how about drinking?

Too cold again to go out so drinks in my room tonight! And if no one shows up I'll just head down to the bar!
Today was stressful but it's over and now onward to tomorrow. Then I'm all done with this particular training until next February. I have more training in Atlanta later this week but it's not my annual training so it should be a bit less stressful.
Time to par-tay! Cheers!

too bad they don't make jello shots with citricel while you are in hospital....either it would help with the constipation, or you wouldn't care...........

shhhhhh! I'm hiding in Jaybird's room and I don't care where she's headed next, Moscow, London, BF Egypt--I'm going with her!!!! We got the driveway plowed out early this morning,, so we can get out and run errands tomorrow. Happily, that let me receive a few mail orders I'd been worried about. BUT, also some dear friends drove by and could see they could get in and park, so stopped by for an afternoon cocktail. And, before I knew it, hubby and I are hosting SuperBowl party...invitee list grew from 6 names to over 20 in about 5 minutes. The guys were having so much fun planning this.......when they left, hubby asked me if I was okay with all this...well, of course I am--I love a good PARTAY! But, I reminded him that we were leaving on vaca the NEXT morning! Trash would sit in our garage for 2 weeks because of our pick-up schedule....yada, yada, yada! S I G H !!! Hopefully he'll rethink this one in the morning!!! Damn that we have the biggest TV and driveway!!! LOL--better get my mind set to pack and be ready to roll a day or so earlier!!!
Grabbing my bucket and back out to the hot tub! For sure, I need a soothing break for a bit! Where'd that picnic table end up? Oh--ok--way over on the other side of the pool!!
Everyone stay warm......big hugggsssss!!!!

Great idea for the jello shots! Wish I had thought about that.
I love my wine. I just started radiation treatment. my Oncologist surgeon said I could have a glass of wine a night. My Irish husband asked was there any restriction on the size. dr said no. I have the biggest one I could find every night!

Welcome, Jak...my onc was fine with a glass of wine each night...he did draw the line at my having the whole bottle! Pull up a bar stool and chat with us. My rads were so easy compared to the chemo....but I did get yelled out by a nurse because I mentioned that holding a cold can of ML (Miller Lite, my only beer drink) on the boob sure helped the burning feeling--she freaked out! Hope your rads tx go well...we'll hold your hand if need us...don't join me in the hot tub--although you could in cyber world....much else goes on here......best wishes!

Hello all - popping in for something to ease my cold. Was tested for strep yesterday, but apparently it isn't strep yet (but she said I could be incubating it) - oh joy, February's here. Maybe a mimosa or vodka & cranberry - something with Vit C to help me be less achy. And the hot tub sounds like a lovely idea, if someone would just prop up my face when I fall asleep...
Hope everyone is well, dry and staying warm. Cheers to you all, xo, E

maybe you could add some eucalyptus to the hot tub.
watching groundhog day--again...have a sweet vermouth with a twist & a good night all

Junie, if you stow away with Jaybird...make sure you make it home in time for your vacation! And WTF....superbowl party day before you are leaving???? I don't think I would try that one!
E, Junie is in the hot tub with you, I'll sure she'll prop your head up or let you rest it on her shoulder. . . . . better yet, take one of boys in with ya and rest your little head on his shoulder. Hope you feel better soon and it doesn't turn into strep.
Grdns good to see you sticking around. Jak welcome to our lounge!
We finally got out yesterday to go shopping. Good thing, as they are now calling for rain! Next week I am traveling to Michigan for a week. Can't wait! Get to see my son, mom and brothers.
WHERE'S THE REST OF YOU LOUNGE LIZARDS????

Junie, I'm heading down to Atlanta on Thursday - come along if you wish! Not sure how much warmer it will be down there but definitely warmer than Chicago and other northern cities!
So, it's official, I am re-qualified to do my job for another year! Woo-hoo! Time to par-tay! Cheers!

Good morning!!
The first coat of mud has dried and we'll be sanding and playing in the mud again today! The room is actually starting to look like a room! So ready for it to be done, though! And my father-in-law seems to be in a mood and is driving both of us nuts right now.
Ok, drink time! My baby boy is turning 20 tomorrow - I should celebrate somehow!
Jaybird, congrats on the re-qualification! What do you do?

Connie, my friends call me "Super Stew!" (j/k)0

Just dropping in for a minute--third day of getting up an 4 am (oh dark hundred as it's known) and being on my feet for 6 solid hours. To say I am tired is an understatement. I've got an alarm set just in case I fall asleep before it's time to go for my massage. Can't wait to get home after and have a glass of wine, and then go to sleep after turning the alarm off!

Thanks Goldie, I'm ready for a nap - wishing you safe travels! and if someone could put some eucalyptus in the hot tub, that sounds good too! Anything to help my sinuses.
{{Native}} Drive home carefully, and hope you get lots of rest!
Congrats Jaybird - are you buying tonight in honor of your recert??
Stay well and warm, xo, E

grdnslve, the shooters with the citricel sounds like a great idea. I often try a senekot sling after some of my surgeries....LOL! Wow, people mudding, testing, and headed for vacay! Welcome Jakhope, hope you enjoy this loonybin! We do have a good time. E....hope you get to feeling better. Soak up some of the heat. Jaybird...I will take a Coors Light, with a small bag of those wunnerful peanuts....I am trying to diet, but I know there is only 4 or 5 peanuts per bag. Glad you passed your test....I can picture you unboarding your passengers in a hurry for your evening cocktail saying "buh bye" like they did on Saturday Night Live years ago for some reason. If you haven't seen that skit....don't pay any attention to my remark. Not much else to say except "buh bye" HD

I did get home safely after the massage last night. Didn't even get halfway through the glass of wine, gave up and went to bed at 7:30 pm. I actually slept most of the way through the night-only woke up twice! Didn't get up ontil 7 am! I still feel soooooo relaxed. I would love to just float in the pool today, but I've got to go to work and administer a test. Oh, well.
I never saw the SNL skit, bit I remember hearing the "buh bye" think ad nauseum. Couldn't understand it then, still don't. Just can't see the humor. Maybe I need to see the skit?

Native - happy to hear you got some rest! Let's hope you keep getting the sleep you need!
Hey Dee - sounds like we're in for a ton of snow over the next few days - got all your supplies??
Is there a petition to sign to get jello shots included in hospital meals? I am SO signing it, maybe twice.
Cheers! xo, E

Hmmm, I wonder how long it takes to get a hospital to change it's menu? I wonder if I have time to get jello shots on the menu at Beth Isreal Deaconess before my recon? Might be a good project for me!
I just got done with a Wii workout, and now my back hurts, really bad, right where my massage therapist asked me if I had back pain. Not sure if whe noticed something before I did, or if she planted the idea in my mind! Actually, now that I think about it, I have been having aches and pains there after being especially active, been chalking it up to being out of shape. Probably ANOTHER effect of being out of balance, boob-wise. Maybe a glass of wine will help. . .

NM....be careful and don't over do it. I am planning on building a jello shooter igloo, moving in, and eating my way out! Evening to ya all....Buh Bye! HD

HD - LOL! Yup - I'm in Hotlanta (okay, not so hot but better rain than snow) for MORE training ( no tests though - phew!) and it's a par-tay! I'm tired (up at 4 this a.m.) so very tired and a bit drunk! Good thing I'm not driving - do I even remember my room number??? (j/k) Oh, and BTW, peanuts are full of fat! Try the pretzels next time!
NM, if you have to ask then you probably don't know the 'joke'. Sorry! So unless you fly a lot or are in the industrythen I guess you wouldn't find the humor.
Gawd - I love my job. Cheers!

Oh, HD - a jello igloo??? You won't stay very warm but if you're drunk enough you'll never know! LOL! (j/k)

Hi gals, That SNL skit was sooooooo funny...been years since I have seen it, but who can forget "Buh Bye"! Jaybird, we are almost next door...j/k, but right now you are about a 3 1/2-4 hr drive from me, and yes I am getting all that rain too! Since DL is big in this area, almost anywhere we fly, we have to go thru ATL...no matter which direction we're headed...so the joke here is that to get to heaven, you have to go thru ATL! So glad you passed with flying (literally) colors!!! Cheers!
NM, Sorry to hear about your back pain...I have that too, and am about a yr overdue for a caudal epidural (steroid) injection. I take mobic every day, and take a pain pill if I really overdo (like recently). Wonder how the masseuse could tell you had pain there?
These jello shots are getting to have a mind of their own...I think they are taking over our minds. HD...a jello shot igloo...hilarious!!! Now I want to try one for real...or several...or an igloo....
Hope everyone is doing well, and won't be affected by any storms. Esp junie,so she can leave for her vaca! Stay safe, warm, and inebriated everyone..j/k....but do stay safe.
ChEARS Big Ears,
kath

Salutations to all my HTL peeps !

Junie I just bought a crap load of ML so come on over! Happy happy joy joy to Jaybird for keeping the skies friendly/schnockered another year, and NM for getting her porch back in working condition. Connie hope your room turns out to be great, it sure is alot of work but you will get lots of enjoyment from it soon. Erika(the other one)..lol Batten down the hatches! We are supposed to get hit with some crazy storm..I have all my supplies, I went to Wally world last night :0) To anyone I missed a great big hello! Everyone jello shooters at my house later, come on over!
Watch it wiggle, see it jiggle- yay jello!

hunky--I like the igloo idea! Like Jaybird said won't keep you warm, but with all that 'antifreeze' circulating in your system you won't freeze AND you won't care!
jaybird--hope you found your room ok, and hope you aren't hungover this am! I've heard that drinking lots of water before going to bed helps minimize the hangover headache the next day.
wahine-the massuese asked if that part of my back was tender during the back part of the massage, said it felt tight, and then she said she felt tension in the area on my foot that correspondes with the low back (she's also a relfexologist). It's funny how she pinpointed the exact spot! Generally I don't mind feeling sore after a workout, but this business of having actual, moderate level pain after almost any activity is really starting to get on my nerves. I'm trying to get more active, want to loose a bit of weight before recon (down from 'obese' to just 'overweight') and get some better core muscle tone. It's discouraging to pay for each attempt to get more active with pain. I see my PCP later this month, going to ask about all this back pain and admit that I'm afraid it's a sign of bone mets, on the other hand, I don't want to know until AFTER recon for fear they'll cancel recon if I find out it's not just muscle strain.
Sorry to start whining on a lovely, sunny Friday. TGIF! How about

NM - is that your photo?? You DO look fabulous! And dressed appropriately for HD's igloo. Sorry to hear you're in pain, hope it's from exercise (that doesn't sound very good, but what I mean to say is that I hope the pain is ONLY from exercise & not anything else). I get awful spasms in my right shoulder which normally the chiro can work out, but I haven't seen him in forever, and my current one feels like a spike through my back.
HD, just curious, will you be building the igloo at the HTL? It just sounds like too much fun. Probably hadn't ought to put it too close to the fire pit or torches, but closer to the bathrooms!
Dee - I guess we'll see about the snow, huh? As much as I love snow, I could really do without 6-8 inches of it now.
Stay warm & well, cheers! xo, E

Dee and E, Sure does look like a big storm heading your way...good to have advance warning so you can be stocked up with milk, beer, bread, beer, eggs, beer....and hope you can just stay inside when it hits, and be toasty warm. PLEASE be careful if you have to go out in it, and E, hope you don't have to shovel snow with that sore shoulder. Let us know how you gals are, and we will be hoping you will ride out the storm just fine, and esp hope you don't lose power!
NM, Have you also considered it might be degenerative discs or some other disc prob causing your lower back pain? There are SO many things besides mets that can cause that pain...try to be careful and not overdo (I wish I would take my own advice..LOL). Many of us are trying to lose weight right now, and I just started the "Flat Belly Diet"...written by the editors of Prevention mag. IT makes sense, but the hard part is the 4 day "jumpstart"...but it does work...after just 2 days I already dropped 4 lbs. Prob water weight, but WTH it keeps me motivated! The next 28 days I get so many yummy choices...all 400 cal; you need monounstaurated fatty acids at each meal, so besides adding olives, olive oil, etc., some of the fun choices are CHOCOLATE...yup, 1/4c.choc chips....hows that for motivation!! Prob is we will be at the casinos for 3 days on Val day, and I KNOW I will throw the diet out the window during that time...but I can always "jumpstart" it again. I like your interpretation of TGIF......so......lets all yell it out in unisom..(cause we all are)....
"Thank God I'm Fabulous"!!!!
A Hui Hou,
Kathy

Dee, go fast, pass people and flip em off. Don't forget to stop and get a jar of pickle spears to go with all that Miller Light. LOL! Just kidding, be careful driving. E, I would build the igloo near the bathroom yes...and probably have some of Junies empty buckets handy as well. YES Kathy....thank gawd it is Friday. I have had enough of this working. NM....take it easy...back pain is not good...I have my aches there too. Especially when I over do it. I am on my feet alot at work and can tell. I think the tamoxifen and chemo rotted my bones down to the size of toothpicks and they are trying to carry a lot of mass. That will make your muscles scream with pain.....bring on the drinks! Hi, to Jaybird, and BUH BYE! Later....HD

Dee, PLEEEEESE drive extra-extra careful today!!!!!0

Gonna whine before I grab my bucket of ML and head back to the hot tub. Getting ready to start stuffing suitcases; want to be all packed and ready to roll by tomorrow--will get some prelim cooking done tomorrow afternoon for the Super Bowl Party. Hopefully all will get done and be ready to head out the door on Monday! BUT!!! we got two inches of snow this morning in about a half hour. Only light flurries were forecast so it was a surprise. Then my "girls" who help me keep my house livable called to cancel--there went the clean house and bathrooms for the party. One more chore to squeeze in! A big storm is predicted for Monday; hoping it holds off long enough that we can get to our hotel near the airport. Am starting to stress out!!! Hope all stay safe and warm during this latest round of white misery! ok--taking my bucket and a tray of hello shots with me!!!
hugggggsssssss to ALL!!!!
