Happy V day!  Happy Birthday Grdnslve!  Happy Party Day.  You girls splashing better not get carried away.  Remember our bouncer loves to do the cannonballs in the pool.  Guess I will sit back and enjoy my Latte and watch the action.  Good cheer Kathy!  HD

No, not fair HD.....(as we toss you in the pool)....you can't just watch the action, gotta be part of it! Well, I'm just passing it along since Dee threw me in the pool...LOL. Now we have a bunch of us gals thrashing around in the pool...looks like we are all pretending we can't swim so Pants or Jocks will rescue us! What a ruckus we are making...might conjure up a rogue wave like the one that hit the shore in CA. We sure are keeping our TT's busy today! Think I'll check out the mimosa fountain......

Happy Birthday Grdnslv!!! Hope you are well and coping.

And Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!  I've heard the boys are baking some dark chocolate brownies in the shape of hearts, so it should be a pretty nice dessert to have around the pool. I'd love a strawberry margarita, please.

    Cheers! xo, E

Happy V-Day! Happy B-Day! Happy Drinking! Laughing

My 'valentines' this year are my daughter and the two dogs. Could be worse, right? I'm happy to be home amongst the craziness - until I get tired of all of it and want to go back to work! Surprised Was in Tel Aviv and thawed out. I relaxed. It's a lovely place to be, hadn't been in about 12 years, and can't wait to go back.

I hope everyone's Valentine wishes come true. Mine is to get a good night's sleep! Cheers!

Happy happy birthday to grdnslv! And Happy Aniv. to Junie. Sorry its late in the day.

We had a great day. My brother had tickets to a rodeo, and we had a private suite. Then went to dinner afterwards.

Am I too late to join you gals for a swim? I have such a funny to tell. My mom has this HUGE black shepard, Zues. He must weigh 115 lbs. He is always bringing her stuff. Well mom wanted me to fix her up with make-up, for the rodeo. So I did her hair, put some make-up on her and she was in getting dressed, when Zues brought her something. She says, what do have, what is that? She picks it up, and the dog had gone into my room, gotten my pink metallic bra out of my suit case, and brought it into my mom. As if to say, you look pretty and this would like nice on you too! It was sooooooo funny.

    Happy Valentines Day.....hope I made ya's smile!

nm--thanks for the beautiful birthday display---i don't know how you folks do that - add stuff, pictures etc...thanks to all of you for letting me vent about yesterday...

the hot tub was relaxing, the swimming pool was fun & i slept like a baby.  sucked it up & called the folks today to wish them happy valentines day.  all is good.  hubby was wonderful today-totally spoiled me, ended up the day with dinner at the casino & some slotplay time too.  fun fun fun.

all the splashing from your cannon balls got the tile wet & i slipped & fell on my butt---well, maybe it wasn't so much the water as those 2 lemondrops  dee slipped me.  i keep telling you girls i can't handle that stuff!!!

hope you all have sweet dreams tonight & someone sweet to kiss goodnight--happy valentines day

Hey, ladies, can I toss Snookie in the pool?  She was "helping" me paint the ugly but sturdy bookcase on the porch yesterday and now she has a blue tipped right ear, a blue blob at the base of her left ear, and a blue streak right up the center of her snout!  Obviously, she needs a bath--but I'm going to wait until after I get the second coat put on today.  I'm sure she'll be even more 'decorated' by the end of the day!

NM, What a character Snookie is! I hope blue is her fav color, since she'll prob be sporting more of it today! Sounds like she is such wonderful company, and will probably lenghthen your life, as she gets you laughing so much. And they do say laughing helps us to live longer....so give her an extra hug today for that...oh, and from me too! My dogs would be sooooo jealous that she gets to be in the house...

Well, our "winter storm warning" turned into maybe 1/2" of snow...LOL. But the lo temps would have caused us to stay home anyway so the dogs can come in the garage at night (yeah NM, shhhh....don't let my dogs hear that Snookie also gets to sleep IN the house!)! So now we plan to be in Tunica Thurs-Sat....and our Val dinner in the steak house will be Friday night. By the time we got home last night with our steaks, it was late....then DH realized BOTH gas tanks for the grill were empty (sheesh!)....so our yummy steaks had to be cooked inside...did have champagne, so that was really nice. What did everyone else do for Val day...anything special???

Well, DH said I am his "First Lady", so I guess Presidents Day is off to a good start. Guess we can drink an "Obama Mama", or "Blinkin Lincoln", or "Beat Around the Bush"....come on gals, help me here!!! Anyway.......

    KissHAPPY PRESIDENT'S DAY!!!Kiss

    Good morning!

Happy belated birthday to grdnslve and a belated Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!!

My hubby and I spent the morning building a table for over our bed to hold my computer and meds and anything else I might be until I'm back up and running! Had a smaller one when I had my mast and it was great! This one is on wheels, so it's even better!

Then I spent a few hours taking my son to the store so he could buy clothes - I could have sworn he turned 20 just a few days ago...and here I am still buying him clothes. Hmmmm. :) It was really nice to have him come down from Vancouver to see me just before I head to the "spa" for a few days.

Speaking of, this will be my last post for about a week. My check-in time is 5:30 tomorrow morning, we'll be leaving the house around 4:30. Good thing I don't need to be awake for any of this! I'll let you ladies know how I'm doing when I can. Thank you all for the good wishes and try not to drink the place dry while I'm gone!

Connie, Will definately be thinking of you tomorrow...heck, we'll probably all be there with you, hidden in your pocket! Please let us know as soon as you can, how you are doing. You will be getting much needed rest, after all the projects you completed! That bed table sounds great! I spent more time in the recliner,as I found it hard to get in/out of bed. To get out, my DH had to push on my back as I tried to roll off the bed...that is, after I got tired of sleeping in the recliner! Hoping for a quick recovery for you! Don't forget that pain meds will be your friend for awhile..... Wishing you the very best!!!!

wahine--Snookie is a VERY furry German Shepherd who PREFERS to sleep outdoors!  She likes to be in the house with me when something is goign on, but at night it's in and out, in and out, in and out, so if I want to get any sleep she goes OUT and stays OUT.  She's got several little hollows dug out under the back deck and a dog house, plus a lawn chair on the deck she lies under or on  depending on her mood, plus a hollowed out spot around the corner of the house for windy days.  And  since helping put the second coat of paint on the bookcase she's got blue tipped whiskers on one side.  She's beginning to look downright odd!

connie--good luck to you, and prayers headed your way!  One of my projects is staining a lap tray to match the rocker and bookcase, found it for $7 in AC Moore and couldn't resist, it will be sooo helpful next summer.  Sounds like your project is even better!  Hope it helps keep you occupied during your recovery!

Connie, Wishing the very best for you today....hope we aren't taking up too much room in the operating room! We'll have more room to spread out when you get into your room, but we HAD to be with you all the way to make sure the drs do a good job!!!

Dee, Hope you get to your appt today...sooooo hard to envision all that snow! Be very careful digging out, don't want you to get that frostbit toe, OR to hurt your back. Our "winter advisory" overnight amounted to about another 1/4". However, they had to close all our elevated roads, plus several other roads as everything was covered with a layer of ice.....and that makes it so dangerous. Hope you get to your onco, and you get an excellent report;let us know what they say!

HD, Hope your onco visit goes extremely well today...and blood work, etc looks very good. Let us know the results, ok. I have my dr visit (not onco) next wk, and blood work done on Monday...which will prob have hi numbers since we'll be gorging on food and drinks in Tunica till Saturday....oh well. Wishing you the best!

Lori, What a cute video...so cute to see our mascot having such fun. Loved it showing him getting a "tattoo", so now he is joining us in that aspect. Did you notice after he got that tattoo, that it wasn't there in subsequent scenes....funny. And I loved seeing him make a snow angel. Glad you're not getting a ton of snow up there...and can't wait to see your new hairstyle!!!  Give Mom a hug from us!

junie, Safe travels today....hope your vacay was fantabulous....can't wait to hear all about it!!! We ARE going to Tunica on Thurs...so had to cancel our new range install, yet again! Hope they can get it in next wk. Two wks from today, I go to Hawaii to spend 10 days with my parents...DH is staying home this time to take care of the dogs. My mom and I talk nonstop and have such fun, that I hope my Dad won't feel left out....he usually has my DH to hang out with. Then a month after I return home, they will come to their townhouse here for 4 wks (dad) and 6 wks (mom).

Whats the drink of the day, gals???

    Love and Hugs,

    Kathy

Connie - sending prayers and all the best wishes for your successful stay at the spa. Hope all goes well, and I'll keep a barstool warm for you.

Dee - we're snowed in too. I just used a shovel to knock off a bunch of 4 foot icicles from the gutter - had to stop, was afraid I'd send either icicles or the shovel through a window, or dent the siding. Kids were already scheduled off school today, but I hope they go tomorrow, as I have an onc appt too. Hope you get to yours ok!!!

Love & cheers to you all, xo, E

    connie---thinking of you today!!!!

saw the onc yesterday & ct is ok--starting chemo tomorrow------wwhhhhoooooshhhhhh

after what--three months of waiting a week here, two weeks there, to get stuff done & two days - starting chemo!!!!   glad though.  tired of waiting.  sadly ran into someone we know at the onc.  an older fella from hubbys legion post who brings his grandsons up here to the house every summer to fish off our dock.  was thinking yesterday how glad i am  he was able to make those memories for the boys.

onc wants me to start taking ginger root for my tummy to help prevent the nausea....so guess the official drink for me now will be ginger beer (?)  so happy hour & toast connie--stay warm everyone..

grdnslve, Wow that sure IS fast....but then less time to dwell on it, so that prob is a good thing. Glad the ct was good. I totally LOVE ginger...hope you like the taste of it! You can get fresh ginger root and grate it into softened vanilla ice cream...really yummy and better than what we can get at the Japanese restaurant. Also grated ginger is good in carrot juice, or when cooking carrots. Also, the pickled ginger like you get alongside sushi is good and can be bought in refrigerated small jars. You can also brew ginger tea, etc. Hope you find a way to eat (or drink) it that you will like. Will be thinking of you for your 1st chemo tomorrow! How many treatments will you have? Wishing you the best....

    Freak Show Recipe

    1 oz Sambuca
    1 pint Guinness Stout

My recommendation for a drink for today, based on the way my day went.  Had an appointment for fasting blood work this morning, almost fainted before the nurse ever touched me,  She had to take me into an exam room to lie down while she took blood.  Then had a cleaning appointment with the dental hygienist, got half way through the cleaning, saw how sharp the end of one of the instruments and had a panic attack. I managed to get through the rest of the cleaning and get myself home, then took 2 xanax and a nap and now I feel totally exhausted and wrung out.  I never used to be like this.  I don't like being like this.  The aftereffects of bc treatment SUCKS. And now I'm whining, and I don't like to be whiny.

I'm typing this AROUND Snookie, the 85 pound lap dog who is currently draped over my lap and both arms of the recliner with her blue painted snout on my shoulder. Gotta love doggy love!

Oh NM, I am SOOOOOO sorry you had such a terribly rotten day. Panic attacks are not fun, and it must've been hard to continue with the dental cleaning. Poor baby, you can whine all you want....no prob here. Get BIG HUGE hugs from Snookie, and a few of those "Freak Show" drinks, and then you won't have a care in the world. Oh, and I called Jocks over to give you a fantastic massage....so turn over and let him do your back...then you can drink some more when he's done! Anything else that might help, just ask.....     And a big (((HUG))) from me to you.

Dee, So very glad your onc appt went well.Yay....now celebrate!!!

Home late last night from a most fantastic vaca!   We left in snow and returned to some still on the ground, but roads were clear.   Our room was gorgeous with a panoramic ocean/beach view.  Room service food was exceptional--spent several mornings eating eggs benedict and sipping Mimosas on our balcony.  By the 3rd day I realized it was the HTL come to life, complete with Pablo and Beneto bringing any and every drink requested to the pool or bar.   Hotel had a room off the lobby that was open 24/7 and always stocked with wonderful snacks/appetizers; wine; beer; and any mixed drink you'd ever want to make (it was self-service, but always available!).  There was a liquor dispenser in the room that held rum, tequila, vodka, and DH's SCOTCH!  He was totally pleased with that.   Hard to come back to reality, so thankful to have the HTL to escape to!  Already plotting how soon we can go back and how I'm going to save up the money!

Never did figure out the wi-fi thing...the few people I saw using their laptops didn't speak English so they were no help.  Every time I asked at the front desk, I'd get someone who didn't understand what I was wanting...finally gave up on that!   And, just so you'll feel some sorry for me--it rained every afternoon and was often cloudy and cool--unusual for that time of year.  We just had to laugh and say, "well, it's a warm rain!"

Haven't read back to catch up, so for now will just say that I hope everyone's snow is melting; surgeries went well/go well; anyone who's been sick is feeling better; travelers stay safe and have a great time; and big round of hugggssss to everyone.

We did have a tv in room but not sure it was on for 5 minutes, so have a lot of catching up to do here and with what's been happening everywhere!

Will be back later for happy hour!!!!

Welcome back, Junie!  I've had the boys move the mimosa fountain over next to the pool where I'm floating and getting snockered.

I've been jittery all day and need to get my nerves calmed down if I'm going to get a good sleep tonight.  I really wish this semester didn't have so many breaks in it--I do much better when I'm not home alone day after day.  It gives me too much time to stew over things.  I filed a complaint against the hospital where I got radiation--almost 3 years and I still can't get answers to my questions--and the state investigator called me today. Going over all the details again had me in tears and shaking with frustration, anger and fear.  I felt just like I was going through it all again.  Dear Lord when will my bad choice of treatment stop haunting me and making my life miserable?  So, boys, bring on the drinks and turn up the water temp in the pool!  If I fall asleep, let me sleep. I'm a coastal gal, I'll wake up if I start to drown, I promise.
