Does anybody know of a way to close down the "Breaking News" window thingy?  It really bothers me when I can't read a post or see a photo b/c that thing is in the way.

Loved the pics today! Lori, the Sock Monkey was perfect! And HunkyD, yeah...what can I say...I was trying to brown nose Santa...caught in the act!  A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do, right? What a neat pic!!! Native, I don't have that box in the way of my pics...just a small box on the side, so not sure how you can get rid of it. Have a few more drinks and it won't bother you at all...LOL.

Cheers to all, and to all a Good Night!

    Kathy

P.S. Did anyone else watch Charlie Gibson's final newscast tonight...boy was his signoff very moving, and then the goodbyes from all the living presidents, etc....IMPRESSIVE! He will be missed, by me, also!

    wahine,

Yes, I want to go have a drink or several drinks, by the pool!  I wish is wasn't so cold here...  but it's raining, and raining is STILL better than SNOW...    Just looking at those gorgeous hunks, Jocks and Pants will make my worries melt away...  :D

    NativeMainer,

I had a case manager after my bilateral mast., but after a year, they decided that 'I don't need a case manager anymore'.   The 1st case manager, Monica, was VERY GOOD.  But after she left, I was re assigned to a couple of others, and they just didn't really do anything.  So, now I am on my own again.

It will be alright...  I have learned to just try the path of least resistance.  When I find that my drs. offices aren't cooperating, I just try to switch the facility.  Sometimes that helps.

    Now for another drink!!!

Oh and I also forgot to say what a great cheer that was Kathy.

Leaving Monday for Laughling, staying the nite there and heading to San Diego Tues morning, to visit the grand kids, coming home Xmas eve day. I am so tired of running, but I think this is it until February, we have a trade show in Vegas to go to then and will have at least one trip to Phx to the doctor in Jan.

Hope everyone is having a great week end. I got a call on my blood work and mammo, all is good. Will see the doc first part of the year to find out about the bone density. I am not worried about that one.

The Chambord was on sale but a splurge nonetheless.

Isn't Santa getting hot by the fire? Maybe Jocks or Pants will be Santa and then have to strip down by the fire?  :) (no nekkid fat Santa pics please)

Had a decent Merlot last night. He decanted it which was nice. Not a fan of Merlot but this one was drinkable. The 'date' went well, as planned.  ;)  He's definitely more suave (does anyone use that word anymore?) than the Scotsman!

Am staying in/home today. Got about 2-3" of snow last night and it's cold and dreary out. Planning to bake some chocolate chip/walnut cookies today - yum!

Working on next month's schedule. So far I have 3 Moscow trips plus a week of vacation!

Hope everyone is safe this weekend - what the hell is happening on the east coast? Glad I'm home and not working or trying to get to/from work (NY)!

    Cheers!

She may end up doing her own mast. if she's not careful! My gawd, what was this woman thinking???? I know.....she wasn't!

ROTFLMAO!   Tell me, why is she wearing a helmet?  There's nothing there to protect!

jaybird--I love a good merlot, that's probably my favorite type of wine.  Glad you could enjoy yours and the date. Chambord is a wonderful splurge--good for you!  Right now in Maine it's sunny and cold, little bit of a breeze, no sign of snow.  I just got done baking cookies--ginger snaps, oatmeal raisin, and peanut butter.  Going to send them to a friend's son who's stationed in Iraq.

goldie--Yeah for the good news!  Nothing like good news to make a weekend relaxing.

harley--don't you just love the way insurance companies know what do or don't "need" ?  Nothing like making the victim do all the work.

I'm feeling pretty mellow today, going to enjoy it as long as possible!

Well, at least the nekkid sledder is wearing appropriate jewelry for the occasion...

Hi everyone!  Is there a pool float avaiable? Sorry I've been mia for a while, trying to get all of Christmas done since I started driving again. Have had 3 fills so far and am relatively pleased with how the new girls are looking. One bonus (I think) is that I'm down 16 pounds since bilat mast in Nov - just hope it's not some other invader in my body, ya know? But, I figure the smaller my so-called waistline looks, the larger the girls will look (so I won't have to have so many fills!!!) I can keep dreaming, I guess...

Hello Dee!! Nice to see you! I've been catching up on posts, and am SO happy to hear you're home & doing well!! Certainly hope those drains are out soon!

Hope everyone is doing well after your respective trips, procedures, surgeries, fights with ins co's, and family gatherings!! I've missed you all, and am so happy to be sipping a TylenOlivetini watching the boys fill the fountains. It's nice to relax for a change.

    Here's to you!   xo, E

    goldie,

LOVE that pic!!  Glad your test came out all clear... yes, a bone density is really no big deal.  I am having one on Tuesday.  Even though it's no big deal, I'm a little nervous, since I had one many years ago, which showed that I have very low bone density.  and NO I didn't do anything about it, because it was when Fossamax 1st came out, and I just didn't want to take a NEW drug.  I still don't want to have to take any of those bisphosphonates...

    Native Mainer,

Yeah, well, what can you do...   I guess I'm lucky, because that case manager really helped me out when I was dx'd and getting the 'active tx' part of my cancer treatment.  Now, I just try to get referrals for EVERYTHING, but sometimes I can't.

    Happy Holidays, everyone!!   Drink up!

grakenmom--there's ALWAYS a pool float available here!  I've got some multi-grain rolls in the oven baking, they smell soooo good and they're almost ready--anybody want some?  I think I whip up some garlic butter to go with them.  They're going to go great with the lasagna, too (it's one I froze last summer and thawed and cooked today).  Is it totally crass to drink raspberry martinis with lasagna?

Harley--you just reminded me that I have to get a referral for the BS I'm going to see in Boston next month.  I'm making a note for myself for Monday--

How many rings is that crazy woman wearing, anyway?  And why? All that jewelry and no clothes?  Weird. Funny, but weird.

That IS a bizarre woman, sledding on the frozen snow with no clothes on!!  :D

Hi gals!  Sorry - I posted how I was doing on the Reconstruction section, but not here!  I am doing fine.  No complications - keep your fingers crossed.  Yes, I painted my toes the morning of my surgery.  Then, they put the tights on my legs and socks, so no one got to see my pink toes.  That was okay though.  I didn't do the best job (kind of nervous I guess).

I had to laugh because when the pre-op nurse was doing the questionare, he asked if I had anything wrong with my ears or my hearing.  My response was "What?....  haha!  just kidding, nothing's wrong with my ears"   He never had a patient respond with that one before!  LOL!!!

And then my PS has me laying on the operating table, they're strapping down my arms and the anesthesiologist is injecting stuff into the IV and the PS says, "So, do you want me to put in 550 cc's or try for the 600's?"  I said to him, "You want me to make a decision like that while I'm all doped up???"  He got kind of frustrated with me (which was kind of funny to see).  He put in the 550's because the 600's were sitting to high on me.  I'm fine with my size.  My husband would have liked him to go bigger - ok whatever!!!

So, I had my 1st glass of wine post surgery tonight.  Yeah!!!  We went to a friend's Christmas party.  My husband thought I wasn't going to drink and he had a designate driver.  Well, we were there for a while so I told him I'd drive home.  It was nice to get out of the house!!!

Well, I'm glad to be back and cheers and Happy Holidays to everyone!!  :)

A man walks into a pub and says, “Give me three pints of Guinness, please.”
So the bartender brings him three pints and the man proceeds to alternately sip one, then the other, then the third until they’re gone.
He then orders three more and the bartender says, “Sir, I know you like them cold, so you can start with one and I’ll bring you a fresh one as soon as you’re low.”
The man says, “You don’t understand. I have two brothers, one in Australia and one in the States. We made a vow to each other that every Saturday night we’d still drink together. So right now, my brothers have three Guinness Stouts too and we’re drinking together.”
The bartender thinks it’s a wonderful tradition and every week he sets up the guy’s three beers as soon as he enters in the bar. Then one week, the man comes in and orders only two. He drinks them, then orders two more. The bartender sadly says, “Knowing your tradition, I’d just like to just say that I’m sorry that one of your brothers died.”
The man replies, “Oh, my brothers are fine – I just quit drinking.”

Jaybird, I just never know where you are! Sounds like you are home? Glad to hear you had a decent date finally! Was it abroad or home? Whats going on with the re-model? I'll bet Avery is getting excited about Xmas!

Mmmmm NM, the lasagna and rolls were delish! Think I'll snag some of Jaybirds cookies for desert!

E, good to hear you are still doing well. I wish I could lose 19 lbs, but we def don't want it because of some other issue. I hope you are able to keep it off.

Harley, I too was one that wrote everything down. I would actually do in on my computer in word and save it, that way if I thought of something, I could pull it up and add it. Then print it off to take with me! Seemed I always had something to ask someone, and I would for sure forget something if I didn't have it in front me.

Kitty, welcome back and thank for checking in. We all saw those pretty pink toes, in fact I was comparing the color to mine.....pretty close! Now don't you and Dee be fighting over at the percotini fountain!

Dee....LMAO.....I'm liking his concept! Too funny. Reminds me of the time when I was grocery shopping, my daughter (little at the time) was with me. They had chips on sale, bogo free. She came back with one bag. I asked her why she only got one. She said we would just take the FREE one!

Big CHEERS to everyone, heading out in the morning.

    Goldie,

LOL   Like your daughter's theory... I would just take the FREE bag of chips, too!!  :D

My memory is terrible!  If I don't write it down, I'll forget...   I just went grocery shopping and I hope I got everything I needed...  My dh writes the list, so he usually leaves off the things that I use, but he doesn't...  I TRY to remember ALL of the things that he uses...

Do pink toenails still look pink when you look at them through a glass of red wine?

NM, pink toenails look ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS thru a glass of red wine! Enjoy!

Have found a decent Medoc at the local chain liquor store. I'm SO into my French reds again but have a hard time buying the U.S. prices when I can get them overseas for about half the price. This wine is $12 so not bad but not great. I find I don't get headaches with the French reds as often as I do with California reds. Hmmmmmm...... I have a Brussels layover in January so will try to bring back a bottle or two if I find something at a decent price. The dollar doesn't go very far in Europe!

I'm hoping I don't have to work New Year's Eve and will have some champagne and Chambord if I'm home!

    Cheers!

Lets all put out heads together and come up with a theme for the party.  I'm off to run a few errands, wish me luck in the masses :)

Kittycat, I think French wines (European wine in general?) have less sulfites, at least they're not 'added' as in many/most U.S. wines. Sulfites naturally occur so there's no getting around them. Try to find an organic wine or at least a U.S. wine that states "no added sulfites." You can find them at the bigger chain stores or at Whole Foods. :)

I may be celebrating my remodel being over. Or maybe not. The tub repair guy came today and said he could TRY to make it look better but maybe/probably not. The contractor already paid him over $300 so they left deciding not to do the work. I now wait to hear back from my contractor, or not. He may sue me for the tub cost, I don't know. I let him walk away from not finishing the job completely so if he does sue me I'll hit him back for what it costs me to have the job finished. Tit for tat, right?

In the mean time I'll be enjoying the libation of my choice!  :)

Cheers and save travels to all this holiday week!

    Hi Drinkin Buds~

Lori - OMG!  That pic is too funny!  Thank God she's wearing a helmet for protection lol  I guess you have already hit the road for San Diego.  Have a safe trip!  CONGRATS on the "all clear" on the blood work and mammo WooHoo!

Junie - that is so NOT FAIR that you don't get a treat when you're with Bob at the licka sto.  I'd ask for a dog biscuit anyway lol

Mark and I are heading out tomorrow afternoon for the Ft. Worth area to spend Christmas with his family, which I love!  His mom is a HOOT and quite spry at age 75.  And I don't care what's going on - at 5:00 sharp everyday, she makes a highball.  She says it's what has keep her in such good health all these years.  Who am I to argue?  I think she's on to something!

We'll end up in Hot Springs AR on NYE for a party at the historic Arlington Hotel, and do the hot springs spa thing on NY Day.  We're meeting another couple there so looking forward to partying then relaxing.  Don't know where we'll wind up between 12/26 and 12/31 though.  I think we're just going to head out and try to avoid the winter storms.

Since I won't be around to celebrate NYE with you gals, here is a toast (let's start earlly).  As far as resolutions go - I am going to stick with the same one I've made for several years now.  My resolutions is  "I AM NOT GOING TO STAB ANYBODY THIS YEAR".  I like to pick a resolution I can stick with and that one has worked out well for me so I'm doing it again this year!  All those other years when I'd make resolutions to lose weight, get organized, etc...never came to pass.

So - Safe Travels, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year my friends!!!

    Cheers,

    Donna

Donna--I'm with you.  My ongoing New Year's resolution is to stop making New Year's resolutions!

Jaybird, champange and Charmbord--sounds wicked good and yummy!
