Just saying "see ya all soon. Thank you all for the good wishes for my son. So far all is good, but no explanation as to what happened.
Taking off early in the morning, if I have a signal I'll be checking in.
Jazzy, I guess I really hadn't thought about so much going on in my life, I guess because it all really has a fairly good ending.
My DD is heading to Michigan on Sunday. Her dad can't pick her up as he forgot he was doing a fishing tournament in the UP. REALLY? So my brother will get her and she will spend the night with him. But he is not taking her to her dads, he has to pick her up.
Love you all so very much!

Lori, doesn't it always seem that the Good Samaritans get all the bad luck? Glad to hear your son's okay--he is a good soul to be a caregiver (even de facto) for a disabled elder. But he does need to make sure he stays hydrated, eats when he should, and watches out for falling hazards.
Last night was a twofer--I had one piece each of farmed Icelandic and wild Copper River salmon to pan-sear, so I divided them between us. We had that Mumm Sparkling Chardonnay with the Atlantic and a 2017 "Bench" Sonoma Pinot Noir with the Pacific.
Had a bit (emphasis on "bit") of a scare these past couple of days. Starting Mon. night, the sore on the roof of my mouth behind my L incisor began to reappear. When I first noticed it last summer, the tooth hurt too and felt loose. Well, back then it turned out to have been an abscess that required two root canals. I panicked this time--because two of Bob's patients had neglected abscessed teeth. One, a woman, got endocarditis (she's better now but is getting an LVAD implanted) but was so freaked out at the prospect of future abscesses that she had all her teeth pulled and is getting implants. The other (a family practitioner who refers patients to Bob) hadn't been to a dentist in two years. He fell and hurt his already-arthritic hip and was scheduled for a hip replacement...until it was discovered that not only was his hip infected but so was his heart valve, and he's a poor surgical risk. Nevertheless, he's going to need a valve replacement. So when I thought my abscess had resurfaced, I immediately contacted my entire dental team--dentist, orthodontist, endodontist & periodontist yesterday. I thought at best it was a very angry periodontal ligament, resentful of having to do some of the tooth-moving work the bone should be doing but can't because I'm on Prolia.
They all told me to see the endodontist first but not stop my Invisalign treatment. (The sore felt worse with the aligner in, and w/in 1/2 hr of removing it for meals & tooth care, it didn't). So I saw the endodontist (I was overdue for a 6-mo. followup anyway) today. She took X-rays, poked around, and concluded that there's no abscess and the root canals & fillings are just fine--the sore was just from the edge of the aligner "squishing" that gum tissue and irritating it, especially since any redness disappeared right before her eyes once I removed the aligner. She suggested I ask the orthodontist if it's okay for me to file down some of the offending edge, and that it was okay by her to switch to the next one (#4) tonight as planned (and rinse with tepid salt water to calm down any residual pain). I called the ortho and he said fine--to switch to #4 tonight, file down its edge if needed, and if it still hurts after 3 or 4 days to go back to my current aligner for another week.
Whew! Maybe have more champagne?

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy hump day!Hard to believe it's the middle of the week already, but that's what happens with a long weekend, right? Getting off to a chilly start again today, along with rain, again. I'm beginning to think we'll never dry out this summer! Even Sadie is a little tired of the mud and wet.
Goldie--a whole half hour to get to camp????? Around here, that's a short commute to work!Going "upta camp" means a drive of at least an hour, more often 2! Actually, I'm glad camp is so close for you, makes it more convenient once you get it open for the season.Or do you go year round? Oh my goodness, you must be scared silly for your son. I hope it turns out to be something simple like dehydration or low blood sugar from not eating.
Librarian--Can you send about 20 degrees of that my way? That would put us at just about seasonable and maybe a tad more comfortable for you.
Jazzy--it sure is a cold summer so far!
Goldie--have a good trip, prayers for you son and DD.Family comes with so much drama sometimes.
Chi--wow, what a scare! Glad it turned out to be something simple to address.
Morning, Cammy Cat!
Camel Hump Ingredients
- 3/4 shot Butterscotch Schnapps
- 1/4 shot Irish Cream
Pour Butterscotch Schnapps into a shot glass 3/4 of the way full. Fill rest of drink with Bailey's Irish Cream.

Mornin' ladies,
Oh Lori please tell us as soon as u know about ur son. Jeez I hate hearing this. There can be a lot of reasons this happened and most are fixed easily. Ur on the go again, how do u do all this.
Kim I finally figured out why sadie is such a character, u r too but disguised. U 2 are so much fun together.
Sandy glad it was a simple fix, I know how awful having infections could be.
Well I lost my brother now, no he's not missing, he's passed away. He';s the one married to the crazy lady and I really think he just wanted to die. He was going to rehab and I think he just gave up. Last week he already apologized to his DD that he was leaving them such a mess to handle and then died in his sleep. My sister and I have been rehashing so many stories, naturally laughing and some tears, we're all thats left from all the cousins. But looking back Lu and I are so happy for having such a good life in most ways and laughed thru most of it, which a lot of people can't say. My brother was especially good to me, he always supported me <monetarily> thru all my crazy times and it was alot. He made sure I had my own condo in my name---he was so generous with me. He made it impossible for me to thank him cuz he'd fluff me off with. ur my sister and never talked about it and I didn't either. I told u I was the baby and spoiled like u can't believe. He was a good guy to so many people and it's just sad.

NM, camper/toy hauler is a half hour from the house, our road is too bad to try and drive it here, plus we don't have a building to keep it in. We keep it at our warehouse we have in town. Moab, where we are camping is about 7-8 hours hauling the camper, only 6 if we just take the FJ.
Cami, your family has been through a lot too. I am so sorry about your brother, but glad he went in his sleep. Big hugs and lots of prayers for your family.
My son is doing well, but they aren't seeing anything. So I guess they don't know what happened to him! Have a great week all!

Cami- I am so sorry about the loss of your brother.
Sending big hugs to you and the family during this time of loss and change

Goldie, I’m glad your son is ok, enjoy your trip 😀
Cami, I’m sorry to hear about your brother, it must be hard. I have a brother and even though he’s a mess, 50 yrs old sleeping on a couch in our parents garage, I’d miss him. Hugs to you.
Hi Jazzy, NM, ChiSandy, Librarian, muddling, karen, Dara, Mema and everyone here.
The first of the summers ales arrived back in store recently and I had a tasty St. Arnold summer pils. I had radiation to those two spots in my brain on Thursday, rested this weekend, then started back at the gym yesterday, other than that, not much new going on here.

Oh, Cami, I'm so sorry! May your brother's memory be for a blessing. My people have a saying: to die in one's sleep is to die the death of a holy, saintly person. Certainly sounds like your brother was one.

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Thirsty Thursday! Getting up to chilly and damp again. I so want it to just DRY OUT a little!I know the first time we get the least amount of sunshine the grass is just going to explode and get hard to cut in Sadie's yard. I really want to get in there before that happens.Oh well, some things I can't control, and the weather is one of them! Even Sadie is less than enthused with getting up this ayem. It's so not fair that she gets to go back to bed and curl up under the covers while I have to shiver in the chilly and get ready for work!
Cammy--I am so sorry for you loss. I cannot imagine what it feels like to loseyour brother. Hugs.
Goldie--Aha, I misunderstood!Your camp truly is camp distance. Not that it matters how far away camp is as long as you enjoy going there. Glad your son is doing well, wish they knew what happened, though.
Morning, Jazzy.

Mornin ladies,
Lori I'm glad they didn't find anything with ur son. I pray he's up and going now, but what a scare to have. U sure love camping I never saw the benefit of it. I mean I always liked the idea of a motel and bed and sheet and a big TV of course.
Thank u all for ur kind words. Now I wish my nephews felt kind to each other. There's been no plans yet for my brother they are arguing so much really bad. One got my brother taken out of the hospital for rehab and he really wasn't ready and the other one is so mad cu he figured he wasn't ready and he died within 24 hours. They really don't get life and they're in their 60's. My bro was ready to die so leave it alone and altho he prepaid whatever he wanted one has his own beliefs and the other's is the exact opposite. I want to knock their heads together. They are only 13 mos. apart u'd think they's be closer. My niece is staying out of it. I helped raise these kids and not this way. But my SIL was so mean I guess she over rode me. Sometimes I think I should step in, they've always said me being around was the best part of their lives and yet I feel like age has diminished how I treated them. And now they have to figure out what to do with my SIL she can't live alone but she somehow thinks she can. Wow she shoul have been a nicer mom, certainly no one wants her. They've lived in an assisted living apartment but now she needs different type of care. What a mess they have going on. Of course my BIL, sister and I have to stay out, he was still my brother and my BIL was very close to him and they know that. This is all sad, never thought all this would happen. Crazy.
Yesterday Marty's cousin stayed here for 2 days and one of Les's GF came by for lunch and it was great for Les. These girls I've always liked.
Well I hope everyone has a good Thursday leading up to a great Friday and weekend. And thanks for letting me vent.

Me again, Marty and Leslie just left for Marty's surgery, see more about me, me, me

Hi friends- boy this week is going fast but getting closer to the weekend quickly. We just had a long one, and here I am wanting more weekend.
Cami- I am sorry the family is fighting about the arrangements. My family is pretty dysfunctional and anyone's passing, expected or otherwise, has always been a chit fest. It is a stressful time with this being sudden, and probably just good to stay out of it and go to whatever services you can. I am sorry they pulled him out of his care too early, just helped nothing. Sorry to hear Marty is having more surgery too- okay to be about you, you, you.....
NM- I heard New England may have had some of this bad weather that moved through here on Sunday. Everything okay? I am wearing warmer early spring clothing as it should be pushing into the upper 80s to 90s around this time of the year and highs of 70 most days. I like the coolness but my wardrobe is not oriented to a cool summer?
Oh my word, all these tornadoes all the time around the country.
Gotta get out for my morning walk and then to work. I am going to try to go back to da pool tonight as my eye finally seems healed enough to give it a go. Been three weeks since the biopsy and wart removal. Been a long process of healing but things are looking pretty good now.
Wishing everyone a decent day. Sometimes that is the best we can hope for!

I haven't drank ever in my life and i am happy about it.

Stephy01 - lots of the 'drinkers' here are non drinkers too - it is more for fun, support and camaraderie as we each get through our days. Enjoy our company!
Hi everyone - omg - here it is another week gone by and I have been 'out of the loop' even though I have mostly been home. I went to see an opthamologist Tuesday and yes indeed I have cataracts on each eye, so am awaiting the call to get the first one repaired - as I have never liked anything near my eyes I am NOT looking forward to drops 4 times daily for a month, arghhh! Plus I will have to stop my medications for a wee while as well and I am just getting settled with them, oh well, I am looking forward to seeing things clearly again...
Welcome to any newbies and keep smiling and sharing. Cheers!

I had my cataracts fixed two, almost three years ago. The change was magical! I must have been pretty much blind. I could not read unless it was an ebook and the font had to be huge. The drops were a pain in the ass, but I got used to it after a while.
Weather here is supposed to “cool down” to 95 degrees next week. and there is a slim chance for rain. So far it has been 16 days with no rain. Yikes! Now there are warnings against any outside burning. Two small brush fires closed down an Interstate yesterday.
Chemo tomorrow AM, then the beach. I am sooooooo ready!

Janice, the weeks of eyedrops go by quickly, and the change in vision is well worth the minor annoyance.
Stephy, these DsOTD (Drinks of the Day) are for you: yesterday, Canfield's lemon seltzer and San Pellegrino Essenza Dark Morello Cherry/Pomegranate sparkling mineral water; today, Bubly strawberry seltzer. No alcohol, no coloring, no sweeteners. They're my go-to when I'm not having wine that day, and instead of my beloved coffee while I'm wearing my Invisalign (coffee stains the plastic, and heat warps it). Gotta wear the Invisalign at least 20, optimally 22+ hr/day, so what and when I eat & drink matters quite a bit more than it used to.
Cami, my dear friend Maryjane (who passed away of sepsis almost 2 yrs ago after an 18-mo, struggle with a broken hip) defined her version of "roughing it:" no room service, no HBO.

Chi - thanks for that - I guess if we can put up with the 'indignities' of cancer, eye drops are not that awful in the overall scheme and yes! very excited to see clearly...
JCS - 'drop' to 95?! Weather is so wild and weird - we have wildfires burning many, many miles north of us and the smoke is terrible, I cannot imagine how bad it is closer to the fires.
cami - I prefer roughing it with room service, tv, hot tub and pool myself!
NM - Again - weird weather everywhere, imagine that Sadie is getting tired of mud rolling! Heat and sunshine need to come your way too!
Hi Stephy, illi, goldie, gigi, jazzy, and everyone else - Cheers!

Good Morning, Loungettes! Happy TGIF day! Getting up to fog and drizzle, but that's supposed to stop this ayem and, maybe, just maybe, the sun will come out later! At least it's not frosty this ayem! I know it's warmer cuz Silly Sadie is curled up sleeping in the recliner rather than going back to bed and making a nest of the pillows and blankets like she does when it's chilly.
Cammy--oh, my, how heartbreaking a situation your family is in! The nephews will need to work things out for themselves, you are right to stay out of it, in my opinion. So hard when someone dies and the rest of the family is thrust into new responsibilities. People's weaknesses that have been hidden or compensated for become evident. Hugs.
Now there's a fascinating DOTD!I've got to look up cinchona bark and find out what that's all about!
Praying Marty's surgery goes well.
Jazzy--by the time the big weather systems get to us here they've usually calmed down quite a bit. Mostly what we see here are thunderstorms in the summer, or heavy rain. Sometimes with some wind.Fortunately there's not enough flat country for tornadoes to be a big worry. We get one or two a year but they are small and generally cause little damage (but lots of excitement) or occur in the deep woods.Typically, it takes a few days for the official weather people to get here, look at the damage and make a determination of if there was or wasn't a tornado. Not at all like what the midwest gets! Glad the wart removal site is healing up well.
Welcome Stephy01!You don't have to drink to join in the fun here! Pull up a bar stool and tell us about yourself.
Janky--health is never an easy road, isn't it? Eye drops 4 times a day for a month? Is that before or after surgery? Being able to see clearly would be a very good reward for going through all that.
Librarian--I'll trade some rain for some degrees!Enjoy the beach!
Chi--LOL at your friend's definition of "roughing it"!
Janky--Yup, very odd weather this spring. I never thought I'd see Sadie get tired of mud.
Jazzy--Don't get blown away!

Hi ladies- we made it to Friday! I have a fun day of work here at home, but plan to relax on the patio with an DOTD later today. I have a fun weekend ahead with the first jazz outside music tomorrow night and then a jazz party on Sunday (where I will bring my instruments and play). Weather is still cooler and we had a sort of 'wind storm' yesterday afternoon but things do feel like they are warming up again. Usually by now we are pushing in to the low 90s as we come in to June, but so far in the low 70s. I do like the cooler weather but not the wind......
Janky- I also was told last year I have cataracts in both eyes. My initial visit in Nov lead to a surgical consult in Feb. they said I could wait but not to wait too long. I have another check in around August. I am not seeing a lot of change in vision, except for night time. Every time I see the doctor, I am cleared for three months to do the surgery. I was told about the eye drops too and do agree it's inconvenient but nothing is quite as convenient as bc treatment. Everything is relative.
Cami- how did the surgery go for Marty yesterday? Was in outpatient or is he in house? I am not sure I have ever seen a cat playing the trombone either, lol.
I have to get going and more later this weekend friends

Mornin ladies,
Stephie I don't drink at all but the gals here are great and they don't care at all.
Oh eye drops I know it's a silly thing but they are tough to take My sister has to use them all the time plus she gets a shot once a month, but she's not allowed to talk to me about the shot in her eye. Which after all the chit we go thru she LOLs at me for not being able to talk about it.
We have had 12 days with rain, we went without electric one day just for a couple of hrs. But that's nothing compared with what some people have gone thru. This is insane it just doesn't stop and it's been warm so I'm told.
Marty's doing good, so that's a good thing.
Oh my phones have started so I'd better get to work...be back

Hi everyone! In am reading along, just not much to say, ha ha.
Cami, I am so sorry that your brother passed away. It sounds like he was very kind to you and I know you'll miss him. I hope the drama in his immediate family will resolve as peacefully as possible.
Janky, I had cataract surgery to one eye in 2017. There are drops and eyelid wipes to use before surgery and then drops after as you know. The day after surgery you'll need to go in and let them look at your eye, and then again in two weeks or so. I had to sleep with a plastic eye shield to protect the area. It was a little odd but not bad. I certainly didn't want to scratch it in my sleep. The drops are a bit inconvenient but it is SO worth it! The surgery itself was easy, and we went right out to eat a late lunch afterward. I had more light sensitivity and really needed good sunglasses 😎!
Goldie, I am keeping your son in my prayers. Scary! I hope all is well with him and that your daughter continues to heal.
I read along and try to keep up with everyone's posts. Hope you all have a good weekend.

A little bit of pretty for your friday afternoon

Two days ago it was 49F in late afternoon. Today it hit 83. Tomorrow, down to 70 and rain (just when we're going out to a hospital gala in the far burbs). And on Wed., my mani-pedi day, when I'm supposed to wear flip-flops? 60s and rain.

Had an Aperol spritz (albeit a weak one) after dinner because I still have 15 min. before having to put my Invisalign back in.

Mornin' ladies.
Holy chit Sandy u r so organized all the time I kinda envy that, I said kinda not 100% LOL I'm just so opposite I can't imagine being like that. Is ur DH like that too??? I do know being like me causes more confusion, so it's really good to be organized.
Muddling poop in whenever it's just good to hear from u and just talk about anything u wan t.
Oh what a pretty flower. We're having so much rain still, the summer will probably super dry. ick.
