cholesterol, anemia followup). Not gonna get a glucose test, as I know it will be high because of all the carbs I had last night, plus the French toast & 2 cups of black coffee I had for breakfast. The a1c is more accurate, as it measures reaction to glucose long-term.
Not drinking tonight--had brutal heartburn overnight (not just all the buffet food, much of it fried, but the two drinks I had with dinner).

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Twofer Tuesday! First day of class went well, even got my eval done in the afternoon (my boss observes via an app on the phone) and got good feedback. This group is kind of quiet, but was opening up by the end of the day. The snow has stopped, but the cold wind sure has moved in! All kinds of bumps and thumps and bangs going on last night. Looking forward to a fun second day.
Goldie--thanks for covering the DOTD, and it looks so yummy!I went through a time with the boards here where I had to save pics from the internet before I could post, then all ofsudden it changed and I can copy and paste from many internet sites (but not Facebook). Not sure what that's all about. In most nursing homes if someone doesn't eat a meal well they are offered the alternate, unless they have someone who goes around and asks residents what they want for each meal.
Librarian--60s and soft breezes? I'm jealous! I know my turn is coming, but it sounds so nice when its 7 but feels like -11! It is good to have fun things to look forward to.
Janky--I do drive carefully--and I irritate lots of other drivers cuz when the speed limit is dropped to 45 mph, I drive at 45-50 mph! Having been in one pile up, I'm quite content to slow down and take my time and get where I am going in one piece. YIKES! Talk about cold, I guess I have nothing to complain about compared to you!
Cammy--thanks for the vote of confidence!Greatly appreciated! Wow, lots of waiting going on in your family, waiting for both ends of the life spectrum. Sounds like you are getting a lot of wind where you are, too.
Chi--sounds pretty cold where you are, too. This cold weather is getting almost all of us, but at least Librarian is lucking out and avoiding it! I had to laugh at the getting the soffits but not the critters fixed!
Cammy--Love the kitty's expression! Last week I thought Thursday was Friday, was a bit disappointed to find out I was off by a day!

Mornin' Ladies,
Jeez did I somehow miss a lot or has it just been quiet.
OK I'm sorry sandy I was picturing an empty attic with just 2by4's to walk on. Now I understand. But u still have to be careful. Sandy I found out the card was bought from behind the counter and there would be no way to see those 3 numbers on the back. Now the Visa company wrote and said it should be figured out by May 4th. That sounds crazy to me. I even sent the receipt for the stupid card. Oh well . It's funny tho cuz this time was the first time I ever got that large of an amount. Again oh well.
Work has been super busy for me just the last day or so. I fell asleep but my phone rang and woke me up just for an estimate app't. It was after 11PM, why do people think that's a good time. Well I was lucky and fell back to sleep.
I talked to my sister last night she thought she was operated a week ago last Friday but it was last Monday, so she said now she was better on the timeline.Oh God we're all so goofy.
I haven't hears how this weekends weather is all about. Have a shower to go to on Sunday, My sister and I are both hoping we can go. She's registered at Macy's and Bed Bath and beyond but since no one can really shop I'm going to give a gift card from one of these. I went thru the registry and of course all the reasonably priced stuff is all gone and my sister is doing the same thing this time. This is my nephews son and he's 28 so I think he's old enough LOL This is the nephew who is married to the niece that helps me out a lot...she's a gem.
I'll check in later.
LUBS U ALL

I don't even know what a couple of things are in this drink, but it looks good to me.

Janky, what a sweet story about your mom and dad, especially him trying to keep her mind sharp.
Sandy, that is cold!
Cami, my husband and I are wanting to sell so the kids don't have to deal with it when we are gone. None of them are smart enough, and none of them are interested in living out here and continue the business. We really don't want to move, we love it out here. It's just the smarter thing to do. I'm just afraid it won't sell. I hope your cousin is not suffering. Almost knocked you into the pewl! There is no way I would answer the phone that late at night, especially a business call! And just to set up an appt....WTF?
NM, it's so nice to see you so happy with your new job. Makes it easier to not think of the "circus". I'm really not concerned about my mom eating, I hope it will help her along. Her sugar drops real low too. But I assume if she were to go into a diabetic coma, she will not be aware of it. Nothing wrong with being a cautious driver. I also try to keep a good distance between me and the other person, even in normal traffic. Just a good practice.
Starting to warm here, so the snow is melting. DH went out yesterday in the morning while in single digits and the roads froze. He said they are a mess and in some spots the snow was 2 feet deep on the road, and will be very muddy. We don't go out unless we absolutley have to. He doesn't even think we can get out of here on Friday to head to Moab.
Here's the website I'm working on.
