Grdnslve, did they not give you any anti nuasea meds?  I hate ginger and  was really happy I had the nausea meds during chemo...but I had three different kinds...I think they helped at my worst points.  Please do not hesitate to ask your onc.  I don't think they are totally horrible for you as far as side effects.  I had TAC X 6.  I had some pukey moments but not many.  Hope you are doing fine, thoughts are with your during this rough time...you will make it....do you get a neulasta shot tomorrow?  Stay well girl!  HD

grdnslve, HD is right, your dr may give you some anti-nausea meds that could really help you. If you want to try ginger, yes, you can buy the gnarly looking root. I just peel a bit at a time, and grate what I need while still all attached. Right now I have it in the fridge in a baggie, but I think I read a paper bag is better(?). You don't want to use tooo much, as it can get hot.OR you can also get the pickled ginger in the jar...it is pink, and what they serve with sushi....can eat it just like that, sorta sweet. I love candied ginger too, but not sure where to get it here...I bring it back when I am in Hawaii, but I think an asian store would have it. Glad you have one treatment behind you! Hang in there!!!

Off to Tunica in the morning..lots of drinking and eating for the next couple of days! Shall I tell "Hunk" that everyone says hi? Will have the netbook so will try to pop in and see how everyone is doing. Connie,Hope you are doing well, and not in too much pain. Best to everyone!

Bottoms Up (but keep it covered!),

Hold on K! I WANNA GO!!!!!!

Gardnslve, ask your doc for anti nausea meds-hope you feel better soon. I hate ginger too, so I wouldn't be able to stomach that. NM, what happended with the radiation? If you want to talk about it, if not that's ok too :) I hope you can get all that resolved so you can try to move on soon. I hate re-living bad moments, it keeps you stuck there.I have alot of anxiety and panic attacks too, have had them for years and not sure what causes it. I know how bad it sucks! I just take my zanax or clonzapam and keep on trucking. I mean thats all we can do eh? Glad to see Junie is back. Lori are you home yet? Oh well another day at work..waiting on the weekend :)

I hope you all have a marvelous day!

( I ) Bottoms up or a full moon, can't be Friday to soon!

I have decided that we all need a stripper name...What the h*ll, I'm bored! ..LOL

    A. Follow the instructions to find your new name.

    B. Once you have your new name, share it!

    1. Use the third letter of your first name to determine your new first name: a = Chesty, b = Fantasia, c = Starr, d = Diamond, e = Montana, f =Angel, g = Sugar, h = Mimi, i = Lola, j = Kitty, k = Roxie, l = Dallas,

    m = Princess, n = Heidi, o = Bambi, p = Bunny, q = Brandy, r = Sugar, s= Candy, t = Raquelle, u = Sapphire, v = Cinnamon, w = Blaze, x =Trixie, y = Isis, z = Jade

    2. Use the second letter of your last name to determine the first half of your new last name:

    a = Leather, b = Dream, c = Sunny, d = Deep,e = Heaven, f = Tight, g =Shimmer, h = Velvet, i = Lusty, j = Harley,k = Passion, l = Dazzle, m =Dixon, n = Spank, o = Glitter, p = Razor,q = Meadow, r = Glitz, s = Sparkle, t = Sweet, u = Silver, v = Tickle,w = Cherry, x = Hard, y =Night, z = Amber

    3. Use the third letter of your last name to determine the second half of your new last name:

    a = hooter, b = horn, c = tower, d = fire, e = thighs, f = hips, g = side,h = jugs, i = shock, j = cocker, k = brook, l = tush, m = sizzle, n= ridge, o = kiss, p = bomb, q = cream, r = thong, s = heat, t = whip, u = cheeks, v = rock, w = hiney, x = button, y = lick, z = juice

That makes me Princess Glittersizzle--I think I like it, actually!  Very funny!

I got radiation at a center that was "undergoing change" meaning in the process of moving from the hospital to a new off campus building.  I got NO information, got radiation from 3 directions several time instead of 2, they didn't use the form with my name on it many times.  The tech almost hit me in the face with the machine one day and triggered a panic attack. One day they took extra x-rays "to check on a problem" and then no one would tell me what the problem was.  All I've found out so far is "the treatment field was out of alignment" but no one will tell me what that means.  I only saw a nurse twice during he whole time I was going there.  The rad onc wouldn't answer questions, and kept trying to twist my arm into doing chemo, which I had decided not to do long before I ever saw him.  I wound up woth so much radiation damage that the tissue in that breast started dying off, then getting infected and causing abscesses which had to be opened up and packed daily, and then wouldn't heal, again due to radiation damage.  I spend all one summer with IV antibiotics, doing hyperbaric treatments, and in more and more pain.  Finally had a mastectomy to stop the horror and pain and so I could go back to work.  It took months to get all my records, and I'm still trying to get answers to my questions and corrections made to my records.  I've filed complaints with the Joint Commission, the State licensing board and with the State Medical board against the Rad Onc.  The records are all "perfect" so no lawyer will take my case on as a malpractice case.  And then there were billing problems, the Med Onc office "lost" my records and never made a follow up appointment to start hormone therapy after radiation, And then they held my sick time payout for months after I was terminated from my position (I worked in the hospital system) to retalitate for my making complaints about my treatment.  I felt like I would have been a lot better off if I could have taken my breast off and just sent that in every day, I know the staff would have been happier. The staff couldn't have said more than a dozen words to me the entire 3 months I was going there.  Having radiation was the worse experience I've ever had in my entire life and, 3 years later, I'm still terrifed to walk into a doctor's office or hospital.

I hope all this doesn't upset anyone getting radiaiton or considering it.  I've heard it can be 'easy' and most women work full time during radiaiton.  I can't see how anyone can work with their entire breast blistered and draining for weeks, and in so much pain that they can't more thier arm on the affected side, and so tired that all you can do is feed the dogs and drive yourself back and forth, but I keep hearing "that's unusual" when I tell a doc what happened.  Radiation centers aren't set up to deal with "unusual" reactions, so I guess it was just my bad luck.

OMG NM....that is just awful....sounds like a good lawsuit to me, but bc of politics I know it is impossible to find a lawyer to touch it....unless you get one in another city. Could it be your word against the records that are incorrect? My heart really goes out to you...for all the pain...sadness...loss of income...and perpetual uneasiness arounds drs/hospitals. They had something on tv recently (wish I had paid more attention now, but maybe it can be googled?) about some radiation being given at many times the allowed dose..and our hospital here was the worst culprit I think (Crestwood Hospital or Huntsville Hospital). I would imagine there is some sort of lawsuit brewing...did you take any pics of what your skin looked like? Surely with all the visits you had to take care of the problem, it may be documented at one of your doctors? I hope so. I am so very sorry you had to go through all this.

On a lighter note, NM, you sure got a snazzy stripper name! This was fun, Dee. My name is "Raquelle Leather Rock"....not sure what I would wear when I strip to go along with that name...LOL.

Well, DH got sick last night, and is STILL in bed...so not sure if we will have to cancel our Tunica trip, yet again. Was suppposed to be on the road already. Will keep you posted. I liked your cheer Dee! Will elaborate on it...

Bottoms up or a full moon, can't be Friday too soon! But Thursday can be lots of fun, as its not snowing and I see the sun. So let's put on our stripper show, to celebrate that there's no snow! Montana SilverRidge, Princess GlitterSizzle, and Raquelle LeatherRock, Let's get "Pants" to join us, along with "Jock". (could've rhymed with the "c" word, as in "Let's get Pants to join us, struttin his c---.....LOL. But I cleaned it up!)

WOW NM, I am so sorry you had to go through all of that! I hope you can get some kind of settlement form those a*holes, they deserve to be punished for what they did to you. But I sure can understand why you wouldn't want to go to another doctor. I hope you have a doc you can trust now. K you are too funny...love your elaboration! LMAO

After that all I can say is Cheers to you all!

Well DH is sick as a dog...so will have to delay our trip AGAIN. Maybe can go tomorrow if he's better, but now I'm getting a headache (which usually means I'm getting sick)... Both DD's and g'kids have had this...seems to last 1-3 days...not fun at all. Hope no one here gets it! Good thing germs can't travel thru cyberspace...no regular viruses that is...only puter ones. Stay well gals! Maybe we need a strong alcoholic immunity drink.....

    Cheers!

    Bambi Leather Thong checking in.......

Kathy--sorry that Tunica has been delayed again, but it wouldn't be much fun to go if anyone's feeling sick.   There must be something going around--I strted hacking yesterday afternoon and feel crappy today.   I almost always get sick after being in planes/airports.  I don't think my immune system ever recovered from chemo.

NM--sorry you've had so much problems with the rads.  I've met several gals with similar issues who ended up getting  mast to finally cure the draining, abcesses.   Hyperbaric treatment did nothing for one girl.   Dreadful that it is all still hanging over your head.   Hope you find a successful resolution soon.

Here's my happy note--my daffodils are beginning to poke up.  They'll be blooming in 3-4 weeks, all glorious thousand+ of them.  Can't wait--that always signals spring is here to me!

Cheers and Bottoms Up to anything, everything, or nothing!!!

    Hi Drinkin'Buds~

I've been reading back - so much to catch up on!   Sad stories, funny stories.....(Lori, the pink bra story was hilarious)

Junie - sounds like you managed to suffer through your vaca south of the border in spite of the "warm" rain  Cool

Weather is crazy for sure.  Went to Dallas last weekend, and they had 12 inches of snow! I live in the south and can't get away from the stuff WTF?

Sending well wishes to all my drinkin' buds, Lori, Junie, Kathy, Jaybird, HD, Dee, NM, all the newbies and anyone else I've missed.  Everyone stay warm and toasty.

    Cheers,

junie, I think that airplane travel is messing with your mind! OR you didn't like your first choice of names...LOL. Isn't your name "Heidi" Leather Thong? I got mine wrong the first time too, and had to edit my posts. Should be an easy thing to do, I mean the instructions weren't THAT hard, but I sure messed it up too! But if you'd rather be Bambi, since jaybird and Donna are Heidi, thats alright by me!!!

    Cheers to us Chicas,

Wahine--LOL--I used my real first name on this one--sorry I confused you!!  My fav stripper name is Ginger Holmes.   That's the game where you use the name of your favorite childhood pet and the street you grew up on...

Donna, we sat out on our balcony and watched the ferry boats shuttle back and forth between Playa and Cozumel.   We didn't go over to Cozumel this trip; have made that ferry ride many times.  Hope Dallas gets over all its snow--we're headed that way in a couple weeks for a wedding.

I'm toasting to no more snow, warm breezes, SPRING!!!

NM - oh, my heart goes out to you. What an awful experience with rads, and yesterday! Sending {{hugs}} and drinks to help you feel better (wish I could help).  Snookie must have known you needed that "lap dance" to get you in the mood for your stripper name.

Dee - glad to hear your appt went well. Mine was good too - nothing new or major, just scheduled me for a bone density test.  Onward!

Connie - hope you're gliding through treatments and doing ok. Prayers for you chica!

Kathy - so sorry to hear about your trip delay. Hope your hubby's on the mend soon.

Junie - welcome back!  Sounds like you had a great time!!

Ok, the stripper names are cracking me up. Cheers all! xo, E (aka Lola Glitz-Thighs)

I fired the Rad Onc when he told me I had truncal lymphedema, it couldn't be treated and it woudl get gradually worse over time, see you in a year.  Found a Med Onc 95 miles away that I like and where I get treated well.  Everything else I get done out of state.

Junie--If I use the pet/street method I become Duchess Route 3!  I suppose if I stuck "of" in the middle it would actually work. . . But I think I'll stick with Princes Glitter Sizzle, Princess ranks higher than Duchess and I am most certainly a Princess!

Jocks, Pants, what can you mix up that's fit for a Princess?  Something with a little glitter and a LOT of sizzle, please!

dallas silverthong???  but i've never been to dallas, and whats this about somebody else getting lola????  haha

yes, my onc gave me all kinds of antiemetics, but he also likes suggesting the ginger.  he is all about being prepared & not using more than necessary, but having what you need.  got my neulasta shot today & fighting with the ins over it to do at home.  they also wouldn't pay for ativan, but i think i can maintain without it.  if proven wrong will pay out of pocket. got my port  this morning & then over to the clinic for the shot...came home & went to sleep for 4 hours!  felt like a truck had run over me.  but feel we are over the hump in terms of all these long days.  getting adria once a week, and taking oral cytoxan everyday.

    hoping connies alright--

nm--hon all i can say is omg you poor thing.  cannot believe no one will take your case.  rad should not go like that, but maybe let that be a lesson to the rest of us before we start..don't go to a facility in transition, and change if you get the feeling they aren't listening to you or don't seem proffessional.  there are excellant places  out there that would love your buck, so be happy and confident about where you are treated!!!   one of the reasons i am going where i am, is the clinic i used to work for merged with a rival clinic and the local hospital--who could possibly think that would be a seamless transition!!!  i quit before they merged, just knew it would be a nightmare, and it was/is.  also, nm, i didn't see anything on your signature about nodes being positive.  so if there was no nodal involvement, why would they want you to do chemo?

my surgeon cracked up when i asked him for jello shots mixed with miralax...said he though that was a good idea....maybe i started something.  maybe more people will be coming out of the hosp able to poop.  just thinking about my fellow humans....

grdnslve - sorry to hear about your parents.  That sucks!  Maybe you'll get more support from them, esp your dad, in the future.  People sure do act strangly toward this whole BC thing.

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers about my sister.  Her MRI came back inconclusive.  They want to do a bone biopsy, but not sure if they can??  Her pain is getting worse.  Lots of tears flowing these days, while waiting for results!

I am going to lead a team for the Susan G Komen walk.  I'm trying to find a good team name.  I thought of "Crazy for the Cure" and "Cheers to the Cure"  Normally, I can come up with something clever, but my mind is blank!

    Hi Gals,

Kittycat, Very sorry that the MRI results were not what we all hoped for. I hope they can find a way to do the bone biopsy, and have it turn out neg. Your sister (and all of you) are still in my prayers. Please let her know that LOTS of gals are praying for her!

I am sorta brain dead this am, as coffee has not kicked in yet, so the only name I came up with is "Conquer the Cure"..but that may have been used already. Maybe I can think of more on the ROAD...yes gals, we are going to Tunica this morning. DH seems well, and I am ok, so hopefully we can have fun there..will do LOTS of drinking. First shot will be a slippery nipple...LOL. Will have the puter, so will keep in touch. But does that mean I have to share my winnings???? WIll try to keep thinking of a name, and getting ready to wink at Hunk.....(DH hates it when I see him, cause I always give him a big hug, and he lights up when he sees me....only cause I always ask to see a new pic of his baby, and who doesn't like to show off their baby pics!!!).

Princess, I too am sorry to hear about those issues you are having. As if we don't have enough on our plates.

Raquelle, I loved your poem/cheer. You did good! Hope you and hubby feel better real soon. Don't want you sick for Hawaii.

HD, Looks like you and I have the same first name, can I use Shuga too?

Kitty, still sending prayers your way for your sister. And Connie, hope you are doing well.

Cheers from London! I'm not drinking, just working on next month's schedule. I'll be in Moscow 4 times in March - ya think maybe I like that place or what?

My upstairs remodel is limping along (thanks in part to me). I finally decided on carpet colors/styles and paint colors and the painting will be done next week (had to pay for that as I have NO uninterrupted free time) and then the carpet gets laid and THEN I can move all the bedroom furniture that's downstairs back upstairs. Yes, I'll take pics but will I be able to post them?

I hope everyone is staying warm and dry. Cheers to the weekend!

dallas silver thong:  they wanted me to do chemo for the $$.  Chemo is a big money maker.  They pushed and pushed me until I had them bring me the research reports they were using as "evididence" and I pointed to the places in the reports that stated that there was no evidence of benefit from chemo in early stage bc, especially node negative.  I could not justify losing all my hair, being sick all the time, a 30% chance of permanent nerve damage and chronic pain in my hands and feet just to change my chance of being recurrrence free for 5 years from 93% to 97%.  On another topic--you can get crystallized ginger, also called candied ginger, in health food stores and often in maintream grocery stores recently.  I'm prone to motion sickness and carry some with me whenever I travel, chew on a piece every so often and keep my tummy very happy from point A to B.

kittycat--it must really suck to not get answers even after all that testing.  I hate the "inconclusive" report from any test.  My feeling is that any test that gives "inconclusive" results should be free of charge.  Just my opinion, anyway.

Raquelle Leather Rock--you don'thave to share your winnings, but you do have to buy a round of drinks if you win!  Have a good time!

grdslv:  I don't know of anyway to delete sent pm's either.  I just ignore them as much as I can.

jaybird--I guess you must love Moscow!  Glad the remodeling is coming along, if slowly.

On a bit of a lighter note, when I got home this afternoon I had messages: (1) from the State Licensing Agency, they've done an unannounced investigatory visit to the hospital where I had rads done, got copies of all my records and are having an expert radiologist look them over. (2) from the regional civil liberties union for more info, they're going to investigate the hassle they gave me about getting my records and not answering my questions. (3) from the state Medical Board saying they got my complaint about the Rad Onc and will be revieiwing the case. I must admit I do like knowing that I am causing them all sorts of regulatory trouble!  I'm under no illusions that anyone will actually find anything "wrong" but at least I've made them sweat a little!  UnChristian as it is, I do enjoy the idea!

I'm still thinking of names.  I live in Vegas.  I was trying to think of a name that either has to do with something I like to do (drink) or maybe something to do with Vegas (without being cliche).
