    Good morning, ladies!

Had a pretty good sleep two nights in a row! I'm not sure how I feel...maybe a little nip of the fountain of the day will help decide (I love 2 for 1 day)!

I am so glad the tornado didn't do worse damage! I was in Ontario when 3 struck and the damage was incredible - and sporadic!

NM - I can imagine how you feel. When I was finally able to put the chemo behind me I started the PS search - I had no idea it was so hard to find a good Dr in the US - and then we had to wait 6 months for the appointment! Now that it's less than a month away, I'm terrified that something is going to happen to make it be cancelled or postponed!

Ok, onward to be productive and hopefully find a good GP today. I've struck out twice (one isn't taking patients, the other one moved) so hopefully will have better luck today!

    Cheers!

I hope everyone is safe! I can certainly provide airsick bags, whenever needed. Also, mini liquor bottles - they travel so well on one's pocket!

I'm freezing my ass off in Moscow. Staying warm with a Stella Artois. I'm really ready for summer weather, and refreshing summer cocktails!

    Cheers!

NM, It is very normal to feel so anxious and stressed out when you KNOW the surgery is a "done deal". Previously you knew it would happen, but actually waiting for the date can cause stress....glad you are letting the TT's help you to de-stress with some VERY STRONG drinks! Soon you will feel mellow.......... Let us know when it will be, so we can be thinking of you. But I have to warn you, you WILL need to remind us as the date gets closer, cause I know, for me at least, my brain ain't what it used to be...LOL.

Connie, Glad you are still with us here! Remind us again of your surgery date too!

Jaybird, do stay warm in Moscow....bet it REALLY is cold there...brrrrrrrrrr.

Alpal, I did not get to welcome you to our group, please join us again....lots of fun here! Funny how you knew the EverClear answer!!!!

So many pics in the paper and on the news. Two streets were very devastated.....and the 60ft+ trees that fell on homes....wow...they stood by the roots of one...over 12ft. dia! Said just getting one tree cut off the house is about $14k...not counting the repairs to the houses and roofs, etc. But some nice volunteer church groups are helping too..with chain saws, etc...soooooo nice when the goodness of people comes out in disasters. DD and family still without power, but most of the damage was on 2 streets on both sides of her....they narrowly escaped that one!! No fatalities, yay for that!!

Cheers to No Stress, No Tornado Mess, & MORE Liquor, Not Less!

Good Sunday morning to all!  Dee, is that a mouse with a top hat sitting on the moon?  Is there a message in there somewhere?  You sure do know how to make an entrance, girl!

The waiting-for-the-date jitters have morphed into working-off-the-nervous-energy type jitters.  Getting lots of house work done, got  friends coming over next Saturday to help me declutter and clean out the sun porch so it will be usable during recovery time.  Bonus--it will be usable this winter too, it's south facing so on sunny days it heats the whole house!  Used to love to sit out there and read.  All I have to do is provide homemade lasagna and garlic bread.   I even got a bunch of shoveling done that I'd been putting of--I hate shoveling.  Went to see Legion yesterday afternoon, and fell asleep in the middle of the movie!  What I saw of it looked interesting, I guess I'll have to go again and see all of it!  I actually slept pretty well last night, too.  Only got up twice, once to let the dog out and once for a hot flash.

I'm getting stuff done, wahine's family is safe and unharmed (if unpowered), jaybird has antifreeze to imbible to fight the Moscow cold, Connie's on a mission, dee is, well, here. A hot air baloon ride and buffet breakfast is in process.  Sounds like time to celebrate!  Pants, Jocks, impromptu partay time!  I'd like something coffee based, please.  You already know what the others like. Maybe something new for us to try?  Thanks, boys!  I'll be in the pool having a swim.

LOL Dee...Sangria sounds good.....and a "winederful day" to you too!!! I was LOST yesterday without a drink of the day....just couldn't decide so I tried them ALL. Think I'll wait and have sangrias this evening...maybe go to the mimosa fountain right now and enjoy the scrumptious buffet Pants and Jocks have for us....might enjoy a coffee drink with NM also....nice relaxing Sunday at the HTL! I hear a lot of noise in the casino area....sounds like someone has hit the jackpot...junie are you in there???

NM, Good plan to have friends over and help you declutter! And how nice it will be to use your sunroom again....all for the cost of making dinner...VERY good plan!!! Dinner sounds yummy!  I'm glad you are using your nervous energy to get things done. I like to keep busy when I am stressed or worried too...and then you have a bonus of getting chores out of the way. Right now though I think I can use your friends to help me "declutter" too....massive undertaking!

Connie and Grakenmom, Don't you both have surgeries coming up in Feb? Please remind me of the dates, I am too lazy to go back and find those posts.

Dee, yeah what does that mouse on the moon symbolize??? I am LOST on that one, but it was cute and got our attention!!! Hope you are feeling well...if not have Pants bring you a strong Hot Toddy...or whatever you think will work!

HD, Jaybird, CAZ, Junie, Lori, Harley, Donna, etc (I know I am leaving SOMEONE out...please forgive me if I am...not intentional), I hope you all are doing well too and will have a "winederful" Sunday! Looks like more storms here...had high winds last night and storms, so I had the puter off.....looks like more of the same today....as long as no tornados show up, we should be fine!!!

To all you Wunnerful, Winederful, Wacky, Wicked Wahines!!!

Gawd - finally home! I definitely need some sangria this Sunday! Tried to get home yesterday afternoon but plane had mechanical after take-off then a delay to find/get on another plane so got home way late after being up for about 24 hours. Gotta love my glamorous job! I think I can relax tonight with some wine. Happy Sangria Sunday to all! Cheers!

    Good morning!

After having two relatively warm and sunny days, we're back to rain. I guess it is still winter.

My surgeries are Feb 16. I go for one of the two pre-op appointments on Monday. Still haven't heard from the other surgeon's office on when the other appointment will be. Don't they realize that we need time to get ready? It's the unknown that's freaking me out the most!

Having company today but no sangrias for us...so I'll just have a litte bit here before I continue cooking and cleaning!

    Ciao for niao!

Mai Tai Monday sounds good,NM! Thanks for filling in for Dee. Remember gals these are VERY potent if made correctly, so drink them S L O W. Maybe we should save those little umbrellas for when someone gets their nips made...I remember they came in handy a few months back!

Connie, I love that "Ciao niao"...cute!

Mahvelous Mai Tai Monday to all,

Popping in for a Mai Tai.........Mmmm YUM thanks NM! Maybe we need to give you a job, to help keep them jitters away!

Dee..........what ever that little spam monster is.........you MUST keep IT on a leash! As cute as you think he is.

All you girls having surgery, best reminder for me is a week before. Please be sure we know about it, so we can be there!

Jaybird, hope you've been able to warm up. It was 2 degrees here this morning with the windchill.

Well, we headed to town yesterday morning...EARLY...needed to leave while the ground was still froze and get back while it was still froze. So we got out of here around 6am, get to town at 7am, do our shopping, going through the check out....beer won't ring up! Well, usually go shopping on Fridays............not Sunday. NO ALCOHOL SALES BEFORE 10AM!

    ciao for niao..........love it Connie

Oh Dee - I love sangria!!!  I make a mean batch - enough to make some people go DOWN at parties!  I have quite the reputation of sangria making!  I get buzzed just making it!  :)

Happy Monday to all - I shared some red wine with my hubby tonight!  MM MM Good!!!  :)

What The Hell (Wednesday) (also applies to Dee's little pet)

    Drink Type:

    Ingredients

    1 oz. Apricot Brandy
    1 oz. Dry Vermouth
    1 oz. Gin
    dash(es) Lemon Juice

Suppose to go to Phx tomorrow, have tickets to see River Dance. Weather might keep us from going. We can get there 2 different ways. Going through Forest Lakes, they got 6' of snow. Or going through the Salt River Canyon, there's rock slides there! Will have to see if there are road closures! Crossing my fingers!

    Happy Hump Day

Maybe I can get Pants to bring me a large "WTH" drink!!! I won't even care what he puts in it as long as it is potent!!!

    See ya' around the pool,

    Hi drinkin' Buds~

Welcome to all the new drinking Buds! Pull up a barstool and enjoy!

Junie - yes, I remember Kimmytoo and her crazy avatar of a face painted on the back of her bald head.  She was always insightful and fun, and it's so very sad to hear of yet another sister facing the end of her journey.

Avatar is one of the most awesome movies I have ever seen!  It is unlike anything you have seen before!!  I am not a big science fiction fan, but Avatar is a visual feast!  Didn't see it on IMAX, as it was sold out for the entire day, but did see it in 3D.  I highly recommend it - but be sure and see it in 3D. I want to see it again.

Lori - so glad your Dr appts went well.  You've never had a shot of tequilla or vodka?  Girl - you've got some catching up to do lol

As far as hot flashes, my Dr prescribed clonidine, and it's been a lifesaver!  I still have flashes, but they are much less severe and less frequent.  AND it's one of the $4 generic drugs too so it's cheap!

I've been "out" for a while.  My back was all jacked up, so bad I didn't even want to drink!!! Surprised According to xray, arthritis in my spine!  WTF!  I am way too young for that lol  Anywho - my back is much, much better but now I have a strange pain in my right side.  Guess I'm just going to hell in a hand basket....

They're predicting a winter storm here Thurs.....Junie - I hear it's coming your way too dammit so be sure and stock up on ML!!

Guess I should get off here and get dressed. (other than sweat pants)  I'm meeting a friend tonight for Mexican and margs YUM!!!

    Hope everyone stays warm....

    Cheers ~

Well....well......I wanted to see if you all were paying attention! WHAT THE HELL!

I am going out with Donna, maybe have my first shot of Tequilia! Perhaps it will help with those pains. I seem to have the same ones as you Donna! But the one in the right side, they dont know whats wrong! ....and I am on clonadine too!

See ya all tomorrow...........DO YOU KNOW WHAT DAY IT WILL BE?????

Hugggsss, Donna--good to see you checking in.   Sorry about the aches and pains--you gotta get that back straightened out--no fun hauling a scuba tank on an aching back!!!    We're heading down to one of your fav spots in a couple of weeks.   Leaving the sweats at home, but will for sure be having some margs!!!    We're staying in Playa, close to the ferry dock to Cozumel and Senor Frogs!!!   Hope this friggn' winter storm doesn't mess up our plans!   We did the likker store run today; tomorrow will be grocery stock-up--then wait and see what happens!!!!    Wahine, right now, doesn't look like you are in the path!!

I got the greatest e-mail the other day......."After Monday and Tuesday, even the calendar says  W  T  F"

Grabbing my bucket and seeing who's in the pool.

I love that analogy junie....soooooo correct about W T F following Mon and Tues! Dee, WTF (couldn't resist!) are we supposed to be drinking today? I am thirsty but will wait to see what you come up with.

Donna, what are you doing about your back? Any meds for that? I have degenerative discs, so take a mobic every day for inflammation, and try to get in for a caudal epidural...but now its been over a year since my last one, and I sure am feeling the pain! The steroid shot helps a lot though, so I need to make an appt. Donna and Lori, are there any SEs from the clonidine? I remember talking to my dr about that one, but can't remember if he said most people gain 10-15 lbs on it, or what it was he said...for some reason we decided it would not be right for me. If it was the weight gain, since I have gained so much lately, I prob didn't want to risk adding any more. I am so GLAD to hear it is helping with your hot flashes though....that is WUNNERFUL!!!

Everyone, stay safe in those storms that are either there now, or on the way! I think its supposed to get here on Friday, but not nearly as bad as when it hits Donna and junie. Hope you are able to get around safely too, Lori!

    A Votre Sante,

    Kathy

    This is what I need:

    Ingredients
    1 fifth Everclear
    1 fifth Pineapple Vodka
    1 fifth Raspberry Vodka
    2 cans 7 Up
    5 oz Banana
    1 Pineapple
    Lime
    Lemon
    1 bag Oranges
    300 oz Pineapple Juice
1 jar Tropical Punch Kool Aid
    2 lb Strawberries
    1 bag Grapes
    12 Kiwis
    1 block Dry Ice

Cut the fruit up into bite size pieces. Get the biggest size container you can find; an ice chest, or a witch's cauldron. Then pour all the ingredients in and stick tiny umbrellas in the floating fruit. Allow the fruit to soak for several hours or overnight before serving.
