    Here's for Lori:Hair Gel

    Ingredients
    1/2 oz Vodka
    1 1/2 oz Blue Curacao
    3 oz Lemonade
    1 package Candy

    Directions
Add the blue curacao, vodka, lemonade and candy (jelly tots) to a blender with crushed ice. Blend until slushy. Pour into an old-fashioned glass, top with a dash of blue curacao, and serve.

NM, please tell me I get to drink this...and not put it on my hair??? Altho if it got rid of the curls....I WOULD!

Trust me, Goldie, you do NOT want lemonade OR blue curacao in your hair! They make hairspray look like you just misted water on your head.  Talk about sticky!  It would get rid of curls. all right, by pull all the hair out at the roots when you tried to get the muck OUT of your hair in the shower!

Well, sort of.  Got lemonade dumped in my hair by my cousin's toddler while out picnicking one day. By the time I got home my hair was, literally, stiff as a board (but smelled lemony fresh!).  I had to sit under the shower for 20 minutes before I could peel my clothes off, and it took a lot longer just to get enough water into my hair to begin to wash out the sugar stickies.  Since blue curacao is just as sticky as lemonade I assume it has the same effect on hair, skin, and clothing, although the alcohol content may make it act differently.  Still, I'm not going to test that theory.  I'll let you do that!

    Hi drinkin buds~

Lori - love your hair!!  It's getting so long!  Love the highlights too. I hope you are able to find a few "fun" moments while you're working in Vegas.

    Happy belated Birthday, NM!

Kathy - Sounds like you had a great time in Vegas.  Good food, good drinks, AND you won!  WOW!

Junie - do you think we'll ever see the sun again?  I am sooo sick of the cold, cloudy weather!  It makes me even more lazy then usual.

Dee - are you a professional insomniac too?  I take pills and still can't sleep half the time.  Hope you sleep well tonight.

Think I'll have a decaf coffee  w/ Irish Cream later. Gotta stay warm in this stinkin' COLD weather!!

    Take care everyone!

    Cheers,

    Donna

Donna, Hope you can stay warm....that drink sounds yummy! No, I wasn't in Vegas, just went to Tunica....good food and drinks though....hard to beat that!

Hope everyone is doing well tonight! My mole scare turned out to be ok, but I won't know the results of my blood work till I see my GP on Thursday. Hope all that good food (that was bad for me!) I ate in Tunica won't skew the results...LOL. Time to watch the Bachelor.....

    Ciao,

    Happy belated b-day NM!

Still no team name yet!  :(  I love some of the ideas.  We started a flyball team a while back and our name was Rockstar Racers.  I thought of using that.  My hubby said we could wear bling and make it fun.  We'll see!  I have to get my team name so I can register and RAISE MONEY!!!

    Cheers everyone!  :)

Kathy, glad about the mole results and I am sure the blood work will be ok too.

You know, the whole time I was in MI, I never saw the sun once. Here it was sunny and 60. The morning I left to come home, the sun came out in MI. I get home, I haven't seen it once, it has snowed and this morning it is 1 degree! WTF

NM, I can't see wasting such a fine drink on my hair, therefore...I shall drink it! Thank You!

Grdnslve, what chemo cocktail are you doing? Remember to drink lots and lots of water, to help flush it through your system. Protein is important too, something like 75 grams a day. If you get tired, REST. If you don't, it WILL catch up with you!

Also, I was wrong about when we are going to Vegas. We will leave Sat. morning. Everyone have a fab day!

Oh Dee, that SUCKS big time!!!! I am sooooo very sorry to hear that. I mean, sheesh, if the darn pothole was going to be there, it could have done that you B4 you replaced the rim!!!! Such is life, sometimes. Many, many good thoughts being sent your way for a Terriffic Tuesday!!!! And I sure hope your tooth didn't get chipped. AARRRGGGHHHHH.....I am frustrated FOR you!!!

FINALLY our new range should get installed today...installer has to cut the cabinet below our current range, since we had a drop-in. I will be glad to be rid of COILS and to gain a drawer....yay!!! Luckily someone wants our range (works great), so it will get a good home. Can't believe I leave for HI a wk from today...haven't even THOUGHT about packing...junie knows how "last minute" I am...LOL.

Lori, I hope this time you will enjoy being in Vegas...maybe even hit a jackpot! I know it is all work, but maybe you can squeeze in a bit of fun too...hope so!!!

Good names, grdnslve! Kitty, hope you will be able to choose one soon and get registered. Lots of good ones to choose from...I mean are our "breast friends" talented, or what!!!

Cheers to a Better day for Dee, Lotsa sun for Lori, and Good healing for E,

    Kathy

Donna, hope you're chillin' in the chilly!  Hope you warm up too Lori.  Dee, sorry about your pothole pisser, and I hope too that you didn't really chip a tooth.  I am at work just dreaming about going to Hawaii with Wahine.  Maybe someday I'll get a vacation.  Wahine, hope your blood turns out ok Thursday.  I am sure it will.  Hope you are doing ok on your chemo Grdn.  I'ts a pain for sure.  The neulasta shot they gave me the next day felt like they shot Sulfuric acid in my bones.  Kitty, hope you raise a lot of money and have a good time whatever name you have.  Junie, hows your daffys doing?  NM, your lemonade story made me chuckle.  I love vodka and lemonade!  Too cold here for that now though.  E, hope you are doing well and Connie too.  Got to get to work....your all paying my salary......LOL!  HD

Just some FYI in case anyone is on tamoxifen (is that how you spell it?). On THE DOCTORS show the other day they said if you are on that and need an antidepressant, do not use paxil, take something else. (edit: I think it was Dr. Rosenthal, on the news show, actually). For some reason that interferes with the tamox, and it won't do its thing. Or better yet, just use likker (IMHO, not the Doctors recommendation...LOL)!!!

Hi ladies - checking in. Surgery went fine, results:  Not so much. I'm trying not to panic, but am VERY disappointed in what I see so far. Really can't write much about it or I'll fall apart, so thank you for all the well-wishes and I'll be back at the bar soon I hope.

Lori - love your photo - love your hair, you're just beautiful!

Dee - man, that sucks about your rim. Yeah, we're on Ohio roads - welcome to pothole city!

Kathy - I did a little research on Tamox and antidepressants - we're not supposed to take Paxil, Zoloft or Prozac, as the way they work interferes with some of the enzymes (I think) that Tamox needs to work. There are other antideps that don't work with the same enzymes and are safe to take with Tamox. I have Wellbutrin, but can't remember names of others - sorry.

Thanks for the pink drinks! love you guys, xo, E

Hi E, Glad surgery had no glitches! Hopefully in time you will be happier with your results, sometimes it takes a couple of months for them to "fluff". If they don't improve, your dr should be able to do some adjustments.....but I'm hoping they will improve on their own!!! Remember to take it easy for awhile. Just hang out at the HTL and let the TT's pamper you...foot massages, etc. We'll have an extra drink for you till you can imbibe along with us. (((HUGS))) for you, and hoping for improvements!

On "The Doctors Show" today, they made a drink I think we need to have...an "Orgasm Smoothie".....actually it just had ingredients that would make you feel better and healthier....which "could" lead to the big O! LOL...that got my attention while on the treadmill...

    Pau Hana Time!

    Hey y'awl,

Glad to hear your doing okay Erika. I totally understand the not being impressed by the new foobs :(  I am not pleased with mine either. I have decided to take the PS and friends advise and give it time. I will re-visit the PS in July and we will go from there. So just try to relax and take some time to heal  before you get to anxious about it. I am going to hell in a hand basket this week, now I am sick on top of the rest of the crapola...WAAAAAAAAAAA!  To heck with the orgasm smoothie K, I want one of those SCREAMING O's..thanks!

E, not sure what to say that hasn't been said already. When I get upset about something, I try to see the good in it, by thinking how things could be worse! For instance my hair. It is so curly and I really hate it. So I think to myself, at least I have hair and I'm not bald anymore...and the very most important --- I AM ALIVE. Hope this helps a little! Hugs to you.

Dee, you poor thang! I know the week end can't get here fast enough for you! Living in MI for 40 yrs, I know about potholes. And I'll have several of those Screaming O's pleeze! Surprised

Kathy, they sure throw some scary shit out there, don't they? Must not be too bad if Junie did it, and look how long she has been NED. I take Arimidex and no AD. My onc said I could take the welbutrin (sp) but it scares me! I have heard they are hard to come off of. Well how did your diet fare? I hope you didn't gain back everything. I can't seem to lose anything. I guess when the weight gain is not by calories, it must be alot harder to come off. 10 lbs, thats all I want! 10 lbs OFF that is!

Dee, Hope you make it through today...and can stay awake too! And girl, quit getting sick....that is an ORDER!!!! LOL....but really, I do hope today is MUCH BETTER than the week has been, so far. At least it is Hump Day....closer to the weekend too!! OMG what a cute pic Lori posted!!!

Lori, I gained 3 pounds from our soiree in Tunica...yikes! But by getting back on the diet, I did lose it. I LOVE this diet...lost 8 lbs the 1st wk, but when I got into the regular plan, it is steady at a little over 6 lbs. I am happy with that....started it 3 wks ago, and ate tons and drank tons for 3 days in Tunica. Of course I will prob gain some back in Hawaii, but then will start the "jump start" again, and resume. If I can lose even 6 lbs/month I will be VERY happy! And I get to choose from yummy things....perfect diet for me. Don't be afraid of Wellbutrin...I was on it for about 10 yrs....got off it last fall....slowly...took 2-3 wks...not a prob at all. Then stress hit again, so I decided to get back on it. Some people lose weight on it....not me though....and some people can take the lower dose...with me it made me more cranky, so I got on the 300 dose (xl), just have to start with the lower dose and ease into the stronger dose if you need it. Lotsa people give up if the lower dose doesn't work, but I think wellbutrin is good. As with any drug, you just get off it slowly, and have no probs.

Whee.....we get to have the g'kids overnight tomorrow night (ages 8 and 5). They are soooo sweet, and our little 5 yo has never spent the night away from home. They don't live far from us, but usually I watch them there, cause we have been busy. They have wanted to come here so badly, they told their mom they wanted her to put them in a box and mail them to us!!!

Ok gals, we need a pic of that "Screaming O".....drink, that is... LOL! I'm sure someone can come up with it...perfect drink for Wednesday, don't ya think? Of if ya can't find the drink......

    Wacky Wednesday to all,

    Kathy

    Morning everyone,

Dee, Glad you were able to make it in to work, although would be nice if you could have stayed home. Please take it easy so you can get well.....don't let those bullies make you work too hard! Esp those obnoxious guys you work with. Many, many wishes being sent that you are better soon!!! I'm heading to the dr soon, and will find out my blood work results. I am so hoping that they have improved from last time (cholesterol esp).

What a nice day to relax by the pool with a mimosa....and a foot massage! No one posted a pic of the "Screaming O", (the drink!) so will just let my imagination run rampant. Think I'll peek in the casino and see if I can find junie there. I agree with Dee, 'WHERE IS EVERYONE"?????

    Tata (or Tatas),

Well, I am here....but barely. Had a rough nite last nite. Besides the hundreds of hot flashes, I had (and still have) a terrible case of HEARTBURN. Grrrrrr. Put some minced garlic in my stir fried chicken, and that must of done it. Usually alfredo sauce will do me in too. Oh well, this too shall pass!

Dee, you should have just stayed home girl! Kathy, good luck at the docs today. I have you a screaming orgasm waiting and a little treat! They looked so yummy! And I think Junie's in the pool.

We are heading to town later today, so we don't have to go tomorrow and Darrell can work on the town. Then heading out Saturday morning. Be back on Tuesday.

I scream, you scream, we all sceam for ORGASMS!

Wahine: tamoxifen itself does nothing-the CYP 2D6 enzyme system in the liver converts it to endoxifen, which is an active anti-estrogen drug. The SSRI antidepressants (Prozac, paxil, Zoloft) tie up the CYP 2D6 system and can significantly decrease the amount of endoxifen that gets made. Those drugs essentially stop or diminish hot flashes by decreasing the effectiveness of tamoxifen. Not necessarily a good trade off. Effexor is the antidepressant of choice for use with tamoxifen.

Grakenmom: {{{{{hugs}}}}} Glad surgery went well.

Dee: oh, man, that is just TOO wallet breaking! You need to start skipping Mondays, I think.

Goldie: have you come to Maine? We haven't seen the sun for several days, and I'm beginning to see a trend with your location and lack of sunshine. . . ;-) As far as coming off antidepressants, there can be side effects but if you come off them gradually, under medical supervision, you would have minimal problems. The medical supervision is the key part-if someone starts having withdrawal symptoms then the dose can be temporarily increased slightly, and more time can be taken between decreases in dosage, it's a very individualized process. Too many people just stop taking them or set up their own arbitrary weaning scheduled and then don't call the doc for help if they run into a difficulty.
