(((Junie))) SO sorry about all the rain! Been dry here in Chicago (thankfully!).

I'm home for 6 days, go back to work next Wednesday. Trying to get things done around here, such as yardwork and summer-into-fall-into-winter organizing. My upstairs remodel/bathroom install will start sometime next week - fun, fun! I need to schedule more trips just to get away from the mess and noise! Been working extra to help defray the cost of this much needed addition.

I'm off to trim some tree branches.....

    Cheers!

It is Happy Hour!  I am not stopping in an hour however.  Dee, I am praying your pain has eased from your last fill.  Come to the lounge and set yourself apart from sobriety for a while.  You realize by volume you will end up with 3.3 beers on each side.  That, my friend, will be a 6 pack.  LOL!  Seriously, I hope you can endure the fills and pain.  Junie, my gawd, I hope you don't float off.  For one second I thought about photoshoping an ark in the pool, but then got a beer instead.  I hope you get a reprieve from the rain.  I suppose you are having a small get together with a hundred or so people at the house this weekend.  Jaybird, bathroom remodel sounds great.  I remember when we gutted ours.  We live in a house built in the 40's.  It will be nice when you get it done.  Lori, if I win the lottery I am going to buy you a miniature power plant.  My son works for a power company as a lineman, and can hook you up!  I would suffer dearly if I couldn't have my laptop at night.  Well, I guess I should say the internet.  Junie...hope you're still connected.  CAZ...also hope you and mom are doing well.  Hop over to the lounge and have a drink tonight.  Kathy, hope you made it home ok.  Kitty, CasinoGirl, and all the rest of you drive by posters....stop in more often.  I love hearing from ya all!  HunkyD

Of all my favorite things to do,
The utmost is to have a brew.
My love grows for my foamy friend,
    With each thirst-quenching elbow bend.
Beer's so frothy, smooth and cold--
    It's paradise--pure liquid gold.
Yes, beer means many things to me...
That's all for now, I gotta pee!

Here's to Happy Hour!!!!     Buying Dee a drink for her terrific poem--that is great.

Hunky--had to laugh--no company/parties this week-end--thank god.   But will start sorting clothes out and getting ready for our big do next week-end.  Heading out of town for step-dau's wedding.   I will need to stay really drunk to make it through it all.   It is going to be a huge formal affair; outdoor wedding in a rose garden; 300 invited guests; 6 bridesmaids; 3 jr bridesmaids, whatever the hell that is--we have to go up a day early so hubby can get fitted for his tux.   We'll have 3 nites in a fairly expensive hotel that she chose to be her "headquarters".   There will be a lot of family and long-time friends also staying at the hotel who are coming from out of town also.   That will be fun to see and visit with everyone.   It will NOT be fun to spend so much quality time with the ex.   We are quite civil with each other, but she drives me nuts.  (nd, I'm sure I irritate her, too).   I think the last $ amt I heard mentioned was upwards of $30,000 for this wedding.  Not sure just who all is picking up the bill--NOT us.   This is her second wedding and we did the honorable thing and split the first tab with her mom--that was a lovely wedding in Las Vegas several years ago......so, we did give her some money at the start of all this and told her that was all we could afford to do.   Thank goodness, hubby agrees with me that paying for one wedding is all a parent is expected to do.    It will be an interesting/fun/stressful event.......remember when I told everyone some pages back that I'd much rather go to Hawaii and see Lori's wedding......

still raining, but did see a bit of sunshine today.  Forecast indicates rain for next 7 days.........

ok--finished whining and am ready to party and DRINK.

40 oz. ???  Would need BOTH hands and then would probably need help.....

Hunky--'spensive hoe down--you bet.  I made one mistake and have been keeping my mouth shut ever since-----I did ask what TV station was televising the event.....I cannot fit a can of ML into the handbag I'll be carrying, but I do have a small silver flask that just might get pulled into duty for the evening--until I can make it to the reception.  still, would much rather be going to Hawaii......

    hugggsssss to all....

Junie, have fun next weekend - can't you take a BIG purse for your preferred beverage???

Tonight it's a vouvray (2002) that I 'found' in the basement. I'm not a fan of white wine but I made a Thai dish for dinner and they actually went well together. I'd gotten a bottle of red wine from Trader Joe's today at the wine person's recommendation but was crap so it's going back!

Can't wait for the remodel/addition (it's a NEW bathroom where there currently isn't one) to be done. I plan on working a lot over the next 6-8 weeks while all the work is being done. I'm also having the upstairs completely gutted with new drywall and insulation put in.....

    Here's to Football Sunday! Cheers!

Wowsers, the lounge has been hoppin!

Hunky, you have to be one of the funniest people I know! To reference Dee's fill to a 6 pack of beer......way toooooo funny! Leave it to you...

As for the power thing, we would have enough power to leave things on, we just turn stuff off that doesn't need to be on. Not being on the puter at night is not a problem for me, as I sit in front of one all day long!

Junie, hope that rain stops soon for you. $30,000.00 wedding? Are you kidding me? Damn, I could surely think of something better to do with that money, rather than spending it on one night. And it's the second wedding???? Gheesh! You say it is an outdoor wedding, what are the plans if it rains? Now I know you aren't wishing that on them!!!!

Jaybird,  I hope all that construction goes smoothly for you. You do know what a mess you will have from the new drywall???? I too am starting to get the outside chores done, cutting back all my flowers. Won't have time in Oct for it, be gone most of the month and I don't want to have to do it in the spring.

Dee, our little poet......love the 40oz koozie, but I'm with Junie, would need two hands!

Putting out an AMBER ALERT for our dear Kathy. Where are you? Thought you were suppose to be home by now!

CAZ, hope you and mom are doing well and having fun.

    Love y'all

Hi all my fantastic drinking buds! Sorry about having to put out an amber alert, Lori....my apologies. Have been brain-dead and zombie like....the 30+ hrs traveling from Sydney to home really took its toll. Want to catch up on posts so I can respond....but will wait till I can put 2+2 together...seems impossible at the moment! Now I can't fall asleep till 7 am or so...how in the heck do you do it, jaybird???

    Love you all,

    Kathy

Yea, Kathy is back.. glad you arrived safe and sound.  The lag will be gone after a while.  Rest up.  I just got done spraying down our deck.  I think the glass table had enough dirt on it to grow a crop in.  Now, I am paying for all the arm activity, but it was fun playing with the hose.  We have 88 degrees here so it is hot out today. Hey Junie, we are entertaining tonight.  My son and his dog are coming for dinner...LOL!  I don't have to do anything but shuck corn and put it on, and make the french bread.  I think I will be able to handle it!   We are having steak and bakers so I will probably open a bottle of red. Unfortunately, I have a feeling I am going to have to go light on the drinks tonight as I might have to dip into the pain Rx.  And, Junie, I like Jaybirds suggestion for taking a larger purse.  I know It may not seem as elegant, but a girl needs things....and that's what purses are for!  Hehe!  I'll be back later...want to see who shows up.  Lori, power up the PC tonight and come on back.  XXOO  HunkyD

Ok Dee...I will trust you on this drink.  Please have someone on standby to pull my face off of the table.  No swimming for me, so I know I won't dwrown.  I will have a bite to eat, and then be ready.  I am currently working on a way to lift my expander off my ribcage.  Peace...HunkyD

You poor gals, HunkyD and Dee...there really IS a light at the end of the tunnel! This month is 1 yr since my implant exch surgery.....and seems like such a distant, foggy memory. Just hang in there...I was lucky as my dr just put in a few cc's at a time, so no pain, just horrible pressure. I think I had about 650cc(?)...like I said...a foggy memory..lol. Still weird to have about 1/2 of ea side numb, but soooooo nice not to wear a bra...YAY for that! Just have the 3D tatts to go...have to find time for that. STILL have to catch up on all the posts. HunkyD....that was HILARIOUS about the photoshop pic you did of me!! Really had me ROFLMAO!!! Thanks for making it a fun birthday (although I didn't get to see it till recently!). Will catch up later. Had Pau Hana time, so now to rustle up some grub....

    ChEARS,

Wahine..so glad you are not angry about the photoshop pic....makes me feel better.  Also thanks for the encouragement to get through this reconstruction.  It has been more of a battle than I thought it would be.  I know Dee has a little bit more to go before her exchange...we will celebrate twice.  My surgery is going to be more involved than just exchange.  He is doing shaping on the tram side, repositioning flap area, lipo, etc..and then the nipples.  I know I am going to be hurting a bit.  I think the lipo will cause me some pain.  I dont have a lot of fat but I know the tram flap is going to get some extensive revision as well as dog ears on the ends of my abdominal incision.  All in a days work for the PS.  He seems to know what he is doing.  We will see.  Ok, enough cry babying from me...I am going to chow down and then come back for my medicine.  HunkyD

do need a happy hour drink just now, or two or three.....LOL at the bigger purse--not another one after the bucks I paid to get the perfect go-with purse for dress and shoes-----hoping to be able to post a pic in a couple weeks.   and, I have to laugh at the thought of me popping the top on a cold ML.. just as they say "I do"...seriously, I'm going to have a hard time keeping a straight face throughout it all.....there is some back-up plan for bad weather, but I for sure don't want to be around if that happens....

rained most of the day.........doh.........Hunky--how did dinner go?  Most all our companies bring their furry friends and sometimes, I'd rather have them for guests than anyone else.

You "exchange" ladies have me in awe--I thought chemo was bad, but, wow--think we've all had a hard row to hoe....

Jaybird--I love your wine recommendations--would love to sample all that you mention.   I love wine, but it sure doesn't like me back....

Jocks and Pants are conferring on the buffet for tomorrow night's "big hugs to everybody party."  They are hoping for more poetry and pool pictures......

you guys are the greatest-------big hugggssssss......

Kathy, welcome home girl! We are all so glad to see you back at the HTL. Sorry about the jet lag, you will get there!

Good grief Hunky, that is sure alot to go through! You and Dee, I am sure, will be so glad when it's all over. And see, I told you Kathy would not be mad about the picture! Hope dinner was fun with your son. We are doing steak tonight. As for turning the puter on in the evening, on the weekends I am pretty much doing stuff until almost time to go to bed. Which, you all know, I go to bed early. I think last night, I was so whooped, went to bed before 7 and slept til 5!

Junie, that would be so funny to pop a top at "I do" time. LOL

Hunky, I hope you didn't end up face down on the table. I'll have Jocks set a pillow there, in case you do. And maybe seat belt you in your chair! Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!!!!

My brother has to travel to Mexico today for work. On his way home, next Friday, he had a layover in PHX. Had him change his flight, to stay over and fly out on Sat. So I am driving down there to see him. Haven't seen him in a year, so it is worth the drive, 4 hrs each way, to spend just a little time together. I think he flies out Sat around noon. None the less, I am so excited to get to see him!

Think I will start setting clothes out for HI. It coming fast! I went Friday and had my hair trimmed and thinned. When the girl styled it, she used a flat iron to straighten it. Darrell really liked it, kept commenting on it and saying how "hot" I looked. Well later, I said something, I don't remember what it was, but it was in reference to the fact that it won't be like this tomorrow. And he says "you mean it's not going to stay like that?" He thought I was done with the curls. Don't I wish!!!!

Probably won't be back on til tomorrow morn. So until then....everyone have a great day!

Love ya's bunches and welcome home again Kathy.

Kathy, the pictures worked if you copied and pasted the link.....like Hunky said. It just didn't work when you clicked on it. The link I put below is the "direct link". The picture itself is instructions on how to do the actual photos. I had posted that for someone on another thread

    http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii319/goldie0827/3.jpg

You can also click on the picture in photo bucket, to the full size, then right click on it, copy and paste it in, this way you do not have to use those links they provide or the little green tree.

    Happy Monday girls,

Hope everyone has a great week. Junie get out and git urself a keyboard, and Kathy has to provide pictures!

    Hugs Lori

I am waiting for pics to pop up also.  Just have to get another bucket of CL.  I am so happy that this month is nearly over.  I really hate to share this much information with ya all, but I slept with a sock monkey strapped under my left boob (expander) last night to keep it pushed up off my ribcage.  The little critter worked pretty good along with half a pain pill.  If my husband tells my PS about this he is in some super ass heat!  LOL.  Hunky, and her monkey
