Bean, I thought you and JP were going on the bus.  Clip the stitch, and yank all the way from entry point straight back with a swift pull!   LOL!  Seriously...thoughts and prayers are with you for this next week.  I hope this can be the start of some answers to your path!  HunkyD

    Good morning, Lounge Ladies!

I'll be leaving for Boston in a few hours.  I expect there's WiFi at the hotel so I'll probably be online this evening, but if not--THANK YOU for all your help and support, and I can't tell you how much it means to me to have the bus in the parking lot and a bunch of you "in my pocket" tomorrow.

Tomorrow.  Wow, I get the new me TOMORROW!!!!

    A drink for today:

     Tomorrow We Sail

    1 tsp Triple Sec
    3 oz Champagne
    1/2 oz Dark Rum
    1/2 oz LBV Port

Since I have soooo many posts to catch up on, I am typing in word as I read, cuz there are 2 pages of posts and you can't go back or forward to re-read the things that you have already forgotten. So I will ad to each person as I come to new post!

Beans - I am so sorry for all the waiting you have to go through. But I love the bus! It's so "US"!

Stanzie - I must agree with you. We are a pretty good bunch! And we do have LOTS of fun. But can get serious and supportive for any of our Loungies. And there's nothing that separates our group...unless you don't want to have fun! Sorry for all you having to go through with that "self inflicted" flooding. I guess the best way to look at it, is look what all you'll have when the work and cleaning is all done.

Astorm - Perco fountain is always available. We just need to have one of out Tattie Tenders get it out and fill it up! Creative idea with the numbered boxes, and losing the list!

Heather - Happy Anniversary to you and Mark, and I hope that wall falls down in a day or two. Then you can start to re-coop and get ready for the next round. Glad to hear good news on the mole. Like you need more on your plate!

Kathy - Sorry to hear your Mango Margarita didn't turn out. Maybe next time! Oh, and it's agave. At least that is one of the native plants here in AZ. St Thomas? I didn't know you were taking off. Have a blast!

HD - Yes, I'll share my worms with you, but you'll have to bring ur own pole, I don't have one of those! LMAO on your swift pull for Beans. Too funny!

NM - Hope you have a safe trip today. I have a feeling that missing Sadie is going to be your biggest thing to deal with! Sounds like you have everything in order, and please post as soon as you are able. I can also post for you, from anything you put on FB. Just let me know. YES, TOMORROW WE SAIL! Blessings and Best Wishes Kim. (((Kim)))

Ok, I think I got everything. We had fun at the auction. Left here at 7:30am and didn't get home until 8:30 pm. Spent about $300 on "stuff" mostly for the Old West Town. But it was sure a long day! To all my girls DH's that are daddy's, Happy Fathers Day to you all!

See y'all on the bus in the morning!

(Sure glad I have this on word, I could never have re-typed it all)!

Wahine - I'd love to and I of course think she is just gorgeous even for an older lady. Can anyone tell me how on earth to post a picture? She lives to chace our pool cleaner around and catch his tail - I think it keeps her very young.

Hey Wahine - if you get stuck in Atlanta ( certainly hope not at least not on the way down) if you have your computer or( PM me) - that is where I am.Oh gosh I know you will have a perfect vaction in Paradise! How wonderful for you!

    NM - thinking about you!

NM....we are all going with you....and will be there to help you when you go to recovery....of course we may be drunk by then, but.....  Anyway, will be thinking of you VERY MUCH and sending prayers and best wishes your way (even though we will be there too)!

Stanzie, Sometimes I have to put a pic on photobucket, and then get it on here, and other times I can just "copy" it and "paste" it here, but sometimes it gives me a lot of trouble. Lori, HD, and NM are experts at posting pics, so I hope someone will help you with that (I'm sure there are others here too that post pics,so please help!). Well gosh darn it, instead of getting a motel to stay at and leave our car for 5 days, we could have just stayed with you! LOL...really J/K!!!! Send me your phone number in a PM and if we have time, I will try to call you to say hello!

Junie, Hope you are having a good time, and DH is having a great time being with his kids! Let us know when you get back home safely!

Lori, Neat that you got more stuff for your Wild West town!!! Thanks for the correction of agave...I knew it didn't look right...almost wrote it as "algarve"...so at least I was just 1 letter off...LOL. Would love to see how your wild west town is coming along...any new pics? Looks so fantastic!

Hope everyone's fathers are having a nice day today, and DH's that are fathers too! One year I got a Father's Day card from my girls (teens) after their dad died....cause then I became both father and mother and had heavy work to do on our small farm...that really touched me!

And who is going to take over posting our drink of the day while NM is in the hospital????

    Happy Sunday,

    Kathy

NM - Here we go on the bus, less than 24 hours, whoooopie! I love the Happy Juice which I slurped up yesterday morning before my laptop died and Tomorrow We Sail is perfect for today. Let us know if you have the slightest problem and we'll be there to straighten out any nurses, docs or whatever! Sending you cheerful vibes for a pleasant sail!!

Wahine - love the fresh mango margarita idea, who cares if it didn't turn out cause seagrams n coke sounds good too! How nice to be going to St. Thomas, you must be excited!

Astorm - got my barf pan & hard candy all packed and I love my chemo queen crown, it really works. I've slipped in a little vodka & seagrams n diet coke too.

HD - thanks for reading my posts. I love yours too, you always have something cool to say and your avatar quacks me up. Thanks for the encouragement as I get closer to something...maybe tomorrow when I meet with my onc we'll get a clearer picture. If not it will be muddy as ever and I'll just come here and whine about it. You're right, I'm on the bus and I think this will be my last night with my lil JP buddy. The 3-ways with him & DH have been fun this past month, for sure. They must be one of the surgeon's most popular selling sex toys. I love your suggestion, I was gunna just fudge my JP data, but why wait til tomorrow when I can just yank the little spud! Ooooooooo goood idea!!

Stanzie - howz your house coming?

Goldie - glad you had fun at the auction and found some treasures, are they really not having it again?

Beans, I am so sorry that you don't have your father or father-in-law with you anymore. I know you enjoyed having him be with you till he was in his 90's, but sometimes I wonder if you would miss him more since he was with you for so many years. I feel fortunate to still have my parents, but I know I will be a basket-case when they aren't here anymore. For all you gals who do not have your father anymore, my heart goes out to you so very much. And it breaks my heart for those  who lost their dads early in life and missed out on so much. Dad's have a special place in their daughters hearts, thats for sure! DH is out to lunch with his dau, and then we're going to see my dau, whose birthday is today. It is always hard for her when her bday falls on Father's Day, since she was a teen when her dad (my husband) died. Hope you can say "buh-bye" to JP soon!

A big toast to all the dad's in our lives (those still with us,and in memory of those we have lost)!

I lost both my parents - my dad at 71 and my mom at 80. I got presents for my kids to celebrate Father's Day with him but unfortunanly my son is sick. He never gets sick, Got home from camp last Thursday and apparently woke up this morning about 6:00am crying He slept till 4:30 today and ate a tiny bit. Went back to sleep at 5:30-7:00pm and now he is back asleep again - he says his stomach hurts and he has a fever. Poor thing.

OK, what one earth is photobucket? Is it like Picasa?

ooo, I love St. Thomas. I live in a beach town but we haven't been on a tropical vacation in a long time. I'm taking my 14 YO DD to So Cal next month and planning to take a lonnnng time getting back. Might have to stop at a spa or something. Definately doing some wine tasting along the way and I'll have to sleep that off too.

NM -- don't know if you'll see this, but we sure will be thinking about you! Hope you make a speedy recovery and come back to the HTL soon cuz we'll miss your great sense of humor and Sadie stories.

Stanzie - we used to have rats in our garage. We would see/ hear them scurry away when we opened the door from the house to the garage. My girls were still young and they wouldn't even go in the garage... they'd wait for me to back the car out and walk out through the front door. I kept bugging DH to do something about them (that is what men are for, right?) but he was as scared as we were and he doesn't believe in exterminators. He kept saying there were no rats. So... one day we were in the Halloween store and they had these fake rats that my artsy daughter wanted to buy for a model. The next morning, the fake rat found its way into DH's car, right by the hand brake! I think he yelled loud enough to scare away any critters but he called an exterminator just in case. Fast forward a few years and there are mice in my neighbor's heating vents because they started a construction project on the vacant property behind our houses and the critters needed to find a better place to live. Neighbor had to have all the ductsreplaced because the house reeked when they came home from vacation. And I'm starting to see evidence too -- even inside the house (ahhh!). Started bugging DH again... nothing happened. Finally threatened to get a cat... still nothing. Gave him a deadline -- nothing. Went to the SPCA to pick out sweet kitty -- came home with 2! We have no mice now.

Well that was a long story. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Best wishes to everyone for a happy week ahead!

Ok....NM is safely at the hospital with Sadie hiding close by. We have time to take Beans to get rid of JP, then back to stand guard for NM.

First day of summer, first day for a new NM. Here a couple cocktails. A pink one (I like pink) and the other to me looks like a rainbow, and has the pot of gold for NM.

YAY, nice drinks Lori!!! And fantastic to have such wonderful drinks on our bus, while we go betwn Beans and NM....yummmmmm. Hope you both are doing well today! Yikes Lori, a rattler!!! How brave of you to kill himl After my DH died 18 yrs ago, I mean RIGHT AFTER the funeral (we lived on a small farm on the side of the mountain, very wooded), I was right in front of the tool wall in the garage looking for a tool when I saw a rattler ON THE WALL (came so close to accidentally grabbing right where he was)!!! Thank God a neighbor was home, and he came over to kill it for me...whew! We used to also have snakes climb (slither?) the tall trees to eat the baby birds in nests....so we would have to LOOK before leaning against a tree in our yard!!! I hated when they killed the baby birds. Never saw any snakes in the pasture or barn, but the horses may have kept them away. AARRGGHHHHHHHHH.....I am terrified of snakes and spiders...yuck! I still stayed there 2 more yrs till I built and completed all the projects my DH and I had planned to do. But it was a relief to move into town....no more snakes!!!

AStorm, I love the way you got your 2 kitties!!! Enjoyed the story!!

Sorta good news on DH's stress test...not perfect, but not too bad, so relieved about that. Now I'm hoping my dad gets good news tomorrow.

    Love you all....you are great!

This bus is getting a bit crowded, but definately tons of fun! Next time I'll leave the weener-dog home with the kids. Those drinks look great. I love pink too, except in October. I painted my nails BC-pink in support of all my drinkin buddies who are having a challenging week. Can't wait to see the new NM! Cheers!

Oh, Lori. I cannot abide a snake! I don't kill anything but snails (of course, I've never come across a rattler) but I stay clear. Lizards, ditto. Not fond of mice, rats or spiders but there is something about reptiles that makes my skin crawl. I think it is the way they move so fast and they look at you with those beady little eyes. We don't get many critters in our yard because of the dogs -- just gophers in the herb garden and snails just about everywhere. Right after I was diagnosed, I discovered a gopher destroying my herb garden. You could watch him from the kitchen window, popping his little head out of the hole for bird seed that had fallen on the ground. Kinda cute. DD and I discussed our options and decided we didn't want to harm him. We thought about catching him and releasing him in the park down the street (Gopher Meca) but couldn't find a trap intended for release. Don't know how he got in but I had spent several days removing soil from the garden to replace wire mesh, which I also ran up the sides at the fence line. He finally went away but I suspect he'll be back near the end of summer when he gets hungry. I hear weener-dogs can burrow to hunt the little buggers which doesn't sound like a good option but nature will probably take its course cuz we can't seem to keep the weener out of the garden either.

Just got back from a long day at the Children's Hospital. When my son, Sean tried to go to the bathroom last night he was so dizzy he couldn't walk so I helped him and he passed out after peeing. Was in so much pain! I got him back to bed after he collapsed three more times. I was scared but he immediately went to sleep and didn't want to wake him - he slept through the night and took him to the Dr. this morning they immediately set him to the hospital - they thought it might be appendicitus. So after another 6 hours at the hospital - he has a urinary tract infection and is horribly constipated( sorry). He just got back from camp and the doc. said if kids prolong going tot he bathroom they can get UTI's. However, because boys don't normally get this I'm to take him in on Thursday to make sure his Kidney's are OK. so his is on antibotics and a laxitive.

He is already SOOO much better! Even though he is tired after today I'm just so relieved he doesn't need surgery!

A-storm - love the rat story! I do have a cat and there are lots of cats around but...... sigh. There are just too many holes for them to get into. I have set traps but usually they are too smart for them. Summer they aren't too bad, it's winter when they want to get warm is when they really like the garage.

No luck on starting construction yet but I've cleared out most of the stuff in the downstairs room so I'm ready when they are.

Hey, loungies!!!  Finally home again and soooo glad!   Thanks again for all the birthday wishes!!  I had a fantastic birthday, complete with my favorite cake--carrot cake--handmade from scratch by my sis-in-law.   I watched her grind the carrots in the food processor!   I thought ALL cakes came from a box!!  I was totally impressed and it was the best cake I've ever eaten!!!!

Our trip started off really rocky!   Just as we were leaving the house, the smoke alarm went off.  I freaked out but DH just pulled it off the wall, took out the battery, and said get in the car!   I at least wanted to wait a bit and make sure nothing was going on but he was ready to leave.  So, we were shouting at each other by the end of the driveway!!!   Dropped dog off at camp--I'm still upset about the smoke alarm--just out of town a car is stopped right in the road, not even off to the side, emergency flashers on....DH slows down and passes the car.   There's another car--same thing--passes that car--ANOTHER car...DH starts to pass that one and then we see the problem...next car down the road is stalled with black smoke pouring out.   Just as DH passes last car, the car ahead became engulfed totally in flames!  It was horrific!!!  Thank God DH decided to back up--afraid car would explode!   Backed up and got turned around and took a different route.   He did check with one of the cars that was stopped that no one was in the car.  As we got headed back the other way, the fire engine was screaming down the road.  My nerves were pretty frayed.   About 40 minutes later, on a divided hi-way, DH was passing a SUV pulling a big camping trailer; just as we we started to pass, the car started drifting into our lane.  DH slowed down but the other driver over corrected and caused the trailer to start careening wildly across both lanes--almost hit us.   Thought the car was going to flip but they got it under control.  I was hyperventilating by the time we finally passed them.   Another 30 minutes and we happened on a big wreck--cars all over the median, in the ditch, police, ambulances, etc.  That's when I lost it and popped a ML and transported myself mentally to cyber world!!!!   Other than the hectic start, we had a really fun trip and great visit with relatives/kids/granddau....

Much goings on here and won't ever catch up!   NM, thinking about you and hoping you check in with us soon!  I did laugh at the packing list they gave you--if you took all that, the hospital prob thought you were coming for a month!!   Stanzie--hope your son is feeling better--nothing scarier than a sick kid!  I remember too well a couple middle of the night runs to the emergency rooms with my son and dau when they were young.

No rats or mice here that I've ever seen--think the raccoons and hawks take care of them.  Would almost welcome mice over some of the other critters.  Plenty of snakes, but have only seen a couple--always cautious when out in yard; and don't look hard for a golf ball in the rough!

Much to say to so many, but am parched--grabbing my bucket and heading out to the pool for a bit.   Will be packed and catch the bus tomorrow as it sashays cross-country taking care of everyone!!  Hugggsssss to you all--you are the greatest!!!!

Junie, WELCOME BACK here! OMG what a horrid time you had just leaving....glad you didn't have a wreck, and that no one was in that exploding car. SHEESH....I think I would have hit myself on the head HARD with the ML bottle and tried to just pass out quickly....j/k. Glad you had a nice birthday and nice time on the trip, once you got there!!

Stanzie, How scary to have your son so sick! Hope he is feeling much, much better as time goes on. Keep us posted!

Connie, Neat to be starting on your Graphic Design degree....we might need you to do some designing here at the HTL!!! Best of luck with that!

Beans, YAY you got rid of ol' JP.....good riddance, and hope you don't have to have any more drains. They are the pits!

AStorm, so funny about the gophers! I forgot how many of them there are in CA. Once when we were in CA driving somewhere, DH stopped off the road to nap in the car, and I just was looking out at everything. Suddenly this thing popped out of the ground, then another, then another...and OMG there must have been a hundred of them in this one area. Later we walked over there, and it was mostly dirt, but just full of holes! Never had seen anything like it.

Have a good night, gals! Think I'll have Pants make me a night cap, then call it a night.

    Night night,

    Kathy

I am officially done with the nasty TCH chemo!!! Today was #6 and to celebrate my nurses brought me pink and white balloons and a sparkly pink tiara!  They're so cute :).  I'm feeling great today, all hopped up on the steroids.  Tomorrow I'll probably crash- it's already 1am.   Just wanted to share the good news!!!  Still have the year of herceptin only, but I think it's a cake-walk after taxotere/carboplatin.  I just have to make it through these next couple weeks.  Oh, and tomorrow I see the geneticist for the BRCA testing- I'm a little scared about that.  Dr says if I'm positive for that we skip the radiation and just do a bilateral mastectomy...boo-hoo.  I really have dreaded BLM since the moment I found my lump.  But we'll see.

Today, I'm celebrating...CHEMO IS OVER!!!  Hope everyone is doing great- I've been out of the loop as my parents were visiting and we had a great time!  (What a nice surprise, no drama or anaything!!)  Maybe this is going to turn out to be my great year after all- am I an eternal optimist or what?!?  :)

NM, We would love to hear from you when you are up to being on a puter again.....and we have Pants and Jocks and the Wenches standing by, to wait on you hand and foot. Lori is in a later time zone, but once she gets up, she is doing a great job of posting drinks while you are recuperating.

Dee, Still thinking of you and your mom. I hope and pray that things will turn around. Please stop in when you can.  (((Dee))), (((Dee's Mom)))

Boy a nice wakeup drink sure sounds good! Can't indulge though, got too much to do! Heat index this week is around 100+, so trying to get caught up on inside work. Happy Tuesday to all you Loungettes!!!

Yay for Lady M...no more chemo!

Yay for Junie...you're home and safe!

    Yay for Connie...starting school.

Yay for NM...done with surgery and we hope you are resting and not in too much pain. Percotini fountain is up and running for you.

Cry for Stanzie...your son being sick. But glad he is back on the road to recovery.

Dee we do miss you, and hope you check in soon. As the others, wishing you and mom the best.

Stanzie, I don't know what Picasa is! Photobucket is a website that you can upload photos too. If Picasa is the same, then you can probably post pics from there. Photobucket, you have to open an account, upload your photo....then I click on the photo to 100%, right click on the photo and copy and paste to here. You can also copy the html code from the pic and click the little green tree here, and paste to that. You can also email me for my email address, send me the pic and I'll post for you!

Here ya go Kathy, this should git ur motor runnin!

Jager Bomb - Fill up a larger glass with anywhere from ½ a can to an entire can of red bull energy drink (depending on your preference) and fill up a shot glass with Jagermeister. Drop the shot glass into the larger glass and chug down the drink. You have successful just drank a Jager bomb.

Thanks for the lesson, Lori. Knowing how to drop a Jager Bomb may come in handy...  I sure could have used this last night. My 17 YO DD had a little accident with her car. Thankfully no one was injured and it wasn't her fault. She called her DAD (cuz he doesn't get upset about little things like accidents or cancer) and asked him to come help her as she was only a couple of blocks away. So I'm making dinner and I hear sirens... I'm out the back door and up on the terrace trying to get a view, the whole time muttering "don't stop! don't stop!". My heart was in my throat ,,, they stopped. and there were more sirens, lots more. All I could see from the terrace were red lights and fire engines and people walking toward the scene. I nearly knocked my neighbors down to get over there but there was nothing to see but a few crunched bumpers, oh, and a LOT of firemen. Is being a hunk a requirement for that job or something? There were 2 squad cars, an ambulance, and 2 huge fire trucks (did I mention the firemen?).
