Amazing Grace by 7yr old Rhema Marvanne .. Length: 4:23 http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=380257282983
I don't know if that will work or not, but if you like the song Amazing Grace, this little 7 yr old is AMAZING and she sings it in acapella. My brother posted it on facebook, so I don't know if you can see it without having an account. I'll see if I can find it on you tube or way to save it. It gave me goose bumps and brought tears to my eyes!
I found it! Also read that she lost her mother to ovarian cancer.

Lori, WOW what an amazing way to wake up....I don't do facebook, but the youtube link worked great...very moving and EXCELLENT performance...this girl will have a recording contract some day. I am always moved by this song...had them sing it at my late DH's funeral...always brings tears. Another song I cry to is The Star Spangled Banner....go figure. But when it gets to "the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air"...the tears come streaming down. The Royal Haw'n Band played it in HI when I was there in March, and while we were standing there singing it, I was the only one that broke up and couldn't stop the tears....can just picture those soldiers seeing our flag standing there amid the blazing rockets. So moving. I was a soldier too, but Nat'l Gd, and didn't have to go into war...since I was a single mom of small kids, I know I would have gone AWOL if ever called to war....I don't know how those young moms can leave their young kids!
Gail, I know these teen years are tough (I lost my DH when they were 14 & 17, so did part of those yrs alone), but "this too shall pass". Actually, come here to relax and recharge, and then it will be easier to cope. Believe it or not, raising my kids (every moment) were the best years of my life....of course I didn't realize it at the time and did my share of yelling, etc.....but boy when they grew up and moved out, I missed them immensely!!! Would love to relive those years (except for the early divorce from their natural father, and then losing my DH who adopted them and was the best father and husband).
Yes, lets definately have that party on Wednesday! Count me in....although I'll also be in Tunica, so will already be drinking a lot...will have my parents (93 & 89), and my 95 yr old aunt and her DH with us. That's reason enough to celebrate!!!
Nice, sunny Sunday, hard to believe all those terrible storms of yesterday and last night. Really a GAWGEOUS (as our weatherman puts it) DAY!!!! Glad you got some of your yardwork done Dee....and on Tues can relax on your new sofa....can we all fit on it to have a toast? Think I'll partake of this wonderful buffet the TT's and Wenches made for us.....and so glad the mimosa fountain is flowing....now to find a HUGE glass......
Hope everyone will have a sunny day today!

Good morning ladies!
Lori! Stop trying to make Kathy cry..LOL
We are supposed to go to a baseball game for Julz work but the skies aren't looking so friendly today:( Oh well, take it as it comes. Other than that, been just piddling around the house getting things done. Next I need to tackle the closet..anyone want to come over to help, I will supply the beverages.
Have a great rest of the day!
0 -
Help? Looks like we will have to clean up after you Dee....if you're piddling in your house!
....and I wasn't trying to make Kathy cry..LOL
0 -
HEY is this "see how many times you can make Kathy cry" day???? LOL. That was a great performance Lori, and thank you for sharing it! Sure beats out our karaoke night any time! And yeah, what is this about cleaning up Dee's piddles??? No more beverages for you, Dee....J/K! I'll come help you if you come and help me....but I am still trying to organize EVERY room, so you would end up with the short end of the stick. Trying to get more done, then off to get my hair cut...had to cancel from yesterday cause of the storms. Gotta look good, since I will be seeing "Hunk" this week....LOL.0

NM - that Kahlua sounds wonderful!!! So does the Sunday Morning drink!

Lori - my appt is tomorrow at 9:40 am. I am so nervous! Every little thing is scaring me. I have this tenderness in the lumpy area and under my arm. Now it could be from everyone poking around there or it could also be from my bra - so now I'm wearing a soft sports bra. Or maybe it's my imagination and I'm freaking myself out!!! I told my hubby and now I have him freaked out!
Yes, send the fire trucks over tomorrow!!!!

Hi hunkydory -- Thank you so much for the welcome! And for saying I'll fit in. Water seeks it's own level (so does wine and vodka!). I want to laugh and be happy. I don't like curling up into a quivering ball of sweat and tears. So, it is sooooo delightful to find cool gals who can laugh through some lousy stuff. Not exactly sure when I'll start chemo. My big problem is next week: I have a bone scan Wed and a PET/CT scan on Thurs. The bone scan should be a breeze, but for the PET/CT scan they want me to have NO SUGAR FOR 48 HOURS before hand - aaarrrggghhh! That really cramps my wine-in-the-evening-after-fretting-all-day-to-calm-my-nerves routine - ha, ha! Then I have an axillary dissection May 12. Still trying to diagnose the extent of the problem, so this is a very good time to be drinking a lot in the evenings! I think I'll proly start chemo in May sometime. Last night my husband and I got into hot Dutch apple pie with cookie dough ice cream - yummy!! It was so delectably sweet, cinnamony, creamy and sugary. It hit the spot. I love the chocolate ideas I've been reading here too. I've been putting off the dentist for now. Happy Sunday and thank you again so much for your welcoming words!
Hi wahine - Thank you for the welcome and for understanding the gut ripping terror I've been going through. I am so grateful for an escape! My feet are up and glad for a space to enjoy a foot massage and a case of Zinfandel. Sorry to hear about the weather there. We've had a lot of rain and wind (I'm on the Pacific Coast in WA), but today looks a bit calmer. It is sad to hear of those deaths in MS. Hope all has calmed down for you by now. Thanks for the reminder of Cinco de Mayo! I've been so caught up in my misery that I've forgotten about having a great Cinco de Mayo party and now I will definitely plan that in - hurray! Maybe get some margaritas going and some spicy tacos! I'm from CA where we had great Mexican foods all over the place. I've been in WA for 5 years and still haven't found a good restaurant. I watch the food shows on TV and try to make fun dinners at home usually. Thanks again for the welcome!
Hi dee1961 - Thank you for the welcome, I'm glad to be here - yippee! Have fun with the yard work, that sounds like it keeps you really busy and you'll enjoy the fruits of your labor with a pretty yard. Congrats on getting a new couch. Sounds like the old one was getting uncomfortable. We had a couch one time that we loved so much it was so hard to get rid of it but it finally was just so ugly and old and broken down. We still haven't found a good replacement though we've been through a few since. We got one that was "micro fiber" and it was easy to keep clean but it always gave my husband terrible electric shocks! It was funny, he couldn't stand the thing so we got rid of it. Now we have a corduroy one that is more comfortable, but heck, nothing's perfect. Thanks again and enjoy your beverages at the lounge!
Hi kittycat - Wow! Thanks for the welcome. I read your earlier post and gotta say I'm hoping you just have some scar tissue. After my lumpectomy I had an MRI that turned up a couple suspicious spots that turned out benign. I had to have one biopsied, which I'm still all bruised from, but I'm telling you I understand how scary it is waiting for news. Now I'm waiting for more news cause they found cancer in my nodes. I think the waiting is so hard. I don't even know how many nodes or anything yet. Ucky! Yes, I've had a healthy lifestyle and I loved your story of going from social to regular drinking. The stress has definitely done that for me of late! Yahoo! I'm so glad for some understanding on the subject! I keep getting emails from family members who want to fly in to visit me and I just know they'll bug me about drinking wine and I don't wanna be bugged about it! They are all very healthy and won't understand that sometimes you just need to take the stinging edge off! I don't like pills or I'd get something from my doc, which seems like it's more socially acceptable for some reason, but I don't wanna take a pill! I like sipping Merlot - tastes good, relaxes me, makes my life happy. How was your shot of tequila? Thanks again so much for the welcome!!
Hi NativeMainer - Thank you for the welcome. Thanks for understanding and for permission to have a dang glass (or bottle) a' wine in the eve. I did get bit alright and 2-boot, the screening tools didn't work - my mamo and ultrasound were benign. I only found this by my own little self-exam and my husband insisted I get it biopsied! The obgyn, radiologist, and surgeon all said it was probably nothing and maybe I could wait six months to have it checked again. Whew! Yes, for Sunday eve I'll start with 99 bottles of wine on the wall and see what's left Monday morning! I think that is so cool that you make your own wine. I was a chemist in a previous life and did some wine testing (and tasting) for wine makers. I've never learned how to make it though. Strawberry riesling sounds so nice for spring. Do you have a recipe you can share? I like your idea for maple syrup and pineapple too. Please lemme know how they turn out. Thanks again!!
Hi goldie0827 - Thank you for the welcome! I'm so glad to have a place to be silly and joyful and drunk as a skunk and try to not be a victim of something that's outta of my control. I want to escape and be happy smiling and have fun. Thanks so much for the garantee!
Hi arubajan05 - Hope your chemo went well! Thanks for the shaving heads party idea. I asked my husband if he'd shave his head with me when I start chemo and he was so excited about the idea! Geeawd, the Bald Head Red sounds perfect!! Cheers to you!
Cheers to you all and thank you immensely for being here. With such gratitude and love,
Beanie

quick check-in--it is rainy, stormy, and COLD here in Okla--we were all ready to head for storm cellar next door last night but the storm passed just north. Blackest, scariest clouds I've ever seen. Be glad to get home tomorrow and make sure we didn't have any problems there while we've been gone.
Welcome to ArubaJ and Bean--pull up a bar stool and stay awhile! This is a pretty cool place--we have a lot of fun and do a lot of hand-holding and hugging, too!!! Kitty--got my fingers crossed for you tomorrow--will be checking in tomorrow and hope to hear good news! I was asked one time at a drs' office about my drinking--I said I was a social drinker.......then added that I am a verrrry social person!!!!!
Leaving shortly for an outdoor bbq--hope I brought enough warm clothes. Poor DH only brought shorts and a light jacket--he'll need to borrow some sweats from someone or freeze later. Freaky weather.
Happy restoftheweekend to everyone! bottomsup!!!!!

Hi Ladies, Happy Sunday!
Welcome to the club, Beanie! Where in the PNW are you? I'm in Sultan but I had my treatment in Arlington (where we were living at the time). Drop me a private message if you ever want to talk about anything.
My son might be coming down for a visit this week, I'm really looking forward to that. He seems to be really maturing in the past few months, it's actually a pleasure to be around him now.
Welcome to you, too, Aruba. I hope your first treatment wasn't too horrible. Mine was a breeze compared to the treatments for my colon cancer, but they still weren't easy.
For everyone else, stay warm, dry and happy!
Ciao for niao,
Connie

Beanie, Next week sounds to be a stressful one for sure. The more info you get about your dx the more you will be able to get a grip on it all. I too am a node positive victim. It sucks indeedo! Become educated, and DON'T scare yourself by googling your final dx. This BCO website is a great wealth of knowledge and I am sure you will have plenty of time to peruse around the diffierent topics. I love this drinking thread for sure. Every gal on here has a heart of gold, or booze....lol! There are also many a threads for those starting chemo the same month you will be too. I found that to be a great help too me personally. Just hearing other ladies dealing with the same issues at the same time seemed so comforting to me. Ok, enough of my impersonation of Dr. Hunky Onc. Not doing a very good job of that impersonation. Hey, I work in a chemistry lab...how strange. I hate chemistry. LOL! Also, I didn't get a chance to welcome you arubajan05. Welcome to the lounge. Hope you find some good times here as you sail through your trts! Glad you all weathered the storms girls. NM, I still have three teeth to get drilled on and have been putting it off since last recon surgery. Wish he could have come in and done his drilling during that surgery. I don't think they probably like dental tissue flying around a sterile operating room however. Hiya Connie, Lori, Junie, Dee, Kathy, Casino Girl, Jaybird and Caz,
Kitty, For next week I am working on the ability to cross my toes. Got my fingers all crossed. Toes won't work!!! Well, guess my eyes will cross a little later today. Chears, me dears! HunkyD

Beanie--The strawberry reisling was my fist batch and made from a kit that have everything except the water. Now I'm playing around with recipes, I'll let you know how they turn out. Nothing like chopping up 10 pounds of pineapple to take your frustrations!

hahaaa @ Junie you social animal you! Good luck to all waiting on tests and going to doctors appointments, hang in there ladies it will get better. I just can't wait to go back for a another whole week of work. NOT!! (((HUGS to all)))

Junie - I love the social person comment! That's great!!!
Bean - thanks for giving everyone such kind words! You will certainly love it here! Pull up a bar stool and let us pour you some drinks!
Well, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully I get some insight from my BS. Right now I am holding onto hope and a nice feeling after a couple shots of tequila!

Try to make it a:
Good luck to everyone having tests and seeing doctors today. Everyone else get to work!
It's mellow Monday. So maybe a good wine today would be a good choice. I do not know anything about wine so it will be your choice.
Love to all

Oooooooo. look at the new Miss Sophisticated Gaga, aren't we looking Gagaliscious! Looks like you're getting ready to attend a Black Tie afair!
Bean, like Kitty said....thanks for all nice words. Ya, stick around and if you have any questions I'm sure one of us will have an answer......or a drink to offer!
Jan......you still with us? Hope we didn't scare off!
NM, loved that pic. Is that Magic Bus filled up? We need to jump on board to go with Kitty to see her BS.
Kitty, please post when you can, we are all here for you and hoping he tells you its just scar tissue.
Dee, I don't know much about wine either. Think I'll just be "social" with you, Junie and HD.
Kathy, hope you got a nice do for Tunica. I am still so amazed at your mom, dad and aunt! Even if you don't win, you will all have a great time.
0 -
Oh shoot..........are there others having something done today? If so, please repost, as I don't remember and I also apologize. That bus is "Magic" so we will make those appointments too. I didn't mean to sound insensitive.
0 -
Yes Kitty, puleeez tell us asap what the dr says....we are all there with you today (in spirit anyway, if the MagicBus doesn't get us there in time!). Hoping and praying for good news!
Lori, I keep getting my hair cut shorter and shorter...LOL. Was so long a couple of months ago, but this is much easier to care for. I agree...I think we'll have fun regardless!!
I may have to make a dr appt soon....have sharp pains under one armpit....I had pains under both arms (but not sharp) which led to finding the bc, so I am a bit concerned. Anyone ever had pains there b4 or after mast or recon?
Thanks for all the nice words, Bean!!
Junie, are you home now? Or on the way? Can't wait to hear ALL about it!!!! And to have you back here with all of us "social" drinkers!
ChEARS Big Ears,
Kathy

Junie - Thanks for the welcome! I am doing better today, thanks soooo much for having a great bar to hang out in while I figure out how to cope n' hope! I love your adding verrrrrry social person - sounds so fun. I'm so glad the storm has passed your area and I hope your home has no problems.
ConnieS - Thanks for the welcome, I'm in Ocean Shores about a half mile from the beach. I've been to Arlington, but not Sultan. I've been going to Seattle for all my stuff, but looks like I'll get chemo and rads in Aberdeen. Nice to know you are in WA too. It's a beautiful state. I moved here to enjoy clean air and keep away from toxins that would give me cancer - LOL! It's good to hear your son is maturing. I never had children, but have lots of nieces and nephews. My youngest nephews were horrid but one day they turned into humans - it was such a nice metamorphosis - hope you will have a nice time with your son. All the best to you and thanks again.
hunkydory - Thanks for the positive words and understanding. This thing really tests your coping skills. I am hoping to get a full picture within a couple weeks, but it seems one test leads to another, then another surgery, etc. Gotta keep perspective with a tall gin fizz on the bar. I WAS doing that on google - how did you know? I found I had so many possible diseases I scared myself silly. Now I'm just kickin' back at the lounge and waiting. This bar is fun cuz I can mix and not worry. Gin now, noon some vodka and grapefruit juice, evening will be knocking off some more vino, then I have a whole host of desert wines slotted for later and before bed a hot totty, of course! I am being silly! I so appreciate your kind words and guidance, it is very helpful to me!! I'm sorry you work in a lab, I hate chemistry too. My undergrad degree is in chem and I told myself that if I could get through a year of physical chemistry I could get through anything. After that and 20 years in a lab this BC thing should be a breeze. Well, get your burette out and titrate something good for me! Hope you have a great week!
NativeMainer - Do you think the strawberry reisling is better for breakfast or for dessert? Sounds like it might go well with pancakes for breakfast. Sounds so yummy. 10 pounds of pineapple - Wow! Yeah, that would definitely get some frustrations out.
dee1961 - Thanks for the mellow yellow Monday and well wishes. Same to you!
kittycat - All good & mellow wishes for you today!
goldie0827 - Wishing you a fantastic week and some happy, sloppy drinks at the bar!
Wahine - I hope those pains are nothing but lingering nerve stuff from surgery. I recently had nodes removed and have had a few sharp, shooting pains from that. Best wishes to you for no problems.
To All - Have a wonderful Monday and thanks again for being here. I am so grateful and thanks for reading my posts.

Beeeeeeeeanie...............you fit right in with all of us goofy gals! I sent you a private message too, did you get that? Do you even know how to get those?
Kathy, we want to see your new haircut, and you make that appt right away. We can't let these kind of things go by the wayside. Go get that checked, and pronto young lady!
Kitty..........thinking about you!

gotta go study... just jumped in to see if there was any word from kittycat... have a great Monday everyone!

Study Hard AStorm. Geeze...I forgot to say hi to you in my previous post. And I thought I had got everyone. I should be slapped in the side of my head with a rubber hose. Still crossed for Kitty. Later, lushes! HunkyD
0 -
Hunk, it's hit upside the head with a loaf of bread and up your nose with a rubber hose..LMAO! I watched Welcome back Kotter waaay back in the day JOHN TRAVOLTA! HOTNESS! I was just checking on KK. I'm busier than a one legged man in a butt kickin' contest right now, but I will check back later to see if there is any news .... later tater!
0 -
Well, I'll be dipped in sh*t. I had no idea my expression was wrong. Thank's for the correction DEE! LOL! I am waiting for some muscle to come my way. Bought a new comforter and bedskirt, and any of you ever try to get one of them dang bedskirts on by yourself? It isn't easy! I think a one legged butt kickin contest would be easier! I am having a beer and waiting until DH shows up. Oh gawd...then I will hear the "what the hell you need this thing for woman?" You know the story. To the moon......Alice! HunkyD

Hey everyone! I'm having surgery tomorrow. My BS is going to remove all of the lumpy stuff. He felt more than one lump. He said sometimes his bmx patients have lumps post surgery. It's not along my bmx scar. He said it's unlikely to be bc, but we won't know until the do a path report. Wish me luck!!!
0 -
Oh kittycat, we definately will be thinking of you tomorrow, and praying for good results!!! Thank you for letting us know, and glad he will be removing it so quickly. Would you mind if we all came along....we get really tiny so no one else will know we are there...and that way we can make sure they take good care of you! Of course, we will have our tiny beers and mixed drinks so we can celebrate when we hear that all is well. I'll be leaving for Tunica in the morning, but will have the puter, so can check in, and see how you are doing. (((HUGS))) and best wishes!
And junie got home, safe and sound! Can't wait to hear about her adventures. And how much "social" drinking she did...LOL.
Hope the rest of you drinking buds are doing well tonight....I still have that annoying sharp pain, and DH wanted to take me to ER, but maybe I just pulled something and it will go away. Well, off to Tunica early....shall I tell Hunk that everyone says hello? You newer gals don't know about him, but he is a pit boss and really good looking....junie and I took a pic with him and posted it, then HD put his pic on a tv screen in a bar! When I took him that pic, he was amazed that it looked so real. But he is real nice, so I end up talking to him a lot (with DH nearby, of course!!!). Maybe we'll win big this time.
Lets drink those suds, buds!
Kathy
