Evening Ladies.  Stopping by for a few drinks.  The weekend is here.  Pre Op said I have high blood pressure so have to go to another doc Tuesday to get a plan.  Needs to go down quickly before surgery.  I have had up and down blood pressures since my diagnosis.  Guess it's time to get some help.  If it isn't one damn thing, it's another.  Guess I can blame this one on my dad and his genes....I still love ya dad.  He passed on many years ago!  I am ready for some cold beer.  My stress level needs to drop about 4 fold.  Dee, is that your kitty that doesn't like baths?

My little pono to ya all too!  HunkyD

Oh HunkyD, so sorry about the high b/p...hope it can be brought back to a normal level b4 your surgery! Of course, stressing about it isn't good either....aarrgghh. Would b/p pills bring it down in time? Hope the beer will help, but not sure about that....Undecided! Bummer, big time. OR, in the land of OZ..."its a buggah".

Lori, sooo neat about getting to be with your bro! Sounds like an Embassy Suite? I like their happy hours and breakfasts. Tried to get one here, earlier, for tonight, but was all booked. It is right in town next to our big park and natural spring, where this weekend is "Big Spring Jam"...lots of music all weekend...Sara Evans, Village People, War, Black Crows (or Counting Crows?),tons of groups. Parking its a real b*tch,so thought I would go if we had a room right there and could walk...well duh...other people thought of that too, and much earlier than I did! They also doubled their rates for this weekend Frown. Anyway, it is still raining so wouldn't have been fun being outside in crowds with rain/storms. BUT I hope you will have just a great time, and get lots of visiting in! Howoften do you get to see him? Will he get to be at the wedding? Mine lives in AK, so don't get to see him too often, exc when we are both in HI, or he visits us when my parents are here. Regarding your hair....sometimes the tradewinds can be quite strong...so might blow your hair a lot...it might be easier to just let the curls take over. I know when I visit now, I just don't even try to keep my hair styled! But of course it could be windless...you never know.

Still hot upstairs...the a/c guy didn't get it fixed after all. So I'm not on the computer as much, and when I am, I am cranky!!! SO, bear with me. DH brought home a case of some beer that is just 67 calories....prob not as much alc in it I guess...lol. Take care everyone!!!!!!! Happy Weekend!!!!!

    Okole Hao,

    Kathy

    Hey there Y'awl,

Yep, that's my big 26 pounder Bubba cat.  It takes two of us to rangle him into the bath and one of us has to stay completely dressed to hold him in the tub . Lather, Rinse, Repeat.  It is a sight to behold, trust me. Then we have to bandage the battle wounds later. There is no way anyone else could bath him, so we have to. It is still raining here in Buckeye country, and frankly getting kinda sick of it. But it is nowhere what people got down south, so I better not complain to loudly. Hunky sorry to hear about the high B/P, get well soon! You have to be ready to get your new foobbies. I can't wait to hear how much better you feel after (yes I am living vicariously through you right now) GET ER DONE! Kathy I hope you get your A/C fixed soon. I would  be a puddle if mine quit working. Wish I could meet you at the Jam, it sounds like fun! We have Oktoberfest this weekend  at the OSU fairgrounds, it is inside so the rain won't matter. To all the ladies here in the lounge, have a great weekend and stay safe!

    Keep your bottoms up! Wink

Kathy, I think they will slap me on meds next week if it hasn't gone down.  I am trying not to focus on it.  The stress between surgery and that is enough to give me fits.  Dee, that is one heavy duty kitty.  Speaking of heavy, I wonder if Junies purse is getting any lighter by now...LOL!  Hope your are having fun anyway Junie.  DH and I just took the dog for a 1.5 mile walk and now we are sitting on our butts watching golf.  I walked yesterday also.  Got to take advantage of the nice weather.  Forecast says turning cold next week. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far.  Seeyall later at the lounge......HD

I'm home! Had a wonderful time, although way too short. Yes Kathy, it is Embassy. Our favorite place. My stepdaughter (hate calling her that) joined us too. We stayed up until midnight, drinking and yapping. And since I had been up since 5am, needless to say, when I got home yesterday, I was whooped! Went to bed at 7. I get to see my family once a year if I am lucky, so I couldn't have my brother 4 hours away from and NOT go see him.

Hunky, get that BP under control. We can't have this delayed, not an option! Like Dee says "GIT ER DONE!"

Dee, love "keep your bottoms up" too funny.

I bought a flat iron, and straightened my hair. It looked ok, but took an hour to do it. I am not used to having to spend so much damn time on my hair. Before BC, I washed it, let it air dry, then took a blow dryer to kind of fluff, round brush on top and bangs, done in 10 minutes. As for rockin the curls Kathy, it is not a good look. I look like a poodle! Maybe I should take my wigs!

Junie, hope you are having fun with us in your purse!

    Hugs, Lori

Lori, Glad you got home safely and had a GR8 time!!! As for your hair, I wonder if it would help to get a floral or maile lei to put on your hair? They make the smaller versions, like a sorta wreath...would that help to get it under control? I just wonder if you straighten it with the flat iron and then it ends up being windy, what that would do? Hmmm...maybe the wigs as a backup would be a good idea? Wouldn't take up much room in your suitcase.

junie, hope the wedding went great...we couldn't hear everything in your closed up purse....darn it! But it was nice to have the flask to drink from...hope we didn't empty it when you might have needed it.....lol. Can't wait to hear all the juicy details and see your dress!!!

HunkyD, hope you're feeling okay. AND I hope you get that taken care of STAT! We need you to be nice and healthy, and coming here and having fun. I didn't get to sleep till 5 am again...don't know what my prob is...mind keeps racing on too many things. Even if I get up to do stuff or to read, it doesn't help. Had a sorta rough weekend, so that might be why :(  . Got a lot to do b4 my parents get here on the 10th, so getter get hopping.....(or maybe I should hop over to the HTL instead???)...

    Hafa Dai,

    Kathy

Dee 1961 - Hi, I just joined this board about a month ago, (and this topic about 5 minutes ago), but noticed that you are in central OH - me too! Hi neighbor!  Just wondering if you made it to Octoberfest?  We thought about going, but too much work around the house kept us from it.

Nice to see another Buckeye - sorry it has to be on this board.

Welcome to the Hot Tatties Lounge, Erika! Sorry you had a reason to be at the breast cancer site, but glad you found us at the bar as its a fun place to be. Here you can get away from the everyday, and just have fun and drink, or unload your worries....we'll be here for you either way. Try to go back and see the pics of the lounge, and our "Tattie Tenders", Pants and Jocks. They are hot! Well, its pau hana time here....so.....Pants, will you PLEASE bring me a drink...and make it a double. I think Erika may want one too, so make her one of your "specials". Jocks didn't have anything to do, so is rubbing my feet as I sit by the pool....pure bliss! A toast to all you fantastic bar buds!!!

Kathy, whoa, a foot rub sounds wonderful.  I have been trying to walk a couple miles a day.  I guess I have been too lethargic after my last two surgerys.  Recovery makes for a a harder exercise regime.  Anyway, a nice 2 mile brisk walk with DH and dog got me thirsty and looking for my monkey this afternoon.  I am not going to let things stand in the way of getting rid of my spacecraft, and my flap revision surgery in a week.  I don't want to let my other expander (sisters) down.  LOL...Lori, glad you had good time with brother!  My brother and his wife are supposed to be here sometime in October.  I will be a piloshit.  I hope I am feeling well enough for some good food, wine, etc.  We will see.  HD

Hi HunkyD! That is FANTASTIC that you have been walking lately....should help your b/p too. I keep meaning to do that...dogs would love it....but procrastination wins out every time. How long do you think you will be in the hosp from your Oct 6 surgery? Not fun, but then you will be closer to being DONE with the recon stuff....YAY!!! Think of the party we can have then. Hope you feel ok when your bro and sil visit....hard to be a hostess when you don't feel you are your "mostest"....aarrghhh that was too feeble an attempt at humor....sorry gals. Had a fun happy hour when Pants brought my drinks...sat outside...always throw the ice out to the dogs and they love it...even jump up for it when they hear the "clink" that the last sip produces...funny how they can tell that! Nice weather...hummies are out,as well as cardinals, morning doves, etc.

    Ciao,

Kathy, dont know how long my next surgery will keep me in motel Hell!  My P.S. hates long hospital stays unless necessary.  I am hoping I have no extra time there due to water retention, infection, etc...Just mostly hoping surgery can go through on time.  I think it will.  I am not excited as much as Lori is about the 6th as sure.  I don't need to worry about nail polish at all...LOL...tomorrow is Monday....one more week of work!  I love you all....HD

Hi to all my lounge sistas,

Went to Oktoberfest today and it was fun. Had a brat and a cream puff mmmm good. I didn't have any german beer though, I just wasn't in the mood to drink today..VERY WEIRD  LOL   I hope you all had a nice weekend. I am not looking forward to this week at work, we have a big takeover going on and it will be highly stressful. I will make up on the drinking this coming week for sure! I have been thinking, wouldn't it be great if we could all meet someday? Maybe a girls weekend getaway in Vegas or something like that. After everything we've all been through we deserve a vacation!

    Love to all,

    Dee~

    P.S. Erika I sent you a PM

HunkyD, Yeah, it would be good for you to be in the hospital for as little time as possible! Hope you will have enough time off from work though, to be fully recovered before going back. I will have to wait till spring now I guess, to get my 3D tatts...ended up needing another small treatment in Dec., so can't get them done in the fall like I had hoped. SO now my bilat mast and recon is taking 2 yrs to be done....weird yeah cause I didn't have any complications! Drivin' me to drink, I tell ya....lol.

Dee, How far are you from Tunica, MS (about 1/2 hour below Memphis)? I know junie and I can drive there....not sure who else could. I think Vegas would be fun too, though! Glad you got to go to Oktoberfest....but...no German beer???? You need to get back to normal...lol. Missed our Oktoberfest AGAIN...it is always near my b'day and we are always out of town. Last time we went to ours here was prob 10 yrs ago! Did get to Munich for one though...and it was a business trip so the Germans reserved a large table in the best tent...that was awesome. Learned a lot of German and Belgium drinking songs that night....but don't remember them at all now...duh!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Junie, are you back yet? CasinoGirl, jaybird, CAZ, Stormy1, where are you?

    Kathy,

I am about 625 miles from Tunica, so would be 8-10 hour drive?

That's doable for me, but if I could get a cheap flight I may do that instead. We should really try to get something going for next year. I couldn't see your link, but I am at work. I will try it at home later.

    Take care!

Why is it I read one study that says "a glass of red wine will help with the S.E. of Radiation" then turn right around and read another study that says "S.E. from Chemo. induced menopause can be made worse from drinking red wine." UGH

Hunky, I too hope you are not stuck in motel hell for very long. Home is always better. I so hope you are up to company when your brother gets there. Are they staying with you? Keep up with the walking. Aren't you seeing someone this week about the BP? Mine usually runs low, I take a high bp medicine for my hot flashes. So if you get hot flashes and they put you on something, maybe it will help with those too. I take clonadine.

Kathy, 2 yrs for recon! Holy cow! I will look into the flowers for my hair when I get there. I don't know how I am going to do my hair. If I will go straight or curled. Probably won't know until that day. How nice that you have your mom and dad coming. How long are they staying? You better quit over doing it, so you can get some rest and enjoy their company. Did you get the AC fixed?

Dee, an all girl visit would be fantastic. We will have to keep that on the back burner. Brats & cream puffs? I hope you didn't have them together! That does NOT sound good at all! To me anyways. Now brat and a beer..........oh yeah!

Come on Junie....we are waiting for all the juicy gossip. Maybe she is mad at us for emptying her flask!

Paulding, I quit reading about stuff you should and shouldn't do, just for that reason. There is ALWAYS conflicting studies. Do what YOU feel comfortable with. Chemo induced menopause sucks, period! So welcome to the Hot Tatties Lounge and have a glass of red wine!

    Welcome too Erika!

    Keeping my bottoms up!

Lori, That is such a nice picture!!! You both look sooo happy and you are so pretty! I think your wedding dress is sorta long, if I remember correctly(?). But your legs are so pretty, you really should show them off! Mine USED to be, but tooooo fat now. :(  Is this your hair using the flat iron, or not using it, cause it looks really nice in the pic. Thanks for sharing that! My parents arrive here next weekend (10th) and my dad stays 4 wks, and my mom stays 6 wks...they have their own place, but I need to freshen it up and get some groceries, etc. PLUS clean up our house!!!

Sorry about that link. Usually when things go around I get tons of the same stuff too, but this is the first time I saw this, and thought it was new.... its a buggah! So, my apologies everyone. I forgot too, about how they say McDonald's in OZ....the call it "Maccas"...funny cause in the US I have only heard of "MickeyD's". They shorten EVERYTHING there (words that is).

Yay....sun is out today for the 2nd day in a row...must be a record....actually I think they predict sun and nice temps all week. I hope the weather for everyone will be really nice this week!

Here is my hair with the flat iron. I like it better behind my BIG EARS, my face is too round. Even straightening it, you can see how frizzy it is!

And Kathy, don't you dare apologize for posting that link. Just because I have seen it, doesn't mean everyone else has! Besides, it's CUTE! Glad you are getting some sunshine.

Hello Ladies - and thank you for the very warm welcome. I will certainly have to go back through posts to figure out the jargon around here, but I am up for the challenge!

Goldie - your hair is very becoming either way - just beautiful! And your photo of yourself and your brother is great too.

It's about 4:30 here, is it time yet for an attitude adjustment?

Erika, Well, I wait "officially" for pau hana time at 5 pm....but of course you can get around that by realizing it is 5 pm "somewhere"...lol. Pau hana basically means you are "through (pau) working"..which usually is 5 pm, I still abide by that even though retired! But the HTL is open 24/7 and you can definately have an "attitude adjustment" any time at all. :)

Lori, Your hair looks nice in both photos (and I love your smile!), but I think I am more fond of the pic with it behind your ears. If you do that for your wedding, you could tuck a flower behind one ear. If put behind your left ear you are "taken", behind your right ear you are "single and available", on top of your head, you are "taken but still looking" lol. I would think you would definately put it behind your left ear if you use a flower!!!

Getting close to Pau Hana time,

    Kath

OH NO...not rain for your wedding day!!!! :(  Hope it is one of the rains that clears up in a minute and then the sun comes out....like "liquid sunshine"....and NOT a gully washer rain. But better yet, I hope it doesn't rain at all, esp on your wedding day!!! Ok gals, we need some major prayers here for Lori's wedding day. And I think we need to start on it today! Plus, prayers for HunkyD's surgery to go really well, on the same day. Thinking of you both!Innocent
