Welcome, arubajan05!  Glad you found us, and everyone is welcome to join.  Have you met the Tattie Tenders yet?  Pants and Jock are the men, Kandie and, oops, I've temporarily forgetten the other female tender's name.  The lady tenders are new but fitting in very nicely.  In the TaTa Lounge you can drink anything you want any time you want in any amount you want with no hangover, no drug interactions, no touchy tummy, only a feeling of happiness and relaxation--sometimes to the point of falling asleep on a floatie in the pool!  But it's ok, all the tenders are lifeguards and the floaties are specially designed for us to keep us "above water" while asleep.  I'm a big fan of the hot tub, personally.  I love the way the Tenders move the appropriate drink fountain or bucket within arm's reach no matter where we are. The fountains and buckets never empty, and the individual drinks just keep coming!  The Tenders are all great gormet chefs, too, and set up wonderful buffets for us--whatever you want whenever you want!

On a more serious note--ask your onc about having a glass of wine at the party.  I didn't have chemo, but I've noticed a lot of  ladies on the boards have been told that an occasional glass of wine or beer or drink is ok.

Good Morning Gals, and a Big Welcome to Jan! This is a fun place to be, to get away from the drs appts, chemo, etc! We have pics posted somewhere of our "Hot Tatties Lounge", or HTL for short....maybe Lori can dig them up for you? We also have the "Banana Hammock" our swim up bar, a casino, etc. Nice parties with tiki torches lit and wild entertainment! The "Wenches" that help out our "Tattie Tenders" are Candie, Sugar, and Blades (don't think that is right...what name did we give to the Roller Blading Wench, gals?). I know someone will chime in with the right names for our gals, I have brain freeze at the moment. We have mimosa fountains, percotini fountains (for those in need of pain meds), etc. Whatever your heart desires! Foot massages, back massages, you get the picture....relax and have fun here!

Dee, what a yummy sounding drink! How are you doing today? And HunkyDory? Junie? Jaybird, so glad you are back at home and hugging Avery again! I bet she was overjoyed to see you, too. What a mess the past few days....longing for the days when there really were "friendly skies"! BTW, how are plans coming along for your big birthday blowout? You know, we can bring the vengabus and pick up EVERYONE along the way....what a big turnout that would be! Where is CasinoGirl, and some of the other regulars? We seem to have lost some lounge lizards.....come on back, gals!

Think I'll lie by the pool with a nice cool drink that Dee posted...Jocks please bring me TWO of them, for starters. GAWGEOUS day here today! Looks like some severe weather here (not at HTL) tomorrow, so gotta stock up on likker.

    Cheers,

    Kathy

Welcome Jan, pull up a bar stool, a floatie, a hammock or chair in the casino. Grab a drink and enjoy. Why not have your chemo cocktails here too? I can't think of better place to do that. We do have a doctor standing by and a fire crew. Drink TONS of water, to flush that crap out of your body, and if you do get to feeling icky, it's important to eat and get protein in your body to keep it strong. I think I was told 75 grams a day. And rest if you feel the need, if you don't...it will catch up with you!

I saw this yesterday when I was looking for a peach drink, looks like it's suitable for today's drink, along with the Big Chill. What do ya think?

    Liquid Valium Recipe

Ingredients 3/4 oz Coconut Rum, 3/4 oz Peach Schnapps, 2 oz each of Canadian Whiskey, Cranberry Juice and Orange Juice

    The HTL

Our Wenches I don't think we had a name for our roller skating gal, but I think Junie was calling her "Skate"..........that right J?

    The Fire Crew

Oh....I did get a short email from Casino Girl. She is fine, just been busy with work and her house.

Mahalo Plenty, Lori!!! So nice to see those pics again of our wonderful Hot Tatties Lounge, and the hunky firemen. Love the pic of the pool bar and all the feet in the water! For some reason I couldn't see the Wenches though. Really appreciate you posting those pics....wonderful memories when we were all thinking of the concept and choosing names, etc! And for any new gals, you can ADD to the HTL...whatever you think it needs! We do have a hot tub, fire pit, etc., and of course the casino is FREE!! Thanks for letting us know CasinoGirl is doing well!

Junie, Safe travels today! I know it will be fun, fun, fun at the parties! We'll try to keep up with ya, drink for drink, here....well maybe not quite that many....LOL

To Liquid Valium and the Big Chill,

I could really use one of those liquid valium drinks, please.  After I finally got myself awake enough to be functional I started emotionally over reacting to everything, all day today.   Having to slow down for road destruction (oops, road work) had me in tears and yelling in the car on the way to work.  I mean, I had plenty of time and certainly wasn't going to be even remotely late!  Little irritations had me in a rage and my stomach in knots.  My tongue is still bloody from biting it so hard so I wouldn't say something totally inappropriate in the meeting!  I'm beginning to think I'm losing my mind!  Can't decide if I need another xanax, a large liquid valium, a brick dropped on my head, or some time in a rubber room!  While I'm deciding I'm going to soak in the hot tub, have Pants massage my feet, Skates psychoanalyze me, Sugar and Kandie keep my glasses full (one in each hand) and Jock dance for me.  Hmmm, I think I need to find a way to work cholocalate into this scenario. . .

Hey gals!  I would say Happy Friday, but it has been quite a miserable day for me.  :(  Went to the onco, he felt a "mass" so I went to have an ultrasound done.  Then, they told me to go immediately back to my onco's office (ok that's not good).  His PA was there and told me they found a solid mass - WHAT?????  I had DCIS - no invasive components and a bilateral mastectomy!  I was hormone negative, so no Tamoxifen.  I sent Goldie a PM through FB about it,while I was waiting for the results (thanks for the kind words of encouragement).   I have to see my breast surgeon Monday morning.  His office said they'll probably do a biopsy on Tuesday.  They are moving very quickly on this, which scares me even more.  The PA gave me a big hug as I was leaving. Normally I can make it to my car without crying, but I broke down in his office.  The nurses were really sweet, too.

I called my plastic surgeon and my obgyn.  The nurses there know me well and were really bummed to hear this.

I really hope this is scar tissue (he said that could be possible).  Of course, that's what I thought the first time (thought it was scar tissue from my breast aug).  When I looked at the screen it said 4 cm.  It feels bigger than my first lump, which was only 1 cm.  I'm really scared!!!  I need a really stiff drink!!!!

I hope everybody else had a MUCH BETTER DAY than me!  :)

Kitty, I have your back too.  I am thinking good thoughts.  I REALLY do understand the worry.  I am so very glad they are moving quickly on it and will keep my fingers crossed that you will be just fine and helping move your mom.  Wish I could do something to help, but all I can say is hang in there.  My thoughts will be with you all weekend.  I am so sorry you have to go through this.  Sending you a whole virtual bottle of ativan, and a big glass of your favorite wine!  Hugs...HD

Oh kittycat, I am also sending good vibes and thoughts your way....hoping its scar tissue, or something else MINOR. Like HD, I am glad they are moving quickly, although I am sure this weekend will seem like an eternity, till your appt Monday. Aren't you supposed to be at the storage place tomorrow, as your mom's stuff is arriving? At least that will keep you busy, and your mind will be focused on other things too. When does your mom arrive? Remind me of what you had done...the bilat mast....and did you have recon w/ implants, or have the tummy tissue there? Sounds like you have some good doctors, and I know they will take care of you! Till then, feel free to monopolize our TT's and wenches.....have them pamper you....you deserve it!! And feel free to vent here over the weekend...we are here to give you support!

NM, OMG what a terrible day for you too! Hope your bloody tongue is recovering....sounds like you need some good R&R too!!

Lori,  I am hoping those peaches will survive....sometimes here they say it is better to let the frost and ice cover them....insulates them from the cold wind....for some reason if it is frozen at 32, and protected from the wind and lower temps, it may make it! There are lots of peach orchards nearby....good Alabama peaches!!! I do hope you can enjoy the AZ variety!

They sure are predicting some severe weather tomorrow....they even cancelled a day of our big festival....only having it today and Sunday...in 30 yrs I have never heard of them cancelling a day of it. ITs quite a big event...kid oriented...my DD danced at it, years ago. Apparently my other DD knows lots of people that knew that little boy that was run over and killed by the lawn mower....and he went to the elem school my girls did. SO sad....his mom is still in the hosp recovering from surgery from someone running into them while they were following the ambulance to the hosp. When times seem tough, and I hear something like that, it puts things in perspective...and breaks my heart.

    We need another party!!!

Awww... thanks everyone!  Dee- I love the pic!  :)

We got my mom's stuff into storage this afternoon.  The movers called me right after I got home from the onco's office.  A little powder, mascara and a pair of sunglasses - who could tell I was crying???  My hubby got off work early and met me at the storage place.  When I got home, he had a bouquet of red roses and a card on the kitchen counter!  :)  Very sweet!!!

I'm thinking of going for a drive or something this weekend.

So, after all my b*tching and complaining that no one was joining our team for the Susan G Komen walk, I have all these people join my team this week.  The walk is next weekend - how fitting!  I'm glad to have a lot of supporters!!!  :)

Kitty, I have already replied in Facebook to you, didn't want the other gals thinking I was inconciderate for not replying. But yes, its good they are moving fast, and yes, you and hubby should go out and do something, keep occupied. We are all praying for scar tissue.

Junie, hope you have fun fun fun......but you can only stay a month if you keep in touch here.

We had another freeze last night Kathy, so I don't know if they will make it or not. Time will tell. Hope you get to make it to your festival.

NM, whew....sorry about your day too! But I had to laugh at the end of your post and the spelling of (what I think is chocolate) cholocalate!

If we're have a Mexican Buffet for Cinco De Mayo....I am putting a request in for a table with "mild" things. My tummy just can't handle spicy or hot! What kind of band Astorm?

    Hugs for Heather

Lori -- no worries.... you know nothing will hurt you at the HTL. My DD made me a CD for my car and I got this song stuck in my head "me gustas tu" (Manu Chou). Very *danceable* ... fun video:

Oh, my, that misspelling of chocolate really illustrated my stress level yesterday!   The good news--a good nights sleep (one of the few I've had in the last 3 years) and a cup of Chicory Coffee from Cafe Du Monde and a good cuddle with Snookie and a sunny morning with crystal throwing rainbows all over the living room and I feel MUCH better!  Yesterday was the result of 3 mornings of getting up at 4 am or earlier, the stress of a doctor's appointment and a lot going on at work.  I was hoping the fall apart day would happen today when I can stay home and not bother anyone with my wild mood swings (Snookie knows when to cuddle and when to hide), but I guess my emotional part had other plans.

I second the request for mild foods on the Cinco de Mayo buffet.  I have a history of ulcers and spicy stuff doesn't agree with me. Of course, the Tattie Tenders have always provided special alternatives to the spicy stuff before so I'm sure they will again--maybe a whole table of  "cholocalate" based foods?

NM, Great idea to have the TT's include a table of "cholocalate" foods....LOL....I am a card-holding chocoholic so would really enjoy that and prob OD from it! Yummmmmmm!! And nice of everyone to suggest mild mexican food along with the spicy food. Glad your bad day is over, and today you can just relax and get those good Snookie hugs! We are preparing for this bad weather that should be here soon....will have to cancel my hair appt and just stay home. Usually we get advance notice of tornados, but they said this system is so bad they could pop up suddenly, plus large hail, etc....ugh. Our club house has some rooms that are underground on 3 sides, so if there is time, that is the place to be....and its very close to where my parents townhouse is (they can walk). Nice to hear that you are enjoying sunny weather today!!! I'll prob have the computers offline for awhile........

How bout a chocolate drink today to go with that nice display???

    ChEARS,

Welcome to the lounge Bean!  It is so nice here.  You will fit right in.  We are all pretty nice gals....well, most of us...lol!  Pull up a chair and stay a while.  Are you starting chemo?  You will find a lot of support here really and don't be afraid to ask any questions because we have all been there or are still there.  Kind of slow here for a Saturday but will pick up later in the day.  You gals pushing the chocolate around here must be getting some kind of profit sharing or fringe benifits from my dentist. I don't care how virtual of a place this is, that chocolate will turn my teeth into a rotted out pie hole!  LOL!  I am going to have to skip on all that sweet stuff as good as it looks.  Happy Saturday to all...Hugs, Hunkydory.

P.S. Jaybird....glad you are home for Avery!  She will love all the hugs and kisses!

Hi Beanius, nice of you to join us! I think we can all confirm being terrified when we got the bc dx....normal to feel that way. This is a good place to get away from the drs, appts, and general worry.....relax, put your feet up (and get a foot massage at the same time)! You will love it here.

Terrible, terrible storms all day and evening. Sad that at least 10 people died in MS...that same storm tracked over here (N. AL). We were under watches and warnings all day. It FINALLY stopped, and we dodged the bullet this time. Kept bringing the dogs inside, putting them back out, etc...have a gazillion candles out, with matches, the weather radios got new batteries, etc...I was prepared, but SO glad none of that was needed. I think lots of people over at least 3 states are without power from that storm. Trees were down near my DD's house, but I don't think we had much damage here.Hope everyone else had SUNNY skies, and a good day.

Are we waiting till Cinco de Mayo for our next party??? What other celebrating can we do? Surely we have a reason for a partay, right gals??? Ummmmm....maybe a party cause the bus needs washing after that long road trip, and we can watch the TT's wash it while showing their washboard abs? Is that a good enough reason to party??? LOL. Best to you all......

Good evenin' to all you HTL ladies!

Welcome to all the new HTL members, glad you are here :) I had a busy day trying to get all the weeding in the flower beds done before the rains hit. Got most of it done, now I just have to spray for weeds one more time. Then will have to lay more topsoil and mulch everything. Lordy spring brings tons of work but it sure looks nice when it's all done. Went looking for a new couch that I have needed for over 5 years. I will be picking it up Tuesday after work, can't wait to sit on something that is actually comfortable again. I am now ready for one of each beverage in the lounge. Candy set em up! And rounds for everybody!

Beanius - WELCOME!!!  We are a fun bunch of gals!  Glad you joined us!  Cheers!!! It's funny that you mentioned that you live a healthy lifestyle and then enjoyed some wine after being dx with BC.  When I started this journey, nurses would ask me, "Are you a regular drinker or a social drinker?"  I asked them for a definition (a few drinks a week = social, a couple a night = regular).  I told them during this process I went from social to regular!  LOL!!!  Too much stress!

Wahine - glad you made it through the storm!

    Dee - get those weeds!!!

    Astorm - no teen drama!!!

Drink up everyone!  What are we having?? I'm thinking a shot of tequila!

Beanius--welcome to the lounge!  Don't give up your evening glass of wine--don't let the beast control your life.  Moderation is the key in all things, except here in the HTL.  You can drink all you want here without any negative results. Sorry you have to be one of the people who did everything "right" and still got bitten by the beast.  Just goes to show that "they" don't know as much as they would like us to believe.  I'm a wine lover, too, and have just started making my own.  My first batch of strawberry riesling came out nice, the maple syrup wine is in secondary fermentation, and I put up a smaller batch of pinapple wine to start yesterday.

wahine--so glad you dodged the bullet with the storms!  I know what you mean about being ready and not using it, I do that every fall for winter storms and power failures, then rarely have to use it.  Just as well to go through the exercise and not need it!  I have a reason for a party now--less than 2 months to my recon, and 1 pre-op appointment out of 3 are done!  I'm getting excited, in a scared kind of way.

hunky--I'm not in cahoots with your dentist, but that's not a bad idea.  I may have to explore that income line. . .   If you are passing on chocolate, what kind of table do you want the tenders to set up for you?

dee--congratulations on the new couch!  and I'll join you in a celebratory drink of one of everything!

Astorm--I've heard that teens can resemble aliens at times, sounds like you're doing  the first contact diplomatic dance.  Come on in and relax a while, drinks are on Dee!  What theme do you want for your post CPA exam party?  I'll get the TT's to work on it right away.

kittykat-- tequila sounds good.  I've got a bottle of French Vanilla Kahlua ready to open that I can share--wanna taste?  Or maybe something more appropriate to a Sunday, , ,

    Sunday Morning

    Scotch whisky
    pineapple juice
    Sprite® soda

Equal parts, chilled over ice, then stir. It's not a picky drink. No tricks just pour and drink.

Hi Bean, and welcome. I always come here to lift my spirits, whether they need lifting or not! In fact, its the only thread I post on. We just have so much fun! Our thread really isn't about BC, its our escape from it. But when someone has something going on, boy we are right there for them. Stick around and garantee (mis-spelling intentional) you'll be smiling!

Kathy, glad you missed the storms. But I'm sure you, Junie and CasinoGirl have lots more to watch for. Those storms are scary, I hated when we got them when I lived in Michigan.

Gail, hang in there, she won't be a teen forever!

Dee, we need a new couch too. Ours could just be re-stuffed, but its a Lazy Boy and weighs a TON. I too have been working outside. I'll post pics soon of the greenhouse.

Junie, hope you're having fun. I've been dipping into your buckets while you're gone.

HD....are you back normal coloring and pain almost gone?

Heather, here's some lemons & salt for ya! I'll pass....not sure I could do a shot of to kill ya. Never had one, just affraid it wouldn't stay down.....LOL! What time is your appt tomorrow? Got the fire guys cleaning the bus, in case we all need to make a trip with you!

I am not a chocolate fan, but that Bomb sounds kinda good NM!
