Hugggssss to Kitty--thanks for checking in--for sure will be thinking about you tomorrow and wishing you the best.  Haven't unpacked yet, so I've just grabbed my bag and waiting for the bus to pick me up!   I'll be there tomorrow with everyone else!!!!

We got home this afternoon just as our yard guy was pulling out....all I heard was that he'd got the yard cleaned up and would be back later to clear the crap off the roof!   Haven't had a chance to talk to any neighbors but guess something blew through while we were gone--no damage that we can find but must have shook a lot of little limbs down.   It is so chilly, had to turn the furnace back on!!

We're going to miss Kathy in Tunica by 2 weeks!  grrr....got to plan things better next time!  Kathy--hope you hit a big one but leave a little for me--ok?   Give Hunk a hug!   I laugh whenever I think about meeting Kathy in Tunica and her finding this pit boss to take his pic with us and...will confess to my fun screw up at casino this weekend.  Thought I was on a penny slot playing like $2 max bet....could not believe that after a couple spins was up to $300--shit! it was $10 a spin!!  I cashed out only because dinner was ready and didn't believe anyone that I was playing $10 a spin--I was in one of those special social modes!!!   Would NEVER do that in my right mind!!!   But, the only time I ever win anything is when I don't know what I am doing!!!!

Big hugggssss to everyone...no buckets tonight, but will take one ML out to the pool and see if anyone is there.   Basis note on calendar, B&B has company coming in two days--got to check that out tomorrow.   And got letter in mail while gone that it is time to make appt for dreaded annual mammo.  Seems like it was 3 months forever; then 6 months...just recently graduated to yearly and it seems to roll around even more quickly!

cheers to big ears; no more fears and deer don't eat daffodils!  Bottoms up to lots of laughs!!!

Sorry gals that I didn't post earlier today.  It was a very hectic day.  BS appt in the AM, then I visited the dentist for a cleaning after that.  My mom got here tonight.  We told her right after she got here (she was trying to make other plans).  She was shocked, but took the news better than expected.  Although, she's pooped from moving out of her house.

That would be so funny to have everyone there, having a cocktail.  My husband would totally join in, but then I wouldn't have a designated driver for the way home!  I got my pink Victoria Secret jammy pants washed.  I wore them for my BMX and I got good results on my path report then (no new cancer).  My huband says I look like Kim Kardashian going in for plastic surgery when I wear my pink outfit and big stunner glasses!  LOL!  Of course, I'm blonde, but it's funny anyway!

I'll try and keep you all posted.  The surgery is at 11 am PST.  No food or drink after midnight - 15 minutes left!!!  Keep the good vibes going!!!

Kitty, you DH is more than welcome to come on the bus with us, that way he can join in in some libations. We'll get ya both home. Wishing you all the best today and for quick recovery and good path results on Thursday.

Junie, I have made that mistake before, betting more than I would normally....but never got the results you did! Glad to hear there wasn't much in damage from the storms.

Dee, did you get your new sofa? HD, weren't you getting a new sink? How's the new bedskirt look woman? Jaybird, I know you are just enjoying being home! Kathy, have fun in Tunica and YES tell Hunk hello. And make that doctor appt when you get home.

Welcome ReRe. We have had a few newbies visit our lounge recently. If you go back a few pages, you will find out much more and see pictures. I think here, we have 2 drinks at a time.....not a day!

Astorm, hope things are settling down over there with the teens!

Going to town today, since I am leaving Thursday morning for Phx

Just a quick good morning, heading up to Canada to get my son and bring him down for a visit - oh and paying his tuition and buying him some food. Hmmm, expensive day.

Funniest thing happened to us yesterday. Don and I have been talking about upgrading to a king sized bed for quite a while...the two dogs and 1 cat seem to take up most of the room on a queen. Yesterday we'd been talking about it again so I popped onto Craigslist to see what was available. The first couple I called were already taken and then I saw an ad that was exactly what we'd been looking for and within our budget! I called and when the lady called me back she said it was still there. I asked her where we go to pick it up and she starts giving directions. She says "We're in Arlington"- we had just moved out of Arlington 8 months ago when we bought this house so I said, yes I know the area a little. She goes on to say which exit to get off the freeway and I'm nodding and saying yup, that's close to where we were. Then she says, go past the airport up the hill and turn right into The Crossings. I'm laughing by this time, that was our neighbourhood. Then she gives the address and before she finishes saying it I'm roaring with laughter. They are the tenants that moved into the house right after us!! Don and his Dad went up and got the bed (and some mail they'd been holding for us), had a few laughs and we're all still marveling at the bizarre twists of the world.

Glad to meet you ReRe. Hope you stay and share in some libations with us.

I hope everything went well with kittycat and Beanie, I am familiar with Ocean Shores although I've never been there, my husband grew up in Tacoma.

See you all on the flip side! (Oh, yeah, 2 weeks and counting for reconstruction part 2)

Beanius--at the top of the page you should see a series of tabs--the far right one says "Private Message" and will have a number in parentheses if you have a PM. Click on the tab to get to the PMs.

kittykat--thinking about ya and pouring little doses of alcohol into your IV so you wake up very, very happy.

ReRe--don't let the docs tell you that you gave yourself bc,  It doesn't work that way, you didn't do it to yourself.  Perhaps HRT wasn't the best decision, but given the info you had at the time, you made the best decison you could.  It's a crap shoot, as is said so often on these boards.

    Junie--nice winnings!  good for you!

Dee--the next batch of wine will be a veggie wine, but I haven't decided what veggie to use yet. Any requests or suggestions?

Connie--hope you have a nice trip.  So funny about the bed from your old place!  Small world, sometimes, isn't it?

Here's to wishin' for wicked good fishin'

Connie - that story is crazy about you bed and the tenants. What a small world! We upgraded to a king when we moved into our house (which was 6 years ago tomorrow). We usually have one dog and 2-3 cats sleeping with us (they sleep closer to me because I don't move much.

Surgery went well today. The BS removed 3 lumps (ok, that seems crazy that I had 3 lumps) where did they come from? NM - I'm glad you told ReRe not to blame herself. I started thinking of things like maybe I shouldn't have been taking birth control (the onco told me it was good to take and reduced my risk of ovarian cancer. I feel like I've been focusing on my ovaries and it never dawned on me to be super aware of my breasts. Although, I've been feeling my foobs.

So back to the surgery... My Bs made an incision that looks about 1.5 inches, a little bigger that I expected. It's a little bloody, so I won't be able to really see it until the steristrips come off. I don't care about the scar, but I'm wondering if they had to make a larger incision to get more lumps and stuff out. We will see. The BS didn't say much to my mom and husband. Now it's just a waiting game - probably 2 days. I'm in more pain than I expected, so I took a half of a perc. My husband wanted me to take Advil, but I said NO!!! I need something stronger!

Come on gals, bring that bus over!!!

(((Kittycat))) -- hope everything turns out okay.

Hunkydory -- Don't hurt yourself on my account! How's the bedskirt? I have a 'Shabby Chic' chair cover on a big stuffed chair in the bedroom cuz I can wash the pet hair (and beer and pretzels) off. I managed to get it off the chair last week and wash it but had to get DH to put it back on cuz it feels creepy when I use my pecs. I wish I had video taped that -- he was hilarious!

Deeeee -- I had a boyfriend in high school who looked like John Travolta. He was not too bright, but hey.

Tomorrow is my big exam day, so don't forget to join me at the HTL after work! I will probably be the one crying in my beer.

LOL @ HD and calling Heather, Kitty Kardashian! Too funny.

Kitty, hoping for good results and also that you get them on Thursday. I know will be on pins and needles until then. Sounds like mom and hubby are great supports and of course you have all of us here.

Connie, I know you are going to enjoy your visit with you son. I saw you story on FB. Almost sounds like something from the Twilight Zone!

Astorm, why would you be crying in your beer. You're gonna ACE that exam and we're gonna be cheering with beer.

NM, how about using the veggie BROCCOLLI !!!! Ha ha ha.......LMAO. Can't wait to hear Dee's response to that one. But I LOVE broccollii, not sure that it would make a good wine. Never would have thought veggies at all. Wish we could have a tasting party, how fun would that be?

Glad you got your couch Dee, you can go home and relax with a nice glass of broccolli wine!

Beans, what do you have happening next and when? Was it more node removal? Axilary?

I will be leaving in the morning and will be back on Saturday afternoon. Haven't decided if I am taking my computer or not. Not going to have much time to be on if I do. But it doesn't take up much room!

How to Put a Bedskirt on a Bed:

Step 1 Completely remove the bedding items from the bed.

Step 2 Pull the bed slightly out from the wall to give yourself plenty of room to put the bedskirt on the bed.

Step 3 Remove bedskirt from the packing. You should immediately notice that the center section of the bedskirt is flat and non-printed.

Step 4 Place the bedding on the center of the mattress. Make certain that the center of plain section is center with the mattress.

Step 5 Slowly pull the bedskirt out to the edges of the bed. Align the edges of the bedskirt with the mattress frame.

Step 6 Replace the top mattress over the bedskirt and mattress frame. Use a few words of profanity since the bedskirt is now crooked.

Step 7 Remove mattress from bed and start over with step 5

By the time you get the darn thing on straight you will need a drink and someone to drive you to the Chiropractor or ER depending on your level of injuries.

I'm glad I only had to move furniture, man my arse sure is a hurting today!

Okay back to work, cya later!

Edited to add: Lori my dearest friend, there will never be a day that brocolli in any form will pass my lips..thanks anyway ;) It smells like a** and give the gas.

Goldie--Broccolli wine?   Hmmmm.   I wonder if Broccoli wine would get you gassed and give you gas at the same time??????   Personally, I was thinking of pumpkin wine or maybe squash, but I'm open to ideas.

kittykat--glad things went well and you are home, the tenders and wenches are setting up the percotini fountain--where do you want it put?  And the 'blame the victim' 'you must have done something to get cancer' attitude absolutely makes me CRAZY!  It's just an excuse for not having a cure despite all the money that gets raised every year.  Can't be medicine's fault for not being able to cure a disease, therefore it must be the patient's fault for getting it in the first place.  AARRGGHH!!!

AStorm-good luck with the exam, not that you need luck.  Final exams are coming up soon for my students, so I can imagine the nerves are jangling!

Dee--it's a full moon?  No wonder things are crazy at the hospital!   Thanks for point that out, I usually keep track of that but somehow it got past me.  Great bed skirt instructions--they should be included in all packages of bedskirts!

Maybe the drink of the day should be a FULL MOON

1 1/2 oz Orange Curacao liqueur
1 1/2 oz amaretto almond liqueur

Pour above ingredients into an ice-filled rocks glass, and serve.

NM - I love the full moon!!!  That pic is hilarious!!!

So, I got a call this week from Cigna's patient advocate program.  They call when you're going into surgery or having a major health issue.  I never called them back on my other surgeries, but decided to call back today - what do I have to lose??  I talked to the lady for 40 minutes. She was shocked I had surgery yesterday.  So, we talked a lot about that and some other health stuff.  She also had my hyst/ooph on the schedule for May 4th, not May 14th.  She was going to call the dr's office about that!  Ughh... yeah that would be helpful!  :)  Anyway, it was nice to talk to someone.  She's going to send me some stuff related to my surgery and other programs they have available.  :)

Fingers crossed for Kitty to get good news tomorrow and AStorm passes her exam!   Lori, travel safe.  Wahine, hope you're having a great visit, great eats, and great gambling!!!  Just remember to leave me some!!!    Dee--how's that new sofa?  Ya turning into a couch potato yet???  Gagagirl--love the new doo--hope you're on the mend HunkyD and the bruising fades a little more each day.    Connie--small world indeed!  Hope you're having a great visit with your son.   And, where in the world is Jaybird!!!!!

Grabbing my bucket and heading to the pool....hoping to find Bean, ArubaJ, and Re-Re out there!!!   Hugggsssss to everyone I missed!

OMG  - I am so tired.  My boss told me to take it easy today and to nap.  Well, not me!!!  I kept myself busy so I couldn't think about "the results"  ughhh... It worked though.    All I did was visit the office, get the shirts and stuff for the BC walk, go to the craft store to make a sign for the walk and go to another office to fax my expense report. I am so pooped.  I can feel the anesthesia still.  And my right foob is spazzing out!

AStorm--I'll tell you the same thing I tell my students: Don't go by how you feel after the exam is over, wait and see what the grade is, THEN decide how you feel.  In the meantime, use distraction therapy (drinking, partying, studying, housecleaning, whatever) or retail therapy to cope.  I'm sure you did just fine!

Junie--I thought that pic was just toooo good not to post, it's such fun!  Funny how we can get on a one-track-mind kind of rut.

Hunky--are the bruises in places where you can rub in (gently) some arnica gel?  I've seen arnica do some amazing things with clearing up bruises.  Anyway, time will fix that problem, but it's hard to be patient, I know.

KittyKat--my insurance keep calling me and signing me up for "Coaching" and "Condition Care."  I spend half an hour answering questions and then am told that a nurse will call me with more info, support etc.  I've signed up for each program at least 3 times, haven't gotten a call from a nurse yet.  the last survey I got from them I suggested they dump these programs, fire the "benefit specialists" and drop my premium!  Oh,well.   YOU need to take it a little easy for a while and give your body a chance to recover from the anesthesia and the trauma of surgery!  Repeat after me:  Naps are GOOD.  Overdoing is BAD.  Naps are GOOD.  Overdoing is BAD. Naps are GOOD.  Overdoing is BAD. Now keep going.

Dee--great drink idea, I can put that one in my water bottle and it will make this afternoons boring meeting more bearable!

ReRe, Aruba, Bean--where are you ladies hanging out?  I'm ready for some laughs and gossip, thought I'd join you.  Are you exploring the casino?  or checking out one of the buffets?  or just chillin' somewhere?

Junie, thanks for reminding me that this weekend is the Kentucky Derby.  Pahlease.....no Mint Juleps for me.  I will take "Lookin at Lucky" across the board.  Didn't we wear some hats last year?  Well, anyway, here I am at work again and the wind is a blowin.  Snowed and rained yesterday.  AStorm, LMAO about the chair cover for beer and pretzel stains.  Sometimes I wonder if I should put my laptop in a clear garbage bag for protection while in use.  Kitty, hope you get some pictures to share of the Komen walk.  NM is right...take it easy.  NM, I have heard of the arnica but I just have a few stubborn bruised areas left.  They are kind of pretty.  Lori, have a safe trip today.  Check in on your puter.  Dee, thanks for the bedskirt instructions.  It was about 4 beers to late though.  Connie, spooky story about your bed! Is that what they mean by the term 6 degrees of separation?  And ya, where is everybody else..Bean, Aruba, Jamaica, Grakenmom, ReRe?  Better get back to work...my coffee is getting cold!  HunkyD

Hi everyone! NM. absolutely loved the pumpkin butt pics....soooooo funny! Dee, the bedskirt instructions were great....really that IS a PIA to put those on correctly. HD, hope you got yours on fairly well....and sounds like the bruises are healing....soon you will not be multi-colored!! Kittycat, waiting anxiously for news from the path report....let us know as soon as you can. Junie, well let me just say that if you win the money I left at Hollywood Casino, you will be one happy gambler! BJ and machines just were not in my favor there! My parents and aunt and uncle had such a nice time getting together...was sad to hear my aunt telling my dad (her brother) that this may be the last time they get to see each other, since they are 95 and almost 94. NO ONE could believe their ages! My dad and mom played in their 1st slot tournament also, so that was fun. Got home safely, and really, that is what is important....more so than winning (really? yeah, I guess so....reluctantly so!).

So many posts to read, and of course now I can't remember what everyone wrote...lol. But just wanted to say hi, and hope everyone is doing really good today!

    Cheers to my drinking buds......

Ok, NM. At first I thought the pumpkins were breasts (am I fixated or what)... but is that a men next to her?... why does he have boobs?.... orrrr  are  they -----!?     NO!  I knew that couldn't be right... glad I read the message. Thanks for the tip about exam stress. It was the first of 4 CPA exams. I put it off after graduating because DH lost his job and I had to work extra hours, then there was the bc so almost 2 years have gone by and I am not used to 4-hour exams! I probably passed but I was feeling really beat up after. I've had a really tough week.

Going to wine class now. So much more fun than studying accounting!
